I can access my mail so I'm sure its not a user / pass issue but I haven't been able to login my ym for 3 days already. The problem isn't only with my desktop, but on my iPod as well. recently bought a new Asus Laptop and am having difficulty login into some of my universities pages with the new computer (namely outlook web access and some library login pages). This happens regardless of connection type (LAN, WLAN and Mobile Broadband). I have reset IPCONFIG and other network settings and have disabled anti-virus software to no avail. So far, my universities website is the only one it is having difficulty with with other websites like facebook having no problems logging in. This happens regardless of browser also. In internet explorer, some of the images fail to load on the page (indicating the page won't fully load) and this is obviously followed by the fact that page says 'connection error' after clicking the login button and waiting around 30 seconds. It is also evident that this is not an issue on the university's side.
I have a weird problem nowadays. I cant login (not accessing) certain websites without using proxy servers with any browser. Some of sites say somethings about SSL, some of them take me to home page, and u know twitter, it says "somethings gone technically wrong" or sth like that. Even now, I connectted to proxy server to login here. So far now what i have done:
- The date & time are correct - I cleaned cookies - I resetted IE settings - I rebooted my router - I restarted my computer
Btw, I also have Ubuntu 12.04 and at there, everything works fine. So I think my problem is related with Windows 7.
when i attempt to log in to many sites (hotmail, Internet, steam community, razerzone, thinkgeek, my bank, etc.) after hitting "login" the page refreshes to show both the username and password fields blank and i am not logged in. i'm running windows home premium 64bit, and i'm using firefox primarily but the issue is present in ie and chrome as well. i think the problem is logging into secure servers, i can view https sites without issue, i just can't login. i have tried deleting cookies, history etc.
Recently, I could not access certain websites like Facebook. They will not load properly or won't load at all. I tried accessing them through my Phone and another laptop on the same Home Wifi connection and it works just fine on them.I tried clearing my cache, flushing the DNS, installing Malwarebytes, running scans.I use Windows 7, Home Premium edition. Microsoft Security Essentials.
I can use my internet just fine except for two specific web-sites (that I know of) that crash when I try to access them. those two websites are: what.cd and utorrent.com. when I type them into the search bar, I get this:This webpage is not available Google Chrome could not load the webpage because what.cd took too long to respond. The website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.I know it's not the website because other people I know can access them just fine.but there is an even stranger problem. When I do a google search in the URL bar, usually it works fine. but when I include the words "torrent" or "what" in the search, the browser crashes the same way. I can search for anything else and it works fine. But if one of those two words "torrent", or "what" is included, it crashes..
i have a computer with windows 7 home premium and internet explorer 9 i have a user account set up that i want to block access to various web pages.in internet explorer i click on tools>internet options>security, select restricted sites and click on sites.i add [url] to my list of restricted sites.after logging off and logging on again i'm still able to access Internet.i click on tools>internet options>content and click on enable in the content advisor section.i click on the approved sites tab and add www.Internet.com and select never.after quitting ie, logging out, logging back in, i can still access Internet.
I moved recently and yesterday got internet installed at the new house, and now most sites and yahoo and aim are not connecting. I can get gmail, this site, sometimes craigslist, msn messenger, skype, and nothing else. No settings have been changed, the only thing new is the new internet. My roommate can access all sites just fine on HIS laptop, so its not a provider issue, its my laptop.
I recently upgraded to an i7-2600k and z68 asrock mobo. (i had a 955be an msi mobo). Anyway i reinstalled windows (just an overwrite not clean install). Then i could not load yahoo.com, microsoft.com and a host of other websites. I am in a pc gaming clan and need to be able to access my yahoo email and some of the sites that i currently cannot access. So i tried a clean install on same hard drive and still same problem. So i tried a clean install on a second hard drive, still same problem. I have also tried a ethernet card (thinking maybe the onboard ethernet was defective). I have updated all drivers. I have not updated the bios cause it is only 1 update off. and that update says it has nothign to really add. I have win 7 64 bit os.
I also have an old vista computer on the same router that has no problems accessing these sites, i changed the computers to the other ethernet cables just to make sure and the vista one has no problems on the cable my gaming comp is on and my gaming comp still cant access on the other cable. so its not a cable issue.I have flushed my dns, reset the modem and a bunch of other stuff that i googled ( i can load that at least, but cant connect to any microsoft help pages). So i use my other comp to look up microsoft help pages and tried the stuff listed there.Also i cannot load adobe flash player - think this might be part of the prob. I go to adobe and click flash player, and the comp downloads it into my downloads. Then i open it and it starts downloading but stops at 12% and says connection timeout. every time. if i let google toolbar install with it that installs just fine, that connection doesnt time out. Im getting really frustrated and the only thing i can think of is to call my isp or microsoft and see what they say.
