vista is not supporting my drivers...i searched a lot at intels website and google but could not find any solution.. Need the required Graphic drivers or steps to solve this problem..i really cant go for a new PC right now...i heard we can overcome with this problem.
View 9 RepliesSilly me bought CS3 not realising that Adobe was not supporting Vista 64. Have managed to get Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign and Flash working fine. I downloaded the 8.1 Acrobat update today and 'I think' it's working okay but only time will tell.
However, I cannot get Illustrator to install. I've spoken with Adobe about this and they directed me to the kb401401 article and I found out that I was getting the 1401 error. I tried this fix even though it's for XP and it didn't work. Adobe tech support say there's nothing more they can do! how I might be able to get Illustrator to run?
ever since planning on a new pc build i knew at some point that id want to install vista on it. Ive planned to get vista 64 seeing as i have a machine capable of running a 64 bit o/s with ease (when i buy my extra 2gb of ram along with my copy of vista) I have been doing my research on which of my games ill still be able to play & tbh the only ones that im remotely worried about are older than red orchestra so no problems there.
My only real concern is the drivers for my belkin wireless card (f5d7001uk) which doesnt have any vista 32 drivers! But ive heard a rumour that vista automatically installs the drivers itself?? Im also worried that some of the useful little apps i have installed wont install such as winrar, wavepad, deepburner pro 1.8 & punkbuster
While being satisfied by the cool effects and new interface of Windows Vista Codename Longhorn, many of us testers are what you would call "gamers." The lot of us would like to know if gaming on the default Vista Supplemental drivers would mean loss of graphics quality compared to using up to date drivers on a XP OS. For example, I installed Vista and then installed my trusty game, Battlefield 2. I tried using the new nvidia Vista drivers but the game kept crashing when I start it up. So I reinstalled the Vista Supplemental drivers and it happened to work. Quite interesting. I am able to run the game on default vista drivers and not the nvidia vista drivers. Coming to conclusion, would using the vista drivers result in loss of quality and graphics compared to using up to date drivers on a XP system? Or you can also rephrase it; Would gaming be better on the Vista Beta or XP? Does anyone know if SLI works on Vista?

HP Compaq Desktop - Vista Home Premium. Installed Intel Grapfic update (recomended by Microsoft for SP1 installation. Sure enough, SP1 appeared for download....and downloaded successsfully. Everything working good. But.......now, after the computer has been asleep overnight, when I wake it up, the screen resolution has dropped from 1280-1024 to 800-600.
View 7 Replies View RelatedCurrently Windows Vista does not have WDDM support for the Intel GMA950 integrated graphics card. Even though this card is integrated, it supports all of the requirements for Vista Glass. It is just a matter of getting a driver that is compatible with it and vista.
After doing a ton of research, I found that there is another driver that you can actually use for now. There are some problems with it, such if you have a laptop, the external monitor port does not always work but other than that it works great for me on my Lenovo X60.
This is how I got Vista Glass to run on a GMA950:
First, I had to open up device manager. Click on the start menu and type in devmgmt.msc and Enter to load it up.
Once there, expand the Display Adapters section and right click on each device and select Uninstall.
Reboot the computer.
When it restarts, it should install a generic video driver so your screen will still work.
Go back into Device Manager, expand the Display Adapters section again and then right click on the device and select Update Driver.
This time select Browse My Computer for Driver and then Let me pick it from a list.
Go the the Intel section and select the Intel(R) Lakeport Graphics Controller.
Hit OK and install the new driver. Restart your computer.
Once you have rebooted, right click on your desktop and select Personalize again.
Click on Windows Colors and Appearance.
Click on Open classic appearance properties for more color options.
In the Color Scheme box, select Windows Vista Aero.
Hit OK and glass will now load.
If glass does not work for you, go back to Device Manager and ...
