Possible error here in Windows Explorer (build 7100 X-64)
Expanding Computer in the window on the left doesn't show the 2 installed CD / DVD devices but only the "Virtual Device" created by UltraISO.
Double clicking on the computer shows all the devices as shown in image 2.
UltraISO or Windows prob? Not a real "Show stopper" but I would like the system to be correct.

I just installed Windows 7 on my Sony VGN-BZ560. I have a very strange error. After a certain period of time and programs (which seems to be random) the window borders will disappear and it will become a strange blue.
This is a stock install using the Intel 45 Graphics driver in the RC build. Anyone know any solutions? I've googled but come up pretty empty.
after installing windows 7 rc on my laptop i decided to try and install it on my desktop pc running windows vista home premium 32-bit
when installing it on one user account i get the error message "D:SourcesInput.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for suuport."
then i pess "ok" and another errore message comes up:
"Windows could not load required file WinSetup.dll. The file may be corrupt to install windows, restart the installation. Error code: 0xC1.
Wheni try to install it on a different user account i receive anither error message
"Windows was unable to create a required installation folder. error code: 0x80070017"

View 4 Replies View Relatedive got a Problem installing build 7100 on my pc. if i boot from dvd, iam going well until the wallpaper and the mouse appears. after 5mins of waiting here iam getting a BSOD with an 0x0000007F Error Code.
If i try to install b7100 into a VM (with the DVD) it works!
And if i try to install/update the pc via the booted windows 2008, it also works!
Only if i boot from the dvd and try to install, it failse.
Iam allready tryed various options (remove USB,remove NIC, burn again(slow), vertify md5/sha1,removed raid) but always the same story.
I keep getting the error message that Windows Explorer has stopped working (I'm using x64 7 Pro) and then restarting. I have tried the following but, to no avail:Updating all drivers.Running Scannow under admin which could find no unerabilities.Running a virus check (Kasperky) which found nothing.Ran Malware Bytes which found nothing.I booted-up in Safe Mode which didn't bring-up the message.Ran System Restore which didn't fix the issue.

I'm repeatedly having this error where all the folders I have open is closing and an error message appears: "Windows explorer needs to close." After 1-2 seconds other programs that were running reappears but the folders have been closed. Is this normal? I ran full system scan with MSE, MBAM and Superantispyware. No virus or malware was found.

I am running Windows Seven Professional 64-bit and Windows Update isn't showing any more possible updates.
My computer is a Dell Precision M90 laptop with a Intel Core2 Duo 2.0GHz processor.
Problem:
When I use Windows Explorer to open files that are associated with the program SolidWorks I receive the message: "There was a problem sending the command to the program."
I am running SolidWorks 2010 Professional SP0 which is a 3D modeling program for mechanical engineering. The program ran under XP without this issue.
I only receive this message if there is not an instance of SolidWorks running. Even after I receive this message, SolidWorks still loads and opens the file I selected through Windows Explorer.
This problem occurs no matter where the file is located (network or local).
This problem doesn't keep me from getting my work accomplished, but it is a bit of nuisance. Any help that anyone could offer would be much appreciated. I'm including a screen capture of the message.
Few weeks old HP PC, Windows7 Home Premium, 64 Bit
Still fighting my problem with Windows Explorer shutting down periodically,
every 1/2 to 1 hour, fixing itself, and restarting. Really annoying to say the least, as the re-starts wipe out a few of the icons in the notification area of the Taskbar at bottom. Takes about a minute or so for the"re-fixing" to be accomplished.
Anyway, some of the error msgs in the Event Log had ATI mentioned.
Thought this might be a problem with my ATI graphics card.
There are two Users on PC, and the other user says he never, ever, gets any of these error messages, so it's hard to see that it's a graphic card problem, as the card, I would think, is active irrespective of the user. True ?
This morning the error message were different.
It said: "the Device detected a Controller error onDeviceHarddisk5DR5"

