Windows 7 x64 Professional
Originally installed OS
Full Retail

Bought from roommate and replaced his hard drive with a brand new hard drive (2 weeks).

He never had any issues with freezing or BSOD. We've reseated all hardware, completely removed dust, temperatures are consistently between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius, CHKDSK showed 0 bad sectors, Memtest had 0 errors, several antivirus/malware programs have come up 100% clean.

Had no issues the first week with this computer. Components are all of various ages (under 1.5 years), power source is 1250W CoolerMaster, video card is ~7 months old, memory is also ~7 months old, motherboard and processor are ~1.5 years old.

BSOD While Browsing, Watching Videos Or Gaming

Oct 13, 2012

Ran the W7F diagnostic tool as admin and it wouldn't create anything on my desktop so have attached dump files/cpu-z/RAMMON

Has always BSOD occasionally but has become much more frequent, every 15mins when playing X-COM. Appears to be mostly 101 clock error. The processor was pre-overclocked by the supplier, the overclocking profile only kicks in when cpu is under load. I never changed voltages or anything else in bios.

Ran prime 95 for 3 hrs last night before it crashed but the error was different to what it normally is - that's the oldest dump file in attached.

Random BSOD When Gaming, Exiting Games, Or Browsing The Internet?

May 8, 2012

My computer has been experiencing crashes daily for a while now, and I strongly suspect my power supply is the problem, but I do not have very much experience with this problem. My computer will just crash without any warning whatsoever when I play TF2, Nexuiz, or any other game for that matter. I could be playing for anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours and get a crash at any point in between. Who Crashed and BlueScreenView point out ntoskrnl.exe more than any other driver, but occasionally it will point out my graphics driver, lan driver, or directx itself.

BSOD - Whilst Gaming / Browsing - Error Codes Vary - Ntoskrnl.exe?

Nov 10, 2011

i am in dire need of some help with my pc. I am experiencing numerous BSOD issues. It started out whilst gaming with Battlefield 3 but is now happening all the time weather it be browsing the internet or just doing nothing. (If it helps firefox is crashing all the time). the computer is 10 months old and ran fine up until recently.I have had page fault, memory management, NTFS fault, bad pool, system exception.I have reviewed the forums and tried all the usual fixes, which goes along these lines:I used memtestx86 on my ram and found i had a dead stick so i purchased new 2 x 2G OZ 1333mhz, tested them for 20hrs and when they tested fine replaced the old sticks. Great i thought sorted, alas no.I removed AVG as one of the dmp files indicated it was that.nope carried out a chkdsk / r which showed no errors I removed all my nvidea drivers as they were being indicated but no its now worse than ever.I have attached the minidump files i have had over the past two days.

Random Freezing During Browsing Or Work?

Jun 14, 2012

In short the notebook freezes randomly, while I am working with After effects, browsing the net with chrome, using excel. Just average desktop work. Sometimes the freezing happens a lot and sometimes it just doesnt happen at all. It doesn't happen when I am watching a movie or playing a game. The freeze is weird. The computer looks like it is frozen, but the mouse cursor still works and everything still works. because when it unfreezes after a minute or so, I am on the window where I have clicked on the task bar, or alt-tabbed to. I can stop the music, whatever, everything still works. A while back, I was working in After effects and I had Mocha open at the same time, the notebook was freezing like mad, I was getting mad and taking out my frustration out by clicking like mad all over the screen, then i discovered if i clicked on the mocha icon in the task bar, hey pesto, screen unfreezes. This doesn't work with any other app open.

What the hell is going on, it's driving me nuts, I don't want to have mocha open all the time, just so i can unfreeze the screen. I have already tried so much to troubleshoot this, I have run out of ideas. reinstalled, tested ram with mem test, tested gfx card, latest drivers, scoured event viewer for errors, swapped hard drives. checked latency, all ok. Dodgy rouge software maybe I don't know.

