Bought from roommate and replaced his hard drive with a brand new hard drive (2 weeks).
He never had any issues with freezing or BSOD. We've reseated all hardware, completely removed dust, temperatures are consistently between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius, CHKDSK showed 0 bad sectors, Memtest had 0 errors, several antivirus/malware programs have come up 100% clean.
Had no issues the first week with this computer. Components are all of various ages (under 1.5 years), power source is 1250W CoolerMaster, video card is ~7 months old, memory is also ~7 months old, motherboard and processor are ~1.5 years old.
Graphics card(SAPPHIRE 7950 3GB with Boost) does not indicate any error, it never gets above 50C, there are no artifacts, and it runs smooth as butter when it works(Hitman Absolution and Shogun total war 2).CPU doesn't overheat either, my NH-D14 keeps it(3930k) cool at below 50C at all times.
Fixes already tried:
Changing SATA cable on SSD
Reseating GPU/Power connections
reinstalling drivers/installing new drivers
updating BIOS
underclocking GPU.
There are no bluescreens, error codes, or anything of that sort, it freezes the frame and a loud buzzing comes from the monitor.Games are all installed on the SSD(Intel 520 Cherryville 180GB)Games ran through Steam new build, used less than 5 hours, max. After turning off the computer for a period of time, it'll let me play for 20-ish minutes, but then trying to reboot and play again results in near instant crash(2-5 minutes of play).
I have a custom gaming pc I made myself, it has worked fine for about 2 years, recently I updated my mobo, psu, and cpu and I also got some ram, and about 2 months later my pc started freezing randomly during playing games or other common use. I found out the new ram I had got was dead, so I took it out and it worked fine no freezes for about a month, now it started freezing again, I got brand new ram today and installed it and it still freezes. Its pretty random, I can go a hour some times and others 5 min of playing a game of whatever. I think it might be a hdd issue, I have a ssd as my boot drive and a 1 tb drive for just steam and games, and a third hdd for programs. I defrag the 2 hdds every so often.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new custom built gaming PC and it works fine in terms of performance. I've had the PC for just over a week and on two occasions I have had the problem where the PC would just completely freeze to the extent that I can't open task manager, move the mouse and the keyboard would stop working. Also the Skype call I was in would just stop. This would force me to have to reboot my PC using the button on the tower to shut it down. So far the two occasions have happened when I'm not actually on a game and when the problems did happen I was using two different programs. The first occasion I was on OpenOffice and the second occasion. I was just browsing using Firefox so I don't think it is program specific.
Here are my specs:
Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.4ghz
8gb 1333mhz ram
Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium
Gainward GTX 660ti
Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard
600w Xigmatek PSU
The first crash happened two days after owning the new pc, the second crash happened today. Is there anyway I could access a crash log?
I recently built my first PC three days ago...

When I first installed windows it started to work just fine but I soon noticed that it would randomly freeze every 15-30 minutes of use, but not on a particular program or anything. I assumed it was drivers so I installed the latest drivers for my GPU and MOBO and keyboard. It seemed fine again until it started crashing again. I ran a GPU burn test and a CPU burn test it passed both. (I tried runing memtest86+ but it froze at like 12%) Then I tried fixing the registry so I downloaded ccleaner and fixed the registry problems. Freezes continued. I finally decided to re install windows so I did and the problems still continued. I am at a loss of what to do and can't think of anything else.
My computer system crashes when I play most video games (only company of heroes and civilization 5 wont crash). I have already ran all the stress tests including memtest 86+, prime95 and furmark without any errors/crashes. I suspected that it was a driver issue so I decided to do a clean reinstall of windows 7 and then install all the drivers. It had absolutely no effect I updated my motherboard and video card BIOS but that didnt help either. I tried disabling ULPS and 2D clocks for my video card but nothing happened. The only critical event that is logged in event viewer is "kernel ID 41" (Its just a notification that my computer was shut off unexpectedly). When the computer crashes, a black screen will appear and the last bit of audio that was playing will get distorted and it will keep on playing(It will make a loud BRRRRR noise).I have to then manually restart the computer and boot back into windows.
system specs:
phenom ii x6 1050t @3.9ghz 1.46v (max temp 52C)
8 GB kingston hyper x 1600mhz memory

OCZ modxstream 700 watt PSU
1 TB western digital HDD
corsair c70 with 6 120mm cooling fans
Having an issue with my laptop and gaming, the games should by no means cause it to hang like this. Even older games like Half life will hang, I will be playing along and the game will hang, or freeze for a few seconds then go back to normal. This is kinda frustrating especially while playing online.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy new computer shuts down completely when playing DirectX games like COD and Crysis. First I thought it was a heating problem but I ruled that out when I kept the case open and monitored the temperatures. It can also happen within the first minute of a game, but it could happen at a later stage as well. There's no real pattern.
My system specs are:
Windows 7 RTM x64
AMD Phenom 9550 Quadcore Black Edition
4GB DDR2 memory
Gigabyte M61PME-S2P with the F4 Bios (latest)
Gigabyte GV-N250 (Geforce 250GTS with 1GB of memory
Latest drivers from Nvidia installed.
I'm looking for what would perform better and give best performance in-game? I'm wondering which OS would be best suited. As of now i am on XP and my system spec are
Intel Q8400@2.66 Ghz
Xfx hd 6870 1gb
3gb ddr2 ram.
Will win 7 take more ram to run or will it give me better fps than xp ??
So I think I downloaded a virus. I was watching a show and it told me to watch i have to download a flashplayer(BTW it wasn't porn). So I did (I am so dumb T_T) and it turned off my whole entire PC. I was so scared!. So I turned it back up it said that the startup won't load and it was trying to repair it. After it was done it said you have to restart your pc. But it gave me that same startup couldn't load and has to repair. So I put in my Windows 7 os disk. And when It was done with step 2 it told me to restart to finish the process. I did and it put me back to step 1 and start over.