I just bought a new puter with Vista Home Prem 64bit. Mcafee suite was installed with 2 years of free service. I used the virtual technician to indicate if everything was working properly. To my surprise there is one error "Process not working". It indicated that C:programfiles (X86)mcafee|virusscan|Mcshield.exe was not working. Is this inidcation just a misdiagnosis from the Virtual Technician because it is set for 32bit? If this indication is correct, do I have real time virus scan protection? Customer support was of no help. I have reinstalled and the same error shows.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the NCP and Kaspersky detected it as a trojan. installed it anyways, as I need it and there is no way to configure it for my NAT/PAT network that we use. I am using the Cisco VPN on my lappy but I need it for vista x64. Cisco is NOT supporting it and the only VPN I have been able to try is NCP. Searches all over the net yield 0 results or bad bandaids like running VMs and rerouting everything. Is there a way to successfully connect using Vista's Built-IN VPN or do i have to downgrade to x86 and loose 1gb of ram?

However, when I tried to transfer my apps so I could avoid installing most of them again, the Easy Transfer Companion program said it would not run on a 64 bit OS. So an MS product (WETC) does not support another MS product, Windows Vista 64-bit?!? How hard is it for them to create a 64-bit version of WETC?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen you have a relatively new OEM product (in this case an NVIDIA motherboard) and the computer manufacturer doesn't seem to care that you are missing Vista drivers, ultimately how do you ever get through to the company? Every time I put this desktop to sleep, when I wake it up there's no Internet connection. I must fully restart the machine each and every time in order to get an Internet connection.
(I'm running a cable modem situation in a home office. I do have a router, but bypassing the router entirely does not change the situation.) The manufacturer has confirmed that this is a motherboard problem (NVIDIA's nForce 680i SLI). More specifically, they say that NVIDIA has not released an updated Vista driver to correct the situation. This situation has been ongoing for at least 8 months. Because the motherboard is an OEM product, NVIDIA won't talk with me directly. The same is true for Microsoft.
Im currently running XP and Ubuntu, however I will be installing Vista x64 in the next few days instead of XP. What I need to know is what drivers I will need to get before I install Vista? Should I get all the drivers now and put them on a cd for when Vista is installed or shall I just install them when Vista has installed? Im not sure what the best way to do it is?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy friend and I have been going back and forth about his computer for a while. When Vista is installed it runs fine. Its not until we add the ATI vista 64 drivers does the machine slow down to a crawl. Originally this was with an x1600xt so we upgraded to the hd2600xt. Same issue. Now comes the weird part. So we got our hands on a single core amd 64 3200+ cpu and put it in. Now the machine runs fine. Why would using a dual core processor slow the machine down significantly. He has set up a dual boot with xp 64 and it runs fine with the x2 processor.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi have a legal vista ultimate license unused on any machine and NOT OEM. i would like to install vista ultimate 64 on a new laptop. it came preinstalled with home premium 32 (the T7500 processor so it can take 64bit). i would like to create a custom install disk containing the OS and the HP vista 64 drivers. I would also like if possible to include some of the pre installed bloatware (I know, I know, I dont want MS works or norton, but I would not mind the HP help system and the system monitors and system update etc).
I have created a recovery disk which contains 6 or 7 .wim files each about the size of a CD. I presume the windows (home premium) as well as all the bloatware and drivers are included in these image files. I installed the WAIK and tried to use to GUI image manager (or whatever it is called) to mount the files but could not. I was able to dir using imageX command line, but was unable to mount the image file or files using imagex /mount rw if i could somehow accomplish this maybe i could build a custom image file with the ultimate 64 and drivers and etc/ I guess an alternative is to use vlite, and HP vista 64 drivers that I download, but I dont know if this would give me the system monitoring tools
I'm running Vista 64 on an AMD 64 Platform. I have the above printer. When I download drivers from Canon's website they are only Intel compatible. Yes, I have looked and re-looked and I'm sure. Canon does not support AMD 64/ Vista 64 for their Drivers (yet). I have tried to go through Device Manager, and there is no printer listed. I have tried to Add Hardware and I get "Restart Printer Spooler". I re-start printer spooler. Still no go. This may seem like a basic question. The Vista Disc, when installed does not have a repair feature like the old XP. How can I get the default printer driver off the disk?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAnytime I do any major hardware upgrade on my computer, I reinstall Vista so I don't have conflicting drivers causing problems. I've had to do that 3 times in the past 7 months or so. (Been rigorously upgrading my computer, lol) This past time when I installed a new motherboard, it wouldn't let me activate over the internet. I had to go thru the task of calling MS for activation. Now is this going to be a problem for me down the road some. Are they going to say,"Nope we're not activating your product because we suspect you're installing vista on multiple computers" Which is completely untrue. I know I'm going to reinstall again at least once by the end of the year when I get my i7 processor, new mobo and ram. I really don't want to spend another 300 dollars on Vista Ultimate because MS won't activate my current copy of it.

