I would get a random black screen while playing an online game on my laptop (this happens randomly but usually 15-30mins after starting Windows and start playing the game). After the black screen appeared, it would automatically reboot to this windows error recovery page with options to go into safe mode (networking/command prompt) or just boot windows normally.I chose to boot Windows normally but after getting into Windows 7 and started playing a while, a random BSOD would appear. It has happened for 2-3 days straight. The attached is the mini dump.
Note: I did not install anything new to my laptop, I have ran chkdsk and sfc /scannow and found nothing.I have no idea what caused the black screen and the BSOD.
i have a system which i got 1 month ago and it was stable and good till recently i started getting BSOD at random times , i tried to update my bios as most were saying but i couldnt because whenever i click on bios update utilite i get black screen! with no respond (i tried the updating from bios not windows Asus dont offer bios update from inside windows ) however . i noticed i get this bluescreen often when playing shogun 2 but in general i still get BSOD when doing other stuff at random times (ex: other games/work on office package) also sometimes when i play other games i either get BSOD or a sudden system lag where everything stops with a noisy sound coming from my speaker.
btw : in my BSOD i get the famous physical memory dump 100% line at the bottom
and i also updated my graphics drivers and rolled back to the old stable one but with no use

I haven't downloaded any toolbars, and although this is my wife's computer and she has gotten a couple viruses from visiting hacked blog sites recently ZA Pro caught those immediately so I don't think it's related to this.
Something is wrong with my Sony Vaio FW series laptop.. I get major FPS spikes in any game I attempt to run (Dragon Nest, Audition), with FPS dipping down to ~10 every five seconds. When I check Task Manager, it's the games that are taking up the most CPU with overall CPU usage at 90%+. This is really strange and abnormal as I had never had any problems with those games taking up CPU and fps spiking until today (they ran fine yesterday).Between yesterday and today.. I used compressed air to clean my laptop's fan, and I visited some movie watching sites (which resulted in some popups appearing). I'm unsure if the problem can be attributed to a virus, but I ran a full scan of Malwarebytes and did a deep clean on Advanced System Care, none of which helped fix the problem. Firefox, Skype, and other applications appear to run as quickly and smoothly as they did before. However, I've gotten three BSODs in the last 30 minutes, and my laptop appears to be overheating: Here is my Hijack This Log : xks.
EDIT: I understand that a system restore will likely solve all problems, but I want to save that as a last resort.
EDIT1: I think the BSODs were a result of me running CPUID HWMonitor to check for the temperatures - each BSOD occurred right after or soon after I ran it. I'm unsure why running that specific program triggers a BSOD, but if I leave it alone my computer appears to be fine (no BSODs so far after I stopped running it).
Everything on my computer was fine this morning when I left for week, but upon my return I noticed that my keyboard/mouse wasn't working. I restarted my computer and confirmed that my keyboard works in the bios and whatnot, but when I get to the windows login screen, I get no response from the keyboard or mouse.the mouse is a simple USB one, and I'm using a PS/2 keyboard, so I doubt it's some sort of sudden driver issue.I tried logging into safemode, and I get the same result, can't move my mouse or use my keyboard.Does anyone have any idea how to possibly fix this issue? I'm unable to restore from an earlier state either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI restarted my computer a little while ago and check disk wanted to run. I was out of the room when it happened to I didn't get to hit a key to cancel it. But after it got done and restarted again, I got the BSOD during startup.
Then I tried to start in safe mode and that also gave me the BSOD. I then put in my Windows 7 DVD under the assumption that I may be able to repair it, but when it finished loading Windows Files, I got the BSOD again.
The thing is though, that it was working fine before it ran Check Disk. I was working with Visual Studio 2008, then restarted and it decided that it would start going crazy with BSOD.
Anyone had this happen or know how I could fix the problem an boot back into Windows?
a couple of month ago, my computer had a sudden drop in GPU memory, I've looked around on the web for possible reasons but I've come up with nothing. Before this sudden drop I had about 2800MB's of GPU memory, but now it's down to 727MB's.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWell, the above pretty much sums up my problem. Booted into Windows like any normal day and I was greeted with the following message on a black screen "This copy of Windows 7 is not genuine".I had an option to either go online and resolve it or an ask me later tab. I obviously clicked the former and it took me to Microsoft's validation page where it said "Validating Windows this should only take a few minutes".The result? A page where it advises which version of Windows is best for me and buy options.I know my copy is genuine and it hasn't done this before so this is new for me. I have run a virus scan and malware scan so I don't think it's virus/malware at play. Not edited the registry in any way and have done a few restarts to see if was just a glitch or the system playing silly buggers. Nope, still says it on every reboot. I now have this in the bottom right hand corner of my desktop: "Windows 7 build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine".I'm pretty stumped. Can I not just go to somewhere and put in the product key that is attached to my tower and re validate it?I have included the MGDiag tool report. Hope you can help me out. Cheers.

