View 9 RepliesMy computer has been experiencing crashes daily for a while now, and I strongly suspect my power supply is the problem, but I do not have very much experience with this problem. My computer will just crash without any warning whatsoever when I play TF2, Nexuiz, or any other game for that matter. I could be playing for anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours and get a crash at any point in between. Who Crashed and BlueScreenView point out ntoskrnl.exe more than any other driver, but occasionally it will point out my graphics driver, lan driver, or directx itself.

Bought from roommate and replaced his hard drive with a brand new hard drive (2 weeks).
He never had any issues with freezing or BSOD. We've reseated all hardware, completely removed dust, temperatures are consistently between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius, CHKDSK showed 0 bad sectors, Memtest had 0 errors, several antivirus/malware programs have come up 100% clean.
Had no issues the first week with this computer. Components are all of various ages (under 1.5 years), power source is 1250W CoolerMaster, video card is ~7 months old, memory is also ~7 months old, motherboard and processor are ~1.5 years old.
Ran the W7F diagnostic tool as admin and it wouldn't create anything on my desktop so have attached dump files/cpu-z/RAMMON
Has always BSOD occasionally but has become much more frequent, every 15mins when playing X-COM. Appears to be mostly 101 clock error. The processor was pre-overclocked by the supplier, the overclocking profile only kicks in when cpu is under load. I never changed voltages or anything else in bios.
Ran prime 95 for 3 hrs last night before it crashed but the error was different to what it normally is - that's the oldest dump file in attached.
This is on a recent clean install. I've run memtest86 10 passes with no errors, ran a system scan, and checked both hard drives with the integrated windows software. DriverAgent says I have only one outdated driver.
SF Diag Tool zip should be attached.
i am in dire need of some help with my pc. I am experiencing numerous BSOD issues. It started out whilst gaming with Battlefield 3 but is now happening all the time weather it be browsing the internet or just doing nothing. (If it helps firefox is crashing all the time). the computer is 10 months old and ran fine up until recently.I have had page fault, memory management, NTFS fault, bad pool, system exception.I have reviewed the forums and tried all the usual fixes, which goes along these lines:I used memtestx86 on my ram and found i had a dead stick so i purchased new 2 x 2G OZ 1333mhz, tested them for 20hrs and when they tested fine replaced the old sticks. Great i thought sorted, alas no.I removed AVG as one of the dmp files indicated it was that.nope carried out a chkdsk / r which showed no errors I removed all my nvidea drivers as they were being indicated but no its now worse than ever.I have attached the minidump files i have had over the past two days.

I've had this issue before & it was bad RAM before so i replaced my RAM in late March and have not had issues since until a few minutes ago, I was watching a live stream on ustream.tv of the Nevada GOP Convention while also browsing facebook and Reddit and everything suddenly locked up on me and then a BSOD occurred forcing a reboot of my system, I have attached the .zip file to this post to hopefully finally get to the bottom of this issue..Is Windows 7

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy system has been getting random Blue Screens while I play games. It's completely random. I may go a full day without a crash, or it may happen 2 or 3 times in a few hours. It's happened on multiple games, but only while gaming. I read on a forum entry that Daemon tools, can cause this, and have uninstalled it. It seemed to fix it, but then it just happened again recently. It has primarily happened while playing Fallout 3 and the Path of Exile Beta, but those have really been the only 2 games I've been playing recently. System specs are:

I have been having random crashes / restarts on my computer for the entire duration that I have had my windows 7 installed, before this I used windows xp which was on the same hard drive. I thought I managed to fix the issue but it happened again today and once yesterday as well.
What happens:
-Playing random game or browsing internet
-crash for no reason (Doesn't always BSOD)
-computer restarts says windows did not shut down cleanly etc..
-start up what I was doing again
-no crash
Search and Destroy along with Malwarebytes says that I am clean along with my AVG My dump settings are properly configured to produce dump files, although when this happens I do not see one being produced
My Windows 7 computer:
- x64 bit
- not the original OS
- retail version
- What is the age of system (hardware)? - 3/4 years at most
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) 1/2 years

I've been having issues with my computer for a while now, it crashes at unpredictable times. I believe the crashes started about the same time I installed my current video card.

View 18 Replies View RelatedI recently changed the cabinet of my computer and since then I've been getting freezes and BSODS, when it freezes it just gets stuck at whatever I'm doing and makes a buzzing noise through the speakers. I haven't had time to read the error codes when I get the BSODS, it reboots to fast. The freezes/BSODS appear to happen more frequently when gaming, but it also occurs when I'm just browsing. have Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and have tried reinstalling it but it didn't help.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi have a system which i got 1 month ago and it was stable and good till recently i started getting BSOD at random times , i tried to update my bios as most were saying but i couldnt because whenever i click on bios update utilite i get black screen! with no respond (i tried the updating from bios not windows Asus dont offer bios update from inside windows ) however . i noticed i get this bluescreen often when playing shogun 2 but in general i still get BSOD when doing other stuff at random times (ex: other games/work on office package) also sometimes when i play other games i either get BSOD or a sudden system lag where everything stops with a noisy sound coming from my speaker.
btw : in my BSOD i get the famous physical memory dump 100% line at the bottom
and i also updated my graphics drivers and rolled back to the old stable one but with no use
Recently, my computer has started freezing while I'm browsing the web. No BSOD or resetting, it just freezes and I have to hold the power button to get it back.I don't think it's over heating, or memory or any of that because I can happily play games hour hours with no issues.I can watch films,or streaming media for hours and it's fine. It only crashes while surfing or talking on Steam.

