Computer Doesn't Make It To Desktop?

When I try to start my toshiba satellite L455D-S5976, it gives me the option between "start normally" or "system repair." When I chose "start normally," it shows the windows boot screen for a while, then restarts to the toshiba start screen, and the same menu again. If I chose "system repair," it shows an older type of windows boot screen, says something to the effect of "loading files" the the screen goes black, and the cursor comes up, and can be moved. I have left it on this blank screen for hours, and nothing has happened.

I tried to use the tool windows provided to make it so you can put a ISO copy of windows on a USB...and it didn't make it bootable.

Want to know if their is anyway to make my laptop startup w/o showing error when it doesnt properly shutdown.My keyboard shorted out,wiggled the ribbon & the connector came off the motherboard.I have no usb keyboards.So if i don't shut down properly,it shows the error message with options.Usually startup repair is highlighted by default.And since I have no keyboard to change the option,it starts that automatically after countdown & I can't cancel it.
It's very irritating.I just been using the on screen keyboard,I actually don't mind that.I know just shutting it down properly will fix this.But their is times where I lose power to laptop sometimes.Im not a noob,I normally leave my laptop plugged up w/o battery when I use it.Sometimes the plug comes out(dogs knock it out etc.).I know most laptops are supposed to stop sending a charge to batt once it's 100%.But I think it's bs & don't trust it.My preference & opinion

i recently acquired a virus that i've now taken care of, but it seems to have left my computer damaged. i can't change my wallpaper, for one. and whenever i save or upload something (for example, when i want to upload a video on to Internet and you get that window pop-up where it gives you the option to upload something from a certain location), the location for desktop is completely missing when i use one of my browsers - i can't access it at all.
i've also noticed recently that i can't even make changes to my desk top icons. i arrange it by date -for instance- and when i restart the computer, it goes back to the way it was before the change?

I love the Sticky Notes application. But it get's really annoying when I over over the Show Desktop button, I only see my gadgets! Sticky Notes gets hidden because Windows sees it as an application and not a gadget (which is right).
Anyway to add this functionality?

Win 7, 64bit, desktop computer doesn't always wake from sleep mode.I have to switch off the computer and then power up again. Screen states "resuming windows". Windows button>shut down shows only a sleep option (no hibernation option shown)Power option is set to "Balanced", display off 25min, put to sleep 40 min Allow hybrid sleep is "ON" Hibernate after is set to "never"

My desktop screen never opens up. The computer just keeps thinking about it. Apparently a program is trying to load. How do I find out what it is or get it to load. Everything else works fine. I can go on the internet from the start menu by clicking on that icon.
When I use my scanner it reinstalls everytime. I tried to uninstall it and reload it with the disk I get an error saying another program is trying to install, try again later. I have a feeling maybe the scanner is the problem, but I don't know what program it is that is trying to install. Has anyone else had this problem?

How to make a batch file so that I can launch the ipconfig /all command right off my desktop. I know how to get to the command prompt and running, but I want to just put a shortcut and/or write a batch file with just a click. I can get the command prompt up. I open a new text file and type: C:Windowssystem32cmd.exe and then I save the text file to .bat and I click on it and my command prompt comes up. I can't seem to get ipconfig /all to come up at all.

Is it possible to make a link on the desktop, or elsewhere, and when opened, to open it with a specific program rather then the default? Specifically, I use FF as my default browser, but I would like to use IE for a couple specific links. I know I can just open IE but it would be convenient to create an icon/link on the desktop to the location, and when opened, to be opened by IE rather then the default program for that extension (FF).I just realized that I could make another extension, a new one not used by any program, and just make that extension opened by IE by default then rename the link on the desktop, I think that would work, but is there a way to edit the link and tell it specifically what program to use when clicked rather then the default?

i have an icons on the desktop. and when i create a new folder and after that try to delete the folder the folder doesnt disapper from the desktop and when i transfer a file from winrar to desktop its still happening! i need to refresh the desktop to see the folder. or if i delet a folder from desktop i need to refresh the desktop to see the desktop clean.

Yesterday i istalled Service pack 1 on my pc.
After that i found that i can't move any of my desktop icons. I don't know if there is a direct connection with the istallation of SP1.
Also i found that vlc doesn't properly. I have tried different version, but the problem is always the same: i can't move the video forward or back. I don't know if this problem too is connected with the istallation of the SP1..

my monitor exhibited signs of flickering during start-up, but only minor ones and would just stop at the 'Welcome' screen of windows so I didn't give it much thought. Iv'e been using it with the cpu the same time I bought the monitor.But after some time, the flickering got worse. It went from 1-2 second interval flickers to a whole 10 seconds of blackness before it showed anything.Now,Iv'e got a new cpu but still using the old monitor. After a day or so, the monitor exhibited the first symptoms of my first cpu, so I just dismissed it. But after a week, It got a hell worse, before I even start-up my computer, the monitor doesn't show Analog/Digital at the top-left corner of the screen. PLUS my cpu keeps restarting after I pushed the ON button after 10 seconds or so. Is the monitor responsible for the restart and what could be the reason for the flickering?

I have a win application that performs some long calculation, and since it's single threaded it doesn't refresh the window in the process. I was wondering why show desktop won't work because of that? I mean I know the answer, show desktop sends a minimize commands to all the windows, and this app won't respond.

I am running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit on both my local and remote systems.
My local system uses a brother HL-5250DN printer hooked up via a network cable (otherwards, it's not directly connected).
My remote computer was running Visa Ultimate and when I connected from home, it would see the Brother printer from the Windows 7 machine.
Since I upgraded the remote system to Windows 7, the printer is no longer seen remotely.
Any suggestions?

About 2 years ago I have bought SONY VGN-P788K/W, it's a 8" laptop with 2GB memory and 1.6 GHz processor.It's one of those looks cool useless things, it gets choked up very easily it's running windows 7 and about 70 processes in the background.I'd like you guys to help me get rid of the useless stuff, so that the laptop can perform better.
