Is there a way to delete "failed install of updates" I have the most updated version of the driver. it installed a few times B4; now it won't, error code states already installed or not compatible
View 5 RepliesEverything is working fine (so far) except that it does not recognize integrated Ethernet adapter at all. On advise of support guys did driver reinstall several time including while in Safe Mode. Even restored factory settings i.e. reinstalled OS. If I run "pnputil -e" then the adapter package is listed but the adapter just does not show up in Device Manager.
Already verified that it is enabled in BIOS. Netgear USB adapter worked just fine after installing vista driver for it. Thinking of putting in a PCI card but that will occupy one slot. Only 3 PCI slots are available - standard, Express 1 and Express 16.
I have been getting the BSOD for like a year now, but only frequently has it really been bothering me, it has happened 4 times today...

One usb ethernet adapter for internet connection through an old router, one for a Linksys Wireless G router hard wired to remote security cameras sums up the problem where one cancels the other out. This is a problem for XP, Vista, and even 7 beta while the primary system still runs XP. The dsl connection is through an old dsl setup using a usb adapter while the Linksys pci adapter card or usb adapter once installed becomes the default network adapter.
The wireless router itself is plugged with the RJ-45 ethernet adapter directly into the main controller/dvr box for live wireless feed to the main XP system or this one as a second means along with direct plug in to a tv set in the room where the main box is located. In XP, Vista, and even the later 7 beta the same problem of running two adapters without conflict is the main question needing a working solution. This thread is intended to tax the most network familar people here.
The landlord runs the main XP system with eventual plans to upgrade to Vista while this system serves as a testing machine a good deal of the time explaining multiple OSs as a rule. The router and adapters are in working order not seeing any defects while canceling the original dsl adapter out when installed. That takes out the online connection in the process.

i uninstalled it and wanted to reinstalle it but i did not copy down which one it was,
i did researse on my computer and foud four intel (R)/pro wireless 2200BG nectwok connection and others .
my question is which was the one a deleted or which is the one i need to reinstall to be compatible with my pc.
I am still trying to get some help for this. In Device Manager, under Network Adapters I get a list of 20 approx items all with yellow triangle warnings (apart from 2). The first ones are Microsoft 6to4 Adapters. Info says drivers are up to date,but I get an error code 31. Details: Message "This device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device" (Code 31). Have checked for solutions, but says there are none. I get similar warnings for the other 20 items shown. What do I do now please? (I am using an Acer laptop, with Vista Ultimate OS)

View 6 Replies View RelatedEverytime I reboot the laptop I loose the ability to connect to the internet although the laptop confirms a connection to the wireless network router.I click "Diagnose this connection" and choose "Automatically get new IP Settings for the network adapter" I have internet connectivity restored.
The laptop is an HP dv6755ca, less then one week old, and has been checked to be sure all drivers and updates have been installed. I have run anti-virus and checked for malware/spyware. The network setup is 1. PC connected via ethernet, 1. wireless laptop and 1. smc8014w-g wireless gateway.
Although the setup was walked through with me by the technician (over the phone) I'm not yet ruling out a faulty set-up in the 192.168.0.1 site [except that I have had no issues with the wired connection].
I have several notebooks with Windows Vista Business 32 installed. After wakeup from sleeping mode, is necessary to reset network adapter to get to the internet. Otherwise only local network is reachable. I disabled power off of network adapter during sleep mode, Disabled IP6. I tried to install KB933872 but installation end because KB is not for my operating system.

The green bar will cycle through about two to three times, but then it stops moving. It moves forward just a little bit every 5 minutes though, so if I leave it like that for about 40 minutes then Vista will be able to boot to my desktop. And when I try to restart my computer, it just stays at the 'Shutting Down" screen forever. The longest I've let the shutting down screen just stay there was 20 minutes. I had to cut the power. So I turned my laptop on today and for some reason it would not connect to the internet. I thought it might be the router so I rebooted that and still no luck. When troubleshooting it says; "This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured" So immediately I think the driver or my adapter has been uninstalled. If your wondering what my adapter was its; Nvidia nForce Networking Controller (x64 Windows Ultimate) I went on there website and found the driver, installed it and still nothing. I'm trying to enable it for ICS to/with a windows XP Pro computer. The other computer (XP) is not auto configuring itself with the right type of network settings. (IP, Subnet mask, & Gateway) For instance: it will configure itself to use 169.254.37.72, 255.255.0.0 instead of 192.168.0.(2-255), 255.255.255.0, and Default Gateway of 192.168.0.1.
View 4 Replies View Related1. My network has ALWAYS failed upon RESUME FROM SLEEP using a WIRELESS connection via a NETGEAR WN121T wireless-N USB 2.0 adapter, but NOT when using a wired Ethernet connection.
2. It also works perfectly from BOOT via the WN121T wireless connection with my NETGEAR DG834N draft 802.11n (and another 802.11g) wireless modem/router on Windows Vista Ultimate, both with and without the SP1 Release Candidate.
3. But upon resumption from SLEEP, the wireless n/w connection has ALWAYS failed: attempting to re-connect to the network fails, and Device Manager reports for the WN121T that ???Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (code 43)???.
4. The only remedy is to REBOOT.

