Sep 26, 2009i have installed win 7 64bit on my notebook acer core 2 duo 4gb ram. i cant load the driver for 64bit system the same problem is connected with modem as well.

Nov 10, 2009I'm experiencing some issues with my Conexant audio driver and I'm hoping someone could help me out. I have a Toshiba P100-437 laptop and for some reason my audio stops working after a couple of reboots. So here is the scenario:
I install a fresh copy of Windows 7. It installs a "High Definition Audio Device", provided by Microsoft, version 6.1.7600.16385, date 2009/07/13. When I do a windows update, it installs a driver by Conexant: "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio HD2". The sound works for a while, until after a couple of reboots when it just suddenly stops working: the equalizer in the volume control is still moving up and down but no sound is coming out of the speakers.
So I force the driver back to the Microsoft's "High Definition Audio Device", after which it works for a while again until after a couple of reboots and then its dead. Does anyone have any other drivers I may try or perhaps any other solutions?

Dec 17, 2009I have a (3 yr.) HP Pavilion dv8220ca Laptop. Looking for a driver that will be compatible with Windows 7. My friend bought the new OS for his exact same lappy (without too much concern about updating) and said that he cannot found a sound driver that will work. I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and have been looking for a driver to fix his issue, so I can fix mine.
I can't find the exact sound card, the normal driver set is a Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver. If anyone knows of a work around or a universal driver compatible with Windows 7 please let me know. So far I have tried the Conexant High Definition Audio 4.8.0.0 and I only received an ERROR.
Conexant Audio Hd - Error: Device Can't Be Started (Code 10)
Jan 28, 2009i don't have any sound, Windows 7 says that no Audiodevice (in system control) installed and Windows 7 says (in device manager) Device can't be startet. (Code 10).
I'm using a Toshiba Satellite P100 Notebook
I attempted to install Vista or XP 32Bit driver but it flop's the message "Device can't be startet" or bluescreen.
Have anybody the same error and fixed it?

May 19, 2009i'm having issues with the realtek HD audio drivers. i just installed the latest version (2.24 i think) and i have no sound. note, i did not have a prior working version under windows 7 - i just installed windows 7 RC today for the first time.
one possible issue is that it appears to be using the wrong codec - i believe that i need the ALC882 codec, but in windows 7, it appears to have installed the ALC885 codec.
anyone know how to change the codec?

Jan 12, 2009I have a 4.1 creative sound system and i can barelly hear the rear speakers , i can only adjust the DB Room Adjustment of the speakers if im in 5.1 OR 7.1 mode. Even then its not great ..
Why though not QUAD enable toom adjustment?
Also there is alot of annoying distortion through the rears..

Sep 28, 2009I previously had a stuttering issue on "only" music playback with my SigmaTel High Definition CODEC, but after rolling back my drivers to the default Microsoft tones, the audio stuttering disappeared.
Since I have never used Microsoft audio drivers, are they of the same quality as the SigmaTel's? My current version is: 6.1.7600.16385
Any issues with keeping this default Microsoft HD Audio driver?
No Digital Out Sound With VIA HD Audio Codec 1708B
Feb 3, 2009I just have installed Windows 7 B1 on my machine. I replaced the default sound drivers from M$ with the ones from NVIDIA and VIA for my board. It is a M3N78 which has (among others) a S/PDIF (or digital) output. I have this connected to a Creative Inspire 5.1. This configuration works quite well under Windows XP. Under Windows 7 I don't hear anything. Any clue how to fix that? In Sound settings or hardware manager there is nothing wrong detected.

When i plug subwoofer into the jack it wont work. However when I connected the sub. computer recognizes it and shows me that I connected sub. But theres not any sound out of the sub. I sucessfully upgraded from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32
Then I upgraded my hard disk (140Gb 500GB) and RAM (3GB to to 4GB)
Now I would like to go from Windows 7 32bit to 64bit
When I try and run the Windows 7-P-retail-en-us.x64.exe file it upacks the box then stops with this error:"We are unable to create or save files in the folder in which this application was downloaded. Please check the folder properties to make sure that you have security permission on the folder to write flies and that that folder is not read only".
I am the System Admin and I have full rights, and have moved the exe and the setup box files to My Documentsand I have modified the directory properties/attributes but I still get the same error over and over.
I searched the posts and some people stated one needs a clean install others say you can upgrade from any version so I am trying the upgrade here especially since the upgrade from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32 was smooth and did require all the extra work of a reinstall.

