My new laptop with Windows 7 professional (64 bit) has strange problem related to audio. As soon as I connect modem with vendor software, audio becomes dead
well, If I remove the modem device then audio works as usual.
I upgraded my Aspire One D255 netbook from widows 7 starter to windows 7 pro (32 bit). After upgrading it is not giving me the option to conect to my wireless routerIt is not even giving me the option to scan for one. I have tried all the options in the start menu, i have tried device manager, I try to scan for a router and it says "this may take up to 90 seconds" 30 mins latter and it still hasn't found a router.Can someone tell me how to connect or go back to windows 7 starter (i dont have the disk as it was already on the laptop) or how to go back to factory deaful
View 6 Replies View RelatedA few days ago i was trying to connect my laptop to my ps3.To do this i was changing setting etc but never got it to work anyway.The next day i turn the computer on and can't connect to the internet.I think it was something to do with dns.I uninstalled and reinstalled my usb modem and software and always get full connection bars and says its connected, but in the bottom right hand corner it says network "no internet access" with a yellow triangle over it.It was because i was changing all of the settings in network and sharing senter, but being the wally i am, never wrote down the original settings. Whatever i did i am fairly certain i did it in the change adapter settings.

I triesd to reinstall the drivers bt it shows "cannot find the media device for this driver". So i formatted my laptop and installed windows 7 again to check whether it will work or not. And the bad luck followed, now modem driver is showing the same"cannot find the modem device for this driver".

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7 32 bit and I just noticed that all my drivers for the USB controllers, Audio/Sound devices and the Networking internet (Broadcom Netxtreme Drivers) have all died. They indicate that a Code 39 is the problem. I tried to load some of the drivers but it wouldn't allow them to install. I did a last known configuration attempt, no results. Did a system restore and it gave me an error message saying it didn't restore properly. I am trying to get the drivers online, burn them to a disk and load them. I have no internet access on that PC and the USB ports obviously don't work. I can get drivers on this PC online. Some I can't find. I did the uninstall driver, disable, all the usual for this problem. I am stumped. Any recovery attempts produce nil results. Thanks to Microsoft, I have no installation disc to do a new install or a backup image.

View 15 Replies View Relatedwasn't sure where to post this, but under win 7 seemed vaguely logical.yesterday, i thought i'd have a day with my pc connected up to my tv, a 37 inch samsung lcd. i connected via hdmi, thinking this would be a piece of cake.tried first to watch the football, streaming via sky go, but the audio was so bad, i disabled the hdmi audio, and plugged in a 3.5mm jack, but that did not work at all. reverted to the hdmi, but that was still awful. i just kept breaking up. so i killed the stream, and tried to p[lay some music from my music files, but again the audio was terrible, constantly brteaking up.
i don't know why, but i thought i'd try a game. so i fired up steam, opened up big picture mode, and sound was normal. i loaded portal 2. audio quality was excellent. no breaking up at all. so i closed steam, and tried Internet. audio was perfect.
closed the web browser, and tried my music files again. audio was again back to being terrible, breaking up. opened my browser again, loaded a Internet video, perfect sound. i paused the video that was playing, opened windows media player, played a music file and guess what ? perfect audio !!! but only while Internet page was open and video paused. when i closed the browser, the sound reverted to crappy breaking up sound. system details in case it matters are : intel core i7 3820, asrock extreme 4 mobo, gigabyte radeon hd 7950 windforce 3x, 8gb crucial ballistix ram, ocz vertex 4 128gb ssd, windows 7 pro 64 bit.
i've gone back to my little monitor for now, but occasionally i'll want to put this on my tv.
I have a front audio panel and a CMI 8738-6ch sound card.The front audio does not work and has a wire coming directly from the back of it with this plug on the end of it... There are 4 wires going into this plug.On the sound card I have a 4 pin connector which, by trying with the computer turned off, I know fits this plug. Despite them fitting together, this being the only wire coming from the front audio panel and plug being on the sound card we all know that naivety often makes 2+2 = 5?

A Win7 system has some problems and could NOT be booted itself. So I took an additional bootable repair or LiveSystem CD and start the computer with it. I have now a running WinOS and another dead Win7 e,g, on a partition C: on a hard disc.
Now I want to apply an existing *.reg Script into the registry of the dead system (=NOT the currently running system. Can I do this somehow? Is there e.g. a command
regedit myscript.reg -writetowin C:Windows
whch writes the *,reg file to the Registry of the Win7 system which it find on partition C: in folder "Windows"?
Maybe I can address the target registry file directly regedit myscript.reg -writeregistrydirect C:windows txxxxxxx.dat
In which file(s) is the Registry stored? Second question: Can I at least read from such an external dead Registry?
I allowed the battery on my Acer notebook to run out causing Windows to shut down and lock the current files. As I needed the files urgently I asked a professional to recover them, which he did. Later I connected the mains power and recharged the battery. Now the notebook keyboard will not allow me to enter my password when demanded. The mouse and touchpad work. I have used F8 to try to restore the previous status.

I figured it was the SSD, but it was the mainboard or something. I now have a new Lenovo X1 Carbon, and the SSD from the MacBook Pro is in an ext. USB enclosure. How would the experts recommend that I image the old installation onto the new laptop?I found this article (Restore Windows 7 to different computer ) but it requires the old computer to be working. (keep in mind the X1 doesn't have an optical drive -- I will have to create a bootable USB key for this process.. Or perhaps it's possible to boot off of the external HD -- I'll check the BIOS)

I also know that I need to do a good backup of my critical files and the pictures I want to keep.I have had many people tell me that before I make such a change in operating systems, do a backup first, because Windows 7 requires a clean startup, because there is no upgrade from XP to Win7.Is there an easy way to keep these work related files, and .jpg pictures using a simpler backup process than the software backup program called Acronis?I have also read that there is a program that will run at the same time as Windows 7, like a separate operating system called XP Mode.
