My laptop originally came with Vista 64 but a few months ago I installed Windows 7 32 bit (64 would not run for some reason). Since then I've been getting a BSOD pretty consistently when torrenting, or randomly when using either Chrome or IE--Firefox seems to work fine. I suspect the problem might stem from bad/outdated network drivers, how to interpret the dump file?

View 3 Replies View RelatedDid a fresh install of Windows 7 Professional and made sure all the Microsoft Updates were installed. But every now and then the laptop shows the BSOD and restarts itself. It seems to happen randomly. I've uploaded the most recent dmp file in hopes that someone can help me figure out what is causing the BSOD. The laptop is a Gateway W350A if it matters any.
So I used Whocrashed to look at the dmp file myself and found that it was the Realtek wireless lan driver causing the BSOD. I went to find an update from the Realtek website which I installed. Now the card won't recognize any hotspots at all. Windows diagnosed the problem as the wireless on the laptop being turned off. I triple checked that the wireless was on, disabled and re-enabled the card and the results were the same. S the latest version of the driver makes the laptop think the wireless is off and the previous version works but causes the BSOD.The version of the driver causing the BSOD is Realtek RTL8187SE 6.1020.226.2009 The most recent version that causes the wireless card to not recognize hotspots is 9109.1028.2009?
I had posted another forum post on the games section where I kept getting this bluescreen error when I played WoW. However today the issue occured even when I didn't run the game so I think its just a general problem now.I wiped my entire computer, reupdated all my drivers and reinstalled windows 7 and wow to try to fix the problem, but no luck. I though the problem was my memory at first, so I did several memory diagnosis tests and tried different sticks of RAM (current using 8g) and they all passed and no errors came up on the windows memory diagnosis tests. I also went to the alienware website and re-downloaded all the drivers for my M17 model, and I updated windows about 50 times.I will provide my system specs and my minidump files below for you techy's to take a look:

I got a new monitor (Dell 2007wfp) and hooked it up to via VGA cable. I ordered a usb cable for it, and a DVI cable and then I went out of town for two weeks and completely unplugged all electronics including my computer. When I got back I installed the new cables, plugged everything back in, and the computer wouldn't start. The light on the PSU was flashing. I re-seated the PSU and then it came on just fine. Now every time my computer tries to resume from sleep I get a BSOD with the error "Bad_Pool_Caller".I have included the files requested in the instructions.

I don't know if this is due to dual booting or simply because HSS runs a virtual network adapter, but I'd like to get it to work properly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been working on the problem for 2 days now and have gotten to various stages of working and not working. The issue at its worst will always BSOD when starting windows even using the various options. I have since then used the command prompt option form the install disc to run chkdsk and other repair options (fixmbr sfc /scannow) and am now able to boot into windows most of the time. Oh and sfc /scannow reports corruption but unable to fixI believe it is the work of some sort of malware but i have run updated versions of kaspersky and malwarebytes as well as rkill in an attempt to remove it but all report back that there is no malware. If that is the case then I feel like my drivers have been corrupted somehow and have replaced most of them but still get BSOD's but usually after I try to run a full security scan.
The only lead I have is the log file from sfc /scannow. Oh and most of my issues happened after running driver verifier so thats why I believe it is a corrupted driver and I recently believe that my Diablo 3 account was stolen by a keylogger but yet again using all the different security options that I have since downloaded found nothing including running avg with a linux disk at startup.Anyway Im sure i forgot to add stuff that I did but hopefuly we can figure it out i feel like my only uption is to do a repair install which i think I tried bu didnt work since my install drive is only 64GB and has 6 GB space left.
I've been getting the BSOD for the past 4-5 days whenever I'm on the internet. At first I was on firefox, then I tried ie and google chrome, and I got the BSOD using all of them.

Unable to provide any other specs as I was unable to get past this BSOD. Tried loading original oem disk, disk loaded to repair, pressed (r) for repair, comes back to BSOD BAD_POOL_CALLER. am running win7 64bit, plus paid for versions of bitdefender and AVG pc tune up, none of my 3 browsers will open ( even in safe mode) all of my icons across the bottom of the page have gone, and ALL programs now end in .lnkave been to accessories, system restore , did not complete a restore point, have tried tools, internet options, advanced , reset and this did not help, also been to control panel ,back up and restorehave got into view downloads, have tried open and save but it just keeps duplicating the contents of the box and asks me again do i want to open or save.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMost of the time, whenever I open a browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Chrome) it takes 5-10 seconds before it will connect to any websites. The tabs just show the 'connecting' symbol spinning. This happens even if I'm only trying to open a single tab. It's not because the computer is going slow or anything, because I can still access other programs or do other things within the browser like open new tabs, view options, etc. It's not a problem with my internet connection, because while the browser refuses to load a site I can use the command prompt to ping the same site and I get a response immediately. This has only started happening recently, like in the past two weeks.

