Computer Shuts Down When Rendering A Video?

Oct 29, 2011

i use corel videostudio pro x3 video editing program on this windows 7 samsung laptop. i've enjoyed the program to edit video clips and haven't had any problems - until now. once i edit a clip, i convert it from a vsd (i believe) file to something Internet can read, like mpeg-4 (hd). it begins rendering, and once it gets to about 5% my computer inexplicably shuts down. it's done it three times in a row now. i can't even use this expensive program if i can't convert the file.

Computer Crashes While Gaming

Jan 24, 2013

My computer system crashes when I play most video games (only company of heroes and civilization 5 wont crash). I have already ran all the stress tests including memtest 86+, prime95 and furmark without any errors/crashes. I suspected that it was a driver issue so I decided to do a clean reinstall of windows 7 and then install all the drivers. It had absolutely no effect I updated my motherboard and video card BIOS but that didnt help either. I tried disabling ULPS and 2D clocks for my video card but nothing happened. The only critical event that is logged in event viewer is "kernel ID 41" (Its just a notification that my computer was shut off unexpectedly). When the computer crashes, a black screen will appear and the last bit of audio that was playing will get distorted and it will keep on playing(It will make a loud BRRRRR noise).I have to then manually restart the computer and boot back into windows.

system specs:

phenom ii x6 1050t @3.9ghz 1.46v (max temp 52C)
8 GB kingston hyper x 1600mhz memory
radeon 7850 2 GB (max temp 58C)

Computer Hangs While Gaming

Jul 8, 2011

Having an issue with my laptop and gaming, the games should by no means cause it to hang like this. Even older games like Half life will hang, I will be playing along and the game will hang, or freeze for a few seconds then go back to normal. This is kinda frustrating especially while playing online.

Win 7 Shuts Down Computer When Gaming

Sep 10, 2009

My new computer shuts down completely when playing DirectX games like COD and Crysis. First I thought it was a heating problem but I ruled that out when I kept the case open and monitored the temperatures. It can also happen within the first minute of a game, but it could happen at a later stage as well. There's no real pattern.

My system specs are:

Windows 7 RTM x64

AMD Phenom 9550 Quadcore Black Edition

4GB DDR2 memory

Gigabyte M61PME-S2P with the F4 Bios (latest)

Gigabyte GV-N250 (Geforce 250GTS with 1GB of memory

Latest drivers from Nvidia installed.

Gaming Computer Won't Load OS?

Jul 19, 2011

So I think I downloaded a virus. I was watching a show and it told me to watch i have to download a flashplayer(BTW it wasn't porn). So I did (I am so dumb T_T) and it turned off my whole entire PC. I was so scared!. So I turned it back up it said that the startup won't load and it was trying to repair it. After it was done it said you have to restart your pc. But it gave me that same startup couldn't load and has to repair. So I put in my Windows 7 os disk. And when It was done with step 2 it told me to restart to finish the process. I did and it put me back to step 1 and start over.

[BSOD] Computer Crashes When Gaming?

Aug 5, 2012

A couple of days ago I did something really stupid: I tried to download a game for free by following a tutorial which required me to install a Babylon toolbar from an ad. It didn't work, so I uninstalled all the babylon stuff and scanned my computer with Avira and Ad-aware, they came up with some detections and a hidden object and removed them. After that, I bought the game instead of downloading. However, my computer now randomly freezes when playing and seems slightly slower than before. As long as I'm not gaming, my computer functions normally, but starting the game makes my computer freeze and BSOD every 2 out of 3 times. Also my computer doesn't seem to make any minidumps, even after enabling it via those settings and trying tons of other ways.

Random Shut Down Of Computer While Gaming

May 16, 2012

my computer randomly shuts off while running games. First noticed while experimenting with Aion, a few days later it also occurs with Star Wars: The Old Republic, something it hadn't done before. The program files don't include any duplicate files (which I thought may be a problem. Aion did have a duplicate initially, and the deletion of this file appeared to fix the problem, though it returned the next day. Further research has indicated that the CPU maybe overheating, or the the PSU is failing. I'm not "techy" enough to know if it is the PSU, when the computer shuts down, there is no warning, just a black screen and then the keyboard lights and fans stop running roughly 5s afterwards.

Computer Shuts Down After A Few Minutes Of Gaming

Mar 26, 2009

I recently installed windows 7 beta on my laptop, everything was great until I loaded a game (heroes of might and magic 5). At first, it was running smooth, after about 5-10 minutes the computer shut down. Since my laptop overheats quite easily, I checked the temperature of the CPU, but it wasn't hot at all. Then I tried a newer version (build 7032), same thing happens for every game.

Does anyone know the reason for this? Is there a possible fix?

Recently Upgraded Computer, Getting BSODs Often, Never During Gaming?

