I changed the skin, and now i use MAC OS X. Everything is perfect, but i can't change the fonts from right click on desktop...I want them just a bit bigger.I tried with WBS but i have a problem after i restart. I cannot logon again.

It's so annoying and unnecessary.How can I prevent it from doing this when all I want to do is vary the themes? View 10 Replies View RelatedSo in the last month i noticed some of my folders i keep on the desktop change form the newer slicker icon of a folder back to the typical windows yellow folder. Then more and more until all of my folders where like that.Then all of sudden some sounds started to go from a normal contemporary notification sound to a dull sound from XP or older.Then about a week ago the "bar" if you will changed from a typical Win7 style back to a XP one where its dull. And its like that everywhere.
I have tried icon programs at first to fix the folder issue and unless i wanna do it one buy one its sucks and i just want them back to a normal win7 folder nothing fancy.I have tried changing themes via the ones pre installed and it might change my desktop wallpaper it never changes the "bars"Also tried other non microsoft theme programs with the same results.
ALSO i scanned my pc with Malwarebyes, CCleaner, WinASO, AVG and cleaned all up and so on rebooted all the same.Thought i may have installed too many apps or at least big apps (photo/video editing) and i uninstalled a few with no difference.So then i decided to check out my ram. So i make a bootable disc of a memory scanner. Ended up getting into the millions of errors with the ram i had and i stopped it before it was done with the intentions on getting ram and not waiting until scan was done to tell me i had 500 trillion errors lol.
Bought new ram installed it started her up and BAM .... same thing.I have not scanned this ram as my wife uses it while im at work and when im home i do alota 2nd job stuff on it so i dont like having it offline long.
Behaviour of a dropdown changes in case we are changing the screen resolution. In case we are having lot of items, place of launch of dropdown list is getting changes as soon as we are changing the resolution.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis all started whenever I wanted to change my text size different by changing my DPI settings. What I did was right click, go to screen resolution, and clicked on "Make text and other items larger or smaller". From this I changed it to 100% from 125%. I noticed it had changed my font size to the 100%. It then made everything SUPER small when I changed my theme settings.Whenever I right click and go into personalization settings, I do the usual customizing to my likings. Since I want to save the theme, I do so by naming it, blah. Now I want to use the blah theme by click on it, and I do so. Everything is fine and dandy until I right click my desktop to refresh(out of habit). This is the before and after of the font sizes.

My workaround was to set a custom DPI setting, log off like it prompts me to, then changing it back to 100%, again prompting to do so. It is so annoying to do so.

I want to take a bunch of fonts with me, but Explorer in Windows 7 won't let me actually look at what files are in the font directory; all I can see is their characteristics, provided by Control Panel. Will it work to just copy font files into that directory from the XP machine? Or is there some additional voodoo to get them installed?

Except I still have 3d fonts under the icons on the desktop and they look terrible on a solid background. The setting is the font for "icons" - changing the style or size of the font shows up on the desktop. But I can't get rid of the 3d. Difference between a work of art and really ugly.

I am from Sri Lanka, and hence I use Sinhala and Tamil fonts from time to time. I have discovered that certain fonts appear fully on the Fonts Panel in the CP. However, other do not (that is, those others appear faded on the CP Fonts panel). WHen I change my font type to a Sinhala font that appeared fully on the panel, it types well on MS Word. But when I try to type in a Sinhala font that appear faded in the CP Fonts Panel, it types in English. how this can be, and what steps I can use to remedy it? to prevent it?

View 0 Replies View RelatedEverything is fine now. If I did something, not sure what worked exactly, but I won't argue Got a strange issue. I've been doing some fiddling recently with customizing Windows 7 (specifically, installing Rainmeter and trying to install custom themes). When I tried to install a theme, however, I ended up with font troubles. Apparently it wrote over some of the main fonts and, oddly enough, made the font show up transparent in some places. (a specific example is in a folder I created on the desktop) Is there a way to restore the fonts completely to default? I've tried restoring to defaults in font settings, but no-go. What do you guys think? I'm thinking I should give up custom themes for a bit until I can make a restore point (I like to dive into things like this. Keeps it challenging, you know ) EDIT: Forgot to mention that this is all on the 64 bit version!

I received my laptop yesterday - Core i5, 4GB RAM, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I proceeded to install some apps from Microsoft and Adobe. Installation went fine and the apps started without problems. As soon as I saw the long list of fonts in Word, I wanted to remove as many of them as I possibly could. Brought up Fonts panel. Only 10 fonts - 10 ancient, bitmap fonts. What!? I saw and selected many fonts in Microsoft and Adobe apps. The fonts are indeed there, but they are simply not shown - no Segoe, no Cambria, no Corbel, no Constantia, not even Arial and Times New Roman, nothing.I got nervous and decided to restore Windows all the way back to the starting point.Today, I created the recovery DVDs from the factory partition. Rebooted from the DVDs to re-image C drive. Set up Windows and created my account. Windows 7 came up fresh. I went straight to the Fonts panel to check. Horror - the same 10 bitmap fonts, and nothing else.The factory-installed Windows 7 has problems showing fonts? What should I do now?
