Canon G2 Camera Is Not Recognized Under Windows 7?
Jun 26, 2011
have the same problem with my Canon G2 / Windows 7 home premium 64 bitsCamera is not recognised.Have downloaded a new DC WIA driver and still not recognised.Camera does not show up in computer or anywhere else. Will show under hardware stating driver not installed.
I have two HP laptops and a Canon SX130is digital camera. I am not using Canon's camera software -- I just want to download photos. Both computers are running Windows 7-64. Both are Home Premium Versions. On my HP Envy, USB recognizes, the camera, AutoPlay opens so I can select my action and I can also browse the memory card in Windows Explorer. On my HP DM4, USB recognizes the camera, but no AutoPlay on any USB port. SD memory cards and flash drives open AutoPlay, so the issue is about the camera on one computer.I have checked the AutoPlay settings, run net start shellhwdetect and the results are the same.
I can offload my pictures to an old WinXP computer, it isn't possible to lug that with us on vacation. I'm bringing my laptop. What can I do to get pictures on to my computer? The camera has only a 1GB CF Card, and I don't want to blow $30 on another card, or a card reader if it can be avoided.
I have Windows 7. I also have a Canon Digital Rebel XT that I am trying to load the software onto my laptop. I have the original discs. Loaded them, plugged in the camera and got an error message that there is no driver for this camera. I downloaded the upgrades from Canon's website, still no luck. Windows states that this camera is compatible...
Upgraded from Windows XP to 7. When I plug the camera in, Windows Explorer "sees" it as "Canon Powershot A540" instead of "drive J:", so the Autoplay does not starteredThe LONG of it: Windows 7 won't recognize my camera as a drive, such as "drive J". Instead it sees it (in Windows Manager) as Canon Powershot A540, with subfolders "internal storage", and "external storage". Because of this, Autoplay doesn't come up when it is plugged in. My other camera, a Fuji A303, when plugged in, has the autoplay pop up, and is displayed as "drive J" in Windows Manager. If I take the SD card out of the Canon and put it in a USB card reader, the Autoplay pops up, and "sees" pictures, and Windows Manager calls the card Canon_DC (J A friend says the computer is seeing "plug and play" firmware in the Canon. Did I change something in the camera, or did some kind of software get on the SD card?
I have a new computer (Asus K53E) with Win 7 x64 - My camera is a Canon SD 750, and I'd like to use Photo Scape to work with my pics, not the Canon browser or the Windows Photo Gallery. So I've set my photos to import via Windows in Auto Play, and to auto delete afterward. The problem I'm seeing is that once the photos are imported into my computer and deleted from the camera, the little Windows pop up box that notifies me of the deleting process stays on the screen - it will not disappear until I either use Task Manager to stop it, or I reboot the computer. I really would like to continue using the simple and effective Windows process to import my camera's pics, and to continue using Photo Scape as my photo browser/editor.
I have an older Canon Imageclass MF5750 that I have installed on my new computer. Windows 7 puts it in the "Unspecified" portion of the devices/printer on control panel. With it being here, I have no way to force it to update the drivers. I do have the drivers downloaded, but I can't figure out how to make it know that the unspecified device is a printer and, therefore, be able to update drivers.Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.
I have a Canon Power Shot SD600 which I am attempting to upload photos from. I have a new Toshiba Sattelite. The USB ports work fine for every other use so far (I-Pod, external monitors, wireless keyboard, etc.). Even when I unplug all of these things, the camera is not recognized. There are no beeps, or alerts that I have plugged anything in. The camera is turned on and I have tried plugging the USB into each available port with the same result.
I am unable to connect this webcam - this was working until recently. I receivde this message below when I tried to re install the software that came with the web camera or download other software. Can anyone advice me how to resolve this?"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"
i am trying to solve issues with my canon camera on the computer. it can not open up and when i try to check the control panel it shows the yellow triangle sign of the device drivers missing.
Both the Windows Compatibility and Canon Compatibility sites state the Rebel XT is compatible with Windows 7. That is, no drivers need be downloaded.
The EOS utility which is used to establish communications between the Rebel XT and Windows 7 is only good for Vista and previous Windows operating systems (I tried it anyway with no luck, then removed it and conducted a shutdown - not a restart - to remove any traces).
When I plug the camera into the USB port the following appears: "Device detected, installing drivers" followed by "Device drivers not successfully installed". The Windows 7 troubleshooting utility comes up with "No drivers found".
On the other hand, my Canon Powershot SD950 IS was simply plug and play like the Rebel XT is supposed to be.
How do I download a picture from my camera to my computer. Presently I am unable to do this. A friend advised me to download Canon software so that I can accomplish this task.
