I recently upgraded from xp to win7 home ed. Now when the system boots and the speakers work fine, however; after the system id for 30min or so the speaker drivers disappear. It does not matter if any apps r running or not.
I recently purchased DELL N5050 laptop. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate OS on it. I installed all the drivers required from this link: url...But whenever i play any media (viz., audio/video), only front-right speaker sound playing can be heard. The front-left speaker does not work. Its a brand new laptop. I tried re-installing all the drivers (which i thought may not have been installed properly).
I want to use the netsend command to send a message from my machine to another in a local network. (netsend was used to send LAN message with windows). I used Netsend before but it disapeared under Windows7. I know that netsend is no longer valid in Windows 7, so I was wondering what can I use to communicate with an alternative netsend
Minimized windows open and disappear immediately behind maximized windows. Like as soon as it finishes opening! In order to view it or work on it I have to minimize the maximized windows. Or exit them. I know I caused it somehow.
I have spent weeks researching this for an effective solution and nothing out there is working. What makes it even more maddening is everything seemed to be fine until an auto download of MS Updates went through and then this icon disappearing act started. I have already restored my computer once and that appeared to fix the problem for a while but then it reared its ugly head again and now no matter what version I restore it to, the icons still disappear. Here's the thing though! I can almost tell, by watching the lower right corner of the start bar when the start bar symbols pop up, about when the desktop icons will go away. SO ISN'T THERE SOME WAY TO GENERATE A LOG (EventViewer maybe?) THAT I COULD POST OR SEND TO SOMEONE SMARTER THAN ME, THAT MIGHT NARROW DOWN WICH APP OR STARTUP ITEM IS DOING THIS? I have looked at the Event Viewer but I'm not of a mind to understand what I am seeing or looking for. But I have to think if I know roughly which startup symbol showed up just before the icons went away, we could ascertain what's causing it.
Otherwise has anyone found the "REAL" working solution yet? Specs and DiagnosisWin 7 32Bit, ASUS laptop) Have already ran all sorts of anti virus, anti spyware, anti malwares. I do believe one of those found a virus and perhaps that changed a registry setting to make this problem start. But then again I did not notice the issue until after the auto Windows Update went through so it's hard to know which brought this on. I am serious when I say I've tried just about all of the posted solutions - some are so rudimentary (like turning off-and-on the desktop icons selector, and turning off the Windows orphaned shortcut (4 allowed) checking). And others I've tried, like registry changes and the like, are a lot more involved - BUT NONE DO A THING. And since it appears this is a relatively new issue that A LOT of users are struggling with - could it be something in the most recent Windows Update perhaps? Oh, and BTW I DO NOT show that I have INFRAREDRECORDER installed in my system, unless it might go under a different name? Because I do seem to also recall that about the same time that my system loaded the latest Windows Update I also had downloaded a new media player program (long since removed and name is forgotten). Could that media player have changed a reg setting perhaps? And how do we find it
I play free cell a lot. Recently the cards quit "disappearing when the game is successfully completed although the window showing wins/losses and asking if I want toplay again appears. It seems to run faster bu tthis happened after one of two things were done close together.
(1) there were several critical updates.
(2) I ran CCleaner register cleaner.
I am guessing a .dll is missing.I have gone through the procedure of checking and unchecking the box in Windows 7 Features nothing changes except I now have an empty Icon on the deskto but the game plays the same as above described. Also about the same time as some of the critical update,s my opening window has a thumbprint it did not have before. before all of this mess my start up went to straight from opening Windows splash to desktop as I am the only uses and thus also administrator.
I recently bought an ultrabook with win 7 home basic..i'm actually thinking of upgrading it to home premium but after UPGRADING (not a fresh install) should I reinstall my drivers ..because beats audio driver isn't available on the internet I think.
I recently upgraded from xp to 7 on my gateway fx530. Everything about the install was fine except I can't connect to the internet. I am able to connect with this modem on a different computer so there's nothing wrong with that. Windows 7 is not recognizing my modem for some reason. I am missing two drivers: IPMI interface and PCI Serial Port.
I have a problem in that whenever I open windows media center The cursor disappears. It seems as though it is there but invisible, as when I move the mouse around icons will light up and activate if I click on them. the problem has just occurred and was previously okay.
I am currently running a GeForce 9500 GT on vista and have tried upgrading to Windows 7 release candidate 1 from Vista. The problem is, Windows 7 doesn't like the Nvidia drivers I have on my system. So I uninstalled them. Completely. Restarted. Tried the upgrade again, and boom! Still can't upgrade because Nvidia drivers / nview desktop manager (yes, that is what it says).
