Cannot Renew Ip Address

I have a d-link router "DIR 825 " I come out of my bright-house modem to the router and go across the room to a netgear switch. I have one computer that won't find a ip address when coming out of the netgear switch. I have to run straight from the D-link router to the pc to get on line. The other PC works fine coming out of the switch. Is there something I can check to get the one pc to recognize the IP address when coming out of the netgear switch?

I have a Linksys WRT54G v2 & latest OEM firmware. A few days ago I tried to release & renew my IP address to get a new one. It did not change, and just thought the Comcast modem was remembering the IP and just went about my normal web surfing. Today, nothing would connect to the internet. My WRT54Gs status was fine & had the same IP it had a few days ago.
I tried to release & renew the IP again, nothing changed. I called Comcast tech, and the automated thing reset the modem, still no internet, still same IP address. I released the IP & unplugged the router for about 5 mins, renewed & got the same IP again. I released again, and reset to factory defaults, same IP again. I tried connecting directly to the modem and see if I works, and it did!
I had another D-Link DI-624 Rev C v2.70 .. released the IP, and hooked it up .. everything works fine. So for S&Gs I released and hooked up the WRT54G to see if the IP changed at all, nope same IP! I would like to use the Linksys again, as the D-Link sometimes got funky under heavy load.

I have been having a problem with my comp that won't connect to the net. I did'n t have firewall but fixed that but still unidentified network error.I have dl'd fixes to restore network/internet connectivity but nothing works I think it might be winsock error.

I have been troubleshooting an error with both my WIRED Internet Connection and AUDIO since installing Windows 7, over a previously running XP SP3 OS on the same Comp.I have 3 desktops running through this working connection (Router) with no problems. If I connect directly to the Modem, no problem on the internet.Through the Router, my computer retains its connection one way, cmd. ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew.This lasts for a period but if ever awaking my comp, the yellow explanation mark returns and i repeat the command.Audio is also not working. I know its likely a driver error, NIC Card, maybe, but its an old comp we put together, what specs do you need to resolve this matter?

My internet connection shows 'no internet access' even though my ISP shows the connection is coming into the house just fine. I usually use a router (NetGear-WNR3500U) but I right now I have the Ethernet connection plugged directly into my PC. I tried directly plugging into my laptop and the internet works just fine. So I know the problem resides in the PC.
Some troubleshooting things I have tried.
-Power cycled my modem, router and PC.
-Repinged my connection from my ISP(Comcast Xfinity)
-Used the reset option on the router and the modem
-I was walked through the internet options needed with the tech support from my ISP to make sure DHCP was enabled and every other setting was correct, and he cleared me that all settings were correct.
-Tried ipconfig commands to /renew and /release my IP When I tried ipconfig /renew I get the error 'An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server'
-Restored my PC to a restore point where the Internet was working
All of these options did not work.
What I think the problem is and I am not sure how to fix it, when I run the ipconfig /all command my Auto configuration IPv4 Address shows 169.254.112.76 which I was told is a router IP address even though I am plugged directly from the modem to my PC with an Ethernet cord. So I think that's my problem? But I am not sure.

I am trying to obtain the ip adderess on a computer. When I go to run type cmd and ipconfig it is giving me media disconnected. I tried typing in ipconfig/all and it gave me media disconnected and said the physical address is 00-24-E8-24-47-40. I don't know what this means or what I need to do. I am trying to get this computer to work on my wireless network but can't.

I'm looking for a scrollable top links for Chrome.In other words the links just below the address bar so I can place more links and scroll to view them all.I feel like Browsers are going to be a window with tabs and all of us saying "where are our bookmarks?" "Where are our extensions?", "Where is the address bar?" followed by everyone installing older browsers and telling Chrome and FireFox to rethink the browser again because you gone over the deep end.

If I use live mail can I keep my present address??? I noticed that hot mail is the parent to live mail...is there any way I can keep my present address??
Right now my provider is road runner...I can operate my present email from them using my present email address, because that is where my pop/smtp servers are!

I really want to change my ip address. Not the ipv4 one, but the actual one e.g. the one when i go to [URL].I am Running Virgin Media Broadband, and recently got a brand new Hub [URL] along with a new ip and i was told that it is "dynamic". But if i reboot it etc it still stays the same? what can i do to change it? im on Windows 7... and im on a laptop with wireless.

I have 3 Win 7 computers in LAN (simple lan) with 192.168.1.5 / 6 / 8 ip address given to them. Default gateway set to 192.168.1.1 ( ip of my broadband modem).
Many times when my pcs are restarted , the IP address fields are turned blank and the option " Obtain IP address automatically" gets selected..
what should i do to keep the ip settings permanent ?

OK .. had (actually still have since I just installed a new hard drive for a clean install of WIN 7 and have the old drive available) XP using Outlook 2003.
Installed WIN 7, loaded the new Beta version of Office Pro 2010 (hey .. it was free and good for a year).
Don't have a Personal address book. My contacts did import into the Contact Mgr but this doesn't enable me to click on several email addys so I can send to multiple people.
Is tehre anything I can do to get the same capabilities I had WIN XP and Outlook 2010 Beta?
BTW .. I also removed Ofc 2010 and went back to my tried and true Office Pro 2003 but have the same problem.
Did the same for the Thunderbird.
I have never went to Vista (so maybe some of the shortcomings/differences were addressed there). I do have a legal copy of OFC 2007 (never been unwrapped since I heard it didn't have any new features I would use over 2003 but had a different GUI look) if that would help.
Also, Don't have all the folders I had with XP and Outlook 2003. I had a LOT of messages stored in different folders but import them (or don't know how).
Like I said .. I can put my old HD in and boot up my XP if I need to do special exports or anything.

I just recently installed a new motherboard in my min hp home pc when i put my hard drive in its see a problem with configuration iam assuming it has something to do with the mac address on the new board the old board does not work thus why i replaced it is there any way i can save the information on my old drive if i reload windows 7 or iam i doomed because of windows 7 licencing to a mac address
