Hey, I've recently reinstalled my Windows 7 Home Premium and I since my PC does not detect the router.I've tried using a SKY recovery disk, but that failed and nothing happened. Do I need to download a specific driver so the PC can detect the router?

I have a Lenovo, Windows 7 Home premium 32bit. McAfee controlling my firewall. Unable to connect to internet. Connects to my wireless network. Timewarner has given up since my other HP xp computer works. Router has problems but works OK with my HP and vonage devices.
The router is D-Link WBR-1510. finding if this router is compatible to Win 7?
How do I "blow out the NIC"? How do I identify devices from drivers to uninstall?
I had an existing pc with windows xp home. I just purchased a new pc with windows 7 home. Why I connected the windows 7 pc to the internet using dlink router I was able to access the internet. On the next day though, when I tried to connect again, I was not able to access the internet. Here are the tasks that I have already carried out to check the connectivity.
1. The windows 7 computer has a valid IP address, which means that ARP is working fine and my router is dispensing the addresses correctly.
2. When I try to ping the modem-router, there is no reply. So I am not able to access router using ICMP.
3. My old windows xp pc is able to connect and browse the internet. The problem is only with my new windows 7 pc.
After I installed my Belkin N150 wireless router, my desktop computer crashed. Windows 7 will not boot up.Anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it?
I have a strange problem I can't get to the bottom of. I have replaced my father's wired modem (he's with PostOffice.com in the UK) with a Belkin Surf+ (F7D2301uk) router running firmware version 1.00.16. When he tries to access the network from his Tosh C660 Win 7 Home Premium, 64bit laptop the network connection between the laptop & router disconnects after a minute or so. The only way to reestablish a connection is to Disconnect and Connect again in the Wireless Network section of Networking panel. But here's the weird bit. My own Mac Book keeps connected fine without any problems as does my Sony Ericsson X10 phone.
My new Belkin Wireless G router crashes ALWAYS if I try to connect from my Windows 7 Laptop to my Windows XP (home edition) desktop.I try to connect wireless from my Laptop (Windows 7) to my shared printer and shared folders on my wired Windows XP desktop. While entering \192.168.2.3 in my IExplorer of the Windows 7 Laptop: (IP address of XP desktop) immidiately crashes the router and disconnects both computers from the internet. Only solution is to reboot the router.Have tested this various time, but always the same result. Both computers have the same WORKGROUP name.
Just bought this belkin router. Linked one computer through LAN and 4 devices through WIFI or some reason my WIFI devices are not able to read or detect connections to the LAN network
I own a Belkin Wireless G Modem/Router. I connect my computer to it via Realtek RTL8139/810x wired network adapter.
Just a moment ago, my computer could not connect to the Internet. When I ran the troubleshooting tool, it suggested to "Make sure the other end of the cable is plugged into the router. If that does not help, try a new cable."
I checked the LED light on the network card, and it appears to be solid red. I'm not too sure about its usual colour when it was working fine. The modem's LED shows that it detected a connection from the cable. I tried to replace the cable with another one, but it the light is still red and the modem still shows that it detects a connection from the cable, but my windows is not able to connect to the modem. It failed to detect any connection.
I am currently using a D-link wireless USB adapter to connect to the modem.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Is there a problem with my settings or is the network card damaged?
just having troubles connecting too Internet i am currently using a BELKIN N wireless USB adaptor f5d8053 version 3 on my windows 7 computer and just wondering if some 1 could point me in the right direction .
I have never been able to connect to Facebook since obtaining this new computer. It will either give the Internet Explorere page that says "Internet Explorer cannot display the page" or it will go to BING with Facebook as a search result option.
I have tried deleting cookies, deleting Security Essentials annd adjusting pop-ups and other security settings - nothing seems to work I have also tried it with Google Chrome - does not work - goes to BING page. This computer in on a wireless network - Netopia router, Netgear USB wireless adapter, Bellsouth business FastAccess service.
trying to promote business through Facebook and Twitter (Can't get to Twitter either!)
Here is the system info: Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.1 OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium , Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Since I upgraded my OS from XP to Windows 7, I could not connect to certain websites (eg. www.blogger.com) and some websites takes a long time to load (eg. Sign In). It's not my connection problem cause I tried the website on my other PC and it worked but not this one.I also couldn't upload photos to facebook, twitter and other sites. I have tried opendns but no luck. I've also unchecked all on the 'Advanced JavaScript Settings' in Firefox. Also Windows Update keeps showing error '80072EE2' even after I have fixed it.
I can access most websites from my laptop except for a handful, as stated in the title. I can access them from other computers on my network. Java + You Adobe Centrelink - assists people to become self-sufficient and supports those in need police.sa, Geekzone: technology news, blogs, forums. These are a few of the sites I cannot access. I am also unable to access any websites that are offshoots of these i.e. Adobe - Downloads or Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions
I have tried to ping these and when I do I get this message: Pinging [website] [IP address] with 32 bytes of data: General Failure. General Failure. General Failure. General Failure.
Ping statistics for [IP address]: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% Loss)
The laptop is connected wirelessly to a D-Link DIR600 Wireless 150 Router, which is then connected via ethernet cable to a DSL-504T modem/router. I am running Avast Antivirus and am currently using Google Chrome as my browser. I have tried opening the websites in Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer (32x and 64x) to no avail.
