Turning the "precision" off in CPanel, and setting up Mouse keys to change the accelerate rates does not fully disable acceleration in all games. I have a g5 mouse and have tried using set-point to override the O/S, but that still does not fully disable it in all games.

I was told to change my sound acceleration to standard, or even turn it off completely, to eliminate the buzzing. I can't seem to figure out how to edit it though, since when I run the dxdiag there is no slider that comes up to adjust anything.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently installed an ATI Radeon 9550 HD display driver to my computer, Windows XP SP2 32bit . Before that, my computer was running in VGA mode only. But though, I have downloaded the driver and installed it with the Catalyst Control Center. After rebooting, what I got is a black screen after Windows XP boot screen. I shut down the computer and now I saw the classic WELCOME with the blue background... but nothing more. After rebooting the PC for about 5 times, I got past the WELCOME stuff and to the desktop. As I watched the Device Manager, It says the I Have Installed the ATI Driver and its secondary Driver. But though, if I right-click my desktop and go to Display Properties>Settings>Advanced>Display Adapter I saw that there was no Display Driver and I was still running in VGA. VGA sucks because you can't play any 3D games or even Google Earth won't work. Now everyday I start the PC, I have to reboot about 5 times untill I get it working. It's been almost a month since I'm doing this and it caused me alot of nerves and boredoom. But though, sometimes I think the ATI works since I boot the PC, then I see the black screen and hear that start sound like when you XP starts. I managed to acces the Narator and saw that PC was actually working, except was like blind. I am looking for some fix tips and reply ASAP.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI successfully installed the driver on my old machine for a Radeon 9200 by installing in XP Mode.
However, on my new machine which has a X1900XT, there isn't even a "Display Adapter" listed under device manager. I have tried installing the drivers from ATI's website for Vista and XP under those modes but it doesn't work.
I think I could manually install a driver if it would let me see a "Display Adapter" under device manager. Any idea on why it wouldn't show at least a generic display adapter there?
My motherboard is an Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe, maybe I need a driver to enable the PCI Express port???
I'm clueless.

My father is planning on running two 22" at a display resolution of 1920x1080 at 60hz and the maximum display resolution of the Dual link ports is 2560x1600 at 85hz.. I'm not sure whether the card will run both at 1920x1080@60hz
View 2 Replies View RelatedI often change power plan or (dis)connect the power cord depending on what I do with my laptop and where I am. Every time I do so, the display brightness changes into whatever it was last time I had the same power plan and AC power status. The display brightness has nothing to do with those settings. I adjust it manually to what I feel comfortable with in the current environment, and it's frustrating having it changed by some automatic setting that gets it wrong every time.I'm in a dark room, getting ready to watch a movie or something, everything set perfectly. Oh right, the power cord. Boom, instant 20% to 100% flash that kills my eyes. How do I disable this automatic adjusting and get full control over the brightness?

When I go back to screen resolution->advanced settings->trouble shoot the change settings button is not clickable, so therefore I cannot change the settings.
If there aren't any possible ways, is there any way I can just put my laptop screen back to default settings any thoughts?

The only way to get it work is if its on a FAT32 drive and the sound acceleration is turned to its lowest!
Its OK if there's not any way to do this, since I can just go over to XP to play!
And besides, I think there was no Hardware Acceleration control in Vista as well, right?
I tried to test Windows 7 64-bit on VirtualBox 3.0.4 but Vbox told me that I need to turn hardware acceleration on in the BIOS.. I currently have a Dell M1530 Windows 7 32-bit.
1. Why isn't this on in the first place?
2. What are the pros and cons of having it enabled?
3. Will it make by laptop hotter/slower?
I have onbored Intel GMA X4500HD which intel claims has hardware acceleration for HD movie playback.
I could never get this to work properly with vista even with the power dvd HD codec installed?
I also tried all the dodgy codec packs available (which in my experience courses more harm than good) in my quest for low cpu usage during 1080p or just any HD playback in general really. And although my monitor isn't even a HD monitor it's still above standard definition & I just like to know things are working as there advertised I guess? Plus I plan to get a HD monitor when my finances permit me to?
I also had this problem with my old pc with an ati card installed aswell.
Anyways I installed windows 7 & hardware acceleration works right out of the box, literally. No codecs & no messing about it just works as advertised. The codecs are there already & work as they should do for once. My cpu usage is down from 30/70% to 0/20% max now. It was 70/100% without any codecs & 30/70 was the best I could get with vista.
With Windows 7 Microsoft has really hit the nail on the head for me, so to speak. Bootup times are so fast & so far I haven't had to install a single codec for once.
It's like a refined vista with all the same features plus a few more just for good measure.
I have gone into Appearance and Personalisation, then clicked Adjust Screen Resolution, then Advanced Settings, I click Troubleshoot but the Change Settings button is greyed out as I can't click it, with a little administrator shield next to it. I am the only user and the admin on this computer
