Computer Freezes After Upgrading Of Memory

May 5, 2012

Motherboard that I using currently is ASUS P7H55-M LX.It basically has only 2 slot. Intially I bought a 2GB ram and wanted to increase it recently. Did not thought of wasting too much on ram since I have bought it only a year ago.Hence I bought a 4GB ram and placed it in.

Here comes the issue:

After placing it, my computer keep freezing. So my question is that is it alright to mix ram size in the same motherboard?

Upgrading RAM Memory From 4 GB To 8 GB?

Sep 26, 2011

I am considering upgrading my laptop's RAM from 4 GB DDR3 to 8 GB DDR3. Currently my laptop contains 2 strips of the following memory:

Quote: 2GB 2Rx8 PC3-8500S-07-10 [x2] Thought I'd ask you guys for help, as I do not know where to look for Samsung RAM, or any other 100% compatible RAM for my laptop. Well, actually I know where to look but how do I figure out which suits my laptop the best? I prefer to have the same brand of RAM this laptop came with, which is Samsung (my laptop is an Acer Aspire 8735G).

Also is it better to have 2 strips of 4 GB or would it be a better idea for me to buy 1 strip of 8 GB? what type of motherboard this laptop's got, I can't seem to find it anywhere... I've used CPU-Z, checked my laptop's manual and service guide but nothing to find there.

CPU And GPU Overheating After Upgrading To 1333 MHz Memory

Oct 24, 2011

I had 8 GiB of memory in my HP Pavilion dv7-4110em XE287EA#BED working at 1,066 MHz because one of the 2 4-GiB memory modules had a maximum frequency of 1,066 MHz. Today, I replaced that module with a 4-GiB module which can work at 1,333 MHz. So, now my 8 GiB of memory works at 1,333 MHz. Windows work noticeably faster.

However, the CPU and GPU temperatures now go over 90C and the laptop goes into hibernation. Is there a way to avoid this - somehow slow down the CPU when the temperature is too high, or similar? How can I make the laptop go into standby instead of hibernation when this happens?

Upgrading System Memory Windows 7 64bit?

Jan 28, 2012

I tried looking online about this I need to know if there's a big difference between 12GB of system memory and 16GB of system memory. I don't play many games but I do convert HD videos a lot and these programs are a pig on ram. I have 8GB now and have ordered 2 4GB sticks and was wondering if I should stay with 2 4GB sticks and 2 2GB sticks(total12GB) or should I upgrade to 16GB.

Is Upgrading To Windows 7 Crashing My Computer

Aug 6, 2012

The computer I am currently using is a 4 year old HP Pavillion a6430f (specs below), built to run the 32-bit version of Vista Home Premium. In May 2011, I first installed a 64-bit edition of Windows 7 Professional - some months thereafter, I began to run into repeated BSODs (unfortunately, I never wrote down the error codes). In October, I took the computer in for servicing, and was told that the hard drive failed. After it was replaced, I reconnected my computer (now running Vista again) and immeadiately (stupidly, perhaps) reinstalled my copy of Windows 7. Within several weeks, the problem resumed.I have only recently had time to get the computer serviced again, and it has been factory-reset to 32-bit Vista with another new hard drive. I don't expect my exact issue can be troubleshooted from this information, but I'd like to eliminate one of the variables. According to the system itself (information found in Control PanelSystem and MaintenancePerformance Information and ToolsView and print details), my computer is "64-bit capable". However, as I know little about hardware and the like, I ask: Could installing 64-bit Windows 7 on an originally 32-bit Windows Vista machine be causing hard drive failure/ BSOD problems?

[code] Other information: The latest hard drive that the repair shop has placed in this machine is a ~900 GB, 3.5" 7200 RPM Seagate ST1000DM 003-9YN162. The GeForce 9400 GT was also not present in the original computer (I made sure to install the correct drivers); nor was the power supply currently in it, which is around 400 watts (100 more than NewEgg's calculator said would be necessary to power the parts currently inside). I don't know if this info is too relevant, however; I am only asking whether the change of operating system is causing a negative effect.

Upgrading To Windows 7 Makes Computer Run Way Hotter

so i recently upgraded to windows 7 64 bit from windows Vista on my laptop. This laptop is mainly used for gaming so i was a bit surprised when i was playing a game and my computer overheated and turned off for the first time in a year of having the laptop. I checked and even games like "lord of the rings online" that pushed my GPU to about 70 degrees on vista, now pushes the gpu to 100 or more. Is there any fix for this? or is my only option to return to windows vista?

Upgrading Computer To NVidia GTX 560, Constant Crashing?

Jul 3, 2012

I've been having some issues since upgrading my computer to this Galaxy GTX 560 video card. My old EVGA GTX 280 did fine except I wanted to be able to run Direct X 11 and newer games on the horizon.I specifically get crashes when playing certain games. Diablo 3, Star Trek Online, Star Wars The Old Republic (seldom but still happens). The crash would usually occur less than 20 minutes of playing.I have not experienced a crash on Team Fortress 2 yet. I have played for a few hours without crashing. This is a second card, I RMA'd the first card already with the same issues.I am on Windows 7 Professional, x64.This is a upgraded installation from a clean install of Windows xp. Re-Installed Dec '11 This should be a retail version.Motherboard 2007.CPU 2010 Intel Q9550.RAM 2011 Corsair something matched pair.Hard drive 2012 Patriot Memory Pyro.I have not overclocked anything in my computer. Everything runs fine on my 280 GTX. (just a bit slower and I hear the fan churning like mad, but doesn't hard crash).I have also tried running the OCCT, however it also causes it to crash out in about 130 seconds. The crash report is generated from this.