I have literally restarted my computer 20 times, uninstalling, reinstalling and whateverinstalling. I have no idea what to do in order to upgrade to windows 7. The drivers or my actual hardware is not letting me upgrade.
I have just upgraded two HP DV9000 series laptops to Windows 7 (one from Vista and one from XP) and according to Device Manager they both have all the drivers installed just fine. Only there is no sound on either of them. The sound was fine on XP and Vista.. I know the speakers are working because when I touch the blue controlls above the keyboard the speakers emit a chirp (which is more than just a beep) but there is not a peep from Windows. Both laptops use a nVidia chipset and i have installed the drivers from HP's support pages both with and without compatibility mode. I have also used a couple of different sound drivers but still silence.
I just re-installed the OS after upgrading the MOBO and RAM 2 days ago. When I stream videos on line, I usually select the full screen option. In the past, the video would automatically take up the entire screen of the monitor. Now, even if I select 'Full Screen Mode', the task bar still shows at the bottom of the screen. This does not happen if I'm watching a DVD, only when I stream movies/videos online.
I checked my browser but didn't see any options for that sort of thing. Seems like it's a setting somewhere in Windows that needs to be changed.
these latest Updates have caused my various folders...music, downloads, images, docs....all my self made folders to disappear from the desktop. In addition Windows reverted back to default settings, I lost all my Firefox favourites and FF wasn't recognised anymore as my default browser, Windowes themes all reverted to default....basically a big scramble and mess. I did system restore and am back to normal...but Windows still wants to update.
What should I do? These updates are messing my PC up...but the updates are listed as 'critical'..
Recently I upgraded my OS from Vista 64 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. With the upgrade my graphics drivers were also updated. The problem is that I'm unable to watch videos or listen to music after about 2 hours of usage. Basically when my computer is turned on it works fine but after a few hours of usage all my video programs crash. I have to continually restart my computer every few hours in order to watch videos and listen to music. I've been googling for about 2 hours to find a solution, no results thus far.I thought it was a registry issue at first and I used a registered version of Registry Easy but the problem was not solved.
I have recently installed windows 7 32bit OS. after installation i checked speaker test all 6 speakers are playing, but when i play any music only 2 speakers will work. kindly suggest me what can i do for updates.
I boght a soeaker 5.1 channel and I found later after 3 weeks of trying to connect it with my win 7-64 is there was no SPDIF port. However, I will post pic for my pc and my TV and the speaker so you can tell me how I connect them and if I need to buy adapterThis is my TV it is Sceptre 32 LEDI am using HDMI Now this is my Speaker from Acoustic AA 5102This came with bad manual, it is only says were it is says DVD audio input, I should connect it to my DVD. I do not have DVD, and also for the two top AUX input its says that for PC. This is my PC, I am using gig 990fxa-ud5 and it is supporting 5.1
For now I want to say some thing, when I use this caple ( I have 3 oh this and i connect it ith my pc were Green and Orange and Black) from my speaker to my PC( in the speaker were its says AUX audio input L and R)I can go and set up my speaker to 5.1 so I can hear all the speaker work but, they all the same I dont feel any different. However, if I went to my PC audie settieng to check if I am using 5.1, I see I am using 2.1 but still the sounds come from all the speaker because of the speaker itself can change the audio but as I said this is not a 5.1 it is 2.1 because when I test it from my PC for 5.1 I only I can hear the right and left work. WhenI do the test and my right and left works as if the pc telling me, my speakers all of them work as if they are just right and left. So. since my speaker do not have SPDIF is there is a way to make it work ? I do not want to buy a DVD just to connect my speaker to it and then from the DVD to my TV.
I recently upgraded my Sony Vaio VGN-AR71S laptop to Windows 7. All went well apart from two issues. My memory card slots no longer show under 'My Computer' and nothing is recognised when I insert a memory card into the slot...and secondly My built in web cam no longer works (although the mic does) Under device manager I have one yellow exclamation mark next to a USB device which I believe is my web cam and another under an unrecognised device which maybe my memory card slots.
I have tried the Sony support site and done a search on the web but so far I haven't found any drivers or solutions to my problem.
