HP Pavilion Dv8220ca / Conexant High Definition Audio
I have a (3 yr.) HP Pavilion dv8220ca Laptop. Looking for a driver that will be compatible with Windows 7. My friend bought the new OS for his exact same lappy (without too much concern about updating) and said that he cannot found a sound driver that will work. I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and have been looking for a driver to fix his issue, so I can fix mine.
I can't find the exact sound card, the normal driver set is a Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver. If anyone knows of a work around or a universal driver compatible with Windows 7 please let me know. So far I have tried the Conexant High Definition Audio 4.8.0.0 and I only received an ERROR.

IDT High Definition Audio Driver Crashes Win 7
I installed Win 7 and kept the default audio driver for several months with no problems. Yesterday I checked Windows update for optional updates and saw one for IDT High definition audio. After installing and rebooting, my system became useless with 100% processor usage and no audio at all. It took about 15 minutes for the computer to catch up with me so I could roll back the driver. This is the update info: IDT - Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Installation date: ‎3/‎19/‎2009 7:16 AM Installation status: Successful Update type: Optional IDT Audio software update released in September, 2008 More information: http://winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20215950 Help and Support: http://support.microsoft.com/select/?target=hub I rolled back to the default windows driver which is "High definition audio device" version 6.1.7000.0 and dated 12/12/08. This fixed the problem. Did anybody else have a problem like this or was it just me?

SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec For Sony Vaio VGC-RC110G
I have a Sony Vaio VGC-RC110G and installed Windows 7 RC 32 bit and it went smoothly 'cept for 2 missing drivers. The main one is the sound device as it is NOT being read. I can't get any sound. I spent several hours on the net looking for a compatiable driver, and alot of people ran into trouble with the SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec when they upgraded to Vista. Tested a bunch of drivers (from Sony site and even updated sound drivers from Dell) and none worked. Even downloaded some program called detective driver to help me find compatiable driver but I'd have to pay $30 to activate the program. I would but Im afraid it might not find it.

High Definition Export To Tape
Exporting video to tape in Windows 7 RC only works for Standard definition (DV) videos. The firewire-port is open. If I export (HDV) high definition videos to tape the firewire port stay closed so no HDV is exported to tape. The taperecorder starts but no movie is recorded. On VISTA everything works(same pc-other partion)! (HDV/DV taperecorder Sony HVR-M25AP connected with a firewire cable to pc and recognised in windows7 rc) I think it's a driver problem (avcstrm.sys or/and mstape.sys). How can I replace these drivers to the "original" from the Win7 RC dvd to test that?

Conexant High Def Drivers HP G60
The microphone does not work properly on my HP G60. HP has acknowledged this to be a problem in Windows 7. Has anyone else (here) experienced the same problem? It is well discussed on the HP site. Who should fix this; HP, Microsoft or Conexant? The problem has persisted for months and HP shipped there machines knowing of the issue. Does that mean they have given up or that they are hoping for a bail out from Microsoft / Conexant? Does anyone know of a substitute driver that would get the microphone working - passably. It currently records sound but at such a poor quality that it is not useable. I have followed all of the helpful suggestions, none made a difference.

Have Realtek High Definition Sound But No Hdmi Output
I've upgraded from vista to 7 and I am getting no sound, I've searched, searched and tried alot of different things, I see alot of people on this forum with the same issues, but I've tried most of them. I've installed and unistalled all the different drivers from realtek, but no luck. I have realtek high definition sound but no hdmi output. In my device manager it says the sound driver is installed properly, but when I tried to test the sound it fails to test tone, I don't know if it has to deal with an audio codec. I have regular speaker that connect to a sound jack. At this point I am quite desperate. I've spent all night trying to figure this out.

Issue With Conexant Audio Driver
I'm experiencing some issues with my Conexant audio driver and I'm hoping someone could help me out. I have a Toshiba P100-437 laptop and for some reason my audio stops working after a couple of reboots. So here is the scenario: I install a fresh copy of Windows 7. It installs a "High Definition Audio Device", provided by Microsoft, version 6.1.7600.16385, date 2009/07/13. When I do a windows update, it installs a driver by Conexant: "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio HD2". The sound works for a while, until after a couple of reboots when it just suddenly stops working: the equalizer in the volume control is still moving up and down but no sound is coming out of the speakers. So I force the driver back to the Microsoft's "High Definition Audio Device", after which it works for a while again until after a couple of reboots and then its dead. Does anyone have any other drivers I may try or perhaps any other solutions?

Conexant Ac-link Audio Driver Problems
I installed W7 beta on an Acer Aspire 1650 laptop which has a Conexant ac-link audio onboard soundcard. With the default driver installed by windows, the sound was very bad and I found a workaround in this forum to replace the two sys files of the driver with more recent ones. Anyway, I have a terribly big latency when recording sounds with mic or line-in. On win XP the latency is very less significant. Why does this happen? Is there a way to improve the audio latency?

HP Pavilion Dv2000 Audio Not Working
I recently installed Windows 7 on my HP Pavilion dv2000 notebook. I did this without noticing it was muted. Now I have no audio. I have tried downloading a variety of vista compatible Conexant High-Definition Audio drivers and as yet none have worked. The audio icon in my taskbar has a red circle with a white cross in it. When I try to install the latest driver through windows task manager it says I have the latest one. When I do a windows update I get no difference. Not really sure what I should do now. I'm out of ideas. Help? Please?