My board is an Asus P5QC...the most unstable board I have ever owned... Anyway, I got this board since November and it was not running it's best but the I had the basics running. In the past 3 months, I have re-installed Vista 9 times I was blaming Vista, but I notice that my BIOS for some weird reason is not displaying some option that I had before. Now my network adapter will not function properly. I tried my old driver and the latest drivers, I installed it the way it is suppose to be installed and well...no success.
I tested all my cat 5 and they are all in good condition. My router is functionning well, seeing that my other computers are working.
I started to have problems with Local Area Connection in Vista, during logon there was two networks identified, one that I had set up and one unrecognized. This was a problem, because it disrupted the DHCP discovery. I have read here that many have the same problem, but so far haven't been able to pinpoint the cause. My solution was to try to disable the network connection and enable it. This seemed to work sometimes, but once I rebooted the machine, the whole network adapter had disappeared from device manager. I tried re-installing the driver but Vista doesn't seem to recognize it. How do I get Vista to install it back?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a issue with my Linksys wireless USB adapter. I am trying to use it with Vista Home Premium. After installing software... I plug the adapter in (like directions say) and windows update goes to work. It updates the driver, installs correctly, I then connect to my home network and all is good. My prob is for some reason I lose internet and the USB adapter itself. One time I switched users and lost all. I have tried uninstalling adapter and tried reinstalling by pointing to my D drive (install CD) in hopes of using the driver that's on the installation CD. as soon as it saw everything.. windows update once again gave me the same buggy driver. I have tried to install with UAC disabled... no luck... the Linksys website/support for drivers has the same updated driver. I tried to use an older one but Windows keeps forcing this updated one down my
throat.
I got a Nvidia 8400GS When i got the PC but brought a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 / 1GB / PCI Express 2.0 / Graphics Card. My brother took out the Nvid card and then formated the PC to make sure that all drivers where uninstalled then put the ATI card in. In divice manager under dispaly adapters there is standard VGA Graphics Adapter and further down the page there is "Other Divices" with Video controller. When it installs these some times the standard VGA Graphics Adapter fail but the video controller succeed but with error. saying. "Incompatable display Adapter has been disabled. At least one display adapter on the system has been disabled because its not compatible with the driver for the VGA adapter". lso i carnt change the resolution above 1024X768. Also my Graphic card is a Sapphier brand but in the windows update its looking for ATI Technologies Inc. - Display - ASUS EAH3870X2 Series

I seem to never use the battery as I am always plugged in somewhere. It seems like if I have a long update on a slower connection like anti-virus or windows update the computer shuts down after awhile. I am thinking these updates are not finishing. I would be working on my business and my connection would be very very slow. They suddenly it would spead up to a good usable speed. I noticed that after I got a message that an update had finally finished that matched me finally being able to work. I want to know how to keep Vista from shutting down and allow updates and downloads to complete while I am asleep so when I am at the computer I can work. I have a ton to learn.

