View 8 RepliesHelp. My Windows mail deleted all my February mail, even the ones in my inbox. Is this normal? How can I set it up to keep my emails, on my hard drive, indefinitely? Or is there a way. I never had this problem with Outlook Express and My Office Suite did not come with Outlook .

It worked fine until about a week ago and now it is full to bursting and I cant even get it to delete one at a time. (It gives me an error message: "an unknown error was encountered")

I downloaded the 32-Bit Version 941090 package yesterday, it still does not work. I did have an automatice update a few days ago, and I am beginning to think that is when it stopped working properly.

Now, when I delete an email from my "Inbox," it does NOT appear in my "Deleted Items" folder. It just seems to disappear. I did read many of the earlier posts and have tried the suggestions. I've gone to Tools>Options>Advanced>Maintenance - the "Empty messages from the Deleted Items folder on exit" is NOT checked. I've also gone to Current View "Show all messages" - that's identified/checked. Is there something else that I can do? I'd appreciate any suggestions. This is the first time I've used
the Discussion Group, so I hope that I'm doing this correctly.
I am looking for 'user32.dll.mui' that is in the 'C:WindowsSysWOW64en-US' irectory. I was removing the watermark from the file in WinSys32 and in the process, I deleted the file in SysWOW64. Just trying to find someone who has x64 Edition AND SP2 installed... no luck so far...

I checked my system32 folder, and for now wininit.exe is there. its size is 95kb. I am afraid if this file got deleted, I wont be able to log-on to windows again. Same thing has happened to my friend in past where Norton deleted some crucial file in System32 folder, then whole system needed to be reformatted and reinstalled. I cant understand if the file that is still present in my system32 folder will stay or be deleted later as the utility said. what can I do now to protect myself from situation that might arise if this file got deleted?

The recylcing bin on the desktop was deleted. I'm not sure how to restore it, and can only make shortcuts of it on the desktop. I can't empty it if it is a shortcut. How can I put the recycling bin back on the desktop so that it is not a shortcut?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOur community centre has WiFi with WEP security. When I try to connect to it using my Win7 netbook, it does not offer any opportunity to enter a password, then it thinks for about 1 minute, then issues afailure message (I am writing this from memory at home, so I can't recall the exact wording of the error message). IIRC, I had tried to connect at some point in the past and may have entered an incorrect password. I would like to delete the network entirely and ensure that Windows is starting from scratch to connect to this network. However, I can't find anywhere that the network can be deleted. Nothing about this network appears in the Network and Sharing Centre.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi have read where the deleted items are still some where in my pc its just a process to find them. and then some say i am out of luck. that it is lost for ever. i know it is movies i am about to quote. but how do people delete there emails. and the goverment can bring the files back up. again i know this is movie lines. but i believe there is a way to find them. they should still be on the hard drive or somewhere.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI reinstalled Vista (x64 ultim., in Italian) upon a previous installation, then another time, 'cause the previous one went bad (drivers' issues; black screen); so I've got "windows.old" and a "windows01.old" folders. I easily deleted the latter, then I rebooted and tried to delete the former. Thus I hit "DEL", and deleted the folder (some 10 gb). Thereafter I rebooted, but... windows.old is still there on the root! Thus I tried to delete it, but the prompt said (I approximate a "translation" from italian to English) "impossible to find the item; it is no more present in c:. please check the item's path and try again" OMG! But how! I see it! It is still there! What can I do please? I want to remove it at all costs; it is like a challenge, 'cause I feel very frustrated that I have installed a OS behaving such a way!
