Computer Stops Recognizing 2nd Video Card When Xfire Enabled?
Jan 2, 2013
I have an Asus X58 motherboard, a pair of ATI 5850 video cards, and a pair of monitors running DVI into the primary 5850 (extended desktop). When I am not running crossfire, my device manager sees 2 5850 cards as does the catalyst control center. I can select "enable crossfire" from the control center; however, when I did that my computer became unresponsive and I had to reboot. When I reboot the computer and click on the performance tab of the catalyst control center, the only option is "AMD Overdrive", the crossfire option is no longer there. The device manager only sees one card. The only way I can get my computer to recognize both cards again is to remove the Xfire cable from the 2 video cards.
I have a ACER aspire REVO loaded with the latest WIN 7 and updated drivers. It freezes randomdly when watching internet video from any source (all the way from Netflix, to you tube or private sites). When freezed it doies not respond to anything! Monitoring shows CPU with zero activity. Sometimes I can only move the mouse, but it does not respond to any click. I freezes anywhere from a couple of seconds to a couple of minutes (while having crazy sound) but then it continues running normally, excuting the clicks done while frozen. It happens very often. It does not happend when playing video fron hard drive, nor whith any other situation; only when playing streaming video. Video is well buffered.
sadly my SD card stops working from my HP computer,i updated the drivers but still is not working, when i put my SD card on it i see lights but my computer is not detecting it,
My Windows 7 x64 when boots sometimes does not recognizes my USB keyboard. By unpluging the kb and plugin it back it starts working . Some other times the system just drops the kb -sound is given- unplug plug the kb and it works again.
I have a "SanDisk Ultra CompactFlash" 4GB card and an internal card reader (HP desktop). When I insert the card into the reader, the green light above the slot turns on as if it recognizes the device, but it doesn't show up. Device Manager says that the driver is installed and working properly, and I have uninstalled it,reinstalled it, and restarted my computer. A system restore isn't really an option because it isn't my computer.
I just installed a 2nd video card & windows isnt seeing it or the other two monitors that are plugged into it?I went to Screen Resolution>Detect & it isnt see it?And I started the computer up from shutdown with the graphics card fully installed with both monitors plugged into it.
I need to replace my video card (desktop computer) and I'm not sure what to install. There are so many. I don't play video games, but like the underwater films etc.
Every time I start my computer my internal card reader has to be disabled and then enabled in device manager before it will work properly. I put a SD card in it and auto open doesn't work. I check My Computer and it shows that it's there but when I double click it to open I get a message saying to please insert the SD card. Once I go to device manager and disable and enable it orks fine. I tried different cards but it makes no difference. I installed a different card reader but the new one does the same thing.I tried doing a repair install but it completes and says the upgrade was not successful?I am running Windows & Pro 64-bit. This is a Renesas controller and I am using the latest driver 2.1.36.0 with firmware 4015.
A card that i got installed recently it installed fine after start up but is not letting me install or even recognizing any hardware i plug into it. It might be a dodge driver that was intalled but ive uninstalled a few times and windows 7 doesnt even ask me after boot up for a installer it just searches the net and installs by itself. I need to get this fixed fast as i have lots of hardware i want to connect with it.
Windows 7 not reconigzing my Graphics Card. My taskbar is not functioning properly along with a lot of Windows 7's new graphic features. My drivers won't install properly, or they will and nothing will happen or it will ask me if I want to replace files.. and I do and still nothing works.
i have installed Microsoft Midtown Madness on my windows 7 PC but it does not recognize my graphics card. This game worked on windows XP but i Upgraded To Windows 7 and now it wont so the graphics are running on software not hardware. i have the same hardware as before and it all is compatible with windows 7. my graphics card shows up in other games but no this one.
Okay so I just install windows 7 32bit(clean install, not upgrade) and it's not recognizing my graphics card. All it says is "Standard VGA adapter".
I've tried installing drivers but it never works and I also tried uninstalling the standard vga adapter via device manager too but it reinstalled itself. Btw my graphics card is a ATI Radeon xpress 200.