I'm not sure if this belongs in Drivers or here, but I'm having an issue with the video drivers on my laptop. It's an HP Compaq Presario V6000 series,v6205 according to the limited tech support I received. The laptop was purchased in '06 and originally ran Windows Vista, however I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit a couple of days ago, and have had an issue finding compatible drivers, namely a driver for my nVidia graphics card. HP's website has the drivers for XP and Vista, but want to charge me to get 7 compatible drivers (59.99 for a one-time use). I've read on other forums that it is possible to take the non-manufacturer drivers and modify the .INF files to work, but I'm inexperienced with that sort of stuff. The card is an nVidia GeForce 6150. If there are any other details I've left out, I'd be happy to add them. EDIT: In the event that I can't secure the proper drivers, does anyone know if Linux is an option for such a machine? Or would the same driver issues be present?
I have a new install of Windows 7 (OEM Home Premium). The PC formally was used for Windows XP. The hard drive became corrupted and I figured if I was going to replace the HD anyways, I may as well upgrade to Windows 7. Under XP I had no issues with the on board sound card. The install went very smoothly except for the sound. The Playback Devices screen only lists Digital Audio (HDMI) and Digital Audio (S/PDIF) as possible devices. I'm trying to enable ordinary speakers. I downloaded the Win7 version of the the ATI Hight Def Audio Device drivers (I was using the XP version before the corruption issue). They appear to install fine but after the reboot, there is no sign of the drivers anywhere.
I recently updated my GATEWAY MT 6831 with Windows 7 and my speakers do not work. I have tried everything and cannot figure this out. There is a red x over the speaker icon but disappears when I plug in my headphones. I tried downloading the SigmaTel 9250 drivers but they are for VISTA only and will not install. And when i slowly pull my headphone jack out, the speakers will try to kick on. So I don't think its a driver issue. I've already done the obvious ones so please dont repeat control panel.
I suddenly noticed no sound from the rear speakers. (5+1) W7 64.I have creative XI-FI elite pro. The creative test would give a faint garbled sound from the rear spekaers, so I know the wiring is connected. However in windows the test sounds are totally off. All obvious settings are as supposed to be.I did run combofix a few weeks ago, and then I made a windows system restore.
I just installed Windows 7 on my home computer. When I plug in my old speakers (Creative Intrigue 2.1s) whatever speaker is plugged into the right jack BARELY gets any sound. I did some research and it seems this is a semi common problem. I tried messing with all the balance levels and hooked up an old set of speakers which work fine. I also tried switching speakers and whichever is in the right audio jack barely works while the other works fine. The only other thing I was able to find was someone said they got a "new" cord and it fixed their problem. Is there a cord that would work with Windows Vista but wouldnt work with Windows 7?
We have Windows 7 at church and we run DVD's where we only use the right speaker, to take out the vocals. WE could do this in XP, but can we do it in Windows 7 and how?
I transported my PC from The Netherlands to Argentina in a suitcase. When I arrived I noticed that the processor's cooler was loose but so far the computer was in one piece. In order to place the cooler again and protecting the mobo I had to take apart the mobo. When I try my pc everything was working but suddenly I noticed that Windows 7 doesn't detect anymore the "Speaker" interface, only the Realtek Digital Output.Did I forget some cable to plug (don't think so)? lose cooler damaged mobo?It is a Gigabyte EP-45 UD3, It's a self-assembled pc.Already tried latest drivers and erasing it and re-detecting it in the device manager.
I currently use an old Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card in my system. Worked wonders under XP (What didn't, honestly) and upgraded recently to Windows 7. My sound in Windows 7 works great, all speakers emit their proper sound in their proper positions and when I play games, I can hear everything like I did in XP. Someone sneaking up from behind has no clue that I can actually hear them. -.- Anyways, to my point...
Front Left becomes Rear Right, Center Becomes Front Left, Front Right Becomes Center, Rear Right Becomes Front Right My Rear Left Makes No Sound And Sub Becomes non-existant!
This all happens just after a quick *Pop*, and suddenly someone speaking dialogue in front of me sounds like he is behind me! The only way I have found to fix it is to open my Creative console (I use Game Mode (Entertainment proves just as problematic)), set my speaker configuration to 2.1, then set it back to 5.1 and the sound works properly again! But, wait about another half hour, *Pop*, back to messed up configuration.I have an XP partition, works fine under it with no sound re-arrangement,Figured It was my speakers, Bought a new set, does the same thing.I've checked the cables: Everything is as they should be and placed correctly Does this in OLD and NEW games, as well as iTunes and WMP.
