I have an issue with DVD playback in both MP and MC. This doesn't happen with every DVD I play, but with many of them. The volume on the vocal portion is very low to the point of being inaudible. The background noises and music are all perfectly loud. I'm guessing it's because DVD audio is on multiple channels and there's something wrong with the way my system is handling one of them?
I'm using a SB Audigy SE.
The issue persisted after installing the drivers and utilities from the CD and after installing the Shark007 codec/filter pack. This computer is my media center so I really need DVD playback to work.
I can not get my cursor to recognize or click on anything in top portion of screen, for instance in Facebook, the top blue bar with notifications on it, I can not click anything on it, even this post could not be edited until I scrolled it down below the "dead zone" (top 2 inches on my 15" laptop screen above the )
I reinstalled my windows 7 home premium on my computer all of my old data files such as music, videos etc are still on the drive but it wont access it its only using the recovery part and how can I get it to use all of the hard drive on my computer because the recovery is only holding 15 gb and my actual hard drive has 600 gb on it and it doesn't use it.
Im starting to work with powershell and try to port my old batch files.
1)I got this lines of Code, and I dont know who to convert them to power shell. The goal is to uninstall a software using the string found in the registry.[code]
2) In former times I used PsExe to remotly execute scripts on remote positions. What would be the best practice for power shell.
3) Another question is if it is posible with power shell to tell the system (Windows 7 and/or Xp)to do a Windows System Update and install all critical updates?
I installed a new ssd drive and cloned my c drive onto it. It also cloned my system reserved partion [about 25 megabytes]. I then, at a later date, cloned my c drive [now my new ssd drive] again back to my old primary drive so that i have an up to date copy of my primary drive. But it also cloned my system reserved partion. Can i delete some of these system reserved partions. I now have 3 of them! It makes my computer look very untidy. What ones should i leave or do i need to leave them all?
I am running Windows 7 premium. The taskbar/notification/clock area @ the bottom of my desktop is huge, like nearly an inch. The Time, Day and Date are one below the other. This takes up so much space especially when u have multiple toolbars, address bar etc @ the top not 2 mention the additional loss of space (of nothingness) @ the top. Leaves less working space than I'm happy with. How do I gain back the use of that half inch in the taskbar? Is it possible 2 gain back the lost area @ the top as well?.I have already gone to Properties and changed the settings there (use small icons). It made no difference at all.

I have windows 7 HP pavilion g4 it is a go between because my other PC was beyond repair --- in regards to security I threw it out !!!
Seen several different posts about this issue but really no definitive answer as to why is occurring. Never happened with XP or Vista only Windows 7. Seems most users with this issue report having a Dell computer but mine is a Toshiba Satellite L505. I just find it very annoying to have approximately half inch of desktop space visible on top of any type maximized window, browser window, explorer window, whatever.
so i have a blue yeti, and i'm an online animator/voice actor. whenever i record audio on my blue yeti (or any other mic) i record about 4-6 inches from the mic, and turn the gain down enough that the audio doesn't peak as i yell or whatever. this is what you're supposed to do if you don't want your audio levels peaking and making your recording sound horrible and corrupted. however, afterwards, it means i have really quite recordings. not a problem right? now that it's recorded right, i can boost the volume of the entire clip afterwards right? wrong. i'm not an audio expert so i must be missing something. but why in gods name would the audio distort and peak after it's recorded successfully? it's all there, it's all clean audio. if i turn the volume on my speakers all the way up it sounds crystal clear! all i want to do is do that inside the computer so that when i upload it to Internet people don't have to turn their speakers so far up. but if i increase the clips volume in the computer, it distorts! it sounds awful! why?! i tried in sony acid and audacity and they both do the same thing! i can take sound effects, and recordings made by other producers and crank them up nice and loud, but mine just fall apart!
I bought a USB A4 Tech HU-200 HeadPhone Its volume is quite high even when the windows volume is at 0, When its at max 100 it works like dedicated speakers Is there any way to reduce the volume beyond the lowest volume of windows 7?
Note: My Headphone does not have any soft of driver or software
I just received a new keyboard today: Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate. I went from a Logitech G15.
First thing I did was connect the keyboard and install the software that came along on the CD, it probably also installed the correct drivers. First after this did I uninstall the software and drivers from the old Logitech G15. But before that, and now after, the volume buttons on my new keyboard is still not adjusting the volume when I press them.
