When listening to music on my PC, it does not matter if I use Winamp, Songbird, Quicktime, Windows Media Player, or any other software. Every so often, there appears some sort of distortion, like the drive that the music is on slows down. I dont know if it is the driver or what. Its hard to explain. You have to hear it. I dont think its the mp3 file itself, cause I could play a song and it will be perfect, but then the next time I play it, it will distort. It is really driving my nuts cause I can't find the reason for it.

I am using a third party music player, MusicBee, to play my music, however if I select a folder in windows explorer of an artist that has more than one album in sub folders under the artist name then the "PLAY ALL" button does nothing.
If I select a folder without sub folders inside the PLAY button works fine and open MusicBee to play the music.
I also have VLC installed and if I right click on any music folder I get the Play with VLC option, how can I add this same option for MusicBee.

I mean if i don't use partition all data (Programs, user data, Images, video, Music, ...) on one partition.I don't realy like that especial for backing up Data and System at deferent times and also for accessing data from a second operating system on same PC.So I use a second partition for User-Data (Private data, schools data, ...)and a third partition mainly for Media Data Pictures, Music and Videos Most of Music and Video is on an External HD.But in the folder "C:usersNAME" there are many folders like ".APP-NAME"and also Desktop, Download, My Pictures, .... I don't really miss them on my "Data" partition as my Musik is not in "My Music"my videos is not in "My Videos". But much applications "use" this Folders for default saving point or loading point,

I've been using Windows 7 now since 6th of May, and love it! I haven't had any troubles except 2, but this topic is meant for only one.
I remembered an application called Everest, it lists all of your hardware and information about it, OS and stuff, really nice. It also has tab for sensors, where you can monitor temperature.
When i was looking around in Everest, I found out somehow 7gigs. of virtual memory is available, and most of the time somewhere around 2gig. is being used. That was kind of weird, because I have 4 gigs of RAM, and most of the time only 25% is used of it. So, why would Windows prefer use of the virtual memory over the use of physical memory? I found out virtual memory could be managed in "advanced system settings". because 2.5 gigs of virtual memory was used most of the time, I thought: why not just completely disable paging file.
So it's: computer --> right click properties --> advanced system settings --> advanced tab --> performance --> settings --> virtual memory --> change.
So finally comes the problem, I have successfully disabled the paging file, and it says "total paging size for all drives: 0 mb". But when I go to Everest, it still says I have 7 gigs of Virtual Memory available, and it uses 2 gigs. I want to make full use of my physical memory!

I'm new to this community and not the most computer savvy person, but I've been having this error for a while and it's starting to bug me. We recently got a new computer but as I start to use it, I'm noticing a lot of crashes and blue screen. Of the errors I've noted, the major one seems to be the "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" blue screen. I'm currently running Windows 7 64-bit and I have about 16G of memory installed.I did some preliminary research and many topics suggested either pulling sticks out (which I do not know how to do), posting minidump file (attached), and running a memory test (I just ran it for 12+ hours and it still did not finish, but I need to use my computer).

Tried seatools which shows the drive as healthy - it also shows up the three partitions on it. The drive is from an Acer laptop, the drive when using external USB caddy shows in computer managment but not in my computer. Ran some data recovery software which scanned each partition but it showing only the option to recover the files.
I have done so for safe keeping but what I wish to do is fix the drive so that it will boot up windows again on the laptop (windows 7). I have also tried DiskInternals PartitionRecovery which also took ages to scan the drive partitions and will allow to recover the files to another location. Which other software could I try to rescue the partitions on the drive. There are three in total on the drive with probably the following on them.
1. Acer Recovery
2. OS
3. Diagnostic Partition

After previously solving the BSOD error "a clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval" by replacing the CPU, I have run into another BSOD. This time the error is "memory management". After doing some research I'm thinking this error is about some program conflicts or something similar (I'm hoping that is the case!), instead of a hardware problem. I have attached the last 3 minidumps I have.