Neither FF, Opera or Chrome open on my Sony Vaio 64bit system. I know I have Internet access as Avast updates every day. When the relevant icons are pressed the Blue loading ring appears for a few seconds then disappears. When I try to access Task manager by ctr/alt/del the screen appears asking which service I require but when I select Task manager the Blue ring appears and again disappears and nothing happens. I regularly run anti virus scans and everything else seems to work okay. I've heard a rumour that the Bonjour service could be the problem. I I did uninstall it but maybe there is something left behind.

I used to have this problem a while ago on windows xp but worked around it with dns hacks on my linux box. This time I want to find the actual cause.
As of today, if I go to IMDB, most of the CSS files fail to load. Trying to get to the url directly, firefox and chrome both tell me that the IMDB cdn server can't be found. Running nslookup from the windows 7 machine managed to resolve the hostname perfectly. It also works flawlessly from the linux box.
I have transparent interception on port 80, going to a squid proxy which should perform all the DNS queries. It seems that browsers (firefox and chrome...untesed with others) still seem to be trying to perform DNS lookups themselves and for some reason, fail for certain addresses.
I get an error that says, "has stopped working" then it closes the window and reopens back to the same page. This happens at least once every five mins and with both chrome and IE. I've tried all the different things floating around the web on how to fix this and nothing works.
Its not a connectivity problem as uTorrent is constantly seeding in the back ground.
I've disabled all add-ons as well as disabling all start up services.
My wife's computer has an issue that just started a week ago that's driving me nuts. The PC has been running Windows 7 Home Edition (64 bit) for over a year. She sat down to use her computer and tried to open IE (IE9). When she clicked on it, a window popped up that says "Internet explorer has stopped working". What's more troublesome is that NONE of the browsers on her PC worked (FF, Chrome, IE). The kicker is that after all of this, I decided to install Opera and Safari and they work!! But the other three browsers still won't work!Also, if I boot into Safe Mode, all browsers work (IE, FF, Chrome). No changes were made to her computer prior to this happening. I really want to avoid re-installing Windows 7.
I'm probably using the worst browser, Internet Explorer. I used to use Firefox, but I was concerned with privacy issues once they teamed up with Google so I went back to Explorer. I wasn't thrilled with its state when I received it, as the graphics card was defective and several cables were unattached. But, when I got a replacement card my games played just fine, which was my main concern.Thereafter I noticed that there was a problem whenever I tried to play sound through my browser. This error comes up on all browsers from just this one computer. The computer is not believed to be infected (this issue was reported about 2 days after it was received brand new from Dell and configured for the user).
So for I have attempted the following:
-- reinstall the browsers
-- access the sites from different/brand new local and domain profiles
-- access the sites with the firewall/McAfee disabled
-- complete removal/installation of .net 3.5/4
-- complete removal/installation of Silverlight
-- complete removal/installation of Java
-- ran sfc
-- used msconfig to disable everything that was not absolutely required
I know the JSON error is javascript error, but javascript is browser dependent not system dependent. The fact that this happens even on a portable operating system indicates that this is related to a system resource that is shared by both browsers. Research turned up information indicating that json.dll variants are also installed by .Net 3.5/4 and Silverlight utilizes the .net framework.
I had been troubleshooting internet disconnects using Java based software called Internet Connection Monitor. I ran it for several days without problems and then one evening the computer was hosed up. It had rebooted back into Windows XP which I kept on the computer as a dual boot and after restarting it refused to boot Win 7. It suggested last known good settings and half way through it initiated a restore and finally booted to Win 7. However all was not well.
None of the 32 bit browsers were working, only IE9 64 bit also Malwarebytes will not update and Outlook won't open at all. After searching a bit I downloaded and ran Malwarebyte rootkit removal it found something and looks like it fixed that. A complete scan found some more viruses which got removed. I have tried flushing DNS, releasing and renewing ipconfig, and some other commands all to no avail the browsers still won't work. I have looked at system restore but there are only restores for after the problem occurred.
I have having recurring issues with either my browser or my network. Whenever I go to load a page, it tells me the dns cannot be found, which is strange because vuze and xbox live still work fine.I have this issue with any browser I've tried (IE, FF, GC; all most recent as far as I'm aware). I've tried restarting my router, adjusting the connection settings, winsock reset, reconnecting, and none of it seems to help.

After that Most of the websites don't load . Eg : Facebook , yahoo , ms support , etc . I was scanning for any malware or virus but i didn't find any . And i hardly installed software in my computer . Even this forums is not loaded fully . My connection is really bad its oly 512kbps connection but most of the websites load in >10secs but now a days in any browser they are not loading at all. I checked my connection speed with speeedtest.net and got 524kbps which is my speed . When i download things i get the correct downspeed which i used to get early .
