I am running Windows7 64 bit for two years now. Since three months ago, I get a sudden windows shut down time to time and frequency increased this week, three times so far. I have not installed any new hardware or software.
When I reboot, the "repair mode" does not work and I have to use the "normal" mode. I also used the "safe mode" with no issue and when tries to use the "windows repair mode", it does not start.
Tonight, I also had a Blue Screen and when used "safe Mode" the following came up:

I restarted my computer a little while ago and check disk wanted to run. I was out of the room when it happened to I didn't get to hit a key to cancel it. But after it got done and restarted again, I got the BSOD during startup.
Then I tried to start in safe mode and that also gave me the BSOD. I then put in my Windows 7 DVD under the assumption that I may be able to repair it, but when it finished loading Windows Files, I got the BSOD again.
The thing is though, that it was working fine before it ran Check Disk. I was working with Visual Studio 2008, then restarted and it decided that it would start going crazy with BSOD.
Anyone had this happen or know how I could fix the problem an boot back into Windows?
I left my computer on overnight, and when I just returned to it I discovered that it had shut down, and when I started it up, I was informed that Windows had just recovered from an unexpected shut down. Though I guess I should mention that the other night, even though I was not doing anything on my computer, a fan was working really hard (loudly), so I just shut it the PC down. I'm thinking it could be overheating, but it is currently quite cold where I am, so it doesn't really make much sense. Here's the details of the error

Alright so a couple months ago my computer crashed and I was told it was a hard drive problem. So I got a new hard drive and installed it myself reinstalling windows and everything else. After a bout a week my computer would randomly shut off the screens image would become jumbled with dark lines running horizontally across and then it would either shut off or give me the BSOD. The BSOD flashes fast so I can't write down any information from it. This has happened repeatedly for about 3 months since every couple days. Usually I leave my laptop alone for about 15 min and then I can start it up again. The problem seems to happen mostly when i watch videos or go on sites with a lot of media going on. I think I've installed all the drivers i need to. I'm hoping it is not a hardware problem because i just bought this hard drive. I never had this problem before when i had the old hard drive. If any one could give me some help that would be awesome. I also ran check disk and it came up with nothing. My laptop is an HP G72 Notebook running windows 7. Hard drive is a western digital 250 gb.
I have had my HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC (with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1) for less than a year and I am encountering a ton of problems.Whenever I go to open a program, it unresponds for a short while before I can continue to use it.Sometimes my keyboard acts up, for e.g. if I were to press T whilst in an internet browser, it would open a new tab, as if I was pressing the CTRL button when I'm not.Sometimes my laptop shuts down - sometimes there is a blue screen error message before, other times it just shuts down without one.I have Trend Micro Tiatanium anti-virus protection and have done scans and nothing has showed up.
I got a new computer on Thursday from , it seemed to work fine until yesterday (Monday) when I got a blue screen of death and something saying "Windows has been shut down to protect your memory" however I was unable to read the message as the computer just restarted. 1 hour and 4 blue screens later I some how found that the blue screen only seemed to occur when the program "Steam" was open. Later that night I ran a "Who's crashed check" this is what it returned:
On Mon 03/09/2012 22:13:32 GMT your computer crashed crash dump file: C:WindowsMinidump90312-21840-01.dmp This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x7F1C0) Bugcheck code: 0x1A (0x41790, 0xFFFFFA80008322F0, 0xFFFF, 0x0) Error: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
when ever I shut down my PC I get a navy blue window having nothing in it but having a caption and two buttons "FORCE SHUTDOWN" and "CANCEL" and it just blinks for a second and then disappears and the PC shuts down. What is this message? How to turn off this message, is this a virus or worm??[/quotemsg]
I have just bought entirely new system about 4 months go or so, this has been a self build. The issues first had was whenever i select to shut down windows it starts shutting down and as it gets to the point where it actually is supposed to turn off it suddenly blue screens and then goes into a restarting boot! this is hugely frustrating as when i select shut down i want it to shut down not blue screen and restart. I formatted my machine about a month ago as the issue was getting extremely repetitive, once formatted everything worked great until just the other day it started again it is not as frequent as it used to be, it only happens once every 2 weeks or so. I know its not viruses as i run KIS and malwarebytes and regularly scan the system for any issues, i dont think its hardware because the system is new and i have used the best parts, also i dont think it is frequent enough to be hardware.