Is this my main PC HD ? I only have one.
But I do use External HD's for backups.
Think the HD is about to quit ?
Have so many error msgs, that I was wondering if there is any way of opening my Event Log (viewer) to all on-line so you experts can have a peek at it? Other than posting one or two descriptions here, posting them all doesn't seem practical.
Any suggestions ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having lots of small problems after upgrading from 7100 to 7127. I am using x64 and since the time I have upgraded, the whole machine has become extremely slow.
Earlier it used to be extremely quick in bootup and shutdown etc. Now it takes almost double the time to startup and shutdown. I am using a 256GB SSD and it is making a major difference in speed now.
I am planning to do a fresh install of 7127 x64 but any ideas guys?
I'm getting random freezes that require me to restart my computer and I'm not sure what's wrong. The OS installed fine with no missing drivers (aside from my wireless network card and my LAN drivers which still doesn't work: Realtek RTL8168B). At first I thought I had bad video drivers as I've experienced this before with Vista but the problem persisted even after updating to the lastest Windows 7 beta drivers from ATI.
It's strange because the system rarely froze during normal usage but the OS freezes immediately when I play any internet based games (Left4dead + COD4) or use any 3rd party program that requires bandwidth (utorrent + IRC).
I suspect the culprit now to be the wireless drivers but what doesn't make any sense is that I've had no issue at all with web browsing. Internet surfing and IM-based programs (Digsby) work fine. The wireless drivers work as expected.
Other things I've done:
Vista32 Home = stable.
Memtest86+ passed without errors.
All drivers current (Windows 7 betas if possible if not Vista64).
Ran programs that caused immediate freezing in compatibility mode (Vista SP1).
Power Options: Display off @ 30 minutes; Sleep @ 2 hours.
Turned off Media Player Network Sharing services (read it could be an issue)
Build 7100 will allow upgrades after all but from build 7077 up only. Without having to edit install routine.
View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded to 64bit. Seems i have a little problem with both 7077 and 7100. The PC wont shut down, or restart, it just hangs. Occasionally it will restart but not often. Ive tried everything such as Bios checking, unplugging external equipement.
Its not any software ive installed, it even does it during setup. Will come to a part of setup where it needs to restart and it hangs, i have to manually restart it for setup to continue.
I hope someone has a clue as to what may be doing it, as i thought it was a 7077 bug and it turns out its more likely my PC then anything else.
I've got windows 7 V7100 running on my dell D600 and when i attempt to upgrade it to 7201 x86 it fails saying it can find winload.exe.
i have my drive setup like this
100mb windows parition. ( from the orginal 7100 install on a blank hdd)
58G OS drive where Windows 7 is installed ( 7100)
239G Apps Parition ( labeled F & Installed as mounted volume as media)
from what i gathered the upgrade tries to use F: as the setup from the upgrade ( i have tried via USB & just extracting it to C:Windows 7 or F:Windows 7 - it asks the same Question ) and if i edit the BCD with EasyBCD the upgrade seems to point to F:
Should i just remove the 100Mb and 58G partitions and reload in one parition ? ie fresh install and leave the upgrade alone.... ?

I know that partition's there it's just for some reason 7 decided to say oh no no more will you have the option to boot to linux probably a plan by M$ to screw over people who jsut want to do an "upgrade" into doing more work but oh well. So what's the plan now? Do i have to do a complete reinstall of ubuntu to get my grub back or is there a simpler fix?

Now I cannot open Outlook, Word, iTunes etc. When I do try to open these programs, I get a message saying "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Small Business 2007", but it doesnt seem to do anything. I've run a diagnostic (F12) and was alerted of the following error :Error Code 0142, Msg Error Code 2000-0142, Status 79. The system is extremely slow and I can only stay logged onto an IE page for a few minutes before it has to shut down. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a pc running Windows 7 64bit and for a week or two I have been having problems openeing Windows Explorer to view files etc. The first time I tried to open it, it would shutdown saying "Windows Explorer ash stopped working", but then when I tried again it worked. This was annoying but at least I could access my files to copy photos etc.
Today when I try to open it, I get an error saying "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information"
It comes up with this and then shuts explorer down, and everytime I do this I get the same. I have tried to access it through all the user accounts and get the same thing each time.
I have done a virus/malware check (I used Malwarebytes, AVG, and AdAware) and everything seems ok there, and I did a sfc/scannow (?) and that said everything was ok.
I turn the computer on, Windows (7 Home Premium, on a Dell Inspiron) starts, I go to my logon screen, type my password, hear the music and see the "Welcome" screen for a long time (3 minutes or so). Then I get a small error window with the message The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000006). Please Click OK to continue.I click OK, and I see a frozen screen (black, not blue).That's it. Nothing else happen.