Laptop Freezing While Browsing With 3 Or 4 Tabs Open

Sep 8, 2012

I posted a while ago saying my laptop would freeze etc, and I suspected it was because my fan needed to be cleaned. I got it checked out and cleaned, and my fan is working perfectly okay now. However, the freezing just happened again. I wasn't doing anything specifically hardcore, I just had my browser open and was listening to the radio, and scrolling through Facebook etc. I had only 3 or 4 tabs open. When I opened a new page to someone's blog, my laptop froze again. The mouse froze, I couldn't do anything, even my Caps Lock wasn't functioning. The music started going insanely slow. I waited for a bit and it stayed like that, so I just switched it off and restarted it. I got my hard drive checked out at the store and they said it's okay and there are no issues with it. It might be my registry because I use CCleaner from time to time.

Freezing And Buzzing From Monitor During Gaming?

Jan 12, 2013

Graphics card(SAPPHIRE 7950 3GB with Boost) does not indicate any error, it never gets above 50C, there are no artifacts, and it runs smooth as butter when it works(Hitman Absolution and Shogun total war 2).CPU doesn't overheat either, my NH-D14 keeps it(3930k) cool at below 50C at all times.

Fixes already tried:

Changing SATA cable on SSD
Reseating GPU/Power connections
reinstalling drivers/installing new drivers
updating BIOS
underclocking GPU.

There are no bluescreens, error codes, or anything of that sort, it freezes the frame and a loud buzzing comes from the monitor.Games are all installed on the SSD(Intel 520 Cherryville 180GB)Games ran through Steam new build, used less than 5 hours, max. After turning off the computer for a period of time, it'll let me play for 20-ish minutes, but then trying to reboot and play again results in near instant crash(2-5 minutes of play).

Gaming PC Keeps Freezing Randomly On Common Use

Sep 29, 2012

I have a custom gaming pc I made myself, it has worked fine for about 2 years, recently I updated my mobo, psu, and cpu and I also got some ram, and about 2 months later my pc started freezing randomly during playing games or other common use. I found out the new ram I had got was dead, so I took it out and it worked fine no freezes for about a month, now it started freezing again, I got brand new ram today and installed it and it still freezes. Its pretty random, I can go a hour some times and others 5 min of playing a game of whatever. I think it might be a hdd issue, I have a ssd as my boot drive and a 1 tb drive for just steam and games, and a third hdd for programs. I defrag the 2 hdds every so often.

New Custom Built Gaming PC Freezing Randomly - Cannot Open Task Manager

Nov 29, 2012

I recently bought a new custom built gaming PC and it works fine in terms of performance. I've had the PC for just over a week and on two occasions I have had the problem where the PC would just completely freeze to the extent that I can't open task manager, move the mouse and the keyboard would stop working. Also the Skype call I was in would just stop. This would force me to have to reboot my PC using the button on the tower to shut it down. So far the two occasions have happened when I'm not actually on a game and when the problems did happen I was using two different programs. The first occasion I was on OpenOffice and the second occasion. I was just browsing using Firefox so I don't think it is program specific.

Here are my specs:
Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.4ghz
8gb 1333mhz ram
Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium
Gainward GTX 660ti
Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard
600w Xigmatek PSU

The first crash happened two days after owning the new pc, the second crash happened today. Is there anyway I could access a crash log?

BSOD Due To Browsing

Jul 20, 2009

After running first XP and than Vista on my rig I ghosted the Vista (x64) install yesterday and formatted for Win 7 (RC). All installed just fine and appears stable as long as I do nothing. I haven't installed any supplier drivers, but run from Win 7 integrated drivers only. I went on with updating through Win Update with everything there was and then went on to the typical utility stuff (i.e. Flash, Acrobat Reader etc.).

My issue is that on SOME web pages my computer now go straight to blue screen of death memory dumping. An example of such a page is Nvidia's (nvidia.com), which will send me straight to BSOD as soon as the name is resolved and I have a title. ^^

I tried restoring to a system restore point prior to all 3rd party installs (such as Flash), but I have no different behavior. I am about to try a clean install to see if it persists, but I am curious as to if anyone else has seen or heard of this tiny issue before and has any interesting theories on it?

And to clarify; no Asus drivers were installed and no the BIOS is not updated, but on the other hand - if it was BIOS incompatability I would kinda expect some generela stability issues, not connected to sepcific home pages.

Any ideas? Aliens in my RAM? Microsoft censoring the internet? Computer come alive and has a taste of its own?

