My wife is getting colors that are different between her hp dv7 windows home and hp all-in-one b210 printer. The colors are correct on the laptop but come out quite different on the printer. I haven't been able to find any knobs to turn on the laptop to correct this. I don't have this problem with my xp desktop and hp 7200 printer.
Does anyone know where to begin looking for settings on either the laptop or on the printer?
Comments: To help others who may have same problem, this is what I discovered. I had her print a web page and the colors were really off. I replaced the print cartridges then ran another print. The colors compared well to the monitor. These (B210) cartridges are small and store a salesman had previously commented that they tend to dry up. The problem thus was probably gunky cartridges. I found a "clean print heads" function on tools. I recommended she run this monthly to keep the them clean (I don't normally use her printer). In thinking about it, I realized my 7200 automatically cleans the print heads plus its cartridges are much larger.
I got a new computer powered by Windows 7 which was upgraded to Win 7 Pro. I have it attached to a Xerox Phaser 8400 printer. The printer will not print in color when i use the word pad or Print Master software. It's own self test it prints color so I assume there is a setting I can't find.
HP deskjet 2050 print/scan/copy (not an all-in-one; about two months old.New color cartridge installed and alignment page is ok.Greyscale is turned OFF.Only get black& white prints.....
Admitted tech-tard here. I just got a new computer with windows 7 installed. Came with a wireless keyboard/mouse. I found that (only) in email my keyboard is not responsive. It is slow and types about every third letter. I got a new keyboard and it does the same. It is fine in word or searches--anywhere else. Anyone know if this is a windows 7 problem or is there is a fix? Also, it does it in all email-yahoo, gmail and outlook.
I am trying to prep a computer to give to a friend. Last night, I reformatted it using the recovery discs that came with it. It is a Tosh Satellite A105.Today, I have been finding and installing updates to the system, trying to prepare it for an upgrade to Windows 7, which is no easy task since I have had to go out and find some of the drivers and service pack 3.I am using the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, and need input on which of these 11 issues really are issues, and which I can skip and just install new once I upgrade.Adobe issues -- I uninstalled it.Toshiba Blue Tooth Stack for xp version 4.0 -- I downloaded and installed version 7.0, but have not uninstalled 4.0. It doesn't make sense to my feeble brain why I would have to uninstall 4.0 if I installed 7.0 unless it is because I downloaded the 7.0 instead of upgrading to it?
Here is a list of the rest:MS .NET Framework 1.1 --I downloaded and installed a later version, so which version do I need to find?Toshiba ConFigFree -- No clue what this is.Intel ProSet/Wireless software -- ZeroCfgSvc Application -- No clue Toshiba Utilities -- I have updated everything available from ms, so is this another one that I have to go find, and if so, what version?

definite fixes for the problem of compatibility between Windows 7 Professional and the D-Link WBR 1310 router? My brand new super-duper computer running Windows 7 won't recognize it as a viable means of getting on the internet. I am currently typing this on my Lenova laptop, XP Professional SP3, which runs fine wireless on the same router.Regardless of what I've tried (enter static IP addresses, opening up a new Broadband connection), the system won't recognize the router. The computer worked fine, and accessed the internet easily on my son's network (he put it together with the supervision of two of his techy friends).I am not technical enough to run diagnosis stuff, nor do I have the time to do so (in process of packing to move). Since I'm moving 300 miles away from my son, I'd like to get this fixed now, if it's something he has to do. If I just need to go out and buy a new router (even though I think this router is fine, and maybe Windows 7 needs to be more compatible to everything else out there), I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and do that.
MY case has a 7" screen that is NOT hdcp compatible. So to watch bluray's (TMT5) I have to disable it. I usually do this through the screen resolution property page. Is there a quick way to toggle this? Will turning off the 2nd monitor, turn off Imon?