I have a Zotac 570 gtx connected via HDMI cable to my Asus VE258 LED monitor.I've had this video card and monitor setup working before with the exact cable, card and monitor.Something changed in my system where the monitor is no longer recognized for what it is. When i go into my Nvidia control panel under change resolution 1.Digital Display, 2. DVI-PC Display - Resolution 1080p 59 Hz. There is no DVI cable plugged into the computer and the monitor is set on HDMI input. When i go to my Audio playback devices, the HDMI connection does not show up at all, even as disabled or disconnected. When i go to play a game (Diablo 3, Skyrim, Farcry2) The game either doesn't open (skyrim) giving me the error that resolution is not recognized (but then does not give me any resolutions to choose from in the options menu) or will play (Diablo 3) but is stuck on extremely low resolutions with only 2 options.
Here's what i've done. Contacted Zotac and had them send me the most recent drivers for the video card. Uninstalled originals and re-installed the new ones. Contacted Asus (they say its not the monitor as long as its set on HDMI input) I am unable to find a driver that will make my computer (Windows 7) recognize the monitor for what it is. Zotac failed after their attempt with the driver and told me to RMA the card. So i did... i waited a month.
Vista x64 natively supported a bunch of canon printers with x64 drivers. For some printers this support has gone under Windows 7 x64. Perhaps this will help some people ... .
I mounted a Vista x64 ISO-image/source, extracted the folder with the canon printer drivers and installed the Colorpass Z40e driver under Windows 7 x64. In my case I used this driver für a Canon Colorpass Z400e (Canon CLC 1100).
Extraxct :
- use 7zip
- under options check "wim"
- open the install.wim an verify your vista version (important if there is a 64bit and 32 bit version on the same DVD, in my case there was only a 64bit on the systembuilder DVD)
- choose the right folder and extract the canon printer driver folder with 7zip
Upgraded desktop to 64-bit and discovered that my Canon LiDe80 and Canon PIXMA iP4000 drivers are incompatible. So after some research and not sure how accurate, I read that the professional version would allow more of the 32-bit drivers to work.
I am trying to connect a Blue Snowball USB Microphone to record stuff with but when I plug it into the USB port it doesn't work. Windows recognizes the device and starts trying to install the drivers but then it fails and gives no explanation. In Device Manager it shows up as "Blue Snowball" but has a yellow exclamation point next to it. When I click on it and try to install drivers it says that there are no drivers available. The light is on the device so it's getting power. I checked their troubleshooting guide and turned the USB cord in the other direction. I've restarted my computer a few times, all to no avail. I am using USB 2.0 ports and my OS is Windows 7 - Professional 32-bit.
I consider the sound card but I can play music and use skype (if I connect a 3.5mm POS microphone to the back) just fine.
Recently purchased a xai mouse from steelseries. I plugged it in and windows stared to automatically install the drivers. When it's done I try to use it, it won't track and none of the buttons work, but all the lights are on. I then downloaded the software from the steelseries website for this mouse, it could tell whether the mouse was connected or not. After changing a few settings I tried to use it and the mouse would still not track, but the buttons worked. I can't find this mouse in device manager.
I've purchased a used Dell Precision 490 'born' June 2006 and 'driven only on Sundays.' The seller upgraded it for me from XP to 7 before shipping. (The genuine Windows 7 DVD was sent along with it.) The CD-ROM (TSSTcorp CD-RW TS-H292C ATA Device) is not recognized. The DVD drive works fine. The seller says the CD drive worked fine before with XP. When the computer boots up and also when restarted, the CD drive is listed as E: under "Computer" and also in the Device Manager. It does respond to a right click on E: to open the tray. When any of several CDs are run, the 'doughnut' spins for 5-8 minutes resulting with "E: refers to a location that is unavailable..." Or using the Task Manager to exit causes a gray out with "Computer not Responding." Then E: is no longer listed under Computer or in the Device Manger. The CD tray will not open.
With the CD inside it takes 5-8 minutes for the computer to shut down or restart. The CD tray can only be opened when the computer is first (re)starting. Without the CD inside start up is within 60 seconds. Using the Device Manager to update, the response is 'The best driver for your device is already installed.' Following Windows 7 troubleshooting, I've also uninstalled and rebooted to reload the driver. Checked the cables disconnecting and reconnecting the CD drive and mother board. Checked the registry for upper and lower filters (none were listed so none needed to be removed) and followed the numerous other measures listed in a thread, November 2, 2010... missing upper/lower filters registry cd/DVD - Microsoft Community Still unrecognized as above
So I just finished building a computer..got everything running on it, and now im sitting at my windows 7 desktop...my issue here is I can't get access to the internet...I am wondering if I need specific drivers or something..I thought, perhaps, it would be a simple "plug and play" procedure where windows would recognize it right away...however, that's not the case...I have tried removing the cord from the back of the computer into both ethernet ports ..I see an orange led to indicate that the cord is being acknowledged and there is probably some communication...but windows tells me there are no connections
I am using an Asus p8p67 deluxe motherboard with two ports at the back for the internet.. PS: its a bell 2wire modem/router
I'm currently looking to replace XP with windows 7 on my old PC, one so I can use it as a media centre for my TV and it should improve the performance of my machine a little.
The problem I have is, I bought a copy of windows from my local computer store, they've given me an OEM copy (not sure if this matters) and when I put it into the DVD drive it accesses for a coupe of minutes then nothing happens.