BSOD When Browsing, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Jan 30, 2012

My computer's been perfectly stable for months now and suddenly it BSODs again. (the previous issues had been entirely accounted for and rectified) I have my hunches but I need someone to take a look at the BSOD logs to find out what exactly caused this one.I've been doing just fine until I started playing Battlefield 3. My NVIDIA 280.26 drivers weren't good enough, the game told me so and froze every 5 minutes of play, necessitating killing the process through the task manager. I did a clean reinstall complete with driver sweeper of the 285.62 driver version and that fixed my issue. The game requires you to have all sorts of crap running in the background when you play. Punkbuster is normal but now EA has their own version of Steam, 'Origin', which needs to be playing while you run it. It also runs the game through the web browser, which required their own addon through my Firefox browser (v9.0.1).

Things were going well till a couple of days ago. I had just finished up a game of BF3 and was browsing through the game's web site when my screen went black. Everything came back up and my PC told me my video drivers had crashed and recovered. Firefox had oddly crashed as well. Fast forward to today, I'd finished playing BF3, at least an hour had passed. I was browsing some unrelated web site when my computer popped the blue screen linked in attachments. No warning at all, just browsing the net. My computer has been 100% stable up until now so I'm thinking it's either the new drivers or the funny plugin the game shoved into my Firefox.Whenever I've gone to their web site the browser opens 3 'plugin container' processes which won't close until I shut down the browser entirely. I know Origin wasn't running this last time but I might not have shut down the browser and restarted.I use Windows 7 64 bit retail on a self-built computer.I just built the system at the end of last year. 285.62-desktop-Windows 7-winvista-64bit-english-whql (installed)

BSOD While Watching Video And Sometimes Browsing IE 8 Or FF

Nov 8, 2011

when i am watching web video - news site video (cnn, wsj, fox) or Internet, a few minutes into it, my system restarts. also, but less frequently, i get random restart on browsing with both ie8 and ff. see my profile for specs - basically windows 7 32 bit oem on a 5 year old p4 system. its fully patched. i thought it might be my avast and ad aware so i uninstalled these and installed ms security essentials. its fully patched too. i have updated my video drivers and installed an ms codec update. the restarts are still happening. the case gets decent air flow and i even slipped the side panel off, blew out some dust. the cpu temp seems fine so i don't think its a thermal warning. i tried the instructions to generate a minidump file, but no luck. the zip file has all my settings re: minidump as per the thread. see word doc in zip file.

I have attached all of the necessary BSOD items. Is Windows 7 . . . - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? X64 - the original installed OS on the system? Yes. Original - an OEM or full retail version? OEM - OEM = came pre-installed on system - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer - What is the age of system (hardware)? 1 month - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Random BSOD While Just Browsing Internet

May 6, 2012

I've had this issue before & it was bad RAM before so i replaced my RAM in late March and have not had issues since until a few minutes ago, I was watching a live stream on ustream.tv of the Nevada GOP Convention while also browsing facebook and Reddit and everything suddenly locked up on me and then a BSOD occurred forcing a reboot of my system, I have attached the .zip file to this post to hopefully finally get to the bottom of this issue..Is Windows 7

- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? - 64 bit
- the original installed OS on the system? - Windows 7 64 bit, & dual booting Windows 8 Beta on a different partition
- an OEM or full retail version? - OEM
- What is the age of system (hardware)? - custom built system but i'd say average is 3-4 years for the mobo/processor, Ram is brand new, one of my hard drives is also only a couple of months, the other is maybe 2-3 years at my best estimate
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) - I did a reformat just a few months ago.

BSOD While Browsing, Listening To Music, Or Using Steam

Dec 25, 2011

I just finished building my new pc and got it up and running today, but it has bluescreened six or seven times since I've been using it. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on it last night and the BSOD will pop up after 10 minutes of browsing or doing light work or even after playing a couple hours of Skyrim. Very random. I looked over some of the dump files to see a pattern but I think there are multiple things causing the BSOD. All of the hardware is new and this is my first time building a pc, though I am fairly certain that all of the hardware components are put together correctly, so I'm not sure if I need to upgrade a certain driver or what. My specs are listed under the profile and the dump files and health report are attached.
