View 2 RepliesI recently purchased DELL N5050 laptop. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate OS on it. I installed all the drivers required from this link: url...But whenever i play any media (viz., audio/video), only front-right speaker sound playing can be heard. The front-left speaker does not work. Its a brand new laptop. I tried re-installing all the drivers (which i thought may not have been installed properly).

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust bought a new set of desktop speakers. The volume and tone controls are on the right-side speaker. As I use my mouse, right handed, and the volume control more or less together for some work, this is a bit of a pain.
I can, of course, just move the speakers, but my son objects; for some videos and games, I guess it is important to have right-right, and left-left.
I have the Creative/Soundblaster audio setup. If I do interchange the speakers to the way I like, is there any option, anywhere, where I can have the left channel sound now going to the right speaker, and the right channel sound going to the left speaker ?
Creative, and the MS Audio options doesn't seem to have a way. I don't want to re-wire any plugs.
I'm having a problem with my audio. I just installed Windows 7 64 bit. Before I was using 32 bit, so it transferred all my old windows files to a folder called "Windows old". I deleted most of it and transferred the personal files I wanted to keep. Ever since the upgrade my left speaker would make a "pop" sound after I'd wake the computer from sleep mode and it would stop working. So what I've been doing to get the left channel to work is disabling then re-enabling the "Via High Definition Audio" driver. It also works if I reboot the PC. What is causing the left channel to go out after sleep mode? When it's out, it would "pop" once in a while, almost like it's trying to work.
Here are my specs:
Windows 7 64 bit with latest updates
ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO Motherboard
AMD Athlon II x4 620 @ 2.6 (3.1 OC)
4 GB RAM of DDR3 (Upgrading to 8gb tomorrow)
XFX Ati Radeon 5770 (Xfire tomorrow)
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with a Realtek HD Audio sound card. Whenever I use several headphones in the front jack, they all work perfectly fine. However, whenever I have my speakers (I tried using 2 different pairs of speakers to make sure it wasn't just one pair being affected) SECURELY inserted into the back green port of my computer, there is sound only coming from the left speaker while the right speaker is playing absolutely no sound. This happened to both pairs of speakers that I own.
I have tried the following and none worked:
- Update drivers
- Disable speaker and then enable
- Switching from back jack to front jack (vice versa)
- Balancing so that both L and R sounds are at an equal level
None of these common solutions that I found on this site have worked.
where is the balance nob in windows? How do I control the left/ right channel?

Not just in word but on all places I type using the computer, even this message!I use this key constantly as I am a secretary and do lots of documents and letters and it is driving me nuts not being able to use this function. When I reboot I sometimes get the function back for a short while then it disappears again.I have just had a brand new computer put in but it happened sometimes on my old PC too so I don't think it's a hardware issue. I am wondering if I have accidentally hit a combination of keys to disable it or something.

Initially, it did it with Google Chrome, but after I uninstalled it, it started up Firefox when I pressed the control button. I have no idea how it started, I restarted my computer and it still persisted.

Normally I have only two monitors connected, one on HDMI and one on DVI. Yesterday I brought home a third monitor just to test around a bit, to see if I could get a third monitor working. I had the cables so I tried connecting it to either DisplayPort, HDMI or DVI on either of the cards, alternating. So far I have failed. This is not really a big surprise since I got info from Sapphire telling me it would most likely not work, since the cards do not support multiple monitors beyond two.
The most surprising part was Windows. It tried to detect the third monitor as connected via VGA and extend desktop to it. I went along and played with the settings a bit to no avail. The third monitor (an older Eizo) does not have a VGA port.
So I disconnected it, rebooted just in case, and left the matter for another day. To my surprise, Windows still claims there is a VGA monitor, diconnected, but it is there. My display settings: And the "ghost" display setting: How do I remove this last entry of a monitor that is no longer connected??
My mouse controls are inverted up is down left is right and right is left. I've tryed everything to fix this none seem to work.

When doing this I can use either Nvidia's controls or windows controls (right click desktop>Nvidia Control Panel. When using Nvidia's Control Panel, there are two choices: Use other applications control color settings or Use Nvidia settings. Am I correct in assuming that the former setting is Windows? I always check the button to use Nvidia settings (and then Apply>OK), but when I go back to this screen at a later time, the Other applications control color settings is always selected. I'd like to default to Nvidia.