I will be using my laptop in a variety of settings (Word, FB, IE browsing etc.) when suddenly the font will change size and become very small or the screen will become quite large and my scroll bars will completely disappear. I use the mouse pad and do not use a mouse. Is there a setting to change or am I doing something specific.
For the past few days my Laptop has been very slow to load up once I have logged in. Bootup seems to be fine until the user selection page. I then select my user ID and then log in. Once I hit the submit button the screen goes white and it takes a while to load up the desktopThe mouse is visible, but nothing responds. The Windows Key doesn't bring up the Start Menu or anything.CTRL+SHIFT+ESC brings up Task Manager which shows nothing untowards. On boot-up there is no peripherals installed on the laptop, just the Power Lead and WiFi is Active.I have updates on Automatic and Windows 7 is Genuine Home Premium. Here are the PC Specs
this extremely annoying problem started the other day after i ran an energy report, which btw was the first thing i had done on the computer that day. so the energy report may or may not have something to do with it.
the problem could be referred to as several things really, jittering,
flickering, flashing, even kind of a bounce maybe....its just real quick, a split second at a time. depending on what im doing, it can be as often as every 3 to 5 seconds, or just intermittently.
heres a list of when the problem occurs.
1. watching vidoes online. hulu.com so far is the worst. picture flickers every 3 to 5 seconds. Internet much better, just every so often. watched one full show on nbs.com. didn't flicker once....!!?
2. flickers in game loading screens but not in game. thank god!
3. also when i launch an app or maybe a video offline it'll flicker once as it launches.
here's when it dosent occur.
1. in games. (outside of the loading screen of course)
2. outside of watching video online there is no problem as far as browsing etc.
3. no flickering on the desktop, or when navigating though windows.
to fix the problem ive tried windows restore, and reinstalling my video card drivers. neither fixed my problem. outside of doing a reformat i dont know what else to do.

I would get a random black screen while playing an online game on my laptop (this happens randomly but usually 15-30mins after starting Windows and start playing the game). After the black screen appeared, it would automatically reboot to this windows error recovery page with options to go into safe mode (networking/command prompt) or just boot windows normally.I chose to boot Windows normally but after getting into Windows 7 and started playing a while, a random BSOD would appear. It has happened for 2-3 days straight. The attached is the mini dump.
Note: I did not install anything new to my laptop, I have ran chkdsk and sfc /scannow and found nothing.I have no idea what caused the black screen and the BSOD.
I have problems entering windows after the first installation of Windows 7 64 bit built 7000.After seconds the welcome (splash) screen appears, the windows suddenly reboot automaticaly. After that, black screen appears with dashes blinking.(Actually, my current OS is Windows 7 32 bit built 7600, but I think it isn't cause of the problems. I have formatted the local drive, in which my current OS was installed, before I install Win 7 64 bit).
one day it suddenly crashed while i was watching a movie. it displayed random patterns on screen. kinda like part of the image from the video is on the screen then a black strip and random colors. I restarted the unit to safe mode and left it on and browsed the net and downloaded some big files for how many hours and nothing happened.. there are also times when windows is still loading with the windows logo on screen, it crashes. there are also times when the login screen is displayed and it crashes. it just crashes randomly! so i tried to reformat it. i deleted the partitions and created a new one, formatted it then fresh installed windows 7 ( my previous OS is windows 7 by the way) and started installing the basic drivers and after a few hours, it crashed again...thinking that the driver installed might not be compatible, i tried another fresh install of windows (same execution, delete partition, create, install OS) and this time, without installing the drivers, it crashed again after a few hours... sometimes it crashes immediately after turning it on from cold start!
Blue screen and freezing. This is happening frequently but never has any regularity to it. Sometimes happens after a couple of days and sometimes after a couple of minutes. Also sometimes with only one browser window open and sometimes with 15 or more. Happens with both chrome and firefox. Has not happened with other programs as this lapy only gets used for surfing/email/forums etc. Sometimes happens while the computer is sitting idle right after boot. Very strange.