May 20, 2009I have a Sony Vaio VGC-RC110G and installed Windows 7 RC 32 bit and it went smoothly 'cept for 2 missing drivers. The main one is the sound device as it is NOT being read. I can't get any sound. I spent several hours on the net looking for a compatiable driver, and alot of people ran into trouble with the SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec when they upgraded to Vista. Tested a bunch of drivers (from Sony site and even updated sound drivers from Dell) and none worked.
Even downloaded some program called detective driver to help me find compatiable driver but I'd have to pay $30 to activate the program. I would but Im afraid it might not find it.

- Any ideas how I can get the 64bit version?
- For those who ordered the 32bit back-up disc kit for the extra $15 and have received it, does it come with both 32bit & 64bit?
- I've already installed and activated the 32bit version, but when I go to install the 64bit version, will I need to / is there a way to deactivate my initial 32bit install or will this not matter?
Acer Aspire 3690 W/ Conexant: "No Audio Output Device Is Installed"
Nov 5, 2011I recently upgraded an Acer Aspire 3690 to Windows 7 (32bit) and everything went well, almost. See, for life of me I can't get audio to work. (That old chestnut.) The speaker icon in the notification area displays the white cross/red circle and informs me that "No Audio Output Device is installed". Fine. Okay. Just a driver problem, right?
Well, Device Manager is showing no discrepancies and the two devices associated with the Aspire's audio chipset (Conexant) are installed and happy (Modems/HDA CX11270 Soft Modem, and System devices/High Definition Audio Controller). But there is no entry for Sound, Video and Game Controllers, and that's what concerns me. Acer's driver support page for the 3690 tells me that Realtek powers the audio, but regardless of the potentially compatible audio drivers I've tried to install (most of the Conexant drivers fail with "Driver installation failed: could not find the MEDIA device for this driver" and the Realtek drivers either have no effect or BSOD the machine) I've had no success.
Now if I was running XP then MUAA would, I'm convinced, resolve the issue, but as far as Windows 7 is concerned I'm at a loss. Best I figured, the Realtek drivers should latch onto the High Definition Audio Controller then provide an Audio Output Device, but nothing's happening. I'm convinced that the physical hardware's fine because the Soft Modem diagnostics provide feedback, and the BIOS has been updated to 3.60.

Firstly cannot alt-tab, it just doesn't stay, secondly I can't get the preview of the application on the task bar won't appear correctly. Each time I move the mouse on task bar, the preview flickers as it were.
Now the last things I installed on my system was Firefox RC1 and new nVidia drivers, now removed RC1 of firefox, updated the drivers as I thought it was a graphical error but no luck, anyone else the same issues?
Networking Problems - Win7 32 Bit And Win 7 64bit
Oct 25, 2009I have 3 computers. The 1st computer has a wired connection to the 1st wireless router. The 2nd computer has a wireless connection to the 1st router via Wireless LAN card. and the 3rd computer has a wired connection to the 2nd wireless router. The 2nd wireless router is connected to the 1st wireless router via repeater bridge with DD-WRT.
The problem is the 1st and 2nd computer connect to the homegroup just fine, but the 3rd computer can't connect to the homegroup, yet all the computers and see each other on the workgroup network just fine and I can share files as long as I share individual folders.
Also the 1st and 2nd computer can use remote desktop between each other just fine, but the 3rd computer can't be used via remote desktop, yet I can use the 3rd computer to use the first 2 computers with remote desktop.
Any ideas on what this might be?
BTW, Computer 1 and 2 are Windows 7 32bit and Computer 3 is Windows 7 64bit. But I get the same problem when all computers are 32bit.
Older Programs Into Win7 64bit
Aug 2, 2009After that success with Skype into Win7 decided to have another look at the programs I had problems with..DataDirector 2 ; EzyChart ; EzyManager...I installed an Acronis backup file, the original install with only Acronis up and running..what do you know!! have installed those 3 program now into Win7 64bit..would cost way over A$1000. to replace these "must have" for me programs plus heaps and heaps of work to transcribe Tax nec. data..
DataDirector went in easly but the other 2 took a bit of fiddling..I did have these installed in Virt. XP mode but even though MS Virt. PC is the best I have used by a long chalk, there are delays starting it up and it will hang sometimes when you first click into it..increaded Ram allacation to 1g helped a little..much much better to have all the programs in Win7
Just a quick word on Vista..have used this program from when first out, some problems with driver to start but since have found it a great program for me ..stable and better than XP.. but am finding Win7 better than both especially 64bit.... has to be the way to go I remember 8bit and 16bit..Did anyone see that program on Quantam computers?? they will be like an ocean liner to a rowboat..all I have to do is live long enough!!
