I have a 4.1 creative sound system and i can barelly hear the rear speakers , i can only adjust the DB Room Adjustment of the speakers if im in 5.1 OR 7.1 mode. Even then its not great ..
Why though not QUAD enable toom adjustment?
Also there is alot of annoying distortion through the rears..
I just have installed Windows 7 B1 on my machine. I replaced the default sound drivers from M$ with the ones from NVIDIA and VIA for my board. It is a M3N78 which has (among others) a S/PDIF (or digital) output. I have this connected to a Creative Inspire 5.1. This configuration works quite well under Windows XP. Under Windows 7 I don't hear anything. Any clue how to fix that? In Sound settings or hardware manager there is nothing wrong detected.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm having issues with the realtek HD audio drivers. i just installed the latest version (2.24 i think) and i have no sound. note, i did not have a prior working version under windows 7 - i just installed windows 7 RC today for the first time.
one possible issue is that it appears to be using the wrong codec - i believe that i need the ALC882 codec, but in windows 7, it appears to have installed the ALC885 codec.
anyone know how to change the codec?

I previously had a stuttering issue on "only" music playback with my SigmaTel High Definition CODEC, but after rolling back my drivers to the default Microsoft tones, the audio stuttering disappeared.
Since I have never used Microsoft audio drivers, are they of the same quality as the SigmaTel's? My current version is: 6.1.7600.16385
Any issues with keeping this default Microsoft HD Audio driver?

Only desktop speakers are working. When i plug subwoofer into the jack it wont work. However when I connected the sub. computer recognizes it and shows me that I connected sub. But theres not any sound out of the sub. Can anyone help me ?

Its a dell studio 1555 with IDT High Definition Audio Codec with windows 7 x64 Ultimate OS. I had to give a clean OS after a fatal crash and sound is giving a weird problem from then. No sound through my speaker;only through headphones. If I remove headphone then IDT setup options pop ups and I cant' work until headphone is there.... Downloaded the latest driver from dell's recommended site and still not good...tried to uninstall and restricting the auto installation by windows from "gpedit.msc" and manual installation through the latest driver..yet nothing happened..

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Vaio VGC-RC110G and installed Windows 7 RC 32 bit and it went smoothly 'cept for 2 missing drivers. The main one is the sound device as it is NOT being read. I can't get any sound. I spent several hours on the net looking for a compatiable driver, and alot of people ran into trouble with the SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec when they upgraded to Vista. Tested a bunch of drivers (from Sony site and even updated sound drivers from Dell) and none worked.
Even downloaded some program called detective driver to help me find compatiable driver but I'd have to pay $30 to activate the program. I would but Im afraid it might not find it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy sound is working but "line in" and stuff wont show up in sound. So I have sound but no mic. The driver says its a Microsoft driver. The sigmatel audio drivers I tried using were all distorted when I installed them as in the sound would work and everything would show up in Sound but was messed up. Its obviously the wrong driver so I uninstalled it and put the "Microsoft" one back.

When a sound plays on the computer, it makes a funny clicking noise at the end of it almost like it has got stuck- The problem can be temporary solved by changing the audio settings but when you log off and back on the problem still persists.

I checked my playback devices, and it shows a green bar going up and down indicating that the sound should be working, but i can't here jack.
If i switch my sound in playback devices to my 42 inch flat screen, sound comes threw fine... i HIGHLY doubt my speakers are broken as they were working before i reinstalled windows.
In WMP, SRS trubass and proper EQ sound much better in my speakers, and I also want to apply this sort of enhancement (Or as close as possible) to sounds coming from my browser, for example.Is there a program or system in place I could use to do this?

My g35's still have sound but my Logitech Z5500 nothing, I have tried everything, updating, re installing the Realtek sound drivers, restoring the pc, even wired the speakers up to my partners media PC and sound comes through ruling out speakers.
I have tried upgrading the bios, been in bios looking around everything is enabled, in playback device option the green bar is filling up indicating everything is fine there. I have tried a SPDIF Optical cable, nothing, the standard black, green and orange cables, and nothing, I'm at witts end with the thing at the moment.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm on the verge of re-installing Windows. It started earlier today, I'd just installed Call of Duty: World at War off Steam, tried to launch it and it kept crashing. Tried a few things, but nothing worked and read it might be a sound driver issue. Tried updating my ASUS Xonar DX drivers to the latest version, but once the PC had restarted I had no sound and a the speaker on the taskbar said there's no output device installed.
Uninstalled these drivers and tried installing the ones I was using and same problem. I opened up playback devices and the default speakers were my monitor as I connect via HDMI from my graphic card to my main monitor. The "set default" option was greyed out and I couldn't change the default speakers unless I disabled the HDMI audio, but still I had no sound. Tried uninstalling the graphic drivers and re-installing the drivers first, but still nothing. Even when the only audio device was the sound card, there was no sound.
If I troubleshoot, it says the audio device is disabled, even though it isn't. I've checked all the audio services and they're all running. I even tried enabling my onboard audio again, but I still get the same problem of the audio device apparently being disabled. I ran an sfc /scannow, and that fixed a few things, but still no audio. Only thing I can think of doing now is just re-installing Windows.
I have just installed a new PC, which has Realtek HD Audio on board.The problem I encounter, is that when using the Realtek HD Audio Driver, I get a "blip" sound before and after each sound, almost as if the speaker port is being enabled and disabled.I should point out, that I still get this blip through my front speakers, even when sound is coming out of rear speakers only (such as when performing a windows sound test).I should also point out, that when using the Windows 7 sound drivers, I do not have this problem - all is fine! Except for the big fact, that my rear speakers are not enabled as Windows 7 drivers insist on driving them all through the same jack port, which is why I need to run the Realtek HD Audio Manager & Driver.

Configured sound settings to 7.1 audio. There is no sound through the headset when running the test sound. The volume control dialogue box shows audio levels are being produced (green level indicator moves up and down).

Now I have realtek hd audio manager installed. I have a set of speakers plugged in which I know work because i plug the cord into my iphone and the speakers work great. Now I plug into the green input hole (which by the way, I should say that everything worked great before I recently reinstalled windows 7). When playing music I look at the mixer and see that all programs playing the music and the speakers have the green bar going up and down to the music. But the bar that says system sounds does not report any sound ( no green bar going up and down).
