Emails Received And Sent To Be Sorted Based On Date Received And/or Sent
Dec 16, 2009My Microsoft Mail in Vista moves received and sent emails in a very odd manner. Rather than keep emails sorted strictly by date received and/or sent, the emails are moved. For example, if I reply to an email received and it had a subject line, a return email may be buried deep based on who sent the original and the subject. This makes finding the emails very difficult. I would like all emails received and sent to be sorted based on date received and/or sent, similar to Outlook.

Aug 12, 2008At the moment it runs XP pro (Very well i might add!) but my friend insists on wanting Vista ultimate installed instead. I have shown him the rig with XP running but he is not convinced! So before he rushes out and buys a copy, i would like to get some "Real world" opinions on vista ultimate on this hardware. (just so i dont get a ear full of abuse if its slow as a snail!)

Nov 30, 2009I just upgraded my Lenovo Z60m last night to Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit and now i can't get any sound out whatsoever. Ive tried attaching headphones and stuff but none of them work. im pretty sure its probably my driver problem but i have no idea how to check what my sound card is. ive already tried realtek and soundmax but none of them work! Anyone has an idea where and how to check my soundcard and how to solve this problem?

I know, though, about the 3GB limit of a 32bit system(I hear people say that Vista 32 utilizes (NOT recognize, but UTILIZE) 4GB of RAM, but I have yet to see any evidence that supports that, so I will stick to the idea that 3GB is the limit) I know that the 3GB=System RAM+Video RAM. I install 1 Nvdia 8800GT 512mb video card. System RAM reads 2.5GB. 3GB of System RAM-the 512 of the video card=2.5GB. goody gumdrops. I insall the 2nd Nvidia 8800GT 512 video card and enable SLI.System RAM reads 1.5GB? Shouldn't it read 2.0GB?? 3GB of System RAM-512 for card 1-512 for card 2=2.0...not 1.5...??? Where did the missing 500mb go? AND IF Vista 32 is supposed to be able to utilize 4GB, then shouldn't my RAM read 3.5 before SLI and 3.0 after SLI??? I have built and rebuilt, installed and reinstalled and I still come up with the same thing no matter what I try.
Re-installed Ultimate: Remote Control Wont Work Anymore
May 24, 2008I have this remote control,I just re-installed VIsta Ultimate, and now this remote control is not working anymore.. it was working fine before I did the re-install..it comes w/no driver, so short of disconnecting and connecting the transmitter again to a USB port not sure what more I can do.. it used to work fine not just with Windows Media Center but also with Rhapsody and other stuff, now it does not work at all... I just put new batteries in it... when I press a button on the remote the green light on the remote goes on and the red light on the transmitter also goes on.. so it's definitely not a battery problem..
(I know there's another, more specialized ng for this question in microsoft.public.windows.vista hierarchy, but I'm posting thru google now and can't find that group (posting thru google for now b/c also have not been able to retrieve all prefs/info (i.e., passwords) for my news client (Thunderbird).
Random Freezing: Re-installed, Windows, And It Froze After I Installed The Chipset Driver
Mar 30, 2008My vista keeps locking up after various amounts of time, no matter whether its just idling, or im making the computer work hard. As ive read on other topics, I think its a driver issue, but I just dont know what to do. I will try another fresh vista install tomorrow and get the vista updates quickly to see whether that helps the situation. I have ensured it isnt overheating like it did initially when I bought the system, and it is now a safe and low temperature in a running state. Also, it only detects 3.5Gb of the 4Gb of RAM I have in my system. PC Spec:
Ive re-installed, windows, and it froze after I installed the chipset driver. I contiuned, and found a sound driver wasnt digitally signed. However it still crashes. I have got the latest drivers for it. For it to crash, all i did was open recycle bin, from idle state.
SP1: Installed Updates It Shows A Windows Defender Update Installed Today
Mar 23, 2008I shouldn't be surprised but here goes....I checked today for SP1 on windows update.. According to my computer no updates available however updates were last installed on 03/13/08 and yet when you look at installed updates it shows a windows defender update installed today. I have been reading several posts on this problem and have noticed that Carey Frisch posted a link to troubleshoot and now here is a problem and that is none of these apply to me... Once again Go figure!! Running Vista Business 32bit here in the good old USA and of course the English versionVista is and has always been updated right on schedule....

