I'm re-installing Windows 7 on an Acer Laptop. This is not my laptop but a friend of my friend's laptop. The Windows 7 installed on the PC is a cracked version namely Windows 7 Eternity. It was installed by some other guy I don't know. The usb port are not functioning but are working. I plugged in my flashdrive and there is no sign of life but when I enter the bios it shows the flashdrive meaning that it works fine but when Window boots up it shows no life. Indicating a problem with Windows. I've tried everything to fix the ports but the last option is to re-install the OS.
He has giving me a disc with Windows Eternity which the guy give him to install but I'm going to install the OEM instead of this cracked pirate copy. To check if the OEM partition is still intact I've installed the cracked copy and used Diskpart. The OEM partition is still there. I've used the disc to format the drive and then rebooted pressed ALT & tapped the F10 key but I don't get the options to re-install OS. What do I do now? other than just installing the cracked copy. I'm guessing when the ot

Boot normally -- it hangs on "Starting Windows" animation forever. Boot safe mode -- it bluescreens.
Boot with a recovery CD (or try Repair Installation directly without a CD) -- it hangs on the green loading bar forever.
I dual-boot Ubuntu and can get into the Ubuntu partition fine so I don't think anything is necessarily wrong with the harddrive, but the Ubuntu partition is tiny and I rarely use it and can't access my Windows files anyway.
Is there anything I can try that'll help repair whatever happened? I just want to run a checkdisk utility or something similar that'll repair whatever got botched.

I have ACER Aspire 1652 laptop which was preinstalled with XP it has a Centrino 1.73 G and 2 GIG of memory installed and 80 gig hard drive and I want to install Windows 7 but ACER do no longer supply any drivers for Windows 7 for chipset, graphics, LAN drivers for Windows 7. I'm having trouble getting past the black screen reading A:> with a flashing cursor at the end. Every time I enter something I get command or filename not recognized. All I want is to get past this and into my Acer laptop again.
I just bought a new ACER laptop, Win 7, around 2 weeks ago. I have only downloaded Minecraft and Microsoft Office on it..... Today I turned on my laptop and it showed the ACER logo, and froze with the loading bar 3/4s full. So I rebooted because I couldnt think of anything better to do.... and same thing, except it froze again, at 1/2 loading bar. So, getting frustrated, I rebooted a 3rd time, and pressed F2 for setup. Once again. Frozen. In resisting the temptation of picking up the laptop and tossing it at the nearest wall, I put in a freshly, properly burnt, Ubuntu LiveCD in. And it didn't even run that.
I have an acer veriton 1000 and am trying to do a clean install with windows 7. I have a bootable disc and everytime i try and start it it comes up with "Boot from CD :" then under it appears "BOOTMGR is missing" yet i get the same disc and put in my laptop and it starts the boot up process fine.

OK, this is kind of a specific issue. with my laptop, running windows 7. The problem is when i try and open things like "explore windows 7" or close/signout and exit msn live or things like that. it doesn't open or sign out that programme, and just opens the win32 folder in windows explorerhat is it doing, and why is it doing it? its been doing it since i got the laptop, acer say its software and not their problem. But it only does it on mylaptop, my pc running win 7 is fine.
My laptop acer window 7 mini laptop use to hang. Sometimes it hangs while booting, sometimes when it has finish booting, sometimes while am working or trying to save a document.Whenever it does that i will short down through the start up button then switch it on again. The system will then give options of choosing repair my computer automatically or start window normal. Most often it still hangs even while i chose repair automatically, the same goes to start window normal. Sometimes it will start working again and then stop any time it chooses.
got some problems here with my acer laptop. It says cd-rom driver is missing or corrupt so I uninstall it and now my problem is where to download this driver to install it again on my laptop
My boyfriends laptop stopped working and when we tried to restart it we chose the option which was recommended to restart it in the mode which could try and fix the problem. However when we selected this option it loads no further than the blue windows start up screen with the little leaves on it. We tried to start up windows normally and it won't let us do this either.
