I really wanted this model because it had a half-decent video card, the store i bought it from (Flanco) only had 3 exposed one (as in exposed in showroom) and the one i bought went through service because of a "minor keyboard problem". I can't return it without huge hassle because of stupid store regulations and even if i could, i can not find a better model for the money and also lose my 3 year special offer warranty

I am experiencing freezing where the whole system just halts, a crash freeze where media freezing causes the computer to make a horrendous noise, some with the shutdown of the computer following, some requiring the computer to be terminated manually.
I have had BSODs from memory to Graphics Driver issues but am now experiencing two or three Parsity issues with malfunction messages. I have no idea whats going on to my computer, I have included the dumps and the perfmon with this post. I checked the file before I uploaded and I saw that there was no AV detected on my computer despite windows displaying and recognizing Avast.
What are the types of BIOS over years up to present BIOS types ? What make each BIOS unique and better then the previous ?

When I do a search on how to sort, I get a Tutorial that tells me to open the "View" Menu item. However, as you can see from the attached, I don't have a VIEW menu on my Folder. I would like to sort these by file type so that I can save them to a CD. What am I doing wrong here?

The problem is it's making the folder full of 50+ clips too messy and I can't find the bits I need.I would just hide the files but then if I add more clips to the folder and then Vegas creates another .sfk it's not hidden.

Several of the folders in that Folder contain video clips. If I click on 'Pictures' in Libraries, it brings up those videos as well as the pictures. But when I select 'Videos' in Libraries it brings up a blank page.If I create for example a holiday folder (eg Rome 2012) containing photos, videos scanned maps and word documents, is there any way that I can click on a corresponding library category and only show that type of document in the Rome folder without having to do a sub search. I'm looking for the best way to have the option of searching all files that I specify, regardless of indexing or file extension or anything, for file contents. I know this will be slow - that's fine. I understand the indexing, limited extensions, etc... are all meant to speed up the search, which is great for most usage, but sometimes it just doesn't do what I need.

However, I am not that good with computers and don't exactly know how. I have a DVD burning software which I have taken my own personal DVDs and made a copy of them (which is not illegal by the way, I made sure and checked that). But I don't know how to do the same with various video files I have downloaded from the internet or that friends have emailed to me. Some of the files types include AVI, and MKV file types, others I cant find out what kind of file it is. I can play these on my computer and watch them, but I would like to maybe compile the video files and put hard copies of them on DVDs.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've have this issue every since I've upgraded to windows 7 from windows vista 6 months ago. I've switched my HDD to a SSD and reinstalled windows 7 and yet it still at random times spam types the numberpad 6 non stop like 6666666. It can go on for a while like 10 to 20 minute and it stops until the next random time it decides to do it again. Restarting computer stops it for a minute or 2 and starts again. All I can do is turn off the numberpad button but it will spam the right arrow key of that 6 button, basically it's the number pad 6 that's causing the problem.
I've switched 3 usb keyboards brand new ones since this been happening so it isn't keyboard issue. I've been looking online for this issue and found no famililar issues on this. I am starting to wonder if it's because of my motherboard, cpu, rams, or any hardware failure besides the harddive and keyboard that's doing this. Currently I am using a coolermaster quick rapid pro keyboard and a razer naga mouse. My computer is a dell inspirion.Also I have Norton 360 and I've scan my pc many of times but it doesn't show any sign of virus. Reinstalled windows as well. Could it be also be rootkits?
I didn't really know how to google for this (although I did), so I didn't find anything proper and like to ask you: How do I remove the "labels" from drive types in "Computer" window? What I mean:
These labels above the different drives are really annoying, as I'm accustomed at one item after another and somehow one could change it to that view in every OS every since (XP, Vista), but now it doesn't seem to work? (I tried all the context menu items )

