Windows 7 Cannot Access Certain Websites After ISP Upgrade
Nov 28, 2012
I recently upgraded my ISP service. Faster speed. Since that time however, I have been unable to load my everyday websites such as (url) and many others. I can load (url) and do a search. After spending a couple of days on this. I decided to do a complete new install of Windows 7 on a new hard drive to see if anything different by way of results happened. Using Explorer 8 which was on the installtion it didn't. I could go to those websites as previous, ie.' but if I tried to download for example (url)it timed out. This also happened attempting to get Explorer 9. I could also go to www.yahoo.com, do a search but as soon as I attempted to access my email that way instead of using my.yahoo.com, again it would fall over and timed out

Recently, I could not access certain websites like Facebook. They will not load properly or won't load at all. I tried accessing them through my Phone and another laptop on the same Home Wifi connection and it works just fine on them.I tried clearing my cache, flushing the DNS, installing Malwarebytes, running scans.I use Windows 7, Home Premium edition. Microsoft Security Essentials.

I can use my internet just fine except for two specific web-sites (that I know of) that crash when I try to access them. those two websites are: what.cd and utorrent.com. when I type them into the search bar, I get this:This webpage is not available Google Chrome could not load the webpage because what.cd took too long to respond. The website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.I know it's not the website because other people I know can access them just fine.but there is an even stranger problem. When I do a google search in the URL bar, usually it works fine. but when I include the words "torrent" or "what" in the search, the browser crashes the same way. I can search for anything else and it works fine. But if one of those two words "torrent", or "what" is included, it crashes..

I moved recently and yesterday got internet installed at the new house, and now most sites and yahoo and aim are not connecting. I can get gmail, this site, sometimes craigslist, msn messenger, skype, and nothing else. No settings have been changed, the only thing new is the new internet. My roommate can access all sites just fine on HIS laptop, so its not a provider issue, its my laptop.

I recently upgraded to an i7-2600k and z68 asrock mobo. (i had a 955be an msi mobo). Anyway i reinstalled windows (just an overwrite not clean install). Then i could not load yahoo.com, microsoft.com and a host of other websites. I am in a pc gaming clan and need to be able to access my yahoo email and some of the sites that i currently cannot access. So i tried a clean install on same hard drive and still same problem. So i tried a clean install on a second hard drive, still same problem. I have also tried a ethernet card (thinking maybe the onboard ethernet was defective). I have updated all drivers. I have not updated the bios cause it is only 1 update off. and that update says it has nothign to really add. I have win 7 64 bit os.
I also have an old vista computer on the same router that has no problems accessing these sites, i changed the computers to the other ethernet cables just to make sure and the vista one has no problems on the cable my gaming comp is on and my gaming comp still cant access on the other cable. so its not a cable issue.I have flushed my dns, reset the modem and a bunch of other stuff that i googled ( i can load that at least, but cant connect to any microsoft help pages). So i use my other comp to look up microsoft help pages and tried the stuff listed there. Also i cannot load adobe flash player - think this might be part of the prob. I go to adobe and click flash player, and the comp downloads it into my downloads. Then i open it and it starts downloading but stops at 12% and says connection timeout. every time. if i let google toolbar install with it that installs just fine, that connection doesnt time out. Im getting really frustrated and the only thing i can think of is to call my isp or microsoft and see what they say.

I can access my mail so I'm sure its not a user / pass issue but I haven't been able to login my ym for 3 days already. The problem isn't only with my desktop, but on my iPod as well. As it turns out, other people in the house couldn't access it on their gadgets eitherThen I tried to look up ways to fix it but apparently, I can't access any of yahoo's sites related to the messenger (ex:messenger.yahoo.com).To make things worse, just today, I couldn't access hostmonster.com and all sites that uses its domain.s affecting my work. Here are some things I already tried:Uninstall / reinstall ymClear cache and cookies on ALL BROWSERSFix LAN settings (i unchecked everything, tried different combos even)Flush DNSClean RegistryReset routerTweak MTUDirectly connected to modem

I recently upgraded my computer with a new solid state drive and a fresh copy of windows 7, was previously running XP. The install was eventually successful and the computer turns on and runs fine. The old C drives (they were two disks linked together) is now listed as the F drive, but windows 7 won't let me access the drive, saying "you need to format this drive).I was worried that I had somehow broken them, I moved my system back to the original configuration (with the two drives in slots 0 and 1) and xp booted and ran just like it used to.

Has anyone else had the problem of not being able to access their email (random ones) or Yahoo! Mail's newest configuration after you upgraded to Windows 7?
I have IE8, Firefox's latest and Safari and none of these browsers will allow me to access my Yahoo email, except in "classic." I spent several hours on the phone with Sony (I have a Vaio and the Windows 7 upgrade was free), and they couldn't understand why this was happeneing in each of the browsers. I sent an email to Yahoo, but I haven't heard back from them. The tech I talked to at Sony said that quite a few people had called in with the Yahoo issue. Any thoughts?

Since I upgraded my OS from XP to Windows 7, I could not connect to certain websites (eg. www.blogger.com) and some websites takes a long time to load (eg. Sign In). It's not my connection problem cause I tried the website on my other PC and it worked but not this one.I also couldn't upload photos to facebook, twitter and other sites. I have tried opendns but no luck. I've also unchecked all on the 'Advanced JavaScript Settings' in Firefox. Also Windows Update keeps showing error '80072EE2' even after I have fixed it.

