I'm facing problems with my internet connection in my vista. I'm trying to connect internet thro usb cable of my mobile as i've taken subscription of mobile connect. It used to work fine but now it shows as limited connectivity. In pc suite it shows as connected but cant connect to internet. I've tried all best possible options to check the connectivity.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI m trying to resolve limited internet connectivity via ICS. My Vista 64bit Ultimate notebook connects directly to a wireless network, from which it gets internet connectivity. I can visit any webpage and see all network devices, so things seem to be working great on the server side.
My other computer, the ICS client, runs 32bit XP pro and is set up to connect to the internet through my notebook. Between the two PCs is a spare buffalo WHR-HP-G54. I can see all network devices, but it fails to connect to most websites. It will display Google and *some* pages from Time Warner Cable, but I cannot get to Wiki pages, my favorite forums, or download updates for anything on my desktop PC. Based on the status bar of my browser, which usually gets as far as "Transferring data from ", it seems the communication problem is limited to incoming streams........
The computer starts up with wireless networking and wireless connection working fine. At some seemingly random time (usually a few hours) my connection status will go from "local and internet" to "limited connectivity" with the little yellow warning icon. I try disconnecting and reconnecting, it can't connect. I turn off and on the adapter using the on-keyboard button, it says it is going "off" then "on" but connection is not restored. "Repair" attempts fail immediately, with no explanation given, it just says it can't connect.
I can't ping any IP address or websites, I get "host unreachable" messages. The only solution is to restart, at which point everything is fine. Note that in this time when the wireless is not functioning, I can plug in an ethernet cable and be connected to the internet just fine. I know there are several threads like this on the vista forums, but the postmaster recommended a new thread so i am kindly obliging. I have the same ****ty problem many before me have had. One peeerty day I turned on my Vista comp, and all of a sudden my wireless connection had stopped working. Limited or no connectivity was the message I got. So I fired up my notebook, running with XP - same thing. Limited or no connectivity. Only when I did diagnose problem on my XP it did precisely that. and the problem was gone............

When I'm downloading something my internet stops working, downloads top and it says limited or no connectivity - so I have to disconnect from the network, unplug the USB Adapter and then re-plug it in and then it connects.

It did automatic updates and since then has connection problem reporting "limited Connectivity" what does this mean and how can I cure this problem? View 9 Replies View RelatedAbout 3 days ago I was downloading a file when I noticed the download had stopped half-way through. Thinking the router had frozen I unplugged the router to reset it, as I have done a hundred times before with no problem. After restarting the router Vista (Home Premium 32-bit SP1) stopped recognizing my home network (wired) and I started receiving a "Limited Connectivity" message. When I go into the Network & Sharing screen I see "Unknown Network". When I boot this same computer into Ubuntu (7.10) I can access my network and the internet. I also have a small Ubuntu server and Xbox 360 that can access the network just fine. This is definitely a Vista issue. After trying many, many suggestions (Unplug router, Reset router, IP refresh,...) from around the internet with no success, I purchased a new PCI Ethernet card (Netgear GA311) just to rule out a possible hardware issue. I unistalled the onboard lan in Vista and disabled it in the BIOS then installed the new card. No Luck, Same Problem. My router is a Netgear FWG114P. I have had this network for over a year with no issues and now, out of the blue, nothing. I tried re-entering the IP, Subnet, Default Gateway and DNS addresses for the ethernet adapter, NO LUCK. I did notice a strange issue when I ran "Ipconfig /all" The default gateway was shown as "0.0.0.0". After re-entering the gateway address, the gateway was listed as "0.0.0.0" with my gateway address listed below.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am one of the many users experiencing problems with wireless connections that work until your laptop goes into powersave mode, then only allow "Limited or No Connectivity" I have 2 wireless routers, a Linksys and ActionTec, supplied by Verizon with FiOS and Linksys has helped me a couple of times to make it work but that is all. Verizon is clueless. As am I since I have 4 XP laptops that all work. Vista is apparently trying to prevent me from hurting myself, and therefore I am unable to fix it.

My internet connection seems to be working correctly. I've tried resetting my Linksys router, removed and reinstalled Norton Internet Security 2008, upgraded my NIC drivers, (I'm using an ASUS P5K Deluxe motherboard with built-in networking.), tried the Network repair options, etc.

Then, out of the blue, I get a "limited connectivity" message even though the signal strength is excellent. Our wireless network is the only one that's listed "connect automatically" and we were connected to it yesterday and this morning with no problems.