I do not have DVD, and also for the two top AUX input its says that for PC. This is my PC, I am using gig 990fxa-ud5 and it is supporting 5.1
For now I want to say some thing, when I use this caple ( I have 3 oh this and i connect it ith my pc were Green and Orange and Black) from my speaker to my PC( in the speaker were its says AUX audio input L and R)I can go and set up my speaker to 5.1 so I can hear all the speaker work but, they all the same I dont feel any different. However, if I went to my PC audie settieng to check if I am using 5.1, I see I am using 2.1 but still the sounds come from all the speaker because of the speaker itself can change the audio but as I said this is not a 5.1 it is 2.1 because when I test it from my PC for 5.1 I only I can hear the right and left work. WhenI do the test and my right and left works as if the pc telling me, my speakers all of them work as if they are just right and left. So. since my speaker do not have SPDIF is there is a way to make it work ? I do not want to buy a DVD just to connect my speaker to it and then from the DVD to my TV.
I have a new install of Windows 7 (OEM Home Premium). The PC formally was used for Windows XP. The hard drive became corrupted and I figured if I was going to replace the HD anyways, I may as well upgrade to Windows 7. Under XP I had no issues with the on board sound card. The install went very smoothly except for the sound. The Playback Devices screen only lists Digital Audio (HDMI) and Digital Audio (S/PDIF) as possible devices. I'm trying to enable ordinary speakers. I downloaded the Win7 version of the the ATI Hight Def Audio Device drivers (I was using the XP version before the corruption issue). They appear to install fine but after the reboot, there is no sign of the drivers anywhere.

There is a red x over the speaker icon but disappears when I plug in my headphones. I tried downloading the SigmaTel 9250 drivers but they are for VISTA only and will not install. And when i slowly pull my headphone jack out, the speakers will try to kick on. So I don't think its a driver issue. I've already done the obvious ones so please dont repeat control panel.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 on my home computer. When I plug in my old speakers (Creative Intrigue 2.1s) whatever speaker is plugged into the right jack BARELY gets any sound. I did some research and it seems this is a semi common problem. I tried messing with all the balance levels and hooked up an old set of speakers which work fine. I also tried switching speakers and whichever is in the right audio jack barely works while the other works fine. The only other thing I was able to find was someone said they got a "new" cord and it fixed their problem. Is there a cord that would work with Windows Vista but wouldnt work with Windows 7?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently use an old Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card in my system. Worked wonders under XP (What didn't, honestly) and upgraded recently to Windows 7. My sound in Windows 7 works great, all speakers emit their proper sound in their proper positions and when I play games, I can hear everything like I did in XP. Someone sneaking up from behind has no clue that I can actually hear them. -.- Anyways, to my point...
Front Left becomes Rear Right,
Center Becomes Front Left,
Front Right Becomes Center,
Rear Right Becomes Front Right
My Rear Left Makes No Sound
And Sub Becomes non-existant!
This all happens just after a quick *Pop*, and suddenly someone speaking dialogue in front of me sounds like he is behind me! The only way I have found to fix it is to open my Creative console (I use Game Mode (Entertainment proves just as problematic)), set my speaker configuration to 2.1, then set it back to 5.1 and the sound works properly again! But, wait about another half hour, *Pop*, back to messed up configuration.I have an XP partition, works fine under it with no sound re-arrangement,Figured It was my speakers, Bought a new set, does the same thing.I've checked the cables: Everything is as they should be and placed correctly Does this in OLD and NEW games, as well as iTunes and WMP.
There is no option of 5.1 surround in speaker setup in Windows 7, but same option is available & also working properly in Windows XP.

I am not sure if this is a Windows 7 problem but it seems to have occurred since I upgraded. Whenever I am speaking on Skype or listening to a video the speaker volume slowly decreases on the volume bar until it reaches zero. I have tried searching in control panel to make sure all the correct boxes are ticked but cannot resolve the problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a computer with external active speakers connected to the 3.5mm phone plug. I'm using win 7 32-bit and when I start my computer the speaker starts to make strange sounds, almost sounds like an old modem. I have disabled the start-up sound since I don't want that, the noise is there until I do anything with the sound driver, or so it seams. If I for example I play a sound or even mute/enable the cd volume the sound stops and don't come back until the next time the computer is started. I have had the computer on for a long time without doing anything and the sound don't stop until I do something with any sound or sound setting.
Additional things I have tried so far to fix the problem but not succeeded:
1. I have been into BIOS and the sound does not start in BIOS, it is when windows is starting the sound starts.
2. Re-installed driver
3. Tried to set the register DrvAzComIdlePowerState and a few more to 00 00 00 00.
I don't know if anyone has had this issue, but sometimes I cannot click the "back" button or "file" or any other topbar icons either in IE9, chrome, also with office 2010. It is strange as when I restore to a smaller window then it works immediately, but as soon as I maximize it, it doesn't work.I have asus c90s laptop with win 7 32bit with aero on, I have some customized settings but I still don't know where is this coming from, it happens many times, and sometimes it just restores back to normal, also happens with my itunes, etc... basically any program maximized doesn't left/right click on any part of the topbar only if I restore the window to smaller size. Also it shows that when i try to click on the bar, it just goes transparent like I have chosen something from the back of the window
