I bought a new Dell computer XPS 9100 10/2010. It has actually been sitting in its box unused up until today. I finally took it out of the box and set it up. I knew there would be a lot of updates and there is 92 to start with. It didn't give me the options to update a few at a time. So the question is...if I let the machine update all 92 will it be OK at the end or will Windows have a heart attack and crash?

I can't understand why I even need them, as I uninstalled net framework. Notice how the update at 8:17 AM., KB2656368, is the same as one of the 4 updates installed at 7:47 PM. Windows wants to install the same four kb files again.How do I stop this?

I am unable to connect to MSE to get updates or to Windows to get updates. I have run Malwarebytes and Emsisoft and neither one can find a bug. Chrome works for a while and the she gets the AW SNAP message.

I made a thread a few days ago about not being able to install a specific update. Now I've discovered I cannot install ANY updates. I've tried disableing my anti-virus, firewall, tried manually dling the update from M$, even tried installing the updates on a newly created admin account, and no luck. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem?

These errors arises as a result from Windows Update, several updates don't intend to install i.e VS SP1 2005 comprises the update error resulting many update downloads but not one is installed successfully.
Any tips on solving this nonsense issue?
My computer downloaded updates for my Laptop. Upon restarting to install the updates it reaches a point and can not install certain updates. All it shows is fatal error.Every time i switch off the laptop and restart it, it re-installs but on reaching that particular point, an error code is created.

So everything seems to be working fine but when i click start and shut down, the shut down has the shield logo thing next to it for updates and when i click on shutdown it says theres 92 updates. So i waited for it to install them and when its done it configures them and windows comes back up. But then when i go to shutdown again it still says theres 92 updates to install and does it all again.

I seem to have resolved that issue, but now ALL of my miscrosoft documents, pictures, etc. that were in files are gone. The file folders apeear as usual, but they are now completely empty. I was wondering if I should put my discs in for the windows upgrade and run it thru again over the top of what I have... In Windows 7, when the Shut down button has an exclamation point on it, it installs updates before shutting down.How can I see what updates it is going to install before I shut down?Can I turn this option off so it only installs updates when I select?