Computer Runs Very Slow / Computer Freezes Randomly

Mar 25, 2012

Computer runs very slow. Computer freezes randomly. Does not want to boot past windows startup except for in safe mode(SOMETIMES). IF IT BOOTS takes and an incredibly long time to get to the desktop (20-45min). Does not want to run programs. Runs EXTREMELY slowly (makes a windows 95 pc look like a speed demon.) Random restarts, restart loops, and shutdowns. Sometimes after turning on it will immediately shut off then turn back on. Keeps recommending windows repair on startup. Wants to run chkdsk, then freezes on it.Malware detection programs. Hardware diagnostic programs. registry tools. disk defrags. Driver updates. Windows updates. BIOS update. System restore. Windows repair tool. Repair installation (twice). WINDOWS 7 CLEAN INSTALLATION (twice).Exactly the same as the first day it started happening. So not only did I lose all programs and files, but my pc still runs like crap. Also, this is a higher end pc under a year old. [code]

Computer Uses 100% CPU And Only 23% Of Memory

Mar 14, 2012

I have a Acer Aspire 5253 laptop which came with a 1 GHz AMD C-50 dual core processor with 2 GB of RAM and a 64 bit OS. It was using 100% CPU and 90%- 100% memory, so I removed the 2 GB of RAM and installed (2) 4GB RAM. Thing is it will still using 100% of the CPU and now only 23% of the memory. Is there something wrong here? 1-2 apps running (this number includes the anti-virus program) and one loading can stall or freeze the computer. Why so little memory usage? why doesn't the CPU allocate more memory to help itself with the load?

Programs mostly used:
Google Chrome
Windows Office
iTunes
Kaspersky Pure (anti virus program, always running)
Pot Player (video player)

Computer Frozen After Memory Check

Aug 25, 2012

I recently upgraded my computer ( which is working fine ) and some of my old computer parts would now belong to my brother. When assembling my brothers computer I didn't remove the cpu or RAM once. The only things that were switched from my computer to his were graphics card, PSU, HDD and CD-DVD Driver. Now when starting my brothers computer, it will recognize the cpu and the amount of ram, but after that it stops. It still is answering because if I press DEL or f11, I will acess either bios or boot menu. After that it tells me that the HDD hasn't been recognized. Another weird thing is that it only shows the bios startup screen if the CD-DVD reader is connected, otherwise the computer will start but it will remain full black screen.

Low Memory Warning: The Computer Lies?

Jun 23, 2011

I have windows 7 64 home premium installed on the following computer:

Intel i5 2500K (3.30Ghz, 4core, 6MB cache)
Asus P4H67
8 GB Ram
2TB Hard drive

and when running a specific application (that task manager says is only using about 500 MB), Windows gives me a Low Memory warning, even though taskman says there is about 4000MB free memory. Does anyone know what would be causing windows to think it has low memory when, in fact, it has more than half of its physical memory empty.More info? I have a 25GB Swap file configured and over 300GB free on my main hard drive. The app that is working when Windows complains is Sony Vegas 9, and the warning message shows up both in Vegas as well as explorer.I have tested the ram and it is all working, and I can fill it right up by starting a beefy instance of bukkit, so I know the meter successfully registers up to the full 8GB ram, but when the error happens, it's somewhere between 3 and 3.8 GB used.

How To Reassign Which Drive The Computer Uses For Memory Cards

Apr 30, 2012

I stuck a compact flash memory card into my computer and it wouldn't see it. Somewhere I saw that the computer sees memory cards as drive K. It so happens that some time ago I set up a partition on the hard drive as K.

I went into Disk Management and changed the letter to R, restarted the computer. It now won't see any drive. Everything on the desktop seemed to work and I could access the internet, but whenever I tried to look at C or R it would say something like 'server failed', or 'cannot locate server'.

So I went back to Disk Management and changed the letter back to K and now everything works fine. I have a number of programs located in K. If I can I would rather re-assign which drive the computer uses for memory cards (Win7, 64bit)

Can't Boot My Computer Due To Physical Memory Dump

Nov 12, 2012

I have a problem in booting my computer. It is Windows 7 64 bit laptop, from Dell. I have installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my computer separately. When I try to boot my computer, it runs into a blue screen. The blue screen disappears very quickly and then the computer will restart again. I guess the last line of the blue screen is something like physical memory dump.

I tried to boot my computer in safe mode, but it stops at CLASSPNS.SYS. I have also tried to use the startup repair, but in vain. I can't do system recovery because it doesn't have a recovery point. I used the Dell diagnosis tool and ran some tests. It seems that the diagnosis tool can't detect my hard drive. But it is a little bit strange to me because I can access files in my Windows 7 using Ubuntu.
