Audio Right Channel Not Working At All After Installing Windows 7?
Jan 17, 2012
First i want to apologize for my bad english since i'm italian So.. I just installed windows7 ultimate and suddenly the right audio channel is not working.
1) I want to make clear i've tried different cables and headphones/speakers (i'm a producer so i've got plenty..) and i can't hear the right channel at all.
2) I tried to download latest version of Realtek
3) On audio configuration when i press the configure button when i tried the right audio channel i could hear it very low (like the left channel is at least 10 times higher). that is the only situation in wich i can hear something coming out from my right speaker (and is like a 90w monitor.. so i think i'll hear it otherwise)
4) Since i just installed everything i tried to format and re-install, but i got no results
5) I tried the bit/hz thing but with ANY configuration i don't get any result
6) And now a very odd thing: since i got an external audio interface i tried even with that. right channel still not working.
I have three audio devices on my pc (ATI HDMI, Via HD onboard and steelseries usb soundcard) and through all devices I only get audio out of the left channel. I have tried two pairs on headphones and my tv speakers all with the same results. I have looked at all the balancing end everything is set to even on both channels.

is it possible to change an audio output with hot keys?for eg to play music through my headphones i use my xfi elite sound card and when i use my hifi speakers i use my onboard cards spdif out,to do this at the moment i have to go into playback devices and change default play back device, is there a way i can use say ctrl+alt+Q to do this?
Just bought a new set of desktop speakers. The volume and tone controls are on the right-side speaker. As I use my mouse, right handed, and the volume control more or less together for some work, this is a bit of a pain.
I can, of course, just move the speakers, but my son objects; for some videos and games, I guess it is important to have right-right, and left-left.
I have the Creative/Soundblaster audio setup. If I do interchange the speakers to the way I like, is there any option, anywhere, where I can have the left channel sound now going to the right speaker, and the right channel sound going to the left speaker ?
Creative, and the MS Audio options doesn't seem to have a way. I don't want to re-wire any plugs.
I have Compaq Presario C784TU laptop with windows 7 updated on it. Recently while watching a movie, the audio suddenly started giving problems. I updated my audio driver in the device manager and it installed Conexant High Definition Audio Driver 221. After installing that, my audio completely stopped working. Also, that my headphones are working but only the speakers have stopped working. I have checked all the settings and also I don't think there is any problem with the hardware.
When i try to run Insane 2 (in2ane) and Lord of the rings War in the north on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 I hear no sound from the mentioned sound codec. If I try to run GTA 4 or any other game it works very fine.
recently it came to my notice that i was running my RAM on single channel mode (2x2gb) on my dh67bl mobo. i saw it in cpu z and it showed single channel.
So, i changed my ram and placed it in identical slots and now the Cpu z shows dual channel RAM. but i don't see any visible difference in performance.
is there any performance difference in running the RAM in dual channel / single channel?
im looking at a lga 2011 x79 board. namely this one> Newegg.com - ASRock X79 Extreme6 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard but am looking at this ram> Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8Q-16GBZH do i absolutely need to place 8 sticks of ram in? or can i get away with staggering 4 sticks accross the board instead?
I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my computer after reformatting it. The installation is successful but there is no Audio. When i click on the properties of the Sound & Audio, the error says: "Cannot start this device. Code 10".
I have tried to update it through Windows update, but there is no update for the audio driver, it always says 'Your Audio Driver is Up to Date'.
I have manually tried to download and install the Audio Realtek HD sound Driver, Still does not work.
Previously i had smart audio for better performance of the sound and now after installing windows 7 home premium again that is not available. Please advice me what to do in downloading it. The internal harddisk got damaged and i had to install everything manually and so I have downloaded the conexant sound driver from toshiba site
I have an Echo MiaMIDI sound card for recordings, when i first installed it i had to disable my motherboards onboard sound through my bios before windows would use it. This has been fine for 2+ years.
Windows 7 (64 bit home premium) has suddenly started installing the "HD Audio Device Drivers". I dont understand this since I have all windows updates turned off. But when it installs these audio drivers it disables my Echo MiaMIDI card.
So i go to device manager and it shows the Echo card but says there is not enough resources to use it due to other drivers being used, and it lists the HD Audio Device being in use. So i uninstall it but moments after this Windows starts installing it again. It still says disabled in my bios. its driving me crazy because i cant use my sound card!
I have drivers installed, have uninstalled and re-installed them about 6 times now, have the correct plug plugged into my mobo, it is showing sound but neither my front output or back output are playing any sounds through my speakers or my headphones.
Just wanted to relay a little experince I had with a refurbished Dell unit here at work. I ordered a Dell Studio 540 refurb and when it arrived I noticed the analog inputs/outputs weren't recognized in the realtek audio manager. It wouldn't notice any devices plugged into either the front or the back panel. It did recognize the HDMI and Digital inputs.
I previously had Ubuntu installed, but just installed windows 7 professional with service pack1, 32-bit X86 Full.
It seems that I can't connect to the internet though. Not via the wire(LAN) or wireless. When opening up device manager the following is located under OTHER DEVICES:
I am trying to find a collection for all drivers needed to run my Vaio-FZ21M (original Vista-32 bit) under Windows 7 64 bit. I installed Win 7 64 bit and it works, but I have a problem with the Internet connection (connected but no information in the browser), so I cannot use at this momet Sony upgrade functions.
My Moterboard is asus m2n68-am plus , problem is that in windows 7 my front audio jack not working.ihave tried many latest realtech audio drivers but nothing , the problem is still continue.
I have a gateway model md2614u that use to have vista. After installing windows 7 my web cam quit working. However it does work when I use skype. The tool bar does not come up when I try to start the web cam program like it should.
So first I get this message when I mouse over the speaker icon(notice the red "x" on the icon). When I click the icon, Windows does a diagnostic and then this shows up.This is whats listed in my playback devices and this is with "Show disabled devices" enabled. Everything is enabled,Here is a picture of what my device manager looks like.
I've tried installing drivers for my sound card and my chipset, I tried restarting my computer, updated from my device manager, uninstalled drivers, reinstalled, etc. I've been searching online for a bit and nothing I found worked so I figured I'd give this a shot. I tried uninstalling the service pack update but that didn't work.

I've come across an interesting problem recently which I have tried to solve to no avail. I installed Windows 8 Developer Preview on a separate hard drive to my base Windows 7 install, and had an issue that arose where the OS suddenly decided that the drivers the keyboard was using were invalid. This is not the (current) problem, however it is important to mention. Now, to fix the Win 8 driver problem I went to the device manager, uninstalled the drivers, and then unplugged/plugged the keyboard back in. Since that rather bodged fix, the keyboard suddenly stopped working in Windows 7. It shows up in device manager as working, and I can set macros in the associated Razer software, although it does not perform its most basic function of typing. I have tried a similar tactic to that which I employed while fixing the problem with Windows 8, although my attempts have been fruitless. The keyboard in question is a Razer Lycosa, and the OS is Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.
