I'm using windows vista home premium 32bit on my HP dv6226tx with latest updates installed. I'm having strange problem of connectivity frequently. After i browse for some duration or open more tabs, i dont know which reason, i can't open any website other then google,gmail.. Though i can connect and browse any site at same time on my ipodtouch. Both interner explorer as well as google chrome doesnt open any site when such happens but google,gmail works.. After i restart pc, it works again.. sometimes if i wait and dont restart, it starts working and again stops mostly.
I have a Dell inspiron 1545(vista 32-bit) and the internet connectivity is really annoying..!! It gets disconnected frequently showing limited connnectivity and then gets connected automatically in a few seconds. i tried to unbind the ipv6..but still no good results. i am not tech savvy.
I have a local network with 4 Vista boxes and one XP box, and despite all of our efforts the internet crashes frequently and the router needs to be reset. The XP machine says that it is still connected during these times, but there is no data transfer.I am absolutely positive that this is an operating system-related issue because not only have we swapped out all of the cables, but we've also purchased a new router, and switched from local internet service to cable with absolutely no change in performance. This would be fine if it were one computer but all of the computers seem to crash simultaneously and we end up needing to unplug and replug in the router to get it to work. We've made a whole variety of changes in regards to our router setup etc, but I'm very convinced that the situation lies at the computer level.
I have 2 laptops that are running Vista and get this message numerious times. I also have 2 Windows XP pc's on the same network. Why do the Vista pc's keep having this issue. My Linksys wireless router is setup with no restictions so I can get this problem fixed.
I am facing a strange problem with my HP Dv6705 laptop running on Vista Professional. I have a Wi-fi router configured for internet access. Now, the internet connectivity is intermittent i.e. I am connected to the internet for about 5 seconds before it gets disconnected. I get the connectivity again after a few seconds before it gets disconnected.
Now, I started using the uTorrent application after which I got prolonged connectivity. From the past few days, whenever I need uninterrupted internet I need to turn on the uTorrent application. It is quite strange that I am the only one who needs to do this while the others in my house (who have similar laptops) do not face any problem. Is there any way to detect what exactly is happening and how I can resolve this uTorrent workaround?
I m trying to resolve limited internet connectivity via ICS. My Vista 64bit Ultimate notebook connects directly to a wireless network, from which it gets internet connectivity. I can visit any webpage and see all network devices, so things seem to be working great on the server side.
My other computer, the ICS client, runs 32bit XP pro and is set up to connect to the internet through my notebook. Between the two PCs is a spare buffalo WHR-HP-G54. I can see all network devices, but it fails to connect to most websites. It will display Google and *some* pages from Time Warner Cable, but I cannot get to Wiki pages, my favorite forums, or download updates for anything on my desktop PC. Based on the status bar of my browser, which usually gets as far as "Transferring data from ", it seems the communication problem is limited to incoming streams........
I have been having a problem for a couple of weeks now. Everything on my other computer was working fine, when all of a sudden, there wasn't any connectivity on my other computer. When I checked the connection status, it had the red X but gave me an Error 1068 (Dependency service or group failed to start). The strange thing is that it happened now, since before I still had that red X displayed, but I got connectivity. But now, on to the real concern.
I have tried many methods on the Internet with no success. I have gone to services and tried to start the Network Awareness Locator Service to no avail. I have run the SFC checker and if flagged on file (npmproxy.dll). When I found an "updated" version that was supposed to be fine, it did absolutely nothing. I have tried replacing that file with no avail. What is the latest version of this file and why is my connectivity not back?
I'm facing problems with my internet connection in my vista. I'm trying to connect internet thro usb cable of my mobile as i've taken subscription of mobile connect. It used to work fine but now it shows as limited connectivity. In pc suite it shows as connected but cant connect to internet. I've tried all best possible options to check the connectivity.

Loss of internet connection via IE and/or Firefox whilst Mail can still send/receive. I have tried clearing the cache etc but the only thing that works is re-booting the laptop (Dell XPS 1330).
I mainly browse with IE but downloaded Firefox in case IE was the problem. One or the other will lose connection first then the other will follow.
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. I am connecting to the internet through a router with one other computer connected to the router as well. I am having a problem in that after the computer has been on for a few hours it will no longer connect to web sites. Either the progress bar stops or I get the "web site cannot be found" type of message. I usually use IE7 but when this start I find that Firefox cannot connect either. After rebooting the computer all is OK again for a few hours. After the problem starts I can ping the web sites with OK responses and the other computer on the router has no problems connecting to the same web sites. HijackThis, spyware and virus checker all show no apparent infestations. Nothing untoward in the hosts file.