I am running windows 7 and had temporary norton subscription. The temp subscription just expired and since it expired, I am no longer able to access any secure websites. Does anyone have a clue as to why this happened and what I need to do to repair this issue. I recently upgraded my ISP service. Faster speed. Since that time however, I have been unable to load my everyday websites such as (url) and many others. I can load (url) and do a search. After spending a couple of days on this. I decided to do a complete new install of Windows 7 on a new hard drive to see if anything different by way of results happened. Using Explorer 8 which was on the installtion it didn't. I could go to those websites as previous, ie.' but if I tried to download for example (url)it timed out. This also happened attempting to get Explorer 9. I could also go to www.yahoo.com, do a search but as soon as I attempted to access my email that way instead of using my.yahoo.com, again it would fall over and timed out
As of yesterday I am getting windows 7 freezes about every hour or two. Freeze as in windows appears locked, can't open programs, change open window etc. No BSODs. I built the system over a year ago and it has been fine until yesterday, no new programs or updates that I am aware of to start causing these issues. I ran Avast full scan and boot scan with no threats and MalwayreBytes as well with no detected issues. After rebooting the system multiple times a couple boots said to insert a boot device, as if it did not recognize the SSD drive but after rebooting again it showed up. So I ran chkdsk which didn't find anything serious as well as Seatools long read test which showed no problems either. Ran memtest through one pass with no errors, haven't tried testing it for a longer period than that though. I've been running performance monitor to see if anything is going on right before crashing but all activity just drops as if flat-lining and I haven't noticed any kind of spike of activity right before. Weird thing was that my system had frozen but it appeared to still be streaming video to the downstairs ps3 (although it may have already completed the transcode before freezing).When frozen CAPS lock has no effect and occasionally the system will move a bit as if it has unfrozen and my mouse clicks show up but nothing happens until I power off and reboot.
my problem is that when i try to log into facebook,paypal,gmail,Internet,twitter,minecraft,..the works it continues loding then it says the connection has timed out.

I upgraded my OS a few months ago to 64 bit with new components etc. I kept all of the old system files and folders JUST for if it went wrong, now ive sorted them all out, the old system files, and adobe is locked for some reason? I keep trying to change all of the administration but it just jumps straight back to before, but hey, im in no hurry to change it, its only 15gb of useless copies! Its just niggling at me and i would like to get it sorted if theres any other way? ie changing the admin account so i can change - everything-, as I'm not exactly new with computers, been studying them for years.
- Also, a little off topic if anyones got enough time to add some wisdom to the thread, ive just bought a super duper cooler for my CPU as when i run on normal settings on a game I play, LotrO, the manufacturers fan goes mad, and it really gets my goat making a loud whirring sound, would I be able to run on High-Ultra with a duel core amd athlon 2? with that fan I have "Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Socket 775 CPU Cooler" it wouldnt make any sound as its made for being quiet and cool very well. i suppose the only sign of the strain is artifacts in-game?
My computer freezes for a few seconds every now and then and I clearly have no idea why causes it.

Lately the computers in my house have been having an issue maintaining a stable Internet connection. Our setup is the typical cable modem -> wireless router -> computers. We can connect to the wireless network no problem (always with the "Internet Access" icon as well), but typically pages cut in and out. This will happen once or twice a day out of nowhere, and last for a while.
The cable modem lights indicate nothing unusual. Resetting the wireless router doesn't seem to make a difference. I've picked an optimal channel. I'll be trying plugging an ethernet cable into the router later today to see if that works.
I'm not sure if it's the router or the cable modem causing the issue, or sure how to determine which it is. I don't mind buying a new one of either, but I'd rather not buy both
A colleague at work has this really weird thing going when logging in to Windows 7 professional 64bit.While he is typing his password, a window from the ease of access center pops up uninvited.Also I'm interested in removing the ease of access button from the login screen altogether.I only found 1 thing on google about it, but only for removing the button, I found nothing about the popup.
Woke up today to find my computer (which I never turn off) sitting at the login screen saying "Please Wait..." I've seen it say that before, but only when you'd type your password incorrectly and it hangs for a second before it goes back to the login screen. Anyway, when I type my password in and click login the system just hangs at the "Welcome" screen. I left it for over and hour and came back, still hanging. I've seen older threads on here suggesting to enable "boot log" after pressing f8, that did nothing.
