Everytime I try and install catalyst 9.6/driver, my screen will display only the background picture, nothing else. Ctrl-alt-del turns the screen black, esc out and back to background picture. Had to go safe mode and system restore everytime. Driver shows up in microsoft updates and same result. Anybody have any suggestions?
View 3 RepliesI just bought a new acer (link) and proceeded to install windows 7 (64-bit) straight ahead. I must admit i made a bit of a mistake when i didn't check if the box it got shipped in contained any drivers or such (which it didn't to my surprise!)
Currently got experience with 32-bit Windows 7, but not with 64-bit which I've heard had a rough time with bugs. Because my system is a 64-bit platform i suppose this might be one of the reasons for my problems. On a side note, this system is shipped out with both onboard gfx and an extra card (the ATI 4670 one)
But on to the main issue; Currently my problem with this system is an issue regarding my ATI mobility radeon HD4670 GFX card. (This is the drivers I've tried soo far:
ATI Catalystâ„¢ Mobility Display Driver - Directly downloaded from the ati.amd.com site (this is by chance also the latest native win 64-bit driver) http://www.acer.com - Go to the driver section and select the right system (Acer Aspire 8935G).
Sadly there is no windows 7 drivers atm, only vista ones. Without any drivers, this is how my Device Manager list my display units. As you will notice windows update have already found some driver for it. But the Device will not start (This device cannot start. (Code 10))
just purchased a new Pentium 4 3.4 GHz 32-bit processor with HyperTransport technology and a new AGP HIS ATI Radeon HD 4670 with IceQ and 1GB DDR3 RAM packed in a green and black box with this serial number H467QS1GHA. I also installed a new Windows 7 32-bit. I installed the drivers from the HIS CD that was packed with the graphics card but when I start up Windows I can't play any 3D games. Also a message from ATI Catalyst Control Center pops up saying that I don't have an ATI driver or the ATI driver is not working properly.I got these error mesages (I listed the games too)

I have an Acer Aspire Z5610 all-in-one desktop. Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.History: I was getting a blue screen, generally when multitasking and streaming video going.A friend suggested a video card driver upgrade, which did in fact resolve that problem. A few months down the road, the computer would just suddenly shut down. No blue screen. Found and installed an updated driver (8.920.0.0 date 11/9/2011), but didn't resolve problem.The only thing that seems to prevent the shut downs is to change the "theme" to "Windows 7 Basic", without any HD wallpapers. Additionally, moving windows around is not smooth and remnants of closed windows stay on the screen occasionally.Found some threads here that mentioned a conflict between Intel chips default video driver and the ATI driver, but only the ATI card shows up in the device manager.I just assume it's the video card or driver because changes in how the graphics are displayed seem to effect the shutting down. Some have suggested it's the RAM or mother board.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHad a frustrating afternoon trying to get my triple-monitor setup going again; I had WinXP for years with two video cards: a single, simple VGA / PCI card, and a recent Radeon HD 4670 card with two outputs. Under XP everything was recognized without incident, first repeating all three monitors and then able to extend windows to this monitor under Display Preferences.
Now under Windows 7 RC, I did a fresh install with both cards inserted, and only the single VGA card would drive its monitor. The HD 4670 drivers are listed in the Device Manager, I removed and installed the ATI 9.9 version software several times, and the single VGA output is the only thing I get. I even tried the 'F8', selected the unsigned drivers, and still it didn't bring the Radeon to life.
I pulled the single VGA card out, and bam the two monitors off the Radeon come alive. I install the CCC and it works just fine. And then I shutdown, add the VGA card back, and get the single VGA output again.
my graphics card is Mobility radeon HD5145 ..whenever i update my driver only the catalyst control center updates .. but the core driver is stuck at 10.8.

My graphics drivers appear to be stuck on this version - every time I try to update, it goes through the whole process and looks like it exits successfully, but every time a new update is released it says my version is 12.4. <_<

Im running a 6870 with windows 7 64-bit for the most part i have had no problems with catalyst or the card, apart from a random occurence where the screen rolls over, so the left side goes into the right and it just moves to the left so it still covers the screen, HOWEVER thats not my current issue, i recently used 'Driver sweeper' to clear all AMD drivers and do a fresh install of the frivers/catalyst to see if i could stop the occasional "this driver has stoped responding but has been seccesfully recovered" rerroes, or this screen spiltting issue, because i presumed it was a software issue, and then i re-installed with the 11.12 version, which at teh end came up with a message that there were erros and to read the log, which i did and thety all said sucess with nothing down the bottom saying anything about an error, but it all still worked althoguh i still had hte not responding error however i recently installed the 12.2 preview drivers, 9aswell as the 12.1 drivers), both of these version after i install them catalyst wont open, on both right clicking the desktop and running ccc.exe after i installed it i havnt had any not responding or BSOD errors, however i cant acces catalyst, and on some occasions when i installed hte 11.12 drivers random things like not being able to acces catalyst via right-clicking the desktop happened, i have had a look at many posts about it not worknig or opening up ,but they all come back with a fixx where they just removed and installed it fresh, well i have triyed the amd uninstalled aswell as driver sweeper, both to no avail, and i have hte lates .net framwork to support catalyst, i just dont understand why it wont work and now when im trying to acces catalyst explorer comes up with the not responding error, and i can see catalyst in the task manager pop up for a second but then it goes away, i will check msconfig and services to make sure its all working but i cant think of any reason why it wont work at all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my AMD catalyst software to 12.4 on my HTPC. Been noticing that when I am viewing via my Sharp 19"LED TV I get signal cut out after about 20 minutes. I notice this when my screen save comes on in WMC. It eventually craps out and I get "no signal" messages on my screen. It comes back if I simply click on the mouse.This never used to happen before. I could leave the HTPC on over night and simply turn the TV monitor off. When I would turn the monitor on in the morning, the Desktop would be visible.Are there new settings in 12.4 that could be causing signal cut out (i.e. like an energy saver option)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA few days back I picked up an AMD C-60 powered netbook, an ASUS 1015BX to be exact.As the stock HD is not terribly large, and Windows 7 Starter is quite terrible, the first thing I did was stick 4GB RAM into it, swap the HD and install Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit.Now, the issue I am having is that the video drivers will not install properly.When attempting to install the AMD official driver packages the 'Vision Engine Control Center' is installed but it only lists information on the CPU.The driver listed on ASUS' support site (x86 only, like most of their drivers for this netbook ) does install CCC but it can not be opened. With all attempted driver installations the Device Manager lists the GPU as a 'Standard VGA Display Adapter'.Additionally, I was sure to update Windows to SP1 before installing any drivers (as required with 11.9).So far I have tried reinstalling Windows 64-Bit, then Windows 32-Bit and trying driver versions 11.9-11.5 along with the ASUS supplied driver on the 32-Bit install.At no time has the driver been accepted, although I am sure the hardware is working as the drivers on the original instillation where.So, does anyone have any ideas on how I could solve this?With the AMD C and E series being so popular now, and me not being the only one with This Issue, I am sure someone here has encountered and solved this issue.Maybe it would be possible to take the driver straight out of the stock instillation (I have not yet formatted the disk)
