Misunderstood a tech friend of mine and accidentally deleted both partitions when attempting to upgrade to windows 7. Now when I try to load the installation disc, it says there are no drivers anywhere and I'm unable to start the installation process. Is there somewhere I can download all new drivers?

I got my windows 7 installation cd today. and I put it into my brand new windows vista computer. the installation started, but then it suddently stopped where it said "the computer has to be restarted". After having this message on the installation screen for 15 min I clicked the off button on the computer, and started it again.
Then the nightmare began, when the computer starts, it says: "starting installation" - then the error message - "The installation process cannot be started". if I click ok. the computer restarts and the same happends. if I X it. the computer restarts and the same happens. Im completely stuck with this error and cant either go back to vista or keep installing windows 7.
Tried to hold down F8 when it starts, but nothing happens. For now I just want to go back to vista.
My Mom has an HP laptop. She recently purchased a new HP printer and I have been trying for the last 4 days to get it to install/connect. I've been in touch with HP but the links they provide aren't resolving the issues. First, using the CD that came with the printer: hangs up at around 85-90%. It doesn't not show up as installed. I copied the CD to the desktop, modified Setup.exe in CFFExplorer and Run as Administrator and it appears to completely install; however, when I go to Device Manager, it says no driver is found.
I sometimes have the option to update and sometimes that seems to work but I can't access it through Add a Printer (which has the green bar run across the top, then pulsate and freeze). Trying to install using the driver I download from HP results in no installing screen appearing but it does hang up in the background and the only way to stop it is to Restart. The same thing happens if I try to use HPs Wizard. I've installed several HP printers through the years and not had this much trouble. That doesn't even include the dozens of times I've had to reinstall my own HP printer because of its contrariness!
Additionally, attempts to uninstall the old printer results in it hanging up/freezing soon in to the process, whether I try to uninstall from the Start menu, file or Uninstall program. I'm not even being able to get the Windows Updates to install - that process also just hangs up/freezes. I've not checked her machine in a while so there are many updates; however, when I just choose 1 at a time, it still sits at 0% and never moves. The printer, when connected, is with the USB and I've tried all 4 USB ports on this just in case. Am still in touch with HP but they are sending me the usual links so I'm hoping perhaps someone here can think of something a little less ordinary!
Last night my computer lost power and died instantly because the battery was at 0% and my charger wasn't working. So I just decided to go to sleep and deal with it in the morning. Well I boot up my laptop and instead of my regular old crowed desktop with many important files, I get this: please note that I have run virus scans and results show clean, as I also have not been using the internet for a while either. Should I try a system restore because it says it dosen`t affect documents?
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst things first. Brand new discovery! Did you know that it's impossible not to backing-up and lose your old files during Windows 7 installation? That's right! Microsoft contradicting it-self in the first steps of installation preparation step by step information. At first they say that we should back-up our old files as they WILL BE deleted. Then they practically force an option of where our old Windows files will be backed up into Windows.old folder. So the folders such as "Users, Program Files, Windows ...etc" will be stored in Windows.old folder. And any other files created by you that are stored in "C:" directory will remain untouched! So don't worry about upgrading or backing up anything, since Windows 7 does it all for you! My advice, just go with a clean install and you'll be safer that way. Now back to business. So, I just built my new system and everything seems to be running fine but I realized just as I was finishing the installation for Windows 7 that I was installing the 32 bit version (silly me I thought you would be given an option to choose once it started). Anyway, I'm at the screen where it is asking me to create a user name and name my PC for the first time. I tried restarting the computer with the 64 bit version but it just loads back to the setup screen. What is the best way to get the 64 bit version installed?

A message pops up saying The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.as far as I know new programs were not added and the installation was completed the first time. I already tried safe mode but it does not allow me.
P.S. its the mini so it has no cd rom to insert the cd and it did not come with a cd.
I am unable to burn any image using window simage burner or roxio burnerwhen ever i write any image or any other thing to dvd. i get this error cuz i always verify after burning image or etc.i get this error :The disc image didn't burn successfully because an error occurred. View 4 Replies View RelatedMy old computer was getting old, so I went ahead and ordered new parts from Newegg. HAF 912 case, GTX 560 Ti, Phenom II x4 975, 8 gigs G.Skill (2 x 4) 1333 DDR3, and a Biostar A880G+ mATX motherboard, and Windows 7 Home Premium OEM (in case). I planned on using the same HDD from my old system in the new one, so I didn't order a new one. Well, I built it, everything went smooth, it POSTed with one beep and the BIOS was fine. However, when I tried to boot from my drive, it would give a System Error screen, with either Repair Computer (or something similar) and Start Windows Normally. If I click Repair Computer, it stays that way for upwards of 30 minutes, not doing a thing. If I start Windows normally, the logo flashes for a second or two and BSoD's real quick, and shuts down before I can even see anything. Then it restarts and goes to the System Error screen. Then, when I take my HDD and put it in my old system, it boots up same as is always does. That's how I'm typing here.
I've also tried changing the boot order so that the Windows 7 disc is first, but it just goes to Set Up, which is, I'm guessing, not what I want to happen.I'm hoping that it's a really simple mistake on my part, and that I messed up on something super easy, because I don't want to have to send back any parts.
I have a brand new install of Win 7, after which I tried to install a LINKSYS Wireless USB Adapter (WUSB300N) and during the copy files installation process I get ACCESS IS DENIED.and the process stops. I only have one id defined and it of course has admin authority, so I don't know what is wrong.

