I used BlueScreenView to check what was the cause of the multiple BSOD's i was always getting and it turns out it is ntoskrnl.exe. However, i cannot zip the minidump .dmp file to upload and I cannot view the file's contents at all either.
View 9 Repliestrying to get some help solving an issue my PC is having. I am getting constant blue screens and need to diagnose the problem, but I cannot access my minidump files. I have tried moving them to other folders and also tried using the "take ownership" command. Yet still I cannot get the files to open. I can't open them in wordpad/notepad or even the WINdebugger. I was hoping someone might know how to access the files.

For the past 6 months, I have been getting BSOD about 3 times a week at complete random times. It mostly occurs overnight when I'm asleep. I have tried deactivating all hibernate and sleep functions with no luck. I have tried three different anti-virus softwares and am now using Microsoft Security essentials. I have tried various settings for creating a minidump file with NO luck but I think I might know why. My BSOD is a Kernel data inpage error, stop code 0x0000007A, The sys file is lists 80% of the time is volgrx.sys but I've also seen an NTFS.sys listed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI usually send clients large images around 4Mb via the email. I also upload to various sites, files up to 15Mb. They are all usually jpeg or .psd format.
For some reason it just doesn't work anymore - they get so far and seem to just hang. I contacted my ISP provider and they went through all their trouble shooter but told me that the problem is my end.
I am using Windows 7 64 bit. I have tried IE9 and Google Chrome but neither helps. I use Microsoft Security Essential. I have tried turning off the firewall but this doesn't work either.
Smaller versions of the jpegs seem to upload OK. I haven't done anything to change what I am using recently other than to run the automatic updates.
I have internet satellite using an ipstar modem. No router.
I've tried uploading some files to my dropbox account , the small ones (under 1 mb) went ok but when i tried to upload a 5 mb file the upload process went really fast and i got an error saying "Upload failed". Then i thought something is wrong with dropbox.. went to my gmail account, same thing, upload process went really fast and i got an error saying "Upload failed". Tried a web upload site, same thing! (im dual booting with xp) tried my xp machine with dropbox and gmail and everything is fine.

Essentially, any uploading-related activity that requires my computer to communicate with a network is not working. I can't connect the iTunes store in order to sync my phone, I can't attach files to my Gmail and there've been a couple other instances I can't recall where I couldn't connect through a program. My browsers work fine and I can download files easily -- it just seems like the uploading function does not work. Possible virus?
View 5 Replies View Relatedsince beginning of july 2012 my laptop won't allow me to upload anything online to sites like facebook, Internet, attach files to emails and other websites. it seems i can't send files through an instant messenger, either, so i know it's not a problem with my browser. i can browse sites and play/watch videos & also download. when i upload a picture or an attachment, the gif image keeps rotating but the upload bar doesnt go above 2%. i've checked windows firewall's advanced settings, and outbound connections are allowed, and all the rules that would say anything isn't allowed don't have anything to do with files to websites. i scanned my pc for viruses using avira antivirus and also malware bytes anti malware. also scanned and fixed registry usingccleaner. finally did a system restore. im using google chrome. tried on mozilla firefox & internet explorer-9 but same result. did a reset as well. my os is windows 7.also i've tried turning off the antivirus & also firewall for public networks. that doesn't help either[code]

So I went to the series of iso files and extracted them to a new folder but 4 minutes later all the files were in just one big iso and when I tried to extract that, it said the archive couldn't be accessed. I'm not trying to make a bootable disk; I need the files within the iso and I would rather not waste DVDs unnecessarily.

The problem that I am having is this:When i open up the shared c: drive on a windows xp computer, and open a folder to view files, it only shows 122 out of the 227 files.when i open up the c: drive on the windwos 7 machine, i can see all 227 files.when i open up excel or word, and open a file that is stored on the windows 7 machine, it will open fine, but when i try and browse for the file that is stored on the windows 7 machine, it does not show it.now here is the interesting thing:when i open up the shared c: drive on another computer running windows 7, (not the server) i can see all 227 files and have no problems.i have multiple folders, ex: mypics2008, mypics2009, mypics2010, mypics2001, mydocs2000, mydocs2010, all shared off of the c: drive on the windows 7 server. this problem started a few weeks ago, i was able to see all the files in every shared folder off of the windows 7 server through all of the windows xp pr machines a month ago, and all of a sudden in the past few weeks, i am no longer able to see all of the files shared off of the server.i have rebuilt the index on the windows 7 server i have removed and redone ALL security, and sharing settings i have checked, rechecked and checked again all the file sharing settings I am stumped, and i consider myself knowledgable with computers.

It didn't work. I still got a "Codec Needed" error.
So I searched online again, and found Quicktime Alternative 322, and although installing that "successfully" the software still won't play the files.
I have had a lot of trouble with Windows 7 putting drivers/ codecs in strange places, and having to go online and find laborious instructions of how to locate them and transfer them to the correct location.
I am seriously wishing I had asked for an XP machine to be built. I have had to buy a new printer despite my old two working perfectly on my XP PC.
