Audio Settings Not Saving After Shutdown?
Jan 10, 2012Every time I start my computer (running 64but Win 7 pro) I have to go to the Sound devices and change the settings. The do not save when windows shut down. What can I do?

Windows 7 Not Saving Settings, Games On Shutdown
Apr 7, 2011I just recieved a brand new gaming computer the other day with windows 7 64bit. I downloaded world of warcraft and everything went well, I was able to play and all, shut down my computer, but then when I turned my computer back on world of warcraft was gone for some reason, and I dont know what to do now. Is their any way to get my world of warcraft client back? also is there any way to make sure windows 7 saves everything when it shuts down? because it also didn't save my preferences for my desktop either.

Windows 7 Isn't Saving Things At Shutdown

Critical Level: 5%/5%
Critical action: Hibernate/Hibernate

Reserve Battery Action: N/A
If I leave the netbook on battery and go to sleep/go out/whatever, when I come back it will be off. After plugging it in and powering it on. It will say it is resuming windows, and then I get the "windows has recovered from unexpected shutdown" after Windows is started. I'm not having any problems with Windows, but this message is annoying. Theoretically when the battery hits 5% remaining, windows will gracefully hibernate and I can resume it without any problems.

Feb 26, 2012I have an HP pavilion laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium X64 - new install. The laptop has begun hanging with a black screen upon my request for it to shutdown, restart, boot, or anytime i attempt to run something which causes the windows 7 are you sure you want to allow changes to the computer message box. The only change made before this happened was a windows update. The problem started a few starts after this install. I have searched but most issues address a black screen with a completely unresponsive computer. Mine comes out of it within a minute or so.

2) Inserts into PCI-slot makes computer auto-start.
3) Windows does not auto install the card, but the drives on the CD works perfectly and the sound is fine. No problems in device manage.
4) But when I shutdown, the computer restats. Happens every time. Have to shutdown manually on the button.
5) Tried a different PCI-slot, but problem persists.

Jan 2, 2013about a week ago my realtek audio manager started literally changing settings by itself when I haven't touched the mice or keyboard for about 10 minutes or so. Feb 18, 2012I understand without being in some sort of perfectly quiet environment/home studio, nothing can be perfect.That aside, I recently purchased a new USB condenser mic (cardoid) and it can pick up all sort of sounds from my keyboard typing, mouse clicks, and my PC fans. My PC is positioned about as far as it will go without pulling the plugs out. It might also be worth noting there are no speakers on my PC. I've also read there is supposed to be a Microphone Boost in my recording settings as well as a Microphone Enhancements tab? There never has been, on any mic I've used on my PC. And it's been suggested that this might be a possible fix, but I'm sort of doubtful on that.I've been thinking of investing in more audio equipment (shock mount, scissor arm, pop filter?) or perhaps returning it for a different mic altogether.

Oct 31, 2012for some reason, my windows 7 is only offering two types of default format for my usb audio device driver; telephone quality and tape recorder quality.
obviously both of these are shockingly bad. the thing that makes it worse is that i have just brought a brand new usb desktop microphone (logitech usb desktop microphone) and windows is only offering the same settings as my old webcam microphone (and it sounds just as bad).

the guy is using windows 7 64-bit (same as me) but he has the option to increase the audio quality to dvd quality. it's the same exact microphone, same windows and appears to be the same driver. i'm running windows 7 ultimate 64-bit so it should include all of the drivers, yes?
logitech doesn't offer any drivers and the guy in the video mysteriously has the same driver but has more options than me. the microphone is just as useless with loud echos and the like as my old webcam microphone.

Ever since then the Boot and Shutdown times have increased to over 15 minutes. I have run the msconfig unticking all but the antivirus (Kaspersky) and it still takes >15 min to boot and Shutdown. Is there something I can do before I decide to reinstall Windows &. (I dont have a install disk.) The software came with the Computer and I have the OEM code (Bought at Best Buy)

Sep 23, 2012Now, just 3 days ago It started the BSOD issue.I realize that my GPU was the cause of this issue. When playing games or open 3d applications the temp goes 30C to 72C (In 15 seconds) then 82C - 85C constant (in about 30 seconds).Now I've been using MSI afterburner to check my temps and at fulload my GPU will be at 62-72C max temperature but now it's 10C even higher then before. No, I haven't fiddled with the voltage I set the GPU voltage to 1.037v which is the safest (been running this almost 8 months!). The GPU is the GTX 560ti.Is there a way to set the GPU on default settings or reset GPU settings in cmd or other professional way. I have uninstalled the drivers, uninstalling GPU, disabled GPU, disabled PCI-E slot and so on by using device manager and the issue still persist. Yes, I also have clean the GPU perfectly and still the temperature goes up to 82 seconds at 30seconds-45seconds. Yes, I have checked everything is set correctly and so on, I am a PC Tech.
Is the GPU damaged? Yes I have looked at this thread: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Mainly, I know its the GPU straight away, I tried checking old drivers, new drivers, another GPU overclocked software such as GPU tweak and EVGA Precision. I am thinking it's the GPU is damaged or the PCI-E is damaged (I have another PCI-E slot on my system and the issue still there). It might be the PCI-E frequency? but it's set to 100 which it meant to be, I just hope is software related because I don't have the money to buy a new card. Did the dump files help?

Feb 19, 2012Suddenly Windows Live Mail has gone erratic in saving emails in Sent Items. Problem just cropped up in the last few days. The option to save-in-Sent is checked.
Doing several tests of a series of three emails sent to the same address, it generally does not save the first one but DOES save the subsequent emails. Have run this test several times with the same result. For some reason, it skips the first one sent to an particular address but then saves others sent immediately. However, after an interval of time, another new message to that same address will not be saved the first time it's sent.
The messages are being sent -- I have received those that I sent to myself (to another account) and friends tell me they have received messages that I know were not saved to Sent Items. No changes were made to Windows Live Settings prior to this problem arising. It was working fine a week ago.
Operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with Windows Live Mail 2011 Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3538.0513)
Saving My Email
Dec 8, 2009I'm using windows Live email and I lost all my saved emails which were serveral hundred. I had a folder in the same root as my Inbox with sub folders and now they are gone. I would like to make a folder on the root directory of my hard drive and save them to that so this does not happen again. I have 3 hard drives so every couple of days I can just copy them over to the other 2 hard drives so this really can not happen again. What a nightmare. How can I do this?