I got another SSD for my system, win7x64 professional, plugged it in as master and made a fresh new install on it and therefore a new mbr was created during installation. Now I need to access the working OS I have installed on the older SSD and used as a main drive before. How to make the current bootloader know that there is another windows 7 installation on a different drive that I would like to be able choose to boot in at startup?

I have just got Windows 7 Ultimate.I accept the Licence Agreement, set my partitions as i want them but when it gets to the expanding files part it will hang at 0%. This happens on both the 32 & 64 bit disc.This is a brand new purchase which I opened it about an hour ago.The laptop has a 400GB HD and 2GB of ram. It came with Home Prem x64 pre-installed, So the hardware meets the requirements.What seems to be the problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOkay, so my Microsoft security essentials did a scan on my computer last night, and found a coinminer virus; my boyfriend stayed up to watch the scan, though he said he went ahead and removed the file it was infected with instead if quarantining it. The file was kwdll or somesuch, and now that the computer has restarted, setup repair started as well. It's been running for a little under an hour, but I've heard of it freezing for 12 hours or more.
My question is, what the heck do I do if it keeps going for that long? Is that normal? I've also heard that if you power down the computer while it's doing the repair if you think it froze, it may delete all of your files...so I don't want to do that.
I do not have a windows disc, and don't know anybody with one. My computer is JUST out of warranty, as well. >_< I am posting this from my phone.
Maybe a week or two ago I was cleaning a junk from a system with revo uninstaller and have checked few more options then they are checked by default,and I erased some of the apps from start menu.That were apps which are in Accessories and System tools folders,and all Administrative tools folder.
After that I tried to approac them through Administrative tols in Control panel,but I was getting a message that a shortcut refers to a location which is unavailable,and that they are maybe moved to some other place on HD.Since I knew what have I done,and it was 3:00 AM,I decided to do a System restore,but some other day when I won't be sleepy.
Tomorrow and day after tomorrow I was kind a busy,and forgot to do a System Restore,but I was downloading some games and I was running out of a place on that partition.I was maybe a few hundreds megabytes short,and decided to delete all system restore points and turn off system protection,so I can get some extra place which was earlier dedicated to System restore.Off course,in that moment I forgot about the programs I deleted few days before but I remembered them in the same moment I turn off System protection and when restore points were gone,but a second or two too late.
So,my question is:
Is there any way so I can get back System tools and Administrative tools back?
Of course there is because I see some of them in System32 folder and in Windows folder(exe files) or maybe they are all there but I can't tell which one was where,and I don't know how I can get them back in Start menu,and reassociate Administrative tools with Control panel shortcut.
And of course,I don't have an image of a system.

I nearly cleared all the folders from appData which in turn deleted all the short cut links from start menu and taskbar.
Im on windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I accidentally deleted all the shortcuts from C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuPrograms...
And now i dont see any program in my start menu , obviously , so please tell me how to fix this problem. I have disables system restore , so can anyone just give me his/her shortcuts? The basic ones like paint etc.
My brothers laptop has apparently deleted his user account and so he cannot start it up? Im not sure about the details tbh, hes running Windows 7 on a Dell laptop and he still has the installation disc and stuff. All hes told me is that his account has been deleted and so he cant start it in normal or safe mode.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I start up my computer, my Steam starts up, then I manually start Chrome. Chrome comes up fine, Steam does too, but when I try to right click on Steam and click friends, all it does is create another steam process running at 100-108 K. Then if I close Chrome and try to reopen it, it will do the same. This happens with EVERY program after I start up. There's a 5 second window where I can open programs without issue, then after that it will only start 108 K copies of them. It takes me around 30 restarts just to get it working properly, if not more.

I have a copy of my windows 7 on my hard drive which I've used to reinstall windows 7 multiple times. For some odd reason when I try now every time I go through the process it freezes at "Installing Updates" and goes no farther. It doesn't have a percentage next to it or anything. I've deleted all the partitions, formatted it multiple times and still the same problem.

In online gaming, apparently the punkbuster fails to communicate in the right way until the process bf2.exe is set to priority "lower than normal" in the task manager. this means you have to start the game, alt+tab back to the desktop, lower the priority in the taskmanager and then start playing.this procedure has to be repeated everytime i want to play with punkbuster (so every time )And yes, I browsed all, and I mean ALL, forums of BF2 and Punkbuster to fix this issue, so far this is the only solution that makes online gaming possible.how to lower the priority of a process permanently and automatically every time the process starts up?

I now have a new printer and no matter how many times I try I cannot delete the the original printer drivers, every time I start the computer again it re installs the HP 1230 drivers even though that printer is long gone and no longer attached to the computer. Any ideas on how I can get rid of them ?

I open a text file I want to edit, then go to save my changes and I get this error:"The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process".I have full admin rights, running Win7 Ultimate x64 SP1. From a bit of research I have seen where many others have been experiencing this problem or something similar too. The only "fix" (that doesn't work all the time) is to close explorer.exe and then restart it to "release the handle"? Anyway, this is not acceptable for all the money and time I spent upgrading/configuring this new OS from XP -where I never had this problem- and seriously cuts down my productivity.Has Microsoft even acknowledged this as a bug yet? I can duplicate this scenario the second or third time I try to edit/save/delete a text file and I know that explorer.exe is the problem or a big part of it in any case. I don't want to go back to XP x64 but having to deal with this headache 10-20 times a day is just too much to ask.The file here is a game's map script & has to be saved to a .pk3 and then loaded into the program's root before it can run so i know othing else is running the file. No apps running in taskmngr either.
