For some time now, if I try to follow a hyperlink in Excel or Word (2007), I get a message that says that it is forbidden on my computer and that I should contact the Syatem Administrator. I have no system administrator, as this is a home computer.A Google search reveals that this is not a rare problem, and usually caused by uninstallng Google Chorome. I neer installed Google Chrome!Several suggestions included setting IE as the default browser.
First of all before you all call me stupid and tell me to search, I have already done that and it did not work?I restarted the computer?I checked file associations?I reset the file associations?I Checked all the program defaults?I edited the registry by using the files here: [URL]?

Basically, the title sums it all up. Everytime I load the windows 7 professional, the 3 programs loads itself up too. Both Word and Excel starts with an empty page. IE9 will try to connect to the internet. And I can't seem to disable them from autostart. I have looked in the Startup folder. It's empty. I've tried msconfig. I don't see anything related to IE9, or MSOffice in there.
I haven't been able to find out what's interfering with these programs; anything I cut, copy, or want to paste goes through a lengthy delay before the function completes. I did do a restore to a prior restore point. There is a program I don't remember installing; it is called B Updater Service, dated 4/5/12 384KB.
I have recently reinstalled (via recovery) my 64-bit Win 7 Home premium . Every thing else is fine, except for office 2007. The program was installed successfully but office files didn't show their respective icons. For the first time for every office file (e.g Word or Excel document) I have to chose the program to run the file. Now though on clicking any office file they opened in the respective office program but still their icons are like office is not installed.
Had to re-format HD, and seems to be working now.But for how much longer, who knows. On the old setup, I had MS WORD and Excel. Many existing files of both.I only have, if I remember right, 2 or 3 downloads allowable/available from the Student Edition of them that I purchased a while ago.So, I don't want to use up what is left on my present PC, as I have real doubts about it lasting much longer.I heard about Open Office, and that it is free, and "completely" compatible with the MS equivalents. True? Are there "better" free ones that would work very well with my existing WORD and Excel stuff?
For unknown reason, I suddenly encountered problem with highlighting text on Internet Explorer (8) and words document (office 2003). I also have problem with dragging a cell (for copying a formula) to other cells in excel. I tried to play around with my keyboard (pause/break and scroll lock key), sometimes it worked for once, but I it won't work the next time I tried.
FYI, I am using windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and a razer keyboard (using windows default driver). I probably can try to install the driver from razor, however, i thought there is probably a simple fix for the issue i.e. a certain key from the keyboard got activated by accident (my little daughter sometimes punched the keyboard for fun).
Just started using a new workstation with Office 2010 installed by OEM. Everything worked fine for a few days, and then every time i attempt to open a Word file or Excel file i get the MS Office dialog box that states "please wait while windows configures Microsoft Office 2010". The dialog box stays visible for 30-45 seconds and then the program opens and works fine.
Ran a repair, four times, didn't fix it.
All of my research leads me to a solution of uninstalling and re-installing. I'm not buying that if everything worked fine for several days, that a bad install will make the program stop functioning properly.
I also noticed, while visiting help within outlook, that the product was still a trial version and not currently activated. I have entered the activation code numerous times with no luck.
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop which came with Windows Home Premium already installed. The only problem I have is that I am unable to access some links on certain web pages. I can look at photos, get contact names and various other information, but some links just don't work, even though they are on the same page.
This may be a silly question to most of you but I have a problem that I can't solve myself, the problem is I can't access any links in e-mail's to other sites, it is probably a case of switching something or the other on
I've been trying for a couple of days to download Microsoft silverlight to a laptop. I can't play any netflix without this. However, I can't access Microsoft or any links associated with Microsoft.I can't access any links to it anywhere.
However I have installed MS Office 2007, and now I have options to create new PowerPoint, Word and Excell documents. How would I go about removing and restoring these?
I have Office 2007 on Windows 7.When I am working on a sheet (or document) the ribbon can become inaccessible, nothing works when I click it (like a 'Not Responding' screen). If, I switch to another open sheet/doc and then switch back the ribbon is accessible again!I have uninstalled/reinstalled Office plus SP's twice but the problem persists, and, as is usually the case, this does not happen all the time but enough times for it to be really annoying!
I can't access my word files or word itself, I've uninstalled it and now I can't install a new version as I get messages saying I don't have sufficient permission. I'm not sure how to configure my user permissions. How I do this?
I normally use Word 2003 for documents, although I use Outlook 2010. This morning I opened a Word 2010 document and after quite a while of some sort of an installation, I was able to open the Word 2010 document. I did not think too much of it, except that later I was sending an e-mail and attached a Word 2003 document and when I went to check it (i.e. open it up) it opened in Word 2010. How do I disable Word 2010 as my default program to open Word documents. I do not want to uninstall the program, but at this point I am not ready to learn how to use Word 2010.
Have been using WORD 2007.But, I just downloaded and installed Open Office. But I only want to use it for its Spreadsheet. However, it looks like its word processing component has taken over. Now, my WORD documents are being opened by Open Office which I do not want. How can I make WORD the Default word processing program (again)?
I am using windows 7 and when I open a web site and then try to open a link within that site all I get is a tab that is blank and has a question mark on it. It doesn't do this for all links but it does for most of them.
I am having trouble following links on web pages. sometimes I get to the page I need, but most of the time it doesn't work. I then have to copy and paste the shortcut address into the address bar at the top of the page. Have I got something set up wrong