I have Windows 7 Ultimate running 64 bit. The program causing issues is not new. It worked OK until yesterday. I have Roxio Creator 11 Pro installed and it will let me load individual parts of the program to use but when I try to open the full version I get the following:-C Windows Microsoft Net Framework v2.0.50727 cvtres.exe cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64 bit versions of windows. PLease contact the software vendor to ask if a 64 bit Windows cojmpatible version is available.I have Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile showing in my Programs and Features. I have uninstalled Roxio and reinstalled it but get the same message on my screen which will not disappear until I close the Roxio program.
after one day of upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 yesterday, my computer's screen saver stopped and had this weird colored line across the top of my laptops monitor...I restarted and right after the boot up screen it shoots the color line across the top of the screen. No matter what I do it just ends with the line at the top. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FW285J laptop. The thing ran amazing until just a little while ago. I've read that it might be my graphics card, but if that's the case then why does it show the windows 7 setup stuff when I try to reinstall windows 7. I'd dona clean install to see if my problem is fixed (though I doubt it), but I'm afraid of it resulting in my wifi and LAN not working. url...
I want to color calibrate my new Dell XPS 15z laptop, but before I do I'd like to back up the existing color profile in case I prefer it to the calibrated one ...
The only problem is, when I open Color Management, NO default color profile is listed, so I don't know what to go back to. I know there HAS to be a default color profile somewhere ... How do I find it?
I just built my first rig a week or so ago. I'm not the most experienced troubleshooter.
Building went just fine- everything posted right away. I set up a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and Ubuntu 9.10 dual boot. Two partitions for the two OSes, and a third for general storage. My copy of Windows 7 was purchased from my university's webstore, and the .iso burned to DVD using ImgBurn on a slow speed. The installs went smoothly, everything operated well for about a week.
I started to get some error message about win32kernell.dll being messed up. I thought I might have let AVG move something it shouldn't have. Then on a reboot, I got the "Windows was unable to start" jazz and the repairer, which eventually let me back into the OS, which was still not running smoothly, same error. I didn't have much installed on the machine yet, and decided to just do a new clean install from my install disk rather than mess with it.
Windows 7 reinstalled smoothly on its partition, if slow, and it seemed alright again for about a day. I then started receiving errors about installers not being able to run properly, and then on reboot, Windows was unable to start again. The repairer got me into the OS, but Windows Explorer was crashing every three seconds and it was unfortunately rather fubared.
Tried to clean install again and got right up to the end before getting a message that Windows 7 could not set up on my hardware.
The hardware seemed to work fine once, so has something failed recently, and how should I go about testing? If not that, please share. I could try completely reformatting the entire hard drive, not just the Windows partition, but I don't know if this would do any good.
I am trying to set my monitor's screen give accurate renditions of my pictures. I use Quick Gamma to set gamma. When doing this I can use either Nvidia's controls or windows controls (right click desktop>Nvidia Control Panel. When using Nvidia's Control Panel, there are two choices: Use other applications control color settings or Use Nvidia settings. Am I correct in assuming that the former setting is Windows? I always check the button to use Nvidia settings (and then Apply>OK), but when I go back to this screen at a later time, the Other applications control color settings is always selected. I'd like to default to Nvidia.
I have a new laptop, which was set up for me in the shop. Everything was working perfectly. Now however, my PC is not recognising the printer. I have previously been able to print from this laptop using the same cable, printer and USB port.
When I try to 'troubleshoot' this problem, I get a message that the printer driver is not installed. I thought Windows 7 automatically installed devices when connected via USB?
I have double checked the cable with another laptop and all is fine. I have double checked both USB ports with other devices and all is fine.
I have 3 laptops 1 x Win XP and 2 X Win 7. I have installed this printer on 2 of the laptops no problem, the 3rd l bought today networked fine and can print if the other printer(XP) is turned on. I wanted to install the printer on the new Win7 laptop so I can sometimes just plug the printer into it and print, to save turning other laptop on. But the printer driver will not load!! Each time the installation goes fine, but when l look in printers and faxes the yellow exclamation mark is there. If l connect the usb cable to the new laptop it says installing printer, but then says printer driver not installed.
