Black Menu Bar In Full Screen
I have a strange problem with the Windows 7 themes. When I use F11 to make an explorer window (both ie and file explorer), the top menu bar (or maybe title bar) becomes black. This does not happen with Firefox or if I change the theme to Windows Classic or Windows 7 Basic. I've looked for help everywhere, but not been able to find any. This is really annoying! I'll attach a screen shot to visualize my problem. Has anybody else experienced this behavior?

Task Bar On Top, Start Menu Is Always Full Screen Height
I prefer my Task Bar across the top of the screen, rather than at the bottom. I also like it to autohide. This is my preference. This seems to work okay but for one thing. When I click the Start button the start menu expands to the full height of the screen, making the thing I'm most likely to want to click on ("All Programs") as far away from my mouse as is possible! I've been told by various fanboys not to crave the Classic start menu any more, as clearly I am a dinosaur for wanting that. Fair enough, I'm trying to use what's given to me by Windows 7. Is there a setting or trick that will allow my Start menu to be only as high as it needs to be? Even if it's only half the height of the screen that will be a relief. And don't say I should move my Task Bar to the bottom, that's not gonna happen.

Right Side Of Screen Is Cut Off (black Bar)
I installed Windows 7 and have a little problem with the screen. My monitor doesn't display the whole screen, it gets cut off on the right side. I tried to strech it horizontaly through the controls on my monitors, but it's not that, it's still cut off. Updated to latest video drivers (I have a 9800GT) and that's not it either, tried with diffrent resolutions, but whichever resolution I change to the right side is still cut off. The funny thing is when I make a screenshot (with print screen) and paste into paint the image is whole, it shows the part that I don't see on my monitor. Under this is a link to a screenshot of my desktop, I drawn a black line for ilustration so you can see which part is cut off, the right side of the line doesnt display on the pc. If someone has a solution for this please write. My monitor is Hyundai Q770 (CRT), and the GPU is Gygabite 9800GT.

Black Screen - No Start Bar - No Icons
First I have read someone comments about issues regarding missing Start Bar issue however this one seems to be a little more challenging. I have been using Window 7 RC for approximately 6 weeks and everything was working (generally speaking very good). However, yesterday upon power-up I log on as usually and after the login I have a black screen, period. No Start Bar, No desktop icons, No Sidebar, just a black screen. Mouse right click does nothing, Ctrl Alt and Delete brings up Task Manager and from there I can run all programs without problems. This issue occur both in the Admin Account and the Guest Account. I can open the sidebar and then see the Icons however on a re-start I'm back to the black screen same issues. I have done another install of Windows 7 RC yesterday and again the same issues occur. I have completely Virus checked and Malware checking the machine prior to yesterday's install and found nothing abnormal. Whereas I have two montiors I 've checked out whether it maybe defaulted to the 2nd - Not - Re installed the Windows Graphic Drivers as well. I also tried system Restore before I re-installed windows 7 same result with the black screen.

Video Games Black Screen That Crashes While In Full Screen
All the games I had when I used Windows Vista were playable. Now with Windows 7, whenever any of my games starts in full screen mode, my monitor turns black and does nothing else. The monitor still detects my computer because the monitor gave me no error of a missing input. I cannot alt+tab or Ctrl+Alt+Del or even WindowsLogo+Tab and I am forced to cut the power and restart. After long tiring research giving me such suspects like DirectX 11, disabling Aero, to the all popular lacking computer requirements to play the game I could play before I installed Windows 7. My conclusion was I could play games as long as there are not in full screen mode or in other words Windowed Mode. Why must I play all my games in Windowed Mode to play them on Windows 7? Is there a way to fix this problem? I have already tried to play a few games in compatibility mode and it does not change anything.

Taskbar Full Screen Thumbnail Preview Just Show Black Rectangle
when I mouse over over the taskbar, the full screen preview no longer shows the thumbnail. Instead, it shows a black rectangle :-(Besides this, everything is fine. Windows 7 is great. My hardware is a new desktop with MSI motherboard, Core2 Quad Q8200, 8 GB RAM and ATI graphic card. Everything, except the SM Bus, was recognized, and proper driver was installed. Windows Experience Index is 6.1 for graphic and 7 for others. The SM bus doesn't seem to be related, as the taskbar was showing proper preview earlier.

Remote Desktop Full Screen Mode Not Going Full Screen
Running Windows 7 RTM x64 on both my PC at home and my workstation at work.My PC at home has a square monitor and my work PC has a widescreen monitor.I used webapps (citrix) from home to get into work environment then remoted to my workstation.Since doing that, when I am physically at the workstation (at work), I can no longer remote desktop to servers in full screen mode. Instead, it does a smaller window with "full screen settings". Basically the full screen remote desktop is about 3/4 size of the monitor, not 100%.