I have tried my phones hotspot, other USB's and WiFi's to none of them working. It would start up and work for about 15 seconds, and then internet access would just cut out completely. I have AVG Internet Security 2012 installed and I have tried disabling the firewall (Windows firewall also) and yet it still doesn't work.

My sound mixer was working fine, then all of a sudden one day it stopped working. I have no idea why. i dont know if its a software issue or hardware issue. the mic is disabled and the sound mixer is enabled, i disabled it and reenabled it and it still didnt work, i went into the properties and everything is where it should be (volume, ect) i checked the actual mixer down by the clock and that sound was fine on everything to! the speakers are working video is working so i dont think its any of my cards and i hear the audio fine, theres nothing wrong otherwise. i feel like maybe its muted somewhere bc when i tried the mic that didnt work either.but i looked in every possible spot i even tried to update the drivers but nothing needed updating.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am not playing a game my computer runs fine for hours this Critical Error only occurs when I'm running a game usually after few minutes. Most solutions suggested reinstalling audio driver/making sure there is only one. Well I only have one, it's up to date with one audio device running and was reinstalled a couple of days ago. I'm not yet sure if it occurs in every game which I am checking now so far I've experienced shutdown while playing Just Cause 2 and Metro 2033. Critical error is always the same and always a shutdown even though Restart On System Failure is unchecked. [code]
Also attached is my dxdiag.I've ran RAM diagnostic and it found no faults after 13~ thorough checks. I will try reinstalling audio driver again as well as check whether all of my games trigger this error. I did run the System file checker from CMD cannot quite remember the command now and it showed returned no faults. So far only Metro 2033 and Just Cause 2 have caused this error.Just noticed I have missed a latest video card driver. Will attempt to try again after updating that.
For the past days my computer have had sudden freezes or bluescreens for no reason. I can't think of any updates or installments i have done recently that have affected this.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a HP G series notebook and as of last Thursday I started getting insane amounts of slowdown. Even in the lock screen where I type my password in has lag. After a day of this I shut off my computer for several hours and performed a full virus scan with Malware Bytes and nothing was found. Soon after that my Laptop started to crash. I Re-booted several times and the problem persists. Ill log in (slowly) and access any program but within 5-10 minutes the PC will lock up. I truly have zero idea how this happened. I haven't installed, downloaded or added any sort of software program or files recently. I haven't dropped, wet or damage my laptop recently either. The last thing I did before all this happened was I synced my Xbox 360 to my Windows Media Center and Windows Media Player so I could listen to music while I play. After all the craziness started happening I deleted all my music from the media center and turned off the syncing function but the problems escalated from there.

When I reboot, the "repair mode" does not work and I have to use the "normal" mode. I also used the "safe mode" with no issue and when tries to use the "windows repair mode", it does not start.

I decided to change my background tonight and it just isn't working. I have tried right-clicking on pictures>set picture as desktop background> but this is not working anymore.
Right clicking on my desktop and clicking Personalize> Change theme and then setting it from there is not working either. The only thing that does work is setting a solid colour as a background (not too inspiring).
I have an HP Pavillion P6000 with Windows 7 Home Edition and I use Webroot Spy Sweeper weekly. I've never had any problems and suddenly last week while trying to get on IE, my home page would act like it was loading but it was just a white screen that disappeared about 10 seconds later. I tried rebooting and couldn't get windows to load after that. I tried "Repair My Computer" which told me no problems were found. Rebooted and couldn't get windows to load again. Found your website and used the F8 key, tried "Startup Repair", didn't help. Tried "Stsyem Restore" and while windows was able to come up, still couldn't use IE ans still can't open any programs. Now it's doing the same thing with windows not loading and it won't let me try to restore again. I get this message, "An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x800700b7). I tried using a different restore point also. I don't know much about computers
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy laptop has recently started booting up and shuting down pretty slow, it takes about 3 mins to start up, and shutdown, but when it boots up, it runs perfectly. I run mcafee virus scan everyday, defrag and clean my disk everyday.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am getting a playbackmessage on my HTPC in WMC saying:
"Video playback is not currently allowed. This is often due to incorrect drivers for your graphics card, because the card has less than 64MB of memory or because the card id not DirectX 9 compatible."
I am using a Saphire Radeon HG6750. Which should be more than fine. And the onboard card on my Motherboard should also be fine.
Everything was working fine. I have been fiddling with my display options as I have my HTPC feeding three 1080p TVs via a Gefen HDMI switch. Finally got it so that all three TVs are displaying at 1080p and then my playback errors start.
[As a side note, I have been noticing that when I remote in via a laptop that I get AMD error messages. I think this is regarding my onboard card. When you remote in, the HG6750 does not show up in the Tray. It defaults to the onboard card]
How to I check to see:
1) What graphic card is acutally running?
2) Whether there are problems with the drivers