I was able to connect to the network before, but I think I accident;y changed something. It is now showing my network as a public network. It continually says "Identifying. Public Network)" in the Network and Sharing Center. Access is Limited connectivity. Also I am NOT able to access the Customize link in the NaS Center like I was before.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been having this issue with Vista for over a year now. I just recently reformatted my machine AND bought a new PCI network card (I thought maybe the problem might be related to the onboard network port/driver) and the issue still persists.
This is a nasty one. My network connection simply cuts out at random times. By random I mean I'll be connected between 15 or so minutes to up to 2 or 3 days before the problem occurs. My network icon down in the task tray will show a yellow exclaimation with the message "limited network connectivity." The only way to fix this is to reboot. What's worse is that there are no errors in thrown in any of the Event Viewer logs.
From time to time, specially when I`m doing heavy uploads or heavy downloads my connection goes from full internet to "Local Only" or "Limited Connectivity". Thus, all internet access is lost until I reset the connection (disconnect and connect again). When the connection is reset, the problem is solved and the issue is fixed, that is, until it happens again a few hours or days later.
I`ve found out that this is quite an usual problem for all Vista users, most of my friends have this same problem and I`ve seen hundreads of posts in the internet about it, but no solutions were found. I`m running Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit on a HP dv7-1245dx notebook. I have another PC which also runs Vista 64bit, two notebooks and a PC that run WinXP.
From all of these machines, only the ones running Vista are affected, I do not have this problem with the machines running WinXP. All machines are wireless (connected through WIFI) but the PC running WinXP. I`ll use my main notebook as the scenario for troubleshooting. ...........
I'm using windows vista home premium 32bit on my HP dv6226tx with latest updates installed. I'm having strange problem of connectivity frequently. After i browse for some duration or open more tabs, i dont know which reason, i can't open any website other then google,gmail.. Though i can connect and browse any site at same time on my ipodtouch. Both interner explorer as well as google chrome doesnt open any site when such happens but google,gmail works.. After i restart pc, it works again.. sometimes if i wait and dont restart, it starts working and again stops mostly.

Now, the internet connectivity is intermittent i.e. I am connected to the internet for about 5 seconds before it gets disconnected. I get the connectivity again after a few seconds before it gets disconnected.
Now, I started using the uTorrent application after which I got prolonged connectivity. From the past few days, whenever I need uninterrupted internet I need to turn on the uTorrent application. It is quite strange that I am the only one who needs to do this while the others in my house (who have similar laptops) do not face any problem. Is there any way to detect what exactly is happening and how I can resolve this uTorrent workaround?
I have been having a problem for a couple of weeks now. Everything on my other computer was working fine, when all of a sudden, there wasn't any connectivity on my other computer. When I checked the connection status, it had the red X but gave me an Error 1068 (Dependency service or group failed to start). The strange thing is that it happened now, since before I still had that red X displayed, but I got connectivity. But now, on to the real concern.
I have tried many methods on the Internet with no success. I have gone to services and tried to start the Network Awareness Locator Service to no avail. I have run the SFC checker and if flagged on file (npmproxy.dll). When I found an "updated" version that was supposed to be fine, it did absolutely nothing. I have tried replacing that file with no avail. What is the latest version of this file and why is my connectivity not back?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just installed an OEM windows vista home premium onto my computer so that I could take advantage of my 6GB ram. Unfortunately I don't know too much about building systems and I have an internet problem. After I installed the OS, when I plug my computer into my router, I always recieve "unidentified network..limited or no connectivity". I've done everything that the internet company has asked me to do as far as my modem/router is concerned, and Acer wants to charge me a buttload for their help.
Am I missing something simple that I need to do with my 64 bit software? I downloaded the 64 bit drivers for my LAN, audio etc from the acer website but it seems to still do no good. I even downloaded the driver directly from my Lan ethernet controllers brand website. I've been stuck here for days without much help and the wierd thing is that my girlfriend can plug her computer (32 bit vista home premium) right into the router and it connects fine. I'm downloading SP2 now if that makes any difference.

I am running Vista Home premium, IE8, Firefox 3.5.3, AVG free and Zonealarm. On starting the PC there is no problem connecting to the internet through either browser or updating email (Windows Mail).