Way back when windows 7 was in beta and i was a beta tester everything worked fine.
it has been a while since the last time something went wrong with my laptop, but it's back on and I need your help on this one. If you're not familiar with Xfire real-time messenger, you can check it out here: Xfire - Gaming Simplified, It's really a simple and easy communication tool to use, especially favorite in gaming communities. I recently dealt with an issue concerning BS Player and it forced me to install and uninstall a lot of codecs, sometime in the process, it messed up something with my Xfire settings. There was also this huge crash there once, it crippled and disabled all my display settings, e.g. folders and thei appearance, such as thumbnails, sorted either by type or name or even some programs associated with certain file types, such as .zip - GONE! - no idea, where this came from, but I believe it crashed and damaged some registry values and resetted some settings to the default. This problem is very similar to the outline x show content while dragging issue. It's however only happening, when resizing either the whole messenger (only a very thin outline, so it can be tolerated. and resizing chat-window, there appears exactly the same thick outline, as it though, it would be dragged, but it shouldn't show that! Because outline was disabled, when dragging the whole window, it's all right, no outline, but when you want to make it smaller or bigger, it shows and it looks awful. Maybe some registry went wrong or I don't know.
"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. I have 4 USB ports in the back which are connected to my printer, mouse, keyboard and external hard drive which are all functioning fine.
I have two USB ports on the front which are unoccupied. I have an internal memory card reader in this desktop, and that's the only thing I think it can be.
To resolve the problem it is asking me to reconnect the device or replace it. I have disconnected and reconnected th memory card reader while the pc was on, the pc recognizes a device has been disconnected and reconnected, but not what it is.
Under device manager, it says, "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" I have therefore disabled it for now, but would like to get it working. Do you think this problem wil be fixed automatically in an update sometime.
When I go to driver details, it says "No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device" And when I click on update driver, it says I have the latest driver.
To wits end I am stumped after installing a new SSD HD today and clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit OS.The problem I am having is that in device manager under Display Adapters it list Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. Also for Monitors it Lists Generic PnP Monitor.I have downloaded and updated the latest drivers for each hardware and a I am still getting the same result. This is frustrating since I could not image my old version of Windows 7 from a larger, slower HD to the new/faster SSD HD. Windows 7 imaging suggests that the new HD must be larger than the old HD in order to do an image restore.I have read this is not the case however found that in no way have I been able to successfully image restore my old OS from the larger HD to the new smaller SSD HD.
I have a new computer running Windows 7. It is functioning well, apart from the firewire card not being recognized. Pages on the web offering advice on this kind of problems start their solutions with going to the device manager and expanding the "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" node in the device tree. Only I don't have such a node. How can I get the "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" node to appear in the device manager?
So I installed win 7 on a new WD 2TB Sata3 drive, I enabled AHCI before installing. I have two hdd which I use as storage, but after the reinstall only one of them show's up in my computer. I can see the other one on device manager. Does this have something to do with the AHCI? Never enabled it before now.

i own a dell precision 360. i recently upgraded to windows 7 and i noticed that my Internet videos are streaming with good audio but not good video. meaning that the audio goes on without stopping while the video is having some hiccups.
I'm running MS Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell laptop. Normally, the screen saver works as expected. About half the time, after I log off and shut down, the screen saver is not enabled when I restart.
I am having a problem while playing movies in AVI format. Video stop for a couple of seconds after every 3 or 5 minutes. My drivers are up-to-date. Having a laptop with high specifications...so no problem about low specifications and same movies run perfectly on other laptops.
I have begun to experience an issue with a Nividia GeForce 7300 Video graphics card. It happens when I am playing solitare or writing an email, which is the screen freezes and I have to turn off the computer to regain the monitor function or the computer. The message that I captured in relationship to the issue is WD-20110802-1520.dmp syndata.xml WERInternalMetadata.xml - Video Hardware Error.I have also seen a pop-up that says the NVIDIA card has stopped and successfully recovered.
turn on the computer for windows 7 I have to press f1 because it is looking for an adapter grahpics card. Then when I get to my screen is says "Catalyst Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled grahpics card. update your AMD graphics driver or enable your AMD adapter using Display Manager. I only bougt the Dell tower and not a new monitor.
I have built them formatted them, fixed them added components many many times...This is my issue, Internet explore won't open....well it opens and I get a ap crash notification. I take out both of my different videos cards and use internal video and it does not crash. The problem is this is my living room movie file player and the video cards make a huge difference....I also need explorer as well....now Chrome works but that is not what I want..
I purchased diablo 3 for my husband & my video card is not supported so he's unable to play, my computer is a HP P624 f-b desktop with a Intel GMA intregrated graphics, I am aware I need to up my power supply also, I have no idea what video card can be used to upgrade so the game is playable, not looking to spend a fortune?
PI have to use onboard sound card to have audio through HDMI output from video card. The external sound card installed is Xonar DG and it comes with SPDIF output header to be interfaced with video card. But I do not see no such header on the video card. I wonder what video card has such an interface header.