The computer starts up with wireless networking and wireless connection working fine. At some seemingly random time (usually a few hours) my connection status will go from "local and internet" to "limited connectivity" with the little yellow warning icon. I try disconnecting and reconnecting, it can't connect. I turn off and on the adapter using the on-keyboard button, it says it is going "off" then "on" but connection is not restored. "Repair" attempts fail immediately, with no explanation given, it just says it can't connect.
I can't ping any IP address or websites, I get "host unreachable" messages. The only solution is to restart, at which point everything is fine. Note that in this time when the wireless is not functioning, I can plug in an ethernet cable and be connected to the internet just fine. I'm running Vista x64 Home Premium. Vista won't frequently find USB devices that are plugged in. For example, my Blackberry isn't recognized anymore, a Dymo scale, etc. Rebooting hasn't helped. Add Hardware doesn't find anything.
I would like to stop the Vista Welcome Center from appearing on my frequently used programs list on the start menu, and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do it. I manually remove it, and it comes back. I shut off the feature from the start properties and it comes back when I turn it back on. I never use the welcome center and the first time it popped up on the PC ( new) I disabled it...or so I thought
Question is why does it keep reappearing on the list and I do not use it. Is it set to be on the list and how can I stop it. I recall in XP I could disable it on a per program basis, but Vista does not seem to have that feature.
Unlike usual my computer has gone crazy...by that i mean it crashes frequently, laggy, Deep freezes. I fully scanned my computer with Norton 360 and Malwarebytes and didn't find any infections by virus/trojans, also i consult with a Hijack This log analyzer and he gave a green light. when my Vista home premium 32 bit windows explorer stop working frequently. when ever im doing something else in firefox or microsoft office, once i try to click Start button or i click dekstop icon. the whole windows will just freeze and ask me to restart the program(windows explorer). Should I replace the code that used to work with Boot.ini to now use BCD on Windows Vista? If I want to install both XP & Vista on separate partitions, apparently I need to install XP first. During the XP install I have the option of creating 2 partitions don't I? It's my understanding that there can be only 1 primary partition & only the primary partition is bootable. Every other partition is an extended partition. This is what confuses me. XP uses the boot.ini file & is installed first on the primary partition. Won't Vista be installed on an extended partition? Since XP uses the boot.ini file & Vista uses the bcdedit file, which file is used if both XP & Vista are installed in a multiboot configuration? Which would be the default OS? To further complicate matters, suppose that I want to install XP, Vista & Linux. Which of the 3 do I install first since Linux uses a different boot file?
Firefox frequently stops working and this seems to have something to do DEP (Data Execution Prevention) as the DEP icon appears in th system tray after each crash. I have tried to turn off DEP for Firefox but system insists that Firefox must run with DEP on.

One peeerty day I turned on my Vista comp, and all of a sudden my wireless connection had stopped working. Limited or no connectivity was the message I got. So I fired up my notebook, running with XP - same thing. Limited or no connectivity. Only when I did diagnose problem on my XP it did precisely that. and the problem was gone............
My wife's computer is running Windows Vista. The system works fine for almost all purposes. It accesses the Internet successfully through a wireless network card to our home WiFi router. The WiFi connection is fine with a high signal strength. It's connecting to an old DLink 802.11b router using WEP encryption, which is all the router supports. Periodically, on average every few days, she will lose HTTP connectivity. This happens in both IE7 and Firefox 3.08. She can still send and receive email and still use a web browser via HTTPS, but she cannot connect to ordinary web pages on port 80. The problem normally persists until she reboots, at which time connectivity is restored. Two other computers on my home network (one Linux, one XP) are unaffected. They work fine through the same wireless network while my wife's Vista computer is not connecting...............
It's really annoying that when you connect two computers to a WiFi AP and try to copy files between them it takes ages to copy anything and is slow beyond any reason. Even when I connected one of them via wire it's still terribly slow and even freezes from time to time. One of the PCs is XP the other runs 7 Ultimate. I already disabled that thing that checks for connection errors or something but still no joy.
I'm on Vista Ultimate x32. I connect to my internet wirelessly using a Linksys USB adapter. When I'm downloading something my internet stops working, downloads top and it says limited or no connectivity - so I have to disconnect from the network, unplug the USB Adapter and then re-plug it in and then it connects.
