Blurry Text & Icons In Select Applications?

I have no idea why but in some applications like Chrome, Audacity and Installer wizards, the text is blurry. It's not blurry in any other applications that I've come across yet. I've gone through the personalisation thing in Control Panel with the Display settings, and got to the point where now only select applications and icons are blurry, is there a way to fix this in these applications?

After recently switching to Windows 7 from xp after doing a reformatting on my hard drive, text and pictures look blurry and hard to read. I have gotten all the drivers for my monitor and video card as well. My current resolution is 1680x1050 and is the native resolution for my monitor. I honestly have no idea what happened since I've never had these problems on xp before.

I noticed that my current resolution is set automatically by Windows 7 to the max on a 22'' screen which is 1680*1050 at that high resolution everything is super sharp and crisp.. But if i try to go a little lower, even by one step, the text and the objects seem a little bit less sharp. For example if I go to the 1280*1024 resolution, like I am used to while running windows XP, the sharpness fades a little bit..
I just update my Video card driver
here are my spec:
E6600 overclocked to 3.4Ghz
ATI 4890
4GB (currently using 3.2GB on a 32-bit system)
Asus P5N32-SLI Motherboard

Whenever I make a new text file by right clicking and selecting new text file, it says it is corrupt, but when I do it by opening notepad and selecting save as.. it works ok.

This is not a problem occurring in any browser or in the BIOS or during the boot screens. It doesn't seem to affect any normal windows software (by which I mean microsoft products included with Win7.) I notice it primarily in things like Malwarebyte's, Spybot S&D, Alcohol 120%, and a few others. I'm hoping it's a font issue or something but I can't seem to get any reasonable search results anywhere. The problem is the text displayed by the above programs is often covered in random dots; sometimes just one or two and sometimes enough to obscure whole words. They change if you highlight a word and they move as the text changes (as it does during a scan.) I saw a mention about dots and a crappy set-up video card with no external power; just the PCI-e slot power. I have a Sapphire HD4670 1GB card that I am disappointed with anyway. I used to run an older nVidia 8600GT... other specs Gigabyte 785G series board with a Phenom II x 2 550 BE, 12GB DDR3 1333mhz RAM, Win 7 Pro x64 with SP1 (problem existed with 4GB RAM and pre-SP1)

My System OS: Win 7 x64.All ICONs for MS apps, Snagit, UltraEdit/Compare , Adobe got wacked when I installed Solarwinds Advanced Subnet Calculator v9.0.6.I have a request out to them to see if they have any knowledge.How do I get the original icons back?I had this happen a short while back but did not know when it happened and after trying the myriad ideas that I came across on the web and thru this form learned that this seems to be a known issues and has been since Vista but no fixes surfaced.As it has been some time since my last post perhaps someone has uncovered a fix.I just tried using the restore point back to before the Solarwinds App was installed and no change so it seems that whatever files got smacked by the application install did not get changed back by the restore point operation.

- I uninstalled IE9, then after restart, I can no longer see text in warning messages, windows titles, taskbar clock, or even icon names, something like that but without start menu even showing:
- I have tried all of these and still having the problem:
1- Rebooting
2- Scanning for viruses
3- Running SFC /scannow tool
4- Updating/re-installing graphics card driver
5- Windows repair from disk
- When I tried to setup a new copy of windows, I could not because it does not show me the message of "Press any key to continue" but only a blinking white dash then goes to start windows on hard drive. AND YES !, I set the boot to CD drive.

Okay, so a friend of my dad told him that he used to see the folder icons and labels in the left pane of Outlook 2007 in a bigger font/size before switching to a new computer with Windows 7. Obviously, we all know that upgrading Windows won't change font sizes that are coded into independent programs, so I'm thinking that maybe his old computer was running at a lower resolution. Anywho, my dad's friend asked my dad to ask me this question, and since I don't use Office 2007 anymore, I need to ask you: is there a way to change the size of the folder icons and labels in the left pane of Outlook 2007, without changing the size of anything else?

I downloaded and installed a PDF software named PDFMate to convert my images to PDF file for work. It was easy and my Antivirus scanner didn't object or detect any threats (unlike some other JPG to PDF converter software I tried). The problem was that the PDFMate screen display was totally messy. Text was overwriting icons the BUILD button was half missing. Why did it happen?

Ok this is wierd I have a client using Office 2007 pro and some of her docs that she recently updated and the problem is when she prints the docs text that she deleted is printing over the top of new text she inserted into the doc.
Now when you have said doc open in WORD the deleted text is not there in any view and does NOT show in "print preview".
I opened said doc with WORDPAD and the deleted text shows up at the bottom so its still in the word doc somewhere imbedded so it prints over the top of the actual text in the doc.

I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7.
If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure.
I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.

All of the sudden, when I want to copy and paste something in the same document, the formatted text (whether that be a certain font or bold) does not transfer over to the pasted text. For instance, if I wanted to copy the following bolded word word and then paste it anywhere else in the document, I now get this: word (without the bold). This applies to other cutting and pasting problems: this applies to other fonts and formatting (bold, my Greek font, etc).One more example: before today, if I wanted to cut a text out of my New Testament Greek program right in the middle of a paragraph, the Greek font (or whatever font) would paste normally no matter what font the target MS Word text was in.

I just got a brand new computer last night, but the monitor looks very washed out, and blurry. I have researched the matter, but have found no solutions, and I really don't want to have to take it back. I ran a display quality test, and it found two errors, but didn't explain how to fix them... I just installed Windows 7 Professional Version on my computer, it is a high-powered desktop with good specs. My graphics card is a 1GB HD Radeon 4850. I used to have Windows Vista 64bit and it displayed with a clear screen. However, after my upgrade, now the screen is all blurry and messed up. I downloaded ATI CCC and installed the new drivers and STILL, the computer screen is so blurry.
I was really looking forward to this upgrade to Windows 7, but I feel almost forced to revert to Vista because after looking at the screen for about 5 minutes, i get the worst headache ever and my eyes strain awfully.
I use 1920 x 1080 resolution and an HDMI cable, the recommended setting. If I go down to the lower resolution like 1720 x 1000 (not sure if thats exactly what it is) it is more clear, but I lose space and I feel it is still not as clear as it was on vista.

I can watch a video online, as in through a browser and it looks great. But when I play back a video locally from my hard drive it is all blurry and not sharp.I have VLC media player installed. Maybe this has messed with codecs or something?It plays crappy in both VLC and media player in windows 7.How can I get my videos look right again?

I recently purchased and Xbox and Halo Reach. I had it running on 50hz mode and the picture was nice, clean and crisp. When i tried to play Halo a message popped up saying it only supports 60hz mode. I changed it and the picture quality is so much worse, it looks quite blurry. Why is this and is there any way to make it look nice on 60hz? I'm using an LCD HD TV but running through the scart.

I read that certain amd/ati cards don't mesh well with wlmm? Is there a workaround on this? Just bought fraps and want to make videos but with the problems im having i may just have to buy a movie maker

I have a weird issue where my screen will get all light colored and just really crappy quality - blurry. I'm not sure if it is Windows, Nvidia, the HDMI cable, my monitor or what. I apologize if this is the wrong forum.
This usually happens coming out of full screen from Windows Media Center, but sometimes after a reboot.
I can turn off my tv (Sony Bravia - 52" LCD - KDL-52W4100) and turn it back on then the problem is fixed. Sometimes I can go full screen and back out again and that will fix it.
I have HDMI connection - Windows 7100 - I have the latst Nvidia drivers 186.. - I have tried a different HDMI cable also.