In short the notebook freezes randomly, while I am working with After effects, browsing the net with chrome, using excel. Just average desktop work. Sometimes the freezing happens a lot and sometimes it just doesnt happen at all. It doesn't happen when I am watching a movie or playing a game. The freeze is weird. The computer looks like it is frozen, but the mouse cursor still works and everything still works. because when it unfreezes after a minute or so, I am on the window where I have clicked on the task bar, or alt-tabbed to. I can stop the music, whatever, everything still works. A while back, I was working in After effects and I had Mocha open at the same time, the notebook was freezing like mad, I was getting mad and taking out my frustration out by clicking like mad all over the screen, then i discovered if i clicked on the mocha icon in the task bar, hey pesto, screen unfreezes. This doesn't work with any other app open.
What the hell is going on, it's driving me nuts, I don't want to have mocha open all the time, just so i can unfreeze the screen. I have already tried so much to troubleshoot this, I have run out of ideas. reinstalled, tested ram with mem test, tested gfx card, latest drivers, scoured event viewer for errors, swapped hard drives. checked latency, all ok. Dodgy rouge software maybe I don't know.
Random BSODs while playing WoW/TF2, browsing internet and my PC will start normally after like it never happened. This has happened more than four times now. Has even happened once on the desktop. It dumps files and I haven't been able to snag error codes. Either that or I need to write down codes frantically next time it happens. I run Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials frequently (though I haven't changed any settings and am not sure how to do more thorough scans.)

My computer has always randomly shut down either when in use or not in use or even if I was using it to send videos to my ps3 to watch on tv. So I called the tech guys at dell to see if there was some kind of issue to be concerned with about my pc restarting, after three separate techs doing tests and what not, my computer boots games up perfectly well, but as soon as I get into the game and start trying to play, the game lags soooooo much that they are no longer playable.

First noticed while experimenting with Aion, a few days later it also occurs with Star Wars: The Old Republic, something it hadn't done before. The program files don't include any duplicate files (which I thought may be a problem. Aion did have a duplicate initially, and the deletion of this file appeared to fix the problem, though it returned the next day. Further research has indicated that the CPU maybe overheating, or the the PSU is failing. I'm not "techy" enough to know if it is the PSU, when the computer shuts down, there is no warning, just a black screen and then the keyboard lights and fans stop running roughly 5s afterwards.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is a new pc build using various parts we have accumulated. When using Internet Explorer I get app crashes. I have been playing DC Universe Online and get random app crash, display drivers stop responding, apphangB1, I also lose monitor signal. Here is a list of fixes we have tried already:
-We have disabled internet explorer add ons and even tried disabling IE completely, to no avail
-We have swapped out the 5770 for an 8800 GTX that we know works, same problem
-We have the latest BIOS/drivers
-We have run SpeedFan, CPU temp 41C
-We have run Memtest for both sticks of RAM at the same time in slots 1 and 3 and there was an error, so we tried to isolate the bad RAM by testing invidivual sticks in slot 3 - no errors on either stick? therefore, we put the sticks in slots 3 and 4, assuming there may be a problem with slot 1 - worked ok for a couple of hours, then game crashes and black screen with sound requiring reboot. Monitor is fine, as it works on my BF's pc with no problems.
-We have tried a couple of installs of Windows 7
-We have run chkdsk - no errors.The BIOS is running on default, nothing overclocked - we have used the correct timings for the RAM and autotimed them, same problem
We are currently not using an antivirus because we did not want to add more problems, but we will get AVAST.My BF has given up now, as there is nothing else he can think of to try. I feel we are so close to resolving the issue, as it did run fine for a while, but then a bunch of errors all at once. If it helps, here is a copy of the error log.
I have been having random reboots and sometimes hard-hangs whenever I am starting to play any PC games after start-up. I have to keep resetting and run through any checks I could think of but the checks always find everything to be okay. Now today, the other crashes started, with the first happening out of nowhere, the second happening upon starting a video game. I've been without crashes for a while now, only having used my browser(Opera) and copying some files to an external hard drive. As well as the SF tool.I only have 2 dump files available. View 6 Replies View RelatedI reformatted my computer multiple times, yet my computer seems to BSOD randomly.What happenes is that everything becomes unresponsive; cant alt+tab, cant ctrl+alt+del etc etc. everything freezes randomly... then boom, BSOD. its happened twice, with no apparent pattern.And then, when it restarts, it tries booting but then it goes into the boot selection screen and my SSD is nowhere to be found. I have to power off then power on again for it to boot up and log in.

After running first XP and than Vista on my rig I ghosted the Vista (x64) install yesterday and formatted for Win 7 (RC). All installed just fine and appears stable as long as I do nothing. I haven't installed any supplier drivers, but run from Win 7 integrated drivers only. I went on with updating through Win Update with everything there was and then went on to the typical utility stuff (i.e. Flash, Acrobat Reader etc.).
My issue is that on SOME web pages my computer now go straight to blue screen of death memory dumping. An example of such a page is Nvidia's (nvidia.com), which will send me straight to BSOD as soon as the name is resolved and I have a title. ^^
I tried restoring to a system restore point prior to all 3rd party installs (such as Flash), but I have no different behavior. I am about to try a clean install to see if it persists, but I am curious as to if anyone else has seen or heard of this tiny issue before and has any interesting theories on it?
And to clarify; no Asus drivers were installed and no the BIOS is not updated, but on the other hand - if it was BIOS incompatability I would kinda expect some generela stability issues, not connected to sepcific home pages.
Any ideas? Aliens in my RAM? Microsoft censoring the internet? Computer come alive and has a taste of its own?
I've been getting the BSOD since 2010...usually occurs when accessing video or photos at mainstream sites like SI.com or FOX etc...intermittently...I've attached the CPU-Z, RAM-MON and the SF Diagnostics dump files.
