i enjoy playing games on nintendo8. but i hate the fact that turning off the sound isn't an option. these games run on java. i was wondering, is there anyway i could mute the sound of java, or just the web page, or even the browser, without turning off all my system sound? because i want to listen to Internet videos, and media player videos, while playing these games.
Why when watching Live TV in media center does muting the sound there mute all of Windows sounds? Would like to be able to mute TV sound, use close captions but still have windows sound function for other programs.

Using a tuner card in my computer. When I mute the sound in Media Center Live TV, it mutes all the Windows sound. Would like to be able to mute the Live TV & run closed captioning while keeping all the other Windows sounds. Can't seem to find any options to set.
I'm having trouble with controlling the volume in windows 7. If I'm playing music through either Windows media player or itunes and drag the taskbar volume slider down to 0% I can still hear sound. I've only noticed this problem last night so I thought a system restore to yesterday afternoon would fix it but I've still got the problem. There is a possibility that this problem there since the installation of windows and that I only noticed it last night though.
Some random details: I've noticed that if I open the mixer, all of the levels claim to be on the same volume. Itunes, applications and system volume sliders are all at zero but sound is still playing. If I just click on the itunes slider, the sound disappears completely and 0% volume actually means just that. The problem then is that the slider is then independent to the master volume slider and I have to adjust the volume for itunes every time.
System specs: Dell Optiplex GX620 (Tower) P4 3.2GHz Windows 7 Professional 32-bit SoundMAX integrated audio
My system doesn't even have official Vista drivers from Dell so if the problem was there since before last night then it's probably due to the drivers. If that is the case, is there anything that I could do (other than a system upgrade)?
Ok, I have looked everywhere and tried several "solutions" to get windows to recognize where Java.exe so it can run .jar files.I'm running windows 7 64-bit with java 1.6 32-bit installed. And when I try to install craftbukkit I only get errors.I have copied these errors so you can view them at...So I searched all over google and tried to go to my computer, advanced settings, path and add the path there but i still get the same errors.I've been all over the mine craft and bukkit forums but no one there can explain how to fix it
Every time I start or exit a program, I get an annoying "Boing" sound. I have been trying for weeks to find a way to shut this thing off or even to change it but cannot find anything that stops it or allows a change in that awful sound.
One USB device on my desktop computer running Win 7 professional does not work. Maintenance service told me that they cannot repair dysfunctional USB because it is build into the case (chassis). But one dysfunctional USB is not a problem at all, because I have 7 other USB slots operating normally. Anyway, now I am getting non-stop notifications of this non-problem!!! Why? The frequency is sometimes very high and always extremely annoying: it varies greatly, it can be between 5-10 per minute. Aural notifications have this annoying sound and visual notifications are popping up in a sizable cloud in bottom right corner of a screen and are lingering there for far too long, and when I click to close it, it pops back immediately. This is a spoiler (I could tolerate one or two dysfunctional notification a day). It is bothering me visually and aurally, greatly diminishing my user experience, disturbing my work, my listening to the music and watching the pictures or movies. After much tinkering I succeeded to turn off sound notification (via Sounds customization), but I cannot turn off visual notifications. I cannot customize Notification area icons - when I try to "Hide icons and notifications" in category Windows explorer where there is this unwanted visual message USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED and click OK, it does not work, because it pops up again immediately - next time I check Notification area icons customization this category is back to "Only show notifications" although I changed it to "Hide".
I have this pain in the ass problem with HP's mute button on my nc8430 laptop (Hp quick launch buttons). The core of the problem is that the system mutes the sound by default and the orange light on the button is always on. In reality that means that anytime I want to play something with sounds (mp3, movie, flash online video,..) the system needs like 10 seconds to turn on the sound card and after I finish playing the media file it again goes back to mute.
I tried installing/uninstalling different versions of "incompatible" HP's QLB drivers, installing differend sound card drivers but nothing helps. The sound comes out every time, except it needs 10+ secs every fuc***** time!?
My friend told me about this game "Tribes" It's a fantasy shooting game. Requires a pretty good PC to run it on "very high" which i did. I didnt really have any lags or anything. Smooth gaming...
After 45min - 1hour playing this game. My pc suddenly starts to make this sound like it's "sparks" and my pc turns black for 2 - 4 secs. It did this 3 - 4 times in a row with 5 - 10 sec between. So i closed the game fast as possible and saw my graphic card running 70 degrease. My friend told me to take my cover on the side off to get a better airflow. I did it reduced it with 3 - 4 degrease.
With Cover on my PC runs 45 degrease with regular programs open. (Windows live messenger, Curse Client) And 2 - 3 internet browsers - Without my cover it runs 41 - 43 degrease. (My side cover got a 200x40 fan running on the side)
My question is: What could cause these blackouts and the sparkling?? "Only tried this 1 time playing Tribes. I also got BF3 no problems playing that game" Is 40 - 45 degrease to high running now game? Does my PC suck lots of dust in without a side cover on? Could my side fan be pushing air away from my GPU?? (causing the high degrease)
This problem for me is kindof hard to explain, When i open my World of Warcraft or Crysis with my sound on or even WMP running it distorts whatever sounds are playing horribly, Quite honestly it sounds like two trains colliding in your ears. Its disgusting, If anyone has had this problem or even knows how to fix this please help. P.S. I have updated my Realtek HD driver and still have this problem.
i want play games with headphones and at same time wife wach tv. i buy aditional sound card but dont know how swith(cofigure) that flash player use optical way game front socket (front panel connected on aditional sound card)i try see in game (f1 2012) options to change audio but no setups for that.
