I have an acer veriton 1000 and am trying to do a clean install with windows 7. I have a bootable disc and everytime i try and start it it comes up with "Boot from CD :" then under it appears "BOOTMGR is missing" yet i get the same disc and put in my laptop and it starts the boot up process fine.
I just got my bro's computer, formatted it and installed windows 7. It won't get past the windows 7 logo screen at all, so I can't get into desktop. When I try to go into repair mode it loads for a while and then just freezes. I have done safemode and can't get passed it either, it stops at CLASSPNP.sys. My computer worked fine with Windows XP and I tried to go into windows XP and then put in the windows 7 disc and install it there, no luck. I have re-installed quite a few times. Could it be that since I formatted it doesn't work because something important got removed? This computer didn't come with a DISC of any sort. I don't even know what to do anymore, I know the the computer is fine since it works with windows xp. but not with windows 7!
When I put my computer to sleep, it stops, and it starts as soon as I turn my computer on. Changes frequency right before the login screen comes on, and then it stays the same after that. My PC also takes a while to start up now. I have to shut it off and back on maybe 2-3 times before it'll boot up. Just a few minutes ago, Windows sent me to this uh... resume(?) screen that I've NEVER seen before.
edit: it also changes frequency during windows' admin program run notification
I have a Acer Aspire one D257 with no windows operating system installed. I get a 17 error" when I turn it on. I do not know what to do to fix it, or how to reinstall Windows 7 on it.
if i installed windows 7 to acer laptop computer and go to process near till to format c: then do click next option and give us massage "you cannot install and no drive space". then cannot process.
can anyone explain to me on how to do this on my netbook? i tried it so many times installing xp on this bullshit netbook but still i don't know why I'm having hal.dll error. Maybe if someone can show me step by step guide for installing windows 7.
I just got a new laptop, Acer 1410 and have gotten my Windows 7 upgrade disk (just did a standard install). I really desire for this thing to be as bare bones as possible without one bit of the preloaded junk on it. I am gathering this is one reason why people do what I see from this website is called a clean install?
I know the basics and catch on to technology well but I am no regular computer wiz, so is this something I should attempt? Will the laptop function fully? Anyting this dummy should know?
I'm re-installing Windows 7 on an Acer Laptop. This is not my laptop but a friend of my friend's laptop. The Windows 7 installed on the PC is a cracked version namely Windows 7 Eternity. It was installed by some other guy I don't know. The usb port are not functioning but are working. I plugged in my flashdrive and there is no sign of life but when I enter the bios it shows the flashdrive meaning that it works fine but when Window boots up it shows no life. Indicating a problem with Windows. I've tried everything to fix the ports but the last option is to re-install the OS.
He has giving me a disc with Windows Eternity which the guy give him to install but I'm going to install the OEM instead of this cracked pirate copy. To check if the OEM partition is still intact I've installed the cracked copy and used Diskpart. The OEM partition is still there. I've used the disc to format the drive and then rebooted pressed ALT & tapped the F10 key but I don't get the options to re-install OS. What do I do now? other than just installing the cracked copy. I'm guessing when the ot
I have a problem installing Windows 7. I have Acer Aspire 6920 with Windows Vista. I've tried to update Vista to 7 or just format the the whole drive and install a fresh copy but same problem. Everything from the installation is perfect but after this just before the start window to load i get this screen Imageshack - acer . It says that i need recovery and i only can click Exit. If i put my Acer Recover CD, it automatic installs Vista. I am so pissed off. I can't believe i can only run Vista on this Acer ?

I have an Acer Aspire One A0751H that's been running Windows XP on a HDD. I've replaced that drive with a 120GB Sandisk SSD and I'm trying to install Windows 7 from an external DVD. I select the custom install path and select the single unallocated partition for installation. It works fine up to the point where it says "Copying Windows files (0%)..." where it hangs. No progress, cursor freezes, no response. The only other change I've made to the machine is to upgrade the RAM to 2GB of Corsair.I've disabled all other boot devices in bios (no floppy drive)
I am attempting a clean install of windows home premium 64bit, with not much success. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5553 with Toshiba MK3265GSX 320gb HDD.I have the product key and downloaded an .iso image from digital river, burned to disc and changed BIOS to boot from cd/dvd drive.I also wiped clean hard drive (with DNAB) and deleted all partitions which the OS was stored on using diskpart (I may re-partition the hard drive at a later date) and I've subsequently booted install disc. After default language and and install screens appear I receive message stating cd/dvd drivers missing.I've now started Startup repair which has been attempting repairs for over 15 mins now. Perhaps I shouldn't have run that but I was curious to see if there was any problems detected.I have now powered down laptop as I suspect that it had frozen. After reboot, it has now froze on second 'windows is loading files...' screen and disc drive is constantly whirring.I know from the microsoft website that the drivers for the Toshiba MK3265GSX are included on installation disc, so why is it stating that driver's are missing? I have the option of loading drivers from the installation disc, but I wouldn't have thought I had to do that?
i can not install nVIDIA verde 285.62 drivers in my acer laptop everytime i try it goes to nVIDIA installation menu and tells me...compatible graphic hardware not found even though i have an nVIDIA GEFORCE GT330M CUDA 1 GB in my laptop
I just bought captioned lappy off ebay without OS. I want to install Win XP. It has no dvd drive and I don't have an external drive. I have Win XP pro on a cd, and 7 ultimate on a dvd and as well as it's image in my toshiba laptop. I actually intend to follow the instructions to dual boot but my question is how do i install the first OS on a netbook with no optical drive? Also I don't know if it has a restore from partition, I will check when I get home tonight, but I don't think so.

Cannot install update 'Acer Chrystal Webcam' after downloading I must Delete the currant version but that version will not Delete.Could it be about 'Windows Installer?
I've made the impossible for the driver to work correctly but I can't. I am trying to install the correct Graphic Driver for an Acer Aspire 1410 to no avail. It is a Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family. I've tried to install it:
- Via the device manager - From a driver download directly from the Acer Website. - From Windows Update.
I have installed/uninstalled and I've ran out of ideas. Don't know what to do. Each time I try to do something on device manager there's the yellow triangle with the display driver.
I have a Compaq Presario CQ56 64-Bit (Windows 7 Home Premium) laptop that I bought before the summer, today a Windows Update has given me an Acer display update published on the 28/12/2011. I thought because I had my vga cable plugged into the TV Windows Update may have become confused but despite checking for updates again it still appears there as optional.
AMD/ATI is recognized by Windows and Windows Update and there had already been a display driver update not so long ago, so I cannnot understand why I'm receiving an update for the wrong machine?