Jun 29, 2009let me start this nightmare story i had just done a fresh restalled and spent hours on getting everything installed on pc all was fine working perfectly untill that is i installed vista service pack 1 from windows updates the update process crashed halfway through so i had the only option to restart my pc then came the blue screen of death and it metioned if you have any new hardware installed make sure all drivers are installed etc etc of course i know it wasnt hardware it was because of me restating my pc half way threw the service pack 1 and the full files not been installed threw the update process crashed was the reason for the blue screen but the blue screen had notes advising me to clear shadow memory in the bois and any other memory so i stupidly assumed this was channel mapping and bank mapping and put them all to zero please see jpeg of what i changed i basically disabled everything that was enabled and put all the mapping channels and bank channels to zero and now when i switch on my laptop i get a blank screen with no post no ...........

May 28, 2008I have tried to send vcf and excel spreadsheets from work email to my windows mail but no luck. The file size of the mail shows it's there - e.g. 56 kb, but I can't access the attachment. Mar 23, 2008I am running Vista and Windows Mail.I have 3 Embark.com contacts that does not receive mail sent from Windows mail. I can send from Web Mail using my same address and they receive. Embarq and Road Runner have not found the problem. They say there is no blocks on either end. I do not get any bounce backs or errow messages when mail is sent. I have sent test to all of 35 contacts and all receive except the Embarq.com contacts. I have corresponded with these Embarq contacts for 1-2 years with no problem until mid February. Then something closed the gate. Road Runner has traced the mail and it appears as if the contact received the mail but he didn't.

Mar 26, 2008I am running Windows Vista home edition and when I receive my email using Windows Mail, it says it is receiving the email ok but then it all disappears. There are no messages in the inbox or any other folder. I tested that my email is getting to my mailbox on my ISP'S server by using their webmail. I have had people send me test messages and they
all show up in the mailbox. After I start up Windows mail and it says it is receiving "n" messages and then they disappear, I logged back onto my webmail and all the mail is gone so I know it is being sent to my PC.
Can anyone help with this problem? I have no idea where the messages are going to, they just seem to disappear. I hav uninstalled the antivirus program that I had because I thought maybe it had something to do with it but that did not do any good. I have no other firewalls or anything running on the PC outside of what comes with Vista.
Windows Mail Can't Received
May 28, 2009i could not receive emails to windows mail but i managed to view them via yahoo. got error code 0x800CC0F. i looked up possible problems and downloaded live mail. now the opposite is happening and i keep receiving the same emails over and over again. error code now is 0x800CCC19. i have avg antivirus and have turned off email scanner without any effect. is this an issue with the server? can i do anything else to stop these emails?

I then sent a test email and copied myself. I received the copy but again the recipient didn't. My pal then sent an email to a number of his friends requesting a reply and he received replies from all of them. So it seems that he is receiving emails from everyone except me and I'm sending emails to everyone except him. I should state that this has only happened within the last week, up until then I had been sending emails to this address without any problems.

May 10, 2008I recently bought a new (actually a 2 or 3 yr. old Compaq) computer and it has Vista Home OS. I used the Microsoft transfer program and successfully moved most data to new PC. (Old PC was XP), However, I am having problems with mail. I use an older Outlook and I cannot send now but I can receive emails. I tried Windows mail and it will not open. I also used Outlook Express on my old computer. Emails Not Received By Recipient
May 30, 2008Whenever I send out an email with a picture or any kind of attachment including word documents through Windows mail, it says the email was sent, but it isn't being recieved by the recipient. Then I get a Norton symantec pop up saying this problem does not occur often, their support team have not been able to reproduce the error, and it also says that the error message is actually caused by a problem on the cpu itself. When I clicked the "run it now" button to run a Symantec administrative tool it states that I must be logged into an administrative account to complete this action, but I am! The only info it gave was this: Module 1003, Error ID 9, Build Symantec. I have Norton Antivirus 2007 and I ran a full scan and I don't have a virus. I'm about to throw this cpu out the friggin' window! Is there anyone out there who knows why it's doing this? My last resort is to bring it in to the geek squad to see if they can fix it.