I have a local network and the printer connects to a wireless router using a USB cable, I am about to get a wireless printer. My Lap Top connects to the internet wireless throu the Router when I bring the Wireless Printer will I need to connect to the printer thru the Router or directly to the printer
I can't remember how to easily scan from my HP printer to my wireless laptop. I am not too computer savvy, so need the most direct instruction anyone might have for me. HP PhotoSmart C4700 and Microsoft Windows 7...
I disconnected my printer from my laptop in order to take it to the other room wirelessly. When I needed to print something, I went back & plugged in my printer, But for some reason my laptop isn't communicating with my printer? Laptop: Asus G60JX.Printer: Epson Stylus R800 Photo.I also went to epson's web site & re-downloaded the driver to no avail.
I have a homegroup set up with a desktop and a latop, 2 printers which are physically connected to the desktop. When i open homegroup to see what devices are connected the 2 pc`s and the 2 printers show up but when i go to print something through the homegroup from the laptop only 1 printer shows up to print from even though both printers show up in the homegroup?
My daughter has an XP PC and an XP laptop that talks OK to a wireless printer. She now has a Win7 laptop. Am I right in thinking that the Win7 laptop cannot be made to 'see' the wireless printer because it has been set up on XP? It would be helpful to know before I get over there to spend some time investigating.
Redlegs here from Adelaide , Sth Aust. Have had to replace my HP printer ( been given last rites after 5 years )with recommended Epson printer. HP was WiFi connected to laptop which is in another room from the PC and printer and had been working perfectly.I have brought the laptop into the room with the PC and printer. First problem arose as I was told " incorrect " password. Router is a DI- 524 ( no longer supported on D- Link's web page as 5 yrs old ) After several attempts and " hissy fits " , I was able to poke around in a help web page and I think I found the password , tho it was listed as the " Preshare Key ".Have been using the Epson Installation disc and things seem to go along smoothly , then it always bombs out --" Not connected " message appears, I print out a Status Report it's fairly long and a little hard to interpret , but it does say the password " does not match the one set for your router/access point" .I did have some probs when I first linked my previous printer to the laptop , some years ago , but can't recall the many steps I went through back then.Have got W7 , Epson printer model is WF 3520, laptop is a Toshiba.
my laptop runs windows7 and is connected by wireless to my home PC running windows XP. The network printer is a brother DCP-145C and up until 2 weeks ago was prinitng from both computers well. My laptop recognises the printer but the printer does not print anything requested by the laptop. The PC prints perfectly. Sharing appears to be set up correctly.
I have an Acer Aspire 5740G and for some reason it hasn't allowed me to install my new wireless internet usb stick. I have an older usb stick already installed that I use, but it won't let me install this new one which works fine on my PC.
When I plug in the usb stick it makes that beep beep noise to indicate it detects the device but when I go into my computer the device pops up and then suddenly disappears.
I have my new HP eprint printer installed on my PC however when I plug the usb cable into my laptop after installing the CD it won't connect. This is during the setup when it says "connect usb cable" or whatever - but NOTHING HAPPENS!
I have got a Epson SX235W. It can be used with either cable or wifi. I have beenunsuccesfull in setting the wireless side up, cable is ok. The laptop does not find it when scanning to look for it during the setup phase. I uninstalled it and run setup again but only tried to do the wireless part and still no joy. The Epson site is no good and does n The WiFi on the computer and printer is switched on and I had the printer on the table beside the laptop so distance apart was not an issue. I have read that I need to go to register the mac address with the computer but dont know how to do this or even find the mac address for the printer.
I personally hate the Homegroup. I would like to remove my laptop from it and was wondering if I do so will I be able to hook my computer up to my laptop?
I am not able to print in program(ie works, notepad ect.) to my network printer. The printer is a Kodak ESP 5250 connected via usb to my desktop cpu. Desktop is hp running win vista, laptop is an hp running Windows 7. All printer sharing is enabled. I have another laptop( aser) running Windows 7, it's hooked up the same way and it prints just fine. Here's the tricky part, I can get my hp laptop to print a test page from within the kodak program, but it won't print from within any other program. It acts like it spooled but then nothing come out.