A speaker-icon like this shows up when I press the volume buttons, so its not that the keys are not working: (ignore the text behind it, its me writing an assignment)
I recently got this problem, that my volume hotkeys stopped working, (Acer Aspire 5560G) AMD High Definition Audio. I also tryed plug in other keyboard that have's volume hotkeys but still doesn't work.
I like to listen to music loudly sometimes. I have both the volume mixer and my application's volume set to maximum levels, but it's not loud enough for my liking. Is there any way to increase the maximum sound volume in Windows 7?
OS:Windows 7 x64 RetailAMD Phenom X48gb ramNew Asus MoboRelatively new build...just changed motherboard and reformatted main drives.Problem:Random BSOD during normal use. Computer is not usually under heavy load, but mostly occurs about an hour or 2 after gaming or during heavy load instances.Weird thing is though that after the crash my computer wont boot my OS until I unplug and replug my main HDD. System BSOD then restarts instantly, and I cannot reproduce on command to tell you blue screen info. To add to problem it is hard to get a dump for this problem as the dump wont be created if I have to do the replugging of the sata cord. I was lucky (or rather unlucky) during the dump attached that I did not have to
I have had my desktop a while, however it continues to frequently shutdown randomly for an unknown reason. Initially I suspected it was a bad PSU, so had it RMAd, however same problem exists. It should be providing plenty of power to the mobo and other devices being a 500W, however I read on other forums the particular model has tendancies to automatically shutdown at PEAK LOAD. Its a OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W. This is darn annoying if it is and may still be the problem. It might be another software or hardware issue though. I have fresh installed it before suspecting it was drivers, with default recognised drivers for GPU etc. However problem remains. All hard ware is compatible[CODE]
I was just playing Gmod then all a sudden My computer crashed, it didn't BSOD just shut off. So i started it and my video-card is not working anymore neither is my dvi port on my mother board but VGA was still working. The fan on video-card still works so does the leds.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium with 4GBs of Ram and an i7 processor. When I start my laptop up, it uses about 1.5 - 1.7 GBs of Ram. Is this normal? And atm I'm running 106 processes (screenshots below) and I'm unsure which ones I can kill. I only know about Nettalk, Firefox, Thunderbird, Dropbox, sparta.exe and screen.exe.
I have an Acer w/ 8gb of ram(Newly installed was 4gb) w/ a 1TB HDD. On idle it range's from about 16-20%(1200-1600mb) I've had a few windows open w/ music video's plying etc. and it's never gone past 28% that's why I think at idle its high.
Is this normal. I opened up task manager under memory and closed some thing's I didn't need but it still seems pretty high.
I'm having some trouble starting Windows. First I was having trouble with booting into safe mode so I done some Googling and I found this page and tried it [URL] now not only can I not start my PC in safemode but not in normal mode either, with checking the option for safe mode in msconfig it now keeps trying to start my PC in safe mode over and over again. I also cannot start my PC with the last known configuration.
I tried repair my PC with my DVD but that cannot fix it. There is no system restore point or recovery saved.
I have just attached another screen to my Vaio.i used the Dual monitor setup windows 7 offers change the appearance of your displays.I chose the "extended these displays" my problem happened after applying the new settings my laptop screen went up side down while my new monitor went blue screen.how can i get my laptop screen back to normal?
i was playing minecraft when suddenly y computer freezes and it begins to restart. at that point i thought maybe: "oh, minecraft crashed my computer". but little to my knowledge it was worse than that.I have an ASUS G50vt, and it has always run pretty good and i have the rare problem, but nothing this bad.i can boot in safe mode so i deduced that is might not be the hadware then i thought that it could be java, so i uninstalled minecraft and all files related, then i went to uninstall java but i realized that i cant when in SAFE MODE.ive tried the javara thing and still nothing and i even made it to where my computer wont restart when it crashes.
I was just wondering whether or not it's unusual to have to run Chkdsk every three days or so, seeing as though my computer becomes very slow and unresponsive after a few days after running Chkdsk. After I run Chkdsk the computer is fine for a few days, but like I said, it becomes slow and unresponsive soon after. Each time I run it, new bad clusters are found.
i have win 7 home premium 64bit i try to use my pc in an account without admin rights wherever possible, but, having a complicated password for my admin account, i'm wondering how is it possible to automate the running of applications that require administrator rights? pure laziness i guess, but in the near future it will allow my kids to run certain apps without needing an admin account
