I have connect my laptop using an HDMI cable to my TV. And from my tv I have connected my two HiFi speakers. When the TV is on an AV channel I have sound coming from the TV and HiFi speakers but when I switch it to the HDMI source channel, sound only comes from the TV and not HiFi speakers. This is frustrating because I want to watch movies on my TV through my laptop and get the feel of some surround sound through the HiFi speakers but it is not working!

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy sound is working but "line in" and stuff wont show up in sound. So I have sound but no mic. The driver says its a Microsoft driver. The sigmatel audio drivers I tried using were all distorted when I installed them as in the sound would work and everything would show up in Sound but was messed up. Its obviously the wrong driver so I uninstalled it and put the "Microsoft" one back.

When a sound plays on the computer, it makes a funny clicking noise at the end of it almost like it has got stuck- The problem can be temporary solved by changing the audio settings but when you log off and back on the problem still persists.

The in-built speakers work well. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the high definition audio drivers. I checked my playback devices, and it shows a green bar going up and down indicating that the sound should be working, but i can't here jack.
If i switch my sound in playback devices to my 42 inch flat screen, sound comes threw fine... i HIGHLY doubt my speakers are broken as they were working before i reinstalled windows.
In WMP, SRS trubass and proper EQ sound much better in my speakers, and I also want to apply this sort of enhancement (Or as close as possible) to sounds coming from my browser, for example. Is there a program or system in place I could use to do this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I updated my PC today and when it came back on there was no sound what so ever! My g35's still have sound but my Logitech Z5500 nothing, I have tried everything, updating, re installing the Realtek sound drivers, restoring the pc, even wired the speakers up to my partners media PC and sound comes through ruling out speakers.
I have tried upgrading the bios, been in bios looking around everything is enabled, in playback device option the green bar is filling up indicating everything is fine there. I have tried a SPDIF Optical cable, nothing, the standard black, green and orange cables, and nothing, I'm at witts end with the thing at the moment.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm on the verge of re-installing Windows. It started earlier today, I'd just installed Call of Duty: World at War off Steam, tried to launch it and it kept crashing. Tried a few things, but nothing worked and read it might be a sound driver issue. Tried updating my ASUS Xonar DX drivers to the latest version, but once the PC had restarted I had no sound and a the speaker on the taskbar said there's no output device installed.
Uninstalled these drivers and tried installing the ones I was using and same problem. I opened up playback devices and the default speakers were my monitor as I connect via HDMI from my graphic card to my main monitor. The "set default" option was greyed out and I couldn't change the default speakers unless I disabled the HDMI audio, but still I had no sound. Tried uninstalling the graphic drivers and re-installing the drivers first, but still nothing. Even when the only audio device was the sound card, there was no sound.
If I troubleshoot, it says the audio device is disabled, even though it isn't. I've checked all the audio services and they're all running. I even tried enabling my onboard audio again, but I still get the same problem of the audio device apparently being disabled. I ran an sfc /scannow, and that fixed a few things, but still no audio. Only thing I can think of doing now is just re-installing Windows.
I have just installed a new PC, which has Realtek HD Audio on board. The problem I encounter, is that when using the Realtek HD Audio Driver, I get a "blip" sound before and after each sound, almost as if the speaker port is being enabled and disabled.I should point out, that I still get this blip through my front speakers, even when sound is coming out of rear speakers only (such as when performing a windows sound test).I should also point out, that when using the Windows 7 sound drivers, I do not have this problem - all is fine! Except for the big fact, that my rear speakers are not enabled as Windows 7 drivers insist on driving them all through the same jack port, which is why I need to run the Realtek HD Audio Manager & Driver.
PC is installed with Windows 7 Ultimate
Realtek Audio Driver Version: 6.0.1.5898
Direct X Version: 11.0
Audio Codec: ALC662
Speaker Setup: Quadrophonic

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed my audio driver for my gigabyte ud3 b3 motherboard. I got the driver from gigabyte's website. It is the 64 bit windows 7 version. Now I have realtek hd audio manager installed. I have a set of speakers plugged in which I know work because i plug the cord into my iphone and the speakers work great. Now I plug into the green input hole (which by the way, I should say that everything worked great before I recently reinstalled windows 7). When playing music I look at the mixer and see that all programs playing the music and the speakers have the green bar going up and down to the music. But the bar that says system sounds does not report any sound ( no green bar going up and down).

View 1 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine re-installed his Windows 7 64 bit several weeks ago. Now, everytime he plays some music on the WMP or watch videoclip on the popular video websites, or either watching a movie on KMPlayer there are some noises every with interval 3~7s and duration no more than 1s, from what he told me they sound like scratching or something. He doesn't experience any problems while playing games.
He is using Windows 7 SP1/64bit,
GeForge 9800GT/GTX
4 gigabytes of ram
and core2quad intel processor.
Couple of days ago he installed VirtualBox to test 1 program compability on XP, when the windows got installed he went to watch a video while drivers are installing and noticed that the problem was gone. Though, if the virtual machine is offline the problem persists, while if its in it's gone. I can't really explain that thing to myself, my brain can't perform such a process. It's like something happening on Jupiter to influence the size of my d...Things done so far: Re-installed the newest drivers several times, tried with couple packets of older drivers, re-installing of old/new video drivers, older versions than DX11, removing all the drivers completely, no change. he recorded 1 minute of the video he was watching with Bandicam, he said he heard the sounds 15~20 times in that 1min of video, I didn't heard anything other than the video sound.
*Re-installing/changing the OS is not an option, as he will have a lot of important data loss.
*He won't pay 35EU for new sound card just because of some assumptions, while it was perfectly fine 30 minutes before he re-installed, nor I will advise him to do so.
I've been looking around for 2 days I and haven't been able to solve this. At first I thought my headset had died. so I bought a new one, but windows still des not record any sounds. (used ventrilo and the vocale windowsetup to see if it picked up anything, it doesn't seem like it.Then, I figured it was the onboard sound. So I grabbed a spare soundcard from the shop and installed it, but the result stays the same.I tried boosting to +30 DB, all people get is static, no real sound capture. I uninstalled and and reinstalled the manucaturer drivers as others have suggested in other threads but it didn't work either.I am thinking the problem is with windows itself, but I would like to avoid reinstaller everything from scratch (saving myself 7 hours!)

View 4 Replies View RelatedI think I got all my drivers figured out except for the sound card. I've tried the Lenovo site but it says Vista should use the Microsoft drivers and those don't seem to be working. In Device Manager I see "Multimedia Audio Controller" with the ! icon by it. "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver." I search for updates and find nothing... I tried the XP version but that didn't work.