My Packard Bell EasyNote MX37-U-05 (Running Vista Home premium) was working fne on a wireless network through a BT Wireless home hub. It did automatic updates and since then has connection problem reporting "limited Connectivity" what does this mean and how can I cure this problem? It seems to be the same if I connect through the Wireless or direct on the hub Lan connection.
i purchased a creative inspire t6100 this summer and i got it to work with my vista home prem x64 for a while, then this past week it just broke on me, what i mean is that i only get stereo quality sound (2 front speakers and center when voice chat is on.) my motherboard is the asus p5q-pro and i am using the onboard sound card which is the realtek hd audio soundcard on 6.0.1.5591 driver version.
now i went into the settings already and configured my speaker system to 5.1 surround sound (thats what i did when i bought my system first and it worked fine.) now it wont work. when i press test however, all my speakers work, so it cant be a connectivity problem. it is just when i use itunes to play music or when i play games, or Internet or whatever, i only hear the 2 front speakers, my sub and rear 2 just dont work, only gives out staticy sounds when u listen to them.
I have strange problem with my PPP connection. I'm using DSL with no router. Suddenly after few hours i'm losing connectivity of both Firefox and IE, i can't open any page. But at same time my Internet connection hasn't dropped. With MS-DOS prompt i have normal ping and tracert to any public host even my 2nd PC(winXP) has internet. In order to go back to normal i have to reboot and then till next time.
I have a laptop running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. It's fairly new (~1 month) and has pretty much had this issue since day 1. If you leave the laptop idle for a "fairly long" period of time, it will lose connectivity to other machines on the local network. It will do it frequently overnight, but not always, so it's hard to pinpoint when/how long.
Here are the symptoms:
-Mapped drives still show up in explorer, but if you click on one, it hangs FOREVER. I have let it try to connect for several hours and it never gets through
-Using UNC gives the same result
-I can still ping other machines on my local network
-I can still access the internet
-Disabling/enabling the network connection does not help
-Once the issue starts, Windows explorer can not be shut down. You can task-manager-> end process all day and it will not die.
-Once the issue starts, Windows can not be shut down. It will hang on the "logging off" screen for literally hours. The only way to recover from this is to do a hard power down by holding the power button for 10 seconds or so.
Well basically last night my internet was running fine and when i woke up to turn it on i got Unidentifed Network - Limited Connectivity, I'm using my laptop's connection which is the same connection way as the other computer so i'm guessing there is somthing wrong with the desktop
I have Vista Home Basic OS with AVG free. This past month a new icon appears in my bottom task bar without any warning or my specific command. It commences to connect to my Internet dialup provider. The PC sends about 15KB, receives about 30KB and then no acitivity. The connection does not disengage after a few minutes of preset inactivity as my standard connection does. Clicking on this icon does not help. It won't respond to a left or right click. The Task Manager shows nothing. How do I eliminate this program? My attachment has an enlarged snapshot of what the icon looks like.
About 3 days ago I was downloading a file when I noticed the download had stopped half-way through. Thinking the router had frozen I unplugged the router to reset it, as I have done a hundred times before with no problem. After restarting the router Vista (Home Premium 32-bit SP1) stopped recognizing my home network (wired) and I started receiving a "Limited Connectivity" message. When I go into the Network & Sharing screen I see "Unknown Network". When I boot this same computer into Ubuntu (7.10) I can access my network and the internet. I also have a small Ubuntu server and Xbox 360 that can access the network just fine. This is definitely a Vista issue. After trying many, many suggestions (Unplug router, Reset router, IP refresh,...) from around the internet with no success, I purchased a new PCI Ethernet card (Netgear GA311) just to rule out a possible hardware issue. I unistalled the onboard lan in Vista and disabled it in the BIOS then installed the new card. No Luck, Same Problem. My router is a Netgear FWG114P. I have had this network for over a year with no issues and now, out of the blue, nothing. I tried re-entering the IP, Subnet, Default Gateway and DNS addresses for the ethernet adapter, NO LUCK. I did notice a strange issue when I ran "Ipconfig /all" The default gateway was shown as "0.0.0.0". After re-entering the gateway address, the gateway was listed as "0.0.0.0" with my gateway address listed below.
I recently bought an hp laptop with windows vista and the wireless netgear router 614 v8. However the connection is always dropping, and usually won't connect after coming out of sleep, it can't be a problem with the router because there are other computers not vista that have no connection problems. Do i need to change any setting on my comp? restarting the router does nothing
Hey guys ive got a Netgear USB wireless adaptor its the WN111. Theres 64 bit drivers for it but I believe they are beta drivers and the card has proven to be unreliable. It constantly disconnects and I get a connection probably 50% of the time.
I am one of the many users experiencing problems with wireless connections that work until your laptop goes into powersave mode, then only allow "Limited or No Connectivity" I have 2 wireless routers, a Linksys and ActionTec, supplied by Verizon with FiOS and Linksys has helped me a couple of times to make it work but that is all. Verizon is clueless. As am I since I have 4 XP laptops that all work. Vista is apparently trying to prevent me from hurting myself, and therefore I am unable to fix it.