I have a Win7 64 bit build that I've ran into connectivity problems with. I can get on some websites, cannot get onto others. Can get to the home page on some, but no further such as here, I can get to the main forum page, but then I cannot get into threads. Some sites, such as newegg, can't even get onto them. So far I've tried different browsers, including downgrading from FF4 to a FF3 version. IE8, Chrome, same issues. I have reason to believe that it's within the PC itself, whether it's software or hardware. I'm on my netbook right now running FF4 and don't have the same problems. I've even shut off the firewall and there is no other firewall or anti-virus on the PC.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate and I also have IE 9. I go to news websites and I am unble to view the video feeds from their websites. Is this possibly an intenet option setting that I need to adjust?
I have been downloading pictures to Facebook, Walgreens, and Shutterfly for 3 years with no problems. All of a sudden I can not upload any pictures! I had no difficulties downloading them from my memory card to my computer and I can view them just fine. When I go to upload them it will let me select the pictures I want and start the process, but then just keep "loading" or "thinking" for hours if I would let it. It will not upload even one photo.
I am unable to find a single resolution that will provide a good display on all websites. As a result I am adjusting it when moving from one site to another. Not difficult to do, but if I could rid myself of this chore, it would be great. Problems are wrong screen size and garbled text.WIN 7 premium, 64 bit, using 32 bit IE9 due to the lack of a flash player that will work on 64 bit IE9.
My netbook shows signals from others in the area but shows a red X next to my router connection. I can't seem to get connected to my own wireless router
Can anyone advise how I would go about fixing this. I am trying to connect to a network (I have a dell running on windows 7) and it keeps telling me that windows is unable to connect to the network-this is before I can even enter the security key. I know it is not a problem with the wireless because other people are able to connect to it fine.
I have CANYON 11g AP Router which is conencted to this PC and a Windows 7 PC (my workstation). Last night the providers connection dropped so after finishing my work I didn't stand around to check if the internet will be back and closed it. This morning my girlfriend tried to unplug something and accidentally unplugged the router. Ever since that happened, this PC, running XP has no internet connection issues. Unfortunately, the Windows 7 PC cannot connect to the Internet. I tried disabling and enabling, it ahs a clear connection towards "Multiple networks", but from there to the "Internet" it does not connect. I also tried a diagnostics and a firewall deactivation but still no luck. My Netwpork meter gadgetr shows my Int. IP as 192.168.1.2 and my Ext. IP as NO CONNECTION.When I try to connect to the internet it appears that Mozilla finds the website but cannot conenct to it. At least that's what I think, since it is stuck on "Connecting" and not on "Looking up". Ipconfig does not work, it only shows the window for a brief second, then auto closes.
So everything was fine until today when I woke up. My internet wouldn't work, it was saying that I was connected with internet access but never gave me it. I checked my router settings and it shows all the correct things.
So then, I decided to check my brother's computer which is in the same room and he couldn't connect either. I turned my computer off and somehow, my brother's computer had internet access and could access the internet.
Posting from my brother's PC now. I have attempted everything, restarted the power to everything about 5 times. Our internet has always worked and has until today.
Can't connect my Xbox to my router.I've just brought a new router. It is a Tenda W311R Wireless N Cable DSL Broadband Router. But I can't connect it to my Xbox 360 S.I've managed to add my PC, Laptop, and PS3 to my home network without any difficulty however.I've encrypted my home network with WPA2 as recommended by Microsoft. These are the steps I took when trying to add my xbox 360 S console to my home network:
1. On the console I went to My Xbox 2. Then System Settings. 3. Network Settings 4. Scan for Networks 4. My router was listed so I selected it 5. I then entered my WPA2 wireless password 6. Then I selected Test Xbox Live Connection.
The console then said it couldn't connect to my wireless network. I was thinking that the Xbox 360 S console's built-in Wi-Fi uses the 2.4 gigahertz frequency band. Maybe my router is broadcasting using another frequency... But I have yet to check what that frequency is.
I just bought a brand new Dell Inspiron 15r.. (was using an HP mini before Dell, had same issue) It has Windows 7..The router is a Belkin G Model F5F7234-4... Co worker can connect, this router used to be in his home so he configured it then and just brought it to work and didnt have to do anything but plug and play.. then i came along and couldnt connect..Im currently using the internet on my Dell connected by my EVO with PDANET..When i came in with my Dell i automatically tried connecting with out any set up, usually works perfect anywhere i go.. but keeps showing unidentified network and showing it as a public access... iv googled and read everything from disable mcafee and try connecting with the ethernet cable... before i had a cable i tried running belkin setup assistant cd and it would say no connection to router.. i finally got ahold of an extra cable today and tried that in to set it up with the cd while wired, at first it showed on the laptop it was wired and i put in the belkin setup assistant cd and it would just keep looking for the router,(now just showed wired on router but not on computer) then tried manual set up where IE popped up with http://192.168.2.1/ in the address bar, but wouldnt connect.. tried to diagnose everything every time.. it keeps saying can not connect via net work adapter or LAN does not have valid ip address... iv reset and or disabled then enabled everything.. i have all passwords and pins to the router.. i would keep using my pdanet but trial is up and its gonna cut off on me soon like last week, it keeps messing with me.. but why pay for it or use it when i have a perfectly good network to connect to at work!
I recently built my own gaming pc, spec'd as follows:
Asus Rampage IV Formula Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit I73930k GTX 680 120gb ssd etc.
I have installed Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit with no real problems. Except the internet connection! I have Sky Broadband which has a Sky router. I can connect my laptop wirelessly so i know it works ok. The only way my 'new' desktop will connect to the Sky router is by using an Ethernet cable. It simply cannot connect to it wirelessly.
I work in a small office and use a laptop with Windows 7. We use the same router and have wired internet. His computer is connected to a "Network 4" while mine is connected to the private wireless internet system we've set up. He can't connect to any other connections on his computer while all the other connections around our office is visible on my laptop.