I have been playing fifa 13 at low settings for weeks on resolution 1280x720 and had a normal performance. Suddenly computer slowed down and i cant play fifa fluently anymore. I tried even other games like fifa 12 pes 13 hitman etc. BUT it doesnt work anymore fast. I tried even formating my pc but still it is slow.
A couple of days ago I did something really stupid: I tried to download a game for free by following a tutorial which required me to install a Babylon toolbar from an ad. It didn't work, so I uninstalled all the babylon stuff and scanned my computer with Avira and Ad-aware, they came up with some detections and a hidden object and removed them. After that, I bought the game instead of downloading. However, my computer now randomly freezes when playing and seems slightly slower than before. As long as I'm not gaming, my computer functions normally, but starting the game makes my computer freeze and BSOD every 2 out of 3 times. Also my computer doesn't seem to make any minidumps, even after enabling it via those settings and trying tons of other ways.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy computer randomly shuts off while running games. First noticed while experimenting with Aion, a few days later it also occurs with Star Wars: The Old Republic, something it hadn't done before. The program files don't include any duplicate files (which I thought may be a problem. Aion did have a duplicate initially, and the deletion of this file appeared to fix the problem, though it returned the next day. Further research has indicated that the CPU maybe overheating, or the the PSU is failing. I'm not "techy" enough to know if it is the PSU, when the computer shuts down, there is no warning, just a black screen and then the keyboard lights and fans stop running roughly 5s afterwards.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently installed windows 7 beta on my laptop, everything was great until I loaded a game (heroes of might and magic 5). At first, it was running smooth, after about 5-10 minutes the computer shut down. Since my laptop overheats quite easily, I checked the temperature of the CPU, but it wasn't hot at all. Then I tried a newer version (build 7032), same thing happens for every game.
Does anyone know the reason for this? Is there a possible fix?

View 1 Replies View Relatedso recently (in november) i upgraded my cpu, mobo, and ram, and have been getting many bsods. my new cpu is the amd bulldozer 8 core, and since its been known to have some problems, i updated my bios to the latest available (a beta bios). that fixed my steam games giving bsods. now i randomly get bsods every once in a while (every week or two) but the last few days i have gotten a bsod every day. i have disabled c1e state on my bios, and that made it so i don't bsod while watching embedded Internet videos. i also installed the windows bulldozer hotfix, which made my pc faster. then i noticed something special about my bsods - they only seem to happen while i am doing something not very resource intensive, like web browsing. it never happens while i am playing a game. so i thought it might be a driver having issues with state changes of my cpu. i disabled c6 state in my bios just in case, but that didn't seem to help much.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy computer has started to act weird recently I don't know the cause and therefore ran the driver verifier to stress my drivers. Because its not hardware related have ran several tests of cpu, gpu and ram without any errors. But when I ran the driver verifier I actually got a bsod.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have gone through the process of trying to figure out my BSOD problems. I ended up reinstalling Windows 7. After installing the latest drivers for everything I thought I had the problem solved.. not so much. The problems are still plaguing me, so I find myself here.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThough anyways im asking this, I noticed that you can set up a gaming server (Dedicated of course) And leave it running, Though of course my new computer could do pretty well with it, i though the task would be best kept with it running on it's own on my older Core 2 Duo E7300
The program im likely going to be using for running the gaming server is SRCDS (source/valve games of course) And if the core 2 duo is good enough im hopefully going to be wanting to runnn, say 2-3 servers at once if it can cope?
(RAM is 4GB btw) I also got the thing as i noticed a post around someone saying they ran a server fine with a ancient athlon or something like that.
For some reason , my computer restarts without notice , just seems to lose power all of a sudden, then it will start up again..This generally happens when CPU usage is at 90+% some games that have been doing this areCrysis 2 << (even on low)ApB Reloaded <<(lowest settings as well)Nba 2k11

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently changed the cabinet of my computer and since then I've been getting freezes and BSODS, when it freezes it just gets stuck at whatever I'm doing and makes a buzzing noise through the speakers. I haven't had time to read the error codes when I get the BSODS, it reboots to fast. The freezes/BSODS appear to happen more frequently when gaming, but it also occurs when I'm just browsing. have Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and have tried reinstalling it but it didn't help.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an old Toshiba Satellite L355-S7905 that was handed down to me back in 2009It gave me some problems beforehand (needed a new OS twice since I got it) but over the past year it's been fine. Suddenly, out of the blue, the OS crashed on me a few days ago.The crash was pretty bad and the OS wouldn't boot anymore. So, I did what any logical person would do; I reformatted my HDD (to ensure no viruses or spyware remained) and attempted to reinstall Win7 Ultimate. After the install, I manually updated all my drivers, and went underway resituating my programs. All was well with the universe, and then it happened. My system froze. One reboot later and it started freezing any time I tried to launch Firefox. Shortly after that, it started freezing whenever I tried launching any program at all. It even froze when I launched the Command Prompt. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing seems to solve the problem of the CPU spiking then the system locking up. I've tried virus scans, registry cleaner, disk defragenation, and disk clean up

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung laptop, and run with Windows Seven. About a month ago my problem started. My computer will freeze and require me to manually shut it off and restart. At first it happened infrequently, but as of yesterday it freezes right after it starts up. I run spy-bot search and destroy, which I did using the guest profile. It found and fixed about 62 problems. I hoped that would have fixed the problem, but unfortunately it hasn't. Right now I am operating in safe mode.