Java + You Adobe Centrelink - assists people to become self-sufficient and supports those in need police.sa, Geekzone: technology news, blogs, forums. These are a few of the sites I cannot access. I am also unable to access any websites that are offshoots of these i.e. Adobe - Downloads or Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions

I am new to this so bear with me. I am running Windows 7 (64bit, Home Premium) and IE8 (new Acer PC in April '11). I am having compatability problems with sites I originally was able to access (not able to log on). Also, having moved from New England to SC, my wife and I would like to join Facebook to keep in touch with family. When I access the Facebook web page I am getting a message that I need to update my browser. I have tried IE9, Chrome, Navigator & Safari and continue to get the same response from Facebook. I have the same issue with other sites I was able to access previously (I recall reading somewhere that in June some of the "patch tuesday" fixes from MS might be troublsome).

I have Windows 7 Home 64 bit, and I'm using IE9 32 bit. Suddenly yesterday morning IE9 could no longer display pages from certain websites . It connects and tries to fetch the page, but after a minute or two it gives up and displays the standard "Internet Explorer Cannot Display This Page" message. Here are some of the websites that IE9 can no longer show:
Photobucket
Barnesandnoble
Microsoft
Yahoo Mail!
Strangely, I can still reach some Yahoo sites, and appear to be signed in, and can even see my mail box on my MyYahoo page, but can't go directly to it. I've experimented with different settings for IE options, popupblocker, active-x, flash, but nothing works. I've also added these sites to my list of trusted sites in the security tab, which has the lowest possible security settings, but that doesn't work either. Another thing I've discovered is that IE9 appears to download part of the source code for these pages but not all of it. I can still access most sites as usual. It's just particular sites such as those I listed above that have the problem.

The laptop connects to a website and then won't complete the download. The hour glass stays visable for many minutes or until the system times out. Everything ran fine until about 2 weeks ago. Another laptop using the same router runs OK.I completely reformatted the hard drive and installed a fresh upload of Windows. The problem was unchanged.I turned off the popup blocker. No improvement.Sometimes after the website is reached a message appears that the site is unavailable.Could there be a problem with a storage area used to receive the website data no longer being available to receive all of the data required.

I have a Win7 64 bit build that I've ran into connectivity problems with. I can get on some websites, cannot get onto others. Can get to the home page on some, but no further such as here, I can get to the main forum page, but then I cannot get into threads. Some sites, such as newegg, can't even get onto them. So far I've tried different browsers, including downgrading from FF4 to a FF3 version. IE8, Chrome, same issues. I have reason to believe that it's within the PC itself, whether it's software or hardware. I'm on my netbook right now running FF4 and don't have the same problems. I've even shut off the firewall and there is no other firewall or anti-virus on the PC.

I have a Dell Inspiron 14 that I bought last April. The hard drive crashed before Christmas and I had to send it to Dell of replacement. Obviously all other software applications on the computer were gone when we got the computer back from Dell. I have since reinstalled all software using my last license to do so. Now I am having major issues with internet explorer giving me an "Object Error" on some websites. All indications I have to reinstall windows 7. How do I do this and not loose all of my other applications that are on this computer?

For example, I can load Find a Local Business,Ratings, Reviews, Deals | Angie's List, but not https://my.angieslist.com/angieslist/login.aspx.I have switched from automatic DNS lookup to fixed DNS, but that makes no difference.the same problem is experienced with Firefox, Opera, and IE. I called Angies List and they do not have any issues ie, they were able to log into my account.

Basically, an assortment of websites have trouble loading. Some times they will take a couple refreshes to load, sometimes they will load in HTML after a long time, and some don't load at all. Sometimes a website will work fine, but then not load the next day. It's starting to really piss me off, especially since it affects such websites as:
- SoundCloud
- Twitch.tv
- Justin.tv
- The Escapist
- Facebook (occasionally)
- Many more!
As far as I can tell, this all started a few months ago. My internet spontaneously stopped working. I called my ISP (TelstraClear NZ), and the operator did some troubleshooting. Eventually the problem just seemed to fix itself after I unplugged and replugged my modem; I guess it reset my connection.I have a SURFBoard modem and a Netgear wireless router. The things I've done to try fix are:
- Changing my DNS servers - many times
- Using a different OS/computer
- Using a different browser
- Pinging the servers of stuck websites. Often I can't reach them with a ping
- Turning off/unplugging my modem and router
- Plugging my modem directly into the computer
I'm at my wit's end as to what the problem is. Everything i can see suggests that this is a DNS problem - the seemingly arbitrary times websites won't work, my inability to ping them, the random assortment of affected websites. The only other thing that would make sense to me is that it is my ISP causing the problem - but only for my connection.

I have a client that has 9 work stations hardwired and 3 laptops wireless and 1 server hard wired and none of them can connect to 2 specific websites. The workstations are running Windows 7 Pro 64bit, laptops are Windows XP Pro and the server is Windows Server 2008 Standard R2 64bit. They were all able to open the 2 sites last Friday and now they cannot. I can ping and trace rout the IP address of the 2 sites and get no loss but if I ping/trace rout the site name it will not work. I know its not the sites that are having the problem because I can open it on my cell phone. But when I hook up my phone to their wireless I cannot open the site. If I put a static DNS IP of their ISP on the computers then I am able to connect to the 2 sites. I called there ISP and they said something must of changed in there network but I check all there settings and nothing has changed. I have never seen this before and am at a loss of what to do.