Jan 22, 2012

so recently (in november) i upgraded my cpu, mobo, and ram, and have been getting many bsods. my new cpu is the amd bulldozer 8 core, and since its been known to have some problems, i updated my bios to the latest available (a beta bios). that fixed my steam games giving bsods. now i randomly get bsods every once in a while (every week or two) but the last few days i have gotten a bsod every day. i have disabled c1e state on my bios, and that made it so i don't bsod while watching embedded Internet videos. i also installed the windows bulldozer hotfix, which made my pc faster. then i noticed something special about my bsods - they only seem to happen while i am doing something not very resource intensive, like web browsing. it never happens while i am playing a game. so i thought it might be a driver having issues with state changes of my cpu. i disabled c6 state in my bios just in case, but that didn't seem to help much.

Running A Gaming Server Using A Core 2 Duo Computer?

Jan 16, 2013

Though anyways im asking this, I noticed that you can set up a gaming server (Dedicated of course) And leave it running, Though of course my new computer could do pretty well with it, i though the task would be best kept with it running on it's own on my older Core 2 Duo E7300

The program im likely going to be using for running the gaming server is SRCDS (source/valve games of course) And if the core 2 duo is good enough im hopefully going to be wanting to runnn, say 2-3 servers at once if it can cope?

(RAM is 4GB btw) I also got the thing as i noticed a post around someone saying they ran a server fine with a ancient athlon or something like that.

BSOD When Rendering Video

Nov 10, 2011

I'm looking for input and suggestions on why I'm getting Windows crashes when rendering MP4 files from Avid Studio ver 1.1. I've been using the program since it hit the shelves and haven't had any problems up till about three weeks ago. I get the same results with other file types in the rendering process. Most of the videos are a little over an hour in length and are being rendered in full HD (720 HD produces the same results. Also tried saving as Windows Media File and Apples MOV format with the same results. With this being said, here's what I've done thus far and what the machine is running. The machine does fine with any other processes I throw at it, only crashes when rendering videos. Computer is running Windows 7 - 64 bit with all current updates installed, I've also tried restoring the computer back to dates before the problem started, with no change. The boot drive is a 2TB SATA II drive with 1.6 TB free space.

Mouse And Rendering Lag When CPU Is Idle / Nvidia?

May 23, 2011

I have a laptop Dell XPS M1530 with Windows 7 on it (32 bit). It has 2 GB of ram, dual core, nvidia 8600m gt video card, 15'6 monitor. The problem is if my CPU is (are) idle I start noticing some sort of lag in mouse movement and window moving/resizing is really jerky. It feels like fps drops way below than it is with a busy CPU. It happens either with Aero or without it. I've tried several different nvidia drivers (270, 260, 195, etc) and neither fixed the problem. Also installed the newest chipset drivers. It just starts lagging when my laptop is idle (I use 270 version drivers (proprietary) no matter what I do; on Linux such problem does not occur?

Unicode Text Rendering Missing From Certain Areas?

May 22, 2011

I recently reformatted my PC and have noticed that areas which properly supported Unicode beforehand no longer do. For example, although Unicode text shows correctly in the majority of Windows Explorer, when I right click on files to view the properties the text field that shows the file name isn't rendering it correctly. This also propagates into some parts of other applications which previously had Unicode support, such as Winamp. I have a vast collection of East Asian music so this is more than a minor inconvenience for me.

Please find the below screen shots to demonstrate what I am seeing: For comparison, here is the same file being displayed properly on my Laptop:

BSOD While Rendering And Randomly, Multiple Errors

Aug 12, 2012

So a few months ago I started getting BSOD while rendering with Adobe Premiere. The odd part was that I would only get them when actually using export from with Premiere. If I queued them in Adobe Media Encoder it would generally be fine. Eventually things persisted to BSOD randomly occurring, sometimes 5 a day sometimes weeks a part. Eventually I bought a new SSD and reinstalled Windows. Things returned to normal, with BSOD only occurring while using export, but today things seemed to have returned to there old ways.

I may also add that since I've built this computer things have acted weird. Chrome plugins randomly crash. Shockwave player crashes constantly. I can't install DirectX.

Time Out Limit Error While Realtime Rendering

Aug 19, 2012

I am receiving an TO limit error while realtime rendering or creating a final render in blender 2.63 - I've done everything including updating or changing drivers (ive connected Nvidia so ive tried out all the drivers they've supported me with), reinstaling Blender and even reinstalling system, but the error still remains. I am Rendering using GPU rendering Mode which was activated in blender file menu user preferences/system/compute device/CUDA. I don't understand why im getting the error since the Graph card performance is normal I've tested it with Stability Test and and it ran over 110 mins without malfunctioning till i stopped it.

Now Nvidia had suggested me changing the TDR. I've created environment and models based on this image - so there's bunch of stuff in it. I am Running Win32, 7 ult. 2 gb of RAM, AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual Core Processor 4800 + 2.51 ghz. Now GPU, Gainward 630 GT 2gb (Direct X 11, PhysX, CUDA Support), Ive bought this GPU Couple of weeks ago specially for GPU Rendering since my x card had lower shader. I am getting Error only with Blender (I've tried rendering on 2.61, but getting same error), it works fine with games (I have 3 games installed all on max Graphics, and they work fine).