I have done a few things, like using vista boot cd to try bootrec.exe (and all it's commands), searching for winload.exe (which hasn't been modified since 2008 by the time stamp), I've done chkdsk /f, and maybe a few other things which right now I can't remember....so If you dare try your hand at the mutant, ooze-breathing bsod I commend you brave one, but I warn you...yes.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am unable to get Vista to recognize drivers for my Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 in a non-RAID capacity. It's a SATA drive and I am of the understanding that these cause similar problems fairly frequently. In most cases about which I have read, the issue has been solved by choosing the "load driver" option during Vista installation and manually selecting a SATA driver from a driver disk of some form. Unfortunately, this course of action has not turned up any SATA driver on my motherboard's driver disk nor have I been able to find one at the manufacturer's (Gigabyte) website. I am currently waiting for a reply from Gigabyte customer care and am about to look up JMicron's (the SATA controller producer for Gigabyte) website, but I hoped someone here might have some insight into the problem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been wracking my brain for weeks now, trying to play C&C First Decade with Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge over the LAN, it will only run on IPX networking which I could setup with 2x XP machines, I have Vista Ultimate on my PC, and XP on another, I found some drivers for IPX to work on Vista, didn't work ... So I loaded Hamachi which had built-in IPX support. Now when I open RA2, it no longer says IPX unavailable, it shows 00 00 00...
So it can see my Hamachi adapter with IPX support, great! The other XP machine has Hamachi installed, and they are both VPN'd (Connected) on the same Hamachi Network. They don't see each other... The XP machine shows a few IPX networks, I have tried switching to them all, even put the Hamachi adapter and the LAN adapter to the top of the preferred networks list. This was sort-of a breeze with both XP, but with Vista it's looking to be a bit tricky. I have no firewalls running on either machine and I am pretty cluey when it comes to networking (TCP/IP that is).

Secondly, it is operating hardware (particularly CPU, RAM, motherboard, and video card) above and beyond rated specs. Rated specs are the level to which a particular piece of hardware is expected to, has been tested to, and is warranted to perform. What this equates to in the real world is a certain price tag for a certain level of expected performance.... Overclockers strive to determine not what hardware should do, but what can do.
Overclocking is more of an art than a science. There is no combination of settings that will yield the best results for every system...... Greater experience does make the overclocking process less cumbersome, but it is and always will be a trial and error process..... Don't be afraid to experiment, but always take things slow and be aware of temperature and voltage limits. Overclocking Basics (particular to Intel systems, though many of the concepts apply to AMD systems as well)
1) Limitations - Each hardware component has physical limitations that, at a minimum, meet the rated (stock) specifications..... In the process of thoroughly overclocking a system, the actual limitations of various components will be found. In general, the CPU, RAM, and motherboard will control the overclock, but other components such as the PSU and cooling will have a major impact on overclocking abilities..... I am running Windows Vista Business on a Vaio VGN-TZ21WN and I loathe the entire experience. The notable changes in SP1 list gives me some hope, however SP2 won't come up in Windows Update. Before I use the standalone install, I have read all the possible reasons why this might happen and it appears the only driver issue left is the Intel video chip: I am stuck with 7.14.10.1387
The update from Intel won't install - asking me to get an update from Vaio. Vaio are not offering anything new yet. Longshot time: Has anyone else here forced an install SP1 in a similar situation? I am keen to at least try and fix this nasty, nasty OS before I am just forced into buying a Macbook instead.
I built a computer for a friend of mine running Vista Ultimate 32bit OS, with SP1 installed. Everything's been working great, except one annoying issue that I can't get to the bottom of!! When the machine is shutdown from the operating system, it powers all the way down and then it turns right back on...I've checked all of the wake-on settings in the BIOS and Device Manager, checked the powerconfg -devicequery wake_armed from the command line and disabled all of the devices that showed up, clearing all of the entries...I've updated the BIOS and Chipset drivers too. I have the Intel DG33FB Motherboard with Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor installed.