I have an Acer G7710 Predator PC that has Realtek audio on board. While playing Dragon Age and Titan Quest, the sound freezes and often causes a BSOD. It starts with the sound cracking and popping and rather quickly either freezes the system or causes a BSOD.My first step was to install a sound card. I have a basic Sound Blaster Audigy Value edition card and installed it and disabled the onboard audio. To my surprise, it freezes exactly like the Realtek one did.The odd thing is that if I reboot I can go back and play the games without any issues. This freezing seems to only occur if I start playing after the PC has been running 30 minutes or so. I have honestly just started rebooting every time before I play and it seems to help with the freezing.I have read countless forums and tried various fixes and nothing works. I have honestly thought about buying an external sound card and seeing what happens. I have read many others who have this exact same issue and cannot find a solution.
I have a problem that's been driving me crazy. I'm new here so forgive me and feel free to direct me to any thread if it's been posted already. So I have a HP DV6-2162NR laptop and the mute button (touch) is stuck in the mute position (see picture). The button works completely fine, as in it will mute and unmute on command but the button does not change color from orange to white. I couldn't do a system restore because there wasn't one saved. I tried disabling the sound card but that didn't work.I'll restart it and it turns white. But as soon as Windows 7 loads, it turns orange and stays orange.
I recently had to purchase a brand new motherboard because my last one died on me and now I am having a strange problem. I can not seem to play any video games without the sound from the game turning off and pausing any music I happen to be listening to. I can turn back on the Music by skipping ahead in the song track but the game sound stays off until it resolves itself after a few minutes.
And not just fullscreen. Saaaay... Farm Frenzy? Or any other game. Computer makes a buzzing noise on EVERY game I play when it loads something from the game. It's not from the speakers, it's from the computer itself. What's the catch?
While either watching a video on the internet or playing games I get this sound crackling/popping, I think it's because the video itself is stuttering and causing the issues (but the stuttering is that noticeable) and while playing games the stuttering is much more noticeable and the popping sounds happen at the same time.I have no idea what is causing this issue, I had no idea where to post my problem either, I don't know if it's a video issue, sound, memory, windows, etc
the mute button light doesn't turn on when i turn the mute on and it's supposed to. do you think i need a windows 7 driver for that? There is only vista and xp drivers however. should I get the vista one? which driver would it be?
Just recently, when I go to mute the sound in Windows, it does nothing and sounds continues to still be played. The icon in my taskbar displays the red circle with the slash through it indicating that it has been "muted" when in fact it has not. I am still able to adjust the volume with the slider and that works fine, just not mute.
As it stands right now, my Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card will not allow me to plug in my headphones via the front panel of my desktop. (This makes sense, as the onboard audio solution was disabled upon installation of the card.)Thinking that this would only be a minor setback, I purchased a simple Y audio cable that enabled me to plug in both the speakers and the headphones at the same time.Unfortunately, this does *not* work as well as I intended. (It merely reduces the output of each, while simultaneous emitting sound. Nothing is muted.) Furthermore, it seems I can not get my card to actually *detect* the headphones.
A few days after installing windows 7 the Quick Launch mute button is stuck on (red) indicating that the system is muted whether or not it's muted in the system tray. No sound will come out of the external speakers but headphones work fine. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the sound drivers on the support page but that limits me to only using headphones OR internal speakers (even if headphones were plugged in) by setting it through Control Panel. System restore fixed the problem for 1 day and it reoccurred.
I've just installed the newest version from HP but it doesn't affect anything: HP Quick Launch Buttons HP Pavilion dv7-1135nr Entertainment Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)
I found related topics with similar (but not the same) issue but none have solved the problem.
I apologize in advance if my post is missing any information; I attempted to follow the directions for properly posting but while I'm am computer functional, I'm not overly computer literate. [code] The system constantly crashes when playing video games and games consistently lag. We have completely re-installed the OS and replaced all parts in the PC at least twice. When the system crashes the speakers buzz loudly, although sometimes it sounds like it's coming from the computer itself. We switched from Nvidia because everything has checked out and it was hoped that the problem was the hardware not playing nice to no avail. I'm still getting the same error/crash. This doesn't work. Very irritating.(I don't know if this RealTek sticky at the top of this forum is a solve for this, I'm not hot on registry changes and I'm not sure if this is a fix for this issue.)Firstly I have to turn off the front-panel detection in order for the front panel to be detected..?Secondly, I can't get the speakers to mute when the front phones are plugged in. I can do a manual switch from one to the other, but the front panel won't detect when things are plugged in.
The autostart function is not working properly. When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. It's imposible to play games that require the insertion of the disc into the CD Rom Drive, for the same reason.Im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have a LG Super Multi RwDVD +R DL Light scribe multirecorder.
ok so i have a problem thats been driving me insane. my toshiba F50 was working totally fine until suddenly during games my GPU started overheating quickly during games (Was not doing this before) i noticed that my fan didnt seem to be spinning as fast as before. i cleaned it still no avail, tried riva tuner and ntune and all of that jazz and all of them have the fan control options greyed out? (cannot use them)i noticed that when i start the laptop the POST test on the fans guns the fan to 100% speed so i know its capable of doing it. it seems like the fan doesnt know to speed up when it gets hot and it keeps shutting my system down and i reallllly dont feel like damaging my GPU. i tried rolling back my drivers and running the latest drivers.
My printer keeps giving me the error message "A printer error has occurred, turn off the printer, then press on button to turn on. See your documentation" I have unistalled it held down the on button and cancel button at the same time to print a test paper, but still can't get anything to print.