I reconnected my computer and i know everything is correctly plugged in but my audio isn't working i can't hear a thing.
I am on Vista Home premium
And I'm using Realtek High Definition Audio
When i check the Sound settings everything is High and maxed out nothing is on mute and it shows that my speakers are emitting noise.
After installing SP2 I noticed that Windows had replaced my Realtek HD Audio driver with its own older version. It also now appears twice in the Device Manager; I can remove one of them with no ill effects but it is redetected at next boot and reinstalled. So I removed both of them, installed the latest Realtek driver and rebooted. Now I still have two instances - one (called Realtek High Definition Audio) with the Realtek driver and the other (simply called High Definition Audio Device) with the Microsoft drivers. If I force the Microsoft one to use the Realtek drivers it crashes horribly with a BSoD (so I won't be doing that again!).
Once again I can remove the Microsoft one with no ill effects but it's redetected and installed again on the next boot.Something in my memory tells me I always had two entries under 'Sound, Video and game controllers' but the second one wasn't called "High Definition Audio Device" and the Driver Provider was Realtek, not Microsoft. Trouble is, I can't remember what it was called, or what it was for. I could always do a System Restore to pre-SP2 and find out that way but it's probably worth finding out here first whether I'm worrying about nothing or not. It seems I've got two components of the same chip with drivers from different releases.
I can't get the the audio to work (at all) on Vista x64. I went from XP to Windows 7 that didn't work out because I couldn't find any audio drivers that worked. So I decided to switch to Vista for the time being, same thing no audio. I've tried installing the chipset and several versions of the audio drivers (RealTek). I've checked device manager and it detects it and shows it's working fine (even get the green bars when music plays).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a GA-73PVM-S2H motherboard with onboard Realtek HD Audio. I have a 2.1 speaker set up which has two small front speakers and one subwoofer. Until last night I had a Guitarport which is a kinda external sound card which i use for playing the guitar (its pretty cool). Anyway, i took this out and plugged the speaker lead back into my PC but since then i cannot get any sound out of the speakers. When i look at the Realtek Panel and get it to look like my set up, when i do the test thing on the speakers NO sound comes out at all. However, when i set it up to have REAR speakers i can hear the test sound but it comes out of the front speakers and when i play an MP3 i can hear the music REALLY QUIET as if it is the sound that would normally be coming out of the rear speakers which i do not have. It sounded to me like i had connected the speakers up incorrectly but there is only one lead and it is definately in the right 'hole' and i tried it in all the other 'holes' too but still not working.

I have 4 speakers plus a subwoofer, so I set it as 5.1 speakers and unchecked the button for a center speaker in the manager so that it won't make my sub act as a center. However, on the back of my desktop, the jack for the sub is also the jack for the center speaker. So, whenever I listen to my music, it won't use my sub, but if I check the option for having a center speaker, it tries to make my sub act as a center speaker, which makes it sound awful.
View 6 Replies View Relatedfirstly, apologies for not so great english and especially for not being very computer savvy. my issue is that the audio fades in and out of hp pavilion a6010n desktop pc, windows vista home premium, sp1, 32-bit os. i always use headphones plugged directly into the front of the tower, and my lcd monitor has built-in panel speakers. this problem has been constant since i purchased the pc in august of 2007, but will resolve itself periodically sometimes for a few weeks or even a few months.
i have noticed that it most often happens upon start up and even often affects the boot up windows noises. then, if i open windows media player or anything else with audio (Internet videos, yahoo! news videos, etc.) the sound in my headphones will fade in and out from one ear to the other - usually (but not always) it is the left ear that loses audio, but lately both have done this. this will happen immediately after starting up, then usually reslove itself after anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour - then all will work well again...........
I bought a new computer with this configuration:INTEL G31/1600Mhz/asrock Intel® Dual-Core E5200-2.53GHZ-2MB-800FSB/45Nm Memory 2 GB Kingston onboard Sound card: Realtek High Definition Audio I installed Windows Vista Business x32 bit and everything is working properly except the sound card, I can hear music but it sounds so bad. I have 2 front and 2 rear speakers that worked great with my old computer (also with onboard realtek sound card) so I guess the speakers are not the problem. Let me tell you exactely how the sound sounds like.
I put Madonna, Fever song (which is a good one..)(MP3) and I bearly hear her voice... when her background vocals start screaming I can hear them bettter the the main vocal. It's like the front speakers and the rare swithced, but they didn't - from the Realtewk Audio Manager when I test the sound everything is ok.. I mean the front sound comes from the front speakers and the rare sound from the rare ones. I also tried to change the speaker configuration from 5.1 speakers to stereo and to quadraphonic but the sound is the same - only background voices!
I'm sure this has been dealt with, but I had my realtek HD installed perfectly fine and I deleted tunebite because I don't use it anymore and what do you know, my sound claims to be installed but when I open volume mixer it says no audio is detected. Does this mean I should try an OS reinstall? I tried three different realtek drivers and none have solved the problem.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn my status bar, pop ups continued to pop up, stating that i just unplugged a device from the driver, then it would tell me i plugged it back in, all the time doing nothing remotely close to these insane accusations, i continued without really worrying about it. until i actually lost my sound, and it went crazy with those pop ups. so i uninstalled the driver, reboot, installed new driver from realtek, and it worked for like 4 hours, then no sound again. uninstalled driver, reboot, install, reboot, no sound, and i am apparently continuously unplugging the jack like a madman. so, another uninstall, reboot, but this time i install the driver from the cd i got with my pc (dell inspiron 530s-120b)......................
View 4 Replies View RelatedAlright, i had a problem trying to Enable realtek audio from the Sound Hardware list from Control panel. After an hour of hunting and freaking out constantly, I found a solution that was looking at me in the face the whole time, I feel kinda stupid.
To Fix - Goto Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Right click anywhere in this screen > Show disabled devices > Left-click speakers > properties > Device Usage > Enable.