I bought an Acer 5742 with Windows 7 last month, and I have reason to believe I was attacked by a virus. Losing hope, I try using the 4 recovery disks GeekSquad gave me when I bought the computer. I choose the option to restore my computer to factory defaults while backing up my personal files. Everything goes smoothly up until the "updating system" part. According to the time-elapsed, it's been 10 hours since its been frozen on 99% (still on Disc 3 of the 4). I'm going to put in Disc 4 and leave it for another couple hours while I go to school. If I don't see any changes, I'm going to force a shut down and reboot the computer. Will this harm my computer, and possibly corrupt my system?

I am am running Windows 7 64, and my C drive was 150GB, and the other drive was 450GB. I decided to extend or expand it by deleting one of the volumes. However, I have come across a speed bump while doing this. After deleting my unused partition which was 450GB, and right clicked on the C drive to extend, but the extend option is greyed out. The shrink volume seems to be clickable though.

The only major change I made was a firmware upgrade to my Asus P8Z68-V Pro MB to the latest iteration: 3203 released Feb 21/12. Recently my website got hacked via ftp password breach but I ran a full system AV & Malware scan and results were clean.
Windows 7 64-bit (student upgrade version), approx 8 months old.
System: Intel i5 2500k cpu @ stock, 8800GT, 16GB G.Skill PC3-12800 ddr3 ram,

Mine is the B633 Since I bought it, it had had multiple errors, as shown in the attached .zip. I want to know what I need to do to fix these errors.I have ran memtest and let it do 10 passes with 0 errors. I am running driver verifier right now and have had 2 BSOD that I have never seen before, one was Special Pool...? Most of the time it is Memory Management BSOD, however.

my computer has been receiving random BSODs throughout the day, especially when I am browsing the web. The message is usually "memory management." This computer is around 3 months old. The first 1 1/2 month, it did not experience this problem. However, from July and onwards, my computer would get BSOD; it would occur at least once a day.
According to BlueScreenView, the driver that is causing BSOD is "ntoskrnl.exe."

I've just ran into what appears to be a bug with Disk Management under Windows 7. THe problem seems to go back all the way to OS reporting themselves as NT 5.2 or greater. XP x64 has the problem, Win2K3 server does and Windows 7 does. I don't have any version of Vista to check, so I don't know for sure but I'd bet its there as well. THe 32-bit version of XP which reports itself as NT 5.1 doesn't have the problem.
At any rate, the problem is Disk Management seems to count all Linux partitions as primary, even those which are logical volumes inside extended partitions on MBR drives. As such, if this erroneous count exceeds 4, it will refuse to create any more primary partitions, even though there are less than 4 actual partitions in the MBR table.
who dual boot with Linux could confirm this behavior. I've reported it on some of the MS forums, but no one seems to be interested.

I successfully increased the size of my partition (from 24,36GB to 34,18GB) and restored my image again.
Windows 7 is up and running again, though the amount of space left, is still identical as it was before increasing the partition.
Windows Computer management shows (graphically) the new size (now 34.18GB) where in the same screen, just above the graphical presentation, the old partition size is shown (24,36GB). The latter is also show if I use explorer.

Apologies if this has been covered, I have tried looking but can't find any previous mention, although having used this excellent forum for a few months this is my first posting, so sorry if I am not doing this correctly !
I have carried out a clean install of Win 7 Home Rremium (retail full version) on a new hard drive. The problem that I have noticed is that when you are in Computer Management, you can view everything OK apart from Disk Management when you view this it works OK but when you then try to view any other menu (Event Viewer, Device Manager etc.),
the text on the screen flashes like it was refreshing, however it continues to do so until you exit. If you then go back in again and select anything other than Disk Management it works OK until you select Disk Management (which works OK), but on selecting another menu, the screen starts flashing again.
This only happens when you go from Disk Management to something else.
I have reinstalled my old Vista hard drive and everything works OK, so I dont think that it is a hardware issue, but something with Windows 7.

I have a problem with color management :
I'm an amateur photographer, I have made an ICC color profile for my screen under windows xp (using a friend's probe and software) the profile works perfectly under xp
I have loaded it under seven following all the steps found here
Color management settings: frequently asked questions - Windows Vista Help
at the "How do I change the default color settings for a specific device for all users on the computer?" section
The monitor is properly installed, the profile is set as default for my monitor, but I can see no change in color rendering... as if the icc profile is not active
Any pointers ?