I have read that there's a lot of issues out there with windows 7 & installs and I guess I want the easiest way to get around ths issue.
What I've tried: 1. restarting the PC with the disc in it but it just booted XP from the hard drive 2. changed my bios setting to boot from DVD and restarted. The couple then hangs on a black screen for around 20 minutes and then boots XP. 3. tried opening disc in "my computer" but no files are visable, so I can't select the setup file 4. I have checked the DVD drive is working fine and it will even recognise my other copy of windows that was provided with my new PC, however I get an error along the lines of "incorrect installation disc select correct installation disc and select custom install". 5. I tried the OEM disc in my new PC and its recognised, so disc is fine 6. I checked compatibility using windows upgrade advisor it seems to say I have no conflicts and can either use 32bit or 64bit 7. I also download CPU-Z and checked that the processor is 64bit compatible and supposedly it is.
The only thing I can think of is to do a full clean install so format my harddrive and install, I'm happy to format the drive as I've backed everything up, however I've installed operating systems for years and never had this many issues. I'd prefer not to have to disconnect harddrives but if I have to then I will. I just don't see a reason why I should have to go that far to install an OS.
I have windows 7 on a CD (and USB as well) which does not get recognized on my laptop (Samsung NP RV520). I can boot from both successfully on 2 other machines. My boot order is cd, usb, hdd .When I insert windows7 cd, it is ignored and I get the choice to start the existing win7 installation in normal or safe mode or repair. (I have succesfully booted XP and I'll try Ubuntu tomorrow as well.)When I insert windows7 usb, computer freezes on the "Starting Windows" screen with logo. The existing installation of windows 7 freezes on the login screen, no matter what mode I use. It takes about 15-30 minutes for it to get to the login screen (and then it freezes) or it freezes before and shows a blank black screen, for hours.I did install UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD) and tried to use boot managers from there, but all of them gave errors when I tried to boot from the windows 7 cd/usb, or the cd/dvd/usb did not get detected at all. [code] I also booted miniXP from Hiren CD successfully and ran a bunch of diagnostics tools. GMER showed 5 results in rootkit/malware, but I'm not sure how to interpret them.Do these issues sound like something a virus in boot sector or MBR could do? That's a hunch I have, but I'm not a techie so I don't know.windows 7 was reinstalled at a service, and same problems started after a few days again.
To start off, I've been having massive problems with my current laptop. Mainly just the OS which started going wonky after a Microsoft update about a month back. Ever since, I've had to deal with slowness, lagginess and many errors. After trying to fix these things manually, such as updating, removing old files I don't need as well as programs, I had to eventually give in and do a system restore. And this is where my other problem begins. For one reason or another, the previous restore points I had are mysteriously gone. I only had one from around 2 days ago. All the ones I had from as far back as a month are history. Why I do not know. I usually check up on that to make sure I have one from way back. Perhaps I may have deleted them without knowing. So much to that.
I really want to do a complete reformatting or system installation. A clean one. However, my DVD drive doesn't recognize or acknowledges any of my OS discs. None of them. And they're all purchased from Microsoft. Not even the ones that came with my laptop are working. All other discs work. Such as DVD's as well as regular CD's. I updated the DVD drivers and still nothing. I tried Fixit and still nothing. I don't get why it only does this with the Microsoft installation discs.Currently, I am using Windows 7 Ultimate on a Dell Precision M4400. 32bit. The DVD/CD is a Toshiba TSST corp DVD+RW TS-U633A. I already tried cleaning the DVD drive as well as making sure all the installation CD's have no signs of damage. And they don't.
I did a fresh install just now... my MS Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 mouse is not working. I tried re-syncing it with the dongle to no avail. It gives me a warning saying that some functions may not work until a USB or bluetooth mouse is installed.I downloaded the Win7 beta drivers (both keyboard and mouse) from MS.com, no dice.. I uninstalled them both and tried the vista drivers with the same result. Odd thing is, it doesn't even show up in the devices menu under my computer, nor in the mouse profile under the hardware tab.I'm dual booting with my XP machine and the mouse works perfectly.
I have an HP laptop which I recently upgraded from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7.
The flash drive (Lexar Firelfy 2GB) I was using on the XP OS can no longer be read under the Windows 7 OS. Information are stored in it (I am able to access it with computers other than mine), but my computer does not see them.
I have also tried different flash drives with the same results. Under disk management, my computer detects the flash drive but is unable to read it.
I've been encountering error Code 43.I've tried a lot and I am running out of options.I'm working on an Acer Aspire 5542G.My operating system is Windows 7.The USB device not being recognized is my Wacom Intuos 4 PTK.
- I've de-installed and re-installed my tablet driver.
- I've shut down and turned on the laptop.
- I've returned the laptop to original factory settings.
- I've taken the battery out, and put it back in again.
- I've de-installed and re-installed universal serial bus controllers.
- I've used CCleaner to clear up my register.
- I've used my google-fu to it's full extent, but I haven't found a fix.
