View 2 RepliesThe other day I got home and I heard this screech. I followed the noise to my computer. I've had this computer for about a year and a half and I've never had this problem before. I shut it down, opened the case and used canned air to clean the fans. Then i rebooted and the noise was gone. Tonight out of nowhere, the fan started screeching again. I checked the cpu temp on the thermometer on the case of the computer and cpu temp was normal at 32 degrees C. I turned the computer so it had more air and blew in it and the fan stopped making noise. I Dled CPUID Hardware Monitor and it looks like all the temps are fine. The fans are running at 1339 - 1383 respectively. I have liquid cooling and a couple of fans and if it's not the CPU that's running hot, what else might it be?

So don't know how things were just before the shutdown or anything.when i turn on the computer i get to the screen where "touch bios" is and where i can see the options like Bios settings, boot menu, xpress recovery.but i cant press anything, and after about two seconds on that screen the PC shuts down again. The keyword lights up so there is a responds on it, but just doesn't work to press anything before it shuts down.I've got BSOD upto several times a day for a few months time.believe that my computer is affected by some virus or something is delaying my computer. might be an combination of several things.I got no external things hugged up to the stationeer computer right now.it is a windows 7 x64 machine.
usually when i get issues i can access advanced boot up or bios, but can neither in this case..I wonder if it might be a hardware issue.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyways, every time I try to schedule a "Check Disk" it NEVER starts on a restart. I already did the "sfc /scannow" command on the cmd prompt. In fact it said it was UNABLE to fix some problems. I have attached a file of my "SFC scan log". Inside it says it was unable to fix "Chkdsk.exe" Go figure. Alright, just some extra information. I also think my computer is confused of itself . I mean, it seems to not know if its a 64 bit or a 86 bit! I was told to install a hotfix for "Chkdsk.exe" here [URL]. But it did NOT work. I attempted to install both 64 bit AND 86 bit hotfixes, and yes they were both windows 7 (Chkdsk.exe) hotfixes.
My system specs:
- Toshiba Qosmio X505 Laptop-
Windows 7 64bit (Yes it says 64 bit but I've tried to install other kinds of hotfixes for both 64 and 86 bits and none of them worked!)
Intel Core i5
4gb Ram
Nvidia Geforce GTS 360M
audio services wont start automatically on start up, so I have to restart manually every time at startup.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI changed explorer.dll in Windows 7. Then explorer wouldn't start when I tried to do so from task manager. So I tried to reboot. After also being unable to make headway in safe mode (using msconfig), as that also requires explorer, I launched startup repair using my windows 7 CD. Then after it said that it would reboot and fix any additional problems, it has kept rebooting and failing. I can't get to safe mode using f8 either, it just comes up with boot options 'Boot from CD' and 'Boot from HDD'.f I can get out of startup repair, that would be tremendous. At least then I can activate word from task manager and save my coursework!'m going to try using Ubuntu's explorer to change the files back. I'll post back any progress! I'll be checking this wall at least 5 times a day until a solution is found.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have no idea ho i did this but all of my startup programs on start menu as well as desktop shotcuts they end in .ink? And all of it has the logo for VLc media player? so basically when i click it it loads on that program but it will not load it as it only does media files. And all the time I have to right click to say open file location then it finally loads the program. So my question is how do I put it all back to normal? I'll post a screenshot so you can better understand what I am talking about.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwith my custom built desktop. My custom built has been acting up like mad only a month after creation. It worked perfectly at first, but then I suddenly found that half of my services were disabled randomly. As well, my computer kept connecting with limited access to my household wireless connection, quite simply meaning I couldn't connect to the internet.Eventually, after throwing all the solutions I could find on the net at it (sfc/scannow, system restore, enabling the systems manually through and elevated control panel and even upgrade installs (with the original OEM system builders disc), I gave up and did a complete reinstall, wiping everything on my hard drive and starting again.Unlike the upgrade install I attempted, this actually worked and my computer worked perfectly...until I updated windows. After downloading the 53 updates windows update thought I needed, when I booted up my computer the next time, the internet stopped working again, with half of my services stopped (including Diagnostics Repair). Now every time I boot up my computer, I come to a Startup Repair screen that fails every time. Here is the message I get: Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automaticallyProblem signature:Problem Event Name:StartupRepairOfflineProblem Signature 01:6.1.7600.16385Problem Signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385Problem Signature 03: unknownProblem Signature 04: 21200686Problem Signature 05: AutoFailoverProblem Signature 06: 3
View 9 Replies View RelatedI left my computer - which is an Acer Aspire One, that I purchased, refurbished, a few months ago from a local dealer and came preloaded with Windows Starter 7 - closed, but without turning it off, for a few hours while I ran out to a cafe with a friend (which I've done hundreds of times before. But, when I came back, it was frozen on the firefox tab I had open when I left. So, I figured, I'll just turn it off with the power button and turn it back on. When I did this, Windows stalled out while opening and wasn't going anywhere, and then the screen went black and it went back to the Acer splash screen and told me that Windows had failed to start and suggested I run Startup Repair. So I did, and, after about 5 minutes, it went to a blue screen with a white hummingbird and some curly bits behind it, and a slightly distorted cursor that moves on the screen when I use my keypad and hasn't moved since. That was about 20 minutes ago. I'm really stressing out, because I don't know what to do, and there are files on there that I need for work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWindows won't start. I get a a black screen saying some hardware or software has changed and the only options are to press enter to continue, or escape to exit. I tried booting my Win 7 64 bit recovery disc (aka system repair disc) but in the second screen where it tells you to select an operating system, it is blank! I attempted to add hard disk drivers but i couldn't figure out how. So i pressed next and got to the screen with various options. I selected "Startup Repair" but that won't work. It says that "startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically".
View 5 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I turn on my computer, the screen will turn on as usual, and there is like a cursor that blinks in the top left corner of the screen, again, as usual. However, it will sometimes stop, and stay on this screen for upwards of a minute or more. The laptop sounds like it's still working, as the fan is going pretty fast and everything sounds like it's spinning, however it doesn't show anything on the screen. After around the minute duration, the screen will go black and the normal boot up process is proceeded with. From what I've read of other people, they can't even get past this screen, which is why I think my problem is slightly different, or the same, just not as severe. Does my problem also sound like it's the MBR, as indicated by other people's questions on the Internet?
If so, is there any easy way to repair it without having to use a windows 7 disc, as I have a laptop and didn't get a disc with it...
Is there a way to make a start up process start with a delay of say 30 seconds via the registry? I tried software but none of them work with win 7 beta.
EDIT: If not, Is there a way to have the start up programs start in a certain order?
I stumbled upon this forum in hopes that you guys will be able to assist me in figuring out why it is that Lost Saga keeps crashing for me. I just put this computer together this January. I was able to play up until about March, but then when April rolled around, the crashing started to occur. I talked with the Name behind the game(OGPlanet) and none of their solutions worked.