I can't seem to shut down properly. It hangs on the shutting down screen and freezes (wheel stops spinning) I haven't managed to many BSODs but I have managed to get one, I've attached it. Any idea what the problem might be? I've tried restoring from previous restore point which then hung but windows said the restore was successfull
1) As I'm on a laptop, my power settings are set to balanced. The system turns off the screen after 10 minutes of inactivity (the default setting). When I touch the pad to turn the screen back on, Windows freezes. I'll have to do ALT CTRL Delete to bring up the log-out menu and sign back in again. After I sign back in, Windows work normally. The only way around this I found is to manually change the power settings to prevent the screen from turning off altogether. Is this a known issue?
2) When I put my system to sleep, I find that it will turn on by itself and then shut itself off again. I think this may be related to automatic update at a given time. It happens at night. The system would just turn on and after 20 seconds or so shut itself down.
Turns out all my problems were an aged battery, according to the tech shop who reinstalled windows after some deeprooted viruses. But now my laptop won't shut down all the way, but the screen turns off. The keyboard's LEDs stay on, and the fan keeps blowing. It stayed that way for at least five minutes, between me getting a snack and coming back. I don't know if they reinstalled from the disc that shipped with the laptop or gave me a knew windows 7, but this particular issue only started when they reinstalled the OS.
I had wondows 7 ultimate running on my internet machine for 2 weeks. Almosi every day 3 or 4 times a day i would get a completely blank dislplay and then the machine would shut down. There were no critical errors that i could find.So i installed Ubuntu 12.04 on the same machine with no changes at all. Ubuntu 12.04 is very resource intensive. After 48 hours of running not one crash , blank screen, or any other major problem.I had the same windows 7 problem on my self built and the dell gx280 i had it installed on. Same problem completely different machines.I do not think i will be going back to windows , as the experience stated above explains windows 7 is still in need of a lot of development work. When i ran win95 second edition was the last time i have experiences with windows like i have had with windows 7.
my laptop shut off then rebooted to a blank screen with invalid partition table at the top.It will go to start up screen, and get to bios but other than that nothing.
I work on my Gateway while sitting on the couch. I surf the Internet and then watch TV. I surf a little more, and then I watch more TV. Some nights, when I slide the computer near me because I've shifted in my seat, the screen will go black and I have to push the On/Off switch until the computer shuts down. The computer, when the screen goes black, is still on, but no fingerpad strokes or combination of key stokes will turn the screen back on. Super frustrated about having to turn the computer off "the wrong way" a couple of nights a week.
I'm getting a message when shutting down Windows 7 that only appeares on screen for a second before windows shuts down. I had this problem with another version of windows, but I can't remember what I did to fix it.I also have to use the F10 key at startup to boot to the HDD with the OS on it. Can anyone tell me how to slow the screen down or pause it so I can read the messageThere may also be a problem in the registry that will not let the OS find and read from the HDD. I'm getting a read error, but can't remember the exact wordingy OS is on an SSD so all I have to do is hit Enter to startup.
I was using my Dell laptop today. All of a sudden the OS just shut everything down quickly and shut down. There was no error or anything like that. It just shut down.
Upon booting, I was given a screen to enter the bitlocker recovery key. I tracked it down and entered it into the laptop. The laptop then tried to boot, but blue screened. In typical MS fashion, the blue screen showed for about 1/352352th of a second so I couldn't get any real information about the error.
I tried the boot system recover option that the os presented. I tried the option to recover from the last recovery point or to recover the other way. Each time the system booted back to the same problem.

I'm assuming it's a BIOS driver problem, but i'll leave it up to you guys to tell me, you're the experts :P I also tried doing a system restore, but for whatever reason when I try it just says the restore is initializing and it sits on that screen and never does anything. I've left it for about an hour before and still nothing, not real sure what the problem is there either. Right now I'm running the laptop off safe mode with networking and it's working fine, hopefully it's just a driver problem I can fix.
I'm on Windows 7 32bit and let me know if you need any more information.
i have a windows 7x64.Yesterday while watching videos my screen started jumping and crashed to a blue screen with(QPR is not less or equal i think) and after that i restarted and it came with other errors. Now when i switch on the laptop it only shows black screen with no option to do anything.