this started happening a few weeks ago, my PC for some reason starts typing qqqqqqqq on its own.I checked and NO the letter is not stuck , it is making it very hard to chat or do anything that requires writing. View 7 Replies View RelatedRe: Toshiba laptop...my computer has been fine until recently...i'm using a wirelss mouse and keyboard...i have tried two different keyboards and am still getting the same annoying things...every single time I open a "search" box or go to type in an address bar...the letter "h" starts randomly and repeadedly typing itself. I cannot backspace quick enough at times to keep it from appearing. Also...I keep hearing the annoying "default beep" (windows ding). What are the chances that both keyboards I've used are faulty?? Probably not. If I have a virus or malware...any and all removal tools are just not picking up on it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter doing some Googling I discovered that it is impossible in Windows 7 to sort files by file extension -- one can only sort by file type, which depends on the file type description. This means that if I want to sort by file type, I need to rename the type descriptions of all my most commonly used files.
In addition, the only place where I can see a file's extension is in the file name itself, and not e.g. in the status bar when a file is selected. In Windows 7, the file type description (not the file extension) is also in the status bar.
In other words, in Windows 7 all files labelled e.g. "Opera Web Document" are sorted as if they have the same file type, regardless of whether they are .html, .htm, .mht, etc. And if I select a file and look at the status bar, the file's type is indicated as "Opera Web Document", without any clue as to the file extension. The only way for me to see the file extension is to increase the width of the "Name" column until the end of the file name becomes visible.
So... my question is:
Is there an easy way to simply rename the file type descriptions? I see that my JPG files are named "JPG File" and my PNG files are named "PNG" file, which is extremely useful. What I now want is to rename my HTML, HTM and MHT files' file types to "HTML File", "HTM File" and "MHT File", and the same would apply to all file types I often use (e.g. DOC, DOCX, XLS, XML, TXT, etc).
I was wondering why the "ftype" command doesn't display all file types associated with file extensions.For example if I execute "assoc", some of the output is
.txt=txtfile
...
.RDP=RDP.File
When I execute the "ftype" I find an entry for "txtfile" as per below but not for "RDP".file
txtfile=%SystemRoot%system32NOTEPAD.EXE %1
Note: .RDP files are remote desktop files and are opened with %windir%system32mstsc.exe
I am writing this right now because after the last BSOD it said "Windows can not start" and I had to restore to when it was previously working. So up until that point this is what I did.Since working with computers almost my entire life I know most BSOD are due to either bad memory, drivers, or bios. I started there and updated my nvidea drivers but it happened again. I moved to the motherboard bios.I did find a newer one on there and using ASUS tool I flashed the BIOS. Same thing still happened. Next I ran memtestx86 for 8 hours and it returned no errors.At this point I just decided to look for newest drivers for everything. One thing that happened consistently was that my wireless USB adapter from Cisco had to be unplugged and plugged back in for it to work. I went there first, reinstalled the drivers but still the same thing. I thought maybe it was my hard drive. I downloaded Seagates Utility tool and ran all the tests and they all passed fine. I ran defrag just for good measure along with windows version of the mem test and that passed as well. I still continued to get the BSOD and I have to tell you I'm irritated and also stumped.
Next I moved onto software. I have been using AVG free for years but I know virus programs do some crazy stuff and I got rid of that. Turned on windows defender. I decided that since the wireless adapter didn't work after these crashes maybe lets just go to a direct wired connection. I disconnected the cisco wireless adapter and I'm just using a direct connect right to my router.These come at random times.. nothing I do can trigger it. It can stay on for days and not crash and then there are times it can be up for 10 min and crash.Some of you might notice that in the CPU-Z screenshots I had to take the screenshot with the error underneath. Every time I chose either of the two slots it crashed the program.I have not done anything internally besides add some neon to my computer which does not connect to the board at all.I have seen IRQL blue screen once so I even went as far to go into the power settings for windows and make sure the usb and everything never went into any kind of "standby" mode.
I believe this is still under warranty and I would like to go in with good information if I need to challenge and get new hardware if that's what it is.On a side note I have not touched the memory physically. I know some suggestions were to reseed the memory and chip but In my opinion something that has been working for months that never moves off my desk and is never basically touched besides the power button shouldn't mean something just came loose after 4 months of owning it.Again that's just my opinion. I have removed AVG, Ad-Aware, Some webcam motion detector software (which was a joke) and the only thing that was really installed was Skyrim.

This started happening last night while i was playing Borderlands 2, it has happened at idle, playing just about any game in my library, during downloads and just browsing the web. I changed all of my accessible drivers, and it continued to happen, so i moved all of my personal files onto my external HDD. I re installed windows on my SSD (did not reformat) and reformatted my HDD. I re installed my drivers, re-enabled SLI and it ran fine for about an hour, just downloading WoW, and then happened again twice.

As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.

One BSOD is DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (ntoskrnl.exe) and the other is UNEXEPECTED_KERNAL_MODE_TRAP (ntoskrnl.exe).I have this problem across 15 identical laptops with fresh installs of Win 7 Pro 64Now my guess is this will boil down to a BIOS upgrade, but if there are driver conflicts within these dump files

Driver is not newly developed, but has had some recent changes.My client has a puzzling BSOD on one x64 machine after about 18 hours of successful operation. My x64 Win 7 machine runs fine forever. Client's box crashes in seemingly random places that indicate mem corruption.Mem test on machine was clean. Minidump is attached. WinDbg stack doesn't trace back to my code - it just shows the calls to handle the exception. Windows will sometimes load to the desktop and I am able to watch video, run windows score, check email, etc before it will BSOD. Other times, it will BSOD before getting to the windows login screen.When I use safe mode, it logs in and stays there - no BSOD.I have tried removing all extra hardware in the machine, however this has had no affect. I have also tried one stick of RAM, then another, both BSOD.