Title Bar Positioned Off The Screen
When using multiple monitors, I often get problems with windows being positioned such that the title bar is off the top of the screen so you can't drag the window back in to play. I've used multiple monitors on many different PCs since 1999 and always had this problem - though it definitely seems to be exacerbated now by the fact that I hibernate the laptop when moving it between home and work, and my secondary monitors at home and work are different resolutions.

Boot Screen Reverted To Low Resolution Green Bar
I resized a couple of my partitions, so I had to rebuild my BCD. No problems there. However, when I log into Win 7 now, the animated high resolution boot screen reverted to the low res green bar with Microsoft Corp underneath. I am stumped as to how to reenable the high res boot screen. - first rebuilt the BCD entirely using the DVD: no joy - used bootrec /fixmbr and bootrec /fixboot from DVD: no effect - The NoGui flag in msconfig is not set (toggled it, when ticked there is no gui :P, unticking it again yielded the low res screen again)  Anyone here have more ideas on this?

Boot Screen Reverts To The Old Vista Style Green Bar
I, too am missing the WIndows 7 "Starting Windows" Orb boot screen. My system has reverted to the old vista style green bar. I have tried the bcdedit command multiple times, but to no avail. My Monitor is a 27" LCDHD connected using component cables. I've also tried DVI, but that didn't change anything. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can correct this?

Virtual PC In Full Screen Smaller Than Native Screen Resolut
I'm running Win7 RC coupled with the latest available copy of Virtual PC beta x64 and I have a odd problem with it. while it's great that Virtual PC finally supports screen resolutions greater that 1600x1200 there's a problem with screen resolutions. For whatever reason, whenever I go full screen with Virtual PC it sets the full screen resolution of the virtual pc two pixels smaller than the native resolution of my screens. Thus, if I go full screen on my main display the virtual pc resolution is enlarged to 1920x1198 while the displays native size is 1920x1200. I have two other screens hooked up, one with native 800x600 and one with 1024x768 and it's the same there, VPC sets the respective full screen resolutions to 800x598 and 1024x766. Why is it doing this? The effects of having two missing rows pixels is that if I had worked with a project inside a windowed VPC with a fixed resolution of f.ex. 1024x768 on my main screen I then drag that window over to the screen with the native 1024x168 resolution and try to make it full screen VPC refuses to go fullscreen and pops up the message displayed below and forces me to click on that before. I can resize the window to something smaller than the target screen before I can make it full screen. Highly annoying. Why can't it just go to whatever screen resolution the target screen has without nagging me about a few missing pixels?

Screen Dimming In Full Screen Videos
Alright so just recently my screen has been dimming when I stream videos(south park studios, youtube). I have my laptop screen set to dim after three minutes of being inactive, but i thought watching videos was an active process. After five minutes my laptop screen turns off, which is how I have it set for inactive use. I'm using an Hp dv7t laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit installed. Maybe this isn't a problem with windows, but a problem with the browser I am using? I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

Post Is Fine Then Black Screen After Windows Start Screen
After a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit everything is great until I shut it down. When I turn it back on the boot is normal until just after the startup screen then the Monitor goes black and into sleep mode while the PC seems to continue on. It doesn't do it all of the time. I have loaded all the latest drivers for Win 7 for all the hardware I have. I post mentioned the CRT Monitor had to be shut down for and hour then he could see the windows screen. He also said the LCD monitor was fine. So, is this the fix? a new Monitor? or is there some setting I can adjust to get past the black/sleep screen issue?

Black Screen After Coming Out Of Screen Saver
I have a lenovo X61 which I removed all partions of and installed W7U x64. downloaded the lenovo update utility and the combination of lenovo auto download and windows update installed all necessary drivers. Machine was working beautifully for at least 4 weeks. Then once I was working without the power plugged with over 50% of charge left. Went away for a while came back and the machine was I assume in blank screen saver mode. I moved the point tracker, typed some keys but the deep black screen would not go away. tried forcing to go into sleep by shutting the cover. that didn't work. Tried for force it into hibernation by pressing the power button once that didn't work. Hard reset it by pressing the power button until it went off.when rebooted it allowed me to login but Symantec NIS2010 gave me an error that it is was not activated although it was. I restarted the machine and this time it will not boot. Tried safe mode. No luck.I had to reinstall everything again 4 days ago.Yesterday again, I got the black screen when my laptop went into blank screen saver mode with no power connected to it.Hard reset was the only solution. This time I started up in Safe Mode then restarted and it is working fine. However, I do not want to risk going through the same issue again. We are configuring a volume mirror replication at work to recover faster if something happens again. But this is very troubling, time consuming and frustrating. any ideas what the issue might bet?

Full Screen Issue
I run Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro in VirtualBox and it will not go full screen. I used to use Parallels, but Windows 7 was like Molasses in the Arctic. So I switched to VB because my friend suggested it. Now it will not go full screen (for me, 1680x1050). I either get a box in the middle of my screen or I can't see the taskbar. Is there a way to force Windows to a certain resolution?
