Sep 29, 2010My Windows 7 ultimate was instaled in portuguese (my fist language) but I would like to change it to another language that I am actualy studing right now.Said that I would like to know where I can find the language pack I want and how I can install it. Icelandic is my fist choice, but If not availble, I will try french (with I am prety sure that are availble).To finish I would like to know if thouse language pack change every bit of Windows 7 or only the menus.

I heard that an in-place upgrade to Windows 7 is only possible within the same language (e.g. EN-US). Now I worry that I'll buy the wrong Win 7 version.
I know that my current Vista Ultimate is English, but how to find out which one (could be British as well)? Ist there a native OS language at all besides the language I set in the "regional and language options" in the control panel?
And is this important at all? As far as I know Windows 7 Ultimate supports 35 languages, so does it matter at all as long as I accept to install Win 7 in the same language like my Vista is?
How To Change Input Language Setup
Aug 3, 2010The problem is, when I've got one input language chosen and am working on a Word document, I am able to write using that language. As soon as I open other software (for example start searching the web), the input language changes automatically. This means I cannot write my document and then proceed using same language on the Internet, but I have to change the input language separately when I swap from Word to Internet browser.Is it possible to change the settings so that if I'd be using one input language in one software, after changing the software the input language would remain the same and not change? It is quite annoying, though it is probably helpful for those who are using different languages in different software and don't want to swap the language every time they move from one soft to another.Another annoying thing is that I cannot give the name to my file if there's a folder which has the same name. If I have folder 01 on my desktop and I have a file which I want to name as 01, as I press "Save" the file isn't being saved. Windows just opens the folder named 01 and shows it's content (in the same window where you need to enter the filename and have Save button). How can I change this setting so that Windows would let me save file 01 even though I've got folder with the same name.

Nov 30, 2010I have a problem with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 setup and it's quite frustrating. Before I explain what is happening let me give you my system specifications.
CPU: Intel Core i7 870
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4
Ram: Excelram 2x2GB Red Culvert 1600 mhz
Disk: Seagate Barracuda 320GB SATA II 3Gb/s
Graphics: Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1Gb GDDR5
DVD Drive: NEC Optiarc
Ok so I've put in the Windows 7 DVD, booted from it, deleted the partitions and created them anew and formatted the non-system one where Windows is to be installed. Windows then extracts the files normally and reboots the system. Here's where things get tricky. The system hangs after the screen "Setup is updating registry settings" and doesn't move anywhere. I even left it on during the night and it didn't budge. In some instances (I've tried installing more than 10 times) I actually get pass this screen but then get stuck at "Completing installation". And I even got pass that screen in one attempt when I ejected the CD, but when the system rebooted, it hung at "Starting Windows" screen.
Removing one stick of ram
Removing all external devices, everything not needed and setting the floppy drive to NONE in BIOS
Removing everything from USB slots and disabling them in BIOS
Entering Safemode and opening Device manager through the command prompt and disabling/uninstalling VGA drivers
Switching SATA connectors on the motherboard
Thats about everything I tried with no success.

Everything seems work prefectly.The client(iPad 2) loses internet browsing capability if I turn On the option to send all traffic however if the send all traffic is off then everything works fine. It's only my assumption that the reason why the internet works when the send all traffic is Off via my iPad 2 to the windows 7 machine is because it created a split tunnel which allows me to use the Internet without problems.My goal is to be able to turn On Send All traffic and it works.