Loss of internet connection via IE and/or Firefox whilst Mail can still send/receive. I have tried clearing the cache etc but the only thing that works is re-booting the laptop (Dell XPS 1330).
I mainly browse with IE but downloaded Firefox in case IE was the problem. One or the other will lose connection first then the other will follow.
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. I am connecting to the internet through a router with one other computer connected to the router as well. I am having a problem in that after the computer has been on for a few hours it will no longer connect to web sites. Either the progress bar stops or I get the "web site cannot be found" type of message. I usually use IE7 but when this start I find that Firefox cannot connect either.
After rebooting the computer all is OK again for a few hours. After the problem starts I can ping the web sites with OK responses and the other computer on the router has no problems connecting to the same web sites. HijackThis, spyware and virus checker all show no apparent infestations. Nothing untoward in the hosts file.
We bought a new dlink Gigabyte unmanaged switch,installed it and now the vista machines connects fine to the network but not to the internet. if i go ipconfig /release and /renew it works for a bit but then goes down again. The Windows XP machines are working perfect to the network and internet. What Can cause this problem with vista.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy laptop (gateway) can connect to any network (public, private, wired or wireless) with no problem but no matter what it cannot connect to the internet. I've tried as much as possible but nothing resolves this error and my isp says because my other computers work fine they can't help me. I've recycled the router and the modem, tried to ping the router (unsuccessful), tried manually setting up my connection (ip address, dns, gateway), bought a new router (belkin enhanced wireless), bought a express card ethernet port, reset winsock, but nothing works! I honestly don't know what to do since this laptop didn't include a vista disc so i don't think i can wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows without paying for something i already have. If you need any further info just let me know i'll be checking my internet every hour as i'm at the end of my rope!
On the network connections page it shows an uninterrupted line to the network which it always says is unidentified (even networks with names) but there's always a red x preventing me from getting to the internet and when i do the auto repair and diagnose it tells me to call the isp or get help from a network administrator. This problem occured shortly after my norton 360 subscription ran out and i uninstalled it to install avira in it's place.
I have a Inspiron 350 and the Router is NETGEAR G-Wireless WGR61v10. My problem is since I had a reformat on the computer. It would not connect to the internet in fact it said Local or limited connection before I changed the channel where now lets me go on Google and surf is very limited and very slow. I can't log into my programs like MSN and Skype and only logs in when I restart the computer and drops the connection again. I would like to know how to unblock the connection so I can do everything again. I am just really frustrated and would like to know if there is a solution to get the net up and running again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedBare with me, I am a bit computer illiterate. . .I use a linksys router (I don't exactly know what type/version, but I doubt that matters when I have connected to older models, I believe). However, the only reason why my internet will not connect seems to be that I have encrypted my router with a WEP key! I say this because I can connect to unsecured routers just fine.
I have tried connecting manually, and it will accept the WEP key I type in (well, it doesn't tell me I'm wrong). . . But once I finish typing in the WEP and checking the two option boxes (start this connection automatically, connect even if the network is not roadcasting) and try and connect (to the existing network), it says I cannot connect. I am just wondering if it's something simple. . . Making a new WEP key, perhaps? I really have no clue and I would like to figure this out soon.
1) I was online and suddenly I wasnt able to connect to the internet. I called my IP provider and they told me that I could "ping" but couldn't connect to the domain name, I have run a dianostic tool which said I had no dial tone but had local area connection. I went step by step with my IP provider and we still couldnt get it to work.
2) Last night I went to open a zip file using Zipeg (never had any problems til then) and now on the desktop all my programs are opening with notepad, I cannot access my files on the desktop. When I open the files, I get a notepad with all these symbols and numbers and thats it!
I had someone move into my old office & his computer (Dell, Vista Home, 1gbRam, 160GBhd, nVidia network controller) is now going to be the one wired directly into the router & modem with the rest of the 3 comps in the house getting wireless signal as they had been for the past 2 years. When I first plugged his comp in & installed the Netgear router from the disk, the install screwed up in that his comp was getting the internet cause it was plugged via ethernet, but the rest of the house couldn't cause there was no wireless signal. Also shown by the wireless light not being on on the router, but all the other were, power, LAN port4, & internet.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy laptop (Vista Ultimate x64) got hit by a malware recently, removed it and is now clean. But after cleaning (malwarebytes) and doing a registry repair (using advanced systemcare pro), i was not able to connect to the internet. When i checked Device, the "Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)" had a yellow astrix to it. I tried uninstalling the driver and re-installing the driver from the cd. But still the yellow astrix remains and the internet does not work. I tried uninstalling the driver - rebooting - reinstalling - rebooting - still same result. let me know what i should do to make the internet work. I really don't want to do a reinstall of the OS again - have a lot of programs and would be a pain to reinstall each of them.

The error i get is " firewall is running between the 2 computers and is blocking the domain. Windows firewall on this computer is correctly configured to allow this connection, however a remote firewall might be blocking ur connectioin"
