I was going through uninstalling programs that were useless and a space waster, however accidentally clicked HD Conexant, and now the souns is terrible and SRS Labs "unable to find compatible SRS Audio Device. I Have a ASUS K52J series, and the website does not offer any clues to what was actually installed. How to restore my audio driver back to normal.

I attempted to install Vista or XP 32Bit driver but it flop's the message "Device can't be startet" or bluescreen.
Have anybody the same error and fixed it?
I recently upgraded an Acer Aspire 3690 to Windows 7 (32bit) and everything went well, almost. See, for life of me I can't get audio to work. (That old chestnut.) The speaker icon in the notification area displays the white cross/red circle and informs me that "No Audio Output Device is installed". Fine. Okay. Just a driver problem, right?
Well, Device Manager is showing no discrepancies and the two devices associated with the Aspire's audio chipset (Conexant) are installed and happy (Modems/HDA CX11270 Soft Modem, and System devices/High Definition Audio Controller). But there is no entry for Sound, Video and Game Controllers, and that's what concerns me. Acer's driver support page for the 3690 tells me that Realtek powers the audio, but regardless of the potentially compatible audio drivers I've tried to install (most of the Conexant drivers fail with "Driver installation failed: could not find the MEDIA device for this driver" and the Realtek drivers either have no effect or BSOD the machine) I've had no success.
Now if I was running XP then MUAA would, I'm convinced, resolve the issue, but as far as Windows 7 is concerned I'm at a loss. Best I figured, the Realtek drivers should latch onto the High Definition Audio Controller then provide an Audio Output Device, but nothing's happening. I'm convinced that the physical hardware's fine because the Soft Modem diagnostics provide feedback, and the BIOS has been updated to 3.60.
If i remove/uninstall 'High Definition Audio Device' Driver in Device Manager will Windows Update find it again?Because im having crackling issues basicly the sound is really choppy and choppy basicly and it makes my ram go to 100%

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing some issues with my Conexant audio driver and I'm hoping someone could help me out. I have a Toshiba P100-437 laptop and for some reason my audio stops working after a couple of reboots. So here is the scenario:
I install a fresh copy of Windows 7. It installs a "High Definition Audio Device", provided by Microsoft, version 6.1.7600.16385, date 2009/07/13. When I do a windows update, it installs a driver by Conexant: "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio HD2". The sound works for a while, until after a couple of reboots when it just suddenly stops working: the equalizer in the volume control is still moving up and down but no sound is coming out of the speakers.
So I force the driver back to the Microsoft's "High Definition Audio Device", after which it works for a while again until after a couple of reboots and then its dead. Does anyone have any other drivers I may try or perhaps any other solutions?
I get the above error when I try to run discovery on my laptop connected to a router. It should pick up the desktop pc and also the NAS i have attached to the router as well. I can map a drive to the NAS but cannot see it in the network view. I can also open the web based browser to the NAS and the router.
As always it was working yesterday,,,any ideas?

It used to work and now it don't?? During boot up I see the drive in the bios messages on my screen. Also when I look in device manager it shows the drive and says this device is working properly. However, when I click on "computer" its not there and no software program such as backup finds the drive either. I have tried uninstalling the drive in device manager and then rebooting. No luck? View 3 Replies View RelatedI turned my computer on to find no audio playing. My main audio device plays bac audio from DAW just fine but if I load a video in WMP i get a code C00D11B1. If I try to play a test tone in the sound settings I get "Failed to play test tone". I have other audio devices connected and also get the same errors which makes me think this is a registry error or some windows communication error. The only thing I think might have caused this is when I was trying to get my ram to run at 1866. This is a new build and the ram should run at this speed as it is in the QVL but that is another issue. I should also mention that I have tried reloading the device drivers, updated the BIOS, and restyored windows from a previous state with no change.

I recently updated my windows vista to windows 7. But for some strange reason windows 7 wont recognise my graphic card. The graphic card I have is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT,, and I have tried to install the drivers from NVIDIA website but it wont let me install.. it says "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue" and at the bottom is says "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". When I go on Windows Experience Index.. everything seems to be fine except graphics and gaming graphics:

my problem lies in the installation of windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on my system. I custom built this computer and after using the installation disk that contains both 32 and 64 bit. On my brother's computer we used this disk and it automatically installed to 64 bit without making us choose. However on my machine, it automatically goes to 32 bit even though all the parts are 64 bit compatible. how can I install 64 bit windows 7 to utilize all 8 gb of memory. I have tried reinstalling i using the disk multiple times, each time giving me the 32 bit system.