I am able to log into the computer on an old admin account that I created over a year ago, it's never been used, it works fine. Acts like a fresh install and only half my programs are there unfortunately. However, programs can be reinstalled. My biggest problem is that when I go into my files on the old account while logged into my fresh account I can access everything after gaining access, but when I try to open "Desktop" from the old account the system just Hangs, just like it does while trying to log into my normal account.
When I right click to examine the properties of "desktop" on the normal account, it says 0 bytes, in fact 0 everything, like it doesn't exist. This is really bad because a lot of my work is saved in folders on my desktop and I need the data from there. When I logged into the new account and gained access to my files and saw that I could read everything fine in my documents I had a sigh of relief figuring that all I would have to do would be a re-install or continue on a new account. Doesn't it just figure that the desktop folder isn't working?
Purchased the computer late Oct 2011, only 2 month old when system would randomly blue screen and restart at regular interval (about couple times within few hours of each other every 9-10 days). my computer is a dell laptop Vostro13 with preloaded Windows 7 32 bit. I regularly lose my connection to the workgroup while all 4 other computers do not. i have shortcuts direct to various machines that fail. i can sometimes restart the network by going into the my network places section and it can then connect to the other workgroup computers but sometimes a full reboot is required. this happens sometimes multiple times in a day. i have turned off the power save settings that shut down wifi, i am using built-in wifi connection like the other machines on my workgroup are.
I'm having an annoying problem. With my desktop computer I'm unable to access the webmail login for my work website. I'm not positive, but I thought it might be due to the full version trial of Malwarebytes that I installed. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Malwarebytes using Revo Uninstaller, and now have just the standard version, and I still have the problem.
I can access my work website (except for the webmail login), but when I try to ping my work website I get "general failure" results. I also get "general failure" results when pinging the webmail login.I can access the webmail login through my laptop. The reason I think it might be Malwarebytes is because from what I remember random websites stopped loading after I opted for the full version trial.I tried disabling Windows Firewall and Security Essentials real time scanning I've tried to access the webmail login using Firefox, Chrome and IE and none worked. I've tried using my cell phone as a modem to bypass the router and that didn't work.
i've been running windows 7 on my computer ever since i found out i need a higher bit os to run my movie editing programs. as i filled up my c drive and d drive with clips and photos and what not, my computer started doing weird things. the crashes are never consistent, sometimes the screen goes black, sometimes it freezes, sometimes i get a blue screen, and sometimes i can't even start the thing. i tried freeing up some space on my computer but no luck. now i can't even watch a Internet video without it crashing. so:
a) if i have no memory left on the computer, does this affect how it runs? when it was extremely full i wouldn't even be able to view pictures and stuff, but i have 2.5 gb left on c right now so i can view pictures but i can't even watch a Internet video or run 2 or 3 tabs at once b) i downloaded my os off the internet, but it's never given me any problems. could this be buggy? c) my old os is on the d drive and it takes up a lot of space, can i delete it to free up space? is it a good idea to? d) do i need a ram upgrade? i really don't even know how much i have, it says 2 gb ddr2 memory if that means anything. at idle it runs at about 57%

It show the name of some hieroglyphics w/ "Date created: 4/3/2011..." -"Continue"- -"Skip"- -"Cancel"- If I continue, it changes -"Continue"- to -"TryAgain"- I notice that in the note it says "You require permission from <<my computersubfolder>> to make changes to this folder."
But I already have permission: I'm logged in as that person. I change to name to "corrupted" and tried to delete but won't work...
He has a mesh pc (so no help poss from manufacturer!)Kept getting a bsod. He had a faulty HD, so that was replaced with windows 7 Pro 64 installed (retail) from scratch and still the fault occurs. Am attaching files as requested. Has a core 2, 2gb ram, no problems occurred during windows installation.
I'm using Windows 7 Pro. I have remove the login pw in my user account now I do not need to do the login and able to use the computer right away. But I found I am using the computer as a user not administrator. How can I skip the login screen and go straight into desktop as administrator.
There's nothing wrong with my computer that I know of, just noticing these black flashes for some time now and thought I would finally seek information on why this could be happening. It happens everytime I turn on my computer, two black screen flashes at the login screen and another black flash in the main menu screen right after logging in.

I have an RDP Server on a windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and i would like to be able to use another system login screen to connect to this server. As in when i turn of display last local users, so that if i was to enter XXX into the username and XXX into the password and it will connect Although i wouldnt mind being able to set up roaming profiles between these systems either.
I tried to setup my home network(peer-to-peer without server) to share some files without succeeding. Ok.
